RE: [Swprograms] OT:New Classic Arts TV Channel

ARTS has been on for at least a year and programming has been pulled down as
late night filler on the NYC channel 25 (WNYE) for most of that time. L.I.
channel 21 (WLIW) and the CUNY and NYC Crosswalks channels have recently
been added.

No programs from ARTS are on PBS channel 13,(WNET), although they own
channel 21 and operate 25 which is still NYC owned as are the cable
channels.

Classic Arts Showcase on Air

For those who want the best of opera, ballet, classical music,
film, jazz, folk art, modern dance and much more should check
out Classic Arts Showcase. The programmer has a $50 million
non-profit public service channel funded solely by The Lloyd E.
Rigler-Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation. Classic Arts Showcase
can be seen in North America and South America via an
unscrambled satellite signal from Galaxy 1R, transponder 5,
and is available free to local cable systems, public access
stations, local broadcast stations, schools and anyone who can
downlink the signal. The channel also is on EchoStar's DISH
Network. For more information, visit
