Second test transmission for BBC Antarctic Special, tomorrow Friday June 17 at 21.30 UT.
Friday, June 17 2022

HCDX

ASCENSION ISL / UAE / U.K. Second test transmission for BBC Antarctic
Special today on Friday June 17 noted as follows:

hfcc.org database entry of ENC test special June 14, June 17 and hopefully
Tuesday final June 21 transmission read as follows

6035 2130 2145 67,73 DHA 250 203 0 216 3 Eng UAE BBC ENC 5049 ESPR4
7305 2130 2145 67,73 ASC 250 27 0 607 3 Eng G BBC ENC 5053 ESPR4
9505 2130 2145 67,73 WOF 300 182 12 618 3 Eng G BBC ENC 5059 ESPR4
2065 2130 2145 67,73 WOF 300 182 12 618 3 Eng G BBC ENC 5065 ESPR4

Test transmisssion outlets checked on various remote SDR's at Sao Paulo
Brazil by Rudolfo Grimm;
at Johannesbourg of TWR South Africa bureau SDR;
at New York state east coast of USA;
and at Athens Greece in southern Europe.

BRA RSA NY-US
6035 kHz UAE Al Dhabbaya ENC relay S=7 -85dBm S=7 -84dBm S=3 -112dBm
7305 kHz ASC Ascension ENC relay S=9+15 -62dBm S=6 -88dBm S=7 -84dBm
9505 kHz WOF Woofferton ENC site S=8 -83dBm S=6 -90dBm S=6 -92dBm
12065 kHz WOF Woofferton ENC site S=9+10 -71dBm S=6 -88dBm S=9 -76dBm

Compared to previous season years, reception in Johannesbourg RSA
was much limited down, except the balcony Ascension Island nearby signal.

In the overall view of the test transmissions, I was very surprised to
observe the negative transmission strength signal in the 31 metre band in
Brazil as well as in South Africa targets.
The same technical parameters were used on 9505 kHz as on 12065 kHz tonight
from Woofferton England site, see hfcc.org database entries.

Dave, what's going on with the WOF antenna on 9505 kHz channel tonight?
Only sunspots/propagation matter ?

7305 and 12065 kHz channels will provide the best signal on Tuesday
in British Antarctica.
