TEXAS RADIO SHORTWAVE REPRISES THREE SHOWS ON WRMI, 5950 KHZ, BEGINNING
AT 2300 UTC ON SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2022

TRSW rebroadcasts three shows on WRMI this weekend, beginning on
Saturday, June 25 at 2300 UTC.

The shows are:

Sunday, June 26 @ 0000 UTC - Roger Miller

======

Suspense (2300 UTC, Saturday, June 25)

Suspense was a radio series broadcast on CBS from 1942 through 1962.
One of the great radio shows of the Golden Age of Radio, Suspense, was
subtitled "radio's outstanding theater of thrills." The show usually
featured leading Hollywood actors of the era.

The digitally restored shows are from August and June 1942.

Roger Miller (Sunday, June 26 @ 0000 UTC)

Along with Ray Stevens and a couple more performers, Roger Miller began
his pop career singing "silly songs."  "You Can't Rollerskate in a
Buffalo Herd," "Chugalug," and "My Uncle Used to Love Me But She Died,"
are three examples of the songs that made Roger famous. However, he had
many serious songs that rivaled anything during his career.

Here's a TRSW mix of his songs:

Burning Bridges
Chug-a-lug
I've Been A Long Time Leavin' (But Leavin' Be A Long Time Gone)

You Can't Rollerskate In A Buffaloherd.

=====

Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys (Sunday, June 26 @ 0100 UTC)

Bob Wills is known as the King of Western Swing for having performed his
brand of dancehall music with a Texas Flair.
