Glenn Hauser logs May 11-12-13, 2020

Logs
** CUBA. 9640 // 9535, May 13 at 0002, both these are just barely
modulated. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 15205.060, May 12 at 1756, JBA off-frequency talk
until 1757*, my measurement just in time; it`s the HQS as scheduled
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, May 11 at 2239 check, VOT is on at S7/S9+10 with
music fill. On again May 12 at 2227 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 9615, May 12 at 1825 English lesson for Korean, S6-S9.
Accent seemed American but this is tail of 3-hour BBC broadcast via
Tinang, PHILIPPINES on the 21-degree azimuth carrying right on USward.
I would not be so eager to teach the N Koreans English; so they can be
more effective cybercriminals (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 380-MCW kHz, May 12 at 0628, ND beacon OEL, JBA under much
stronger 379-MCW RUE in Arkansas. Both are 25 watts, OEL in Oakley,
Kansas, which is just SE of Colby by I-70. OEL is also closer, 401 km
vs 445 from Russellville (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5896.5-USB, May 13 at 0010, MARS net, mostly JBA but at 0015
NCS3 is briefly stronger, calling AFZ6HP, fonetikally; also mentioned
either as caller or callees: NCS307, NCS387, NCS027. These are not
intruders per ITU, rather all the broadcasters 5900-5800. Searching on
the AFZ- call the first hit I get says:

``CR> - Groups.io! groups.io › winfldigi › topic Jul 3, 2019 - On Jul
3, 2019, at 21:00, Hubert Peery <afz6hp@...> wrote: I get an automatic
<CR> after each line and after an enter from the keyboard printed``
but clicking on that directly, Hub`s call appears only as W5GYX.
Looking up his ham call: ``W5GYX USA flag USA, HUBERT D PEERY,
SHAWNEE, OK 74804-3620 USA``.

This is a SHARES net frequency as explained with my first log July 27,
2016 at the same time
http://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1630.txt
and there have been several since (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 18130-USB, May 12 at 1523, OSOB is KW6J/7 in contact with an
unheard K5. I check this band for signs of sporadic E, even if nothing
is making it on 17 MHz SWBC band like 17775; and 15825 WWCR is the
usual JBA carrier under dead conditions in that direxion. I`ve heard
him before on same band, last August 2 and April 12: ``KW6J/7 USA flag
USA, BRIAN C STAPLETON, CORONA DEL MAR, CA 92625, USA`` but splits
time in Arizona as the /7 implies.

18130-USB, May 12 at 1743 recheck same frequency and hear same?
station. No, now OSOB is W7HX, who per qrz.com must have just moved up
to Prescott Valley AZ: 1748 ``here in western Arizona, Lou``, and 1951
contact unheard W5RLW. Contrary to this almost 3-year-old entry,
referred to living part-time in California; like Brian.

``W7HX USA flag USA, LOUIS E CALDWELL, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314, USA`
Ham since 1967, orig call WA7GYR, had W7HX since 1977. Pharmacist,
(Wash State U 1962) retired end of 1998. Now completely retired, no
more pills. Have moved to AZ permanently, winters in Sun City, summers
(mid-May to early October in Prescott Valley. 4el steppir from WA put
up in Prescott Valley, A ham location to die for, on the brow of a
hill with green belt sloping down 20-30 feet to a road. Clear shot NE
to S (thru east). 55ft tower plus sloping hill should be a killer
location. 8183603 Last modified: 2017-06-27 04:23:36, 930 bytes``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
