Hauser
** EGYPT. 9440, Aug 21 at 2220, nothing but weak whine audible direct
from R. Cairo; much stronger JBM carrier on 9900, i.e. the English and
S. American services, respectively. Something`s always egregious in
Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ITALY. 18155 USB, Aug 21 at 2208, IK4GRO calling CQ/DX 17, JBA
several times without reply; and not much else on band. QRZ.com:

IK4GRO Italy flag Italy
LAURO ZANOLI
VIA DEGLI ESPOSTI 19
41018 S.CESARIO S.P. MO
Italy

https://www.qrz.com/db/IK4GRO
shows Ferraris, family, equipment, cat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, Aug 22 at 1527, V of Martyrs Korea, secret
site is S3/S7, YL in non-English presumed really Dhivehi; chopped off
after 1529 just in time for OM S/off in English and 1530*. If Vatican
still follow, inaudible here in degraded conditions (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7254.9+, Aug 22 at 0555 first check, no signal yet from
VON, but by 0603 Hausa is underway, S9+20/30 with sufficient
modulation. Wolfgang Bueschel says it did come on at 0558 with IS, I
missed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6926 USB, Aug 22 at 0122, undermod pirate with song,
S5/S8 vs HSNL, long pause past 0124, off? Meanwhile, switching back
and forth to 6920 station, so bound to miss something. 0155 on with
``Shut the #uck up`` song. Mostly unID, but one report as ID: ``WWWW
The Drunk Fox?``
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,100959.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6920 AM, Aug 22 at 0124, rock music, S9/+20 much
stronger than 6926 USB simulstation. Switching back and forth to that,
so bound to miss something. 0126, 6920 off. 0129 some spoken comments
with music, maybe DJ, not IDs; until: 0136 YL bot voice seems to be
reading a current HFU reception report to Clever Name Radio,
mentioning 6917, 6920. Apparently this be CNR per many reports:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. 5950, UT Mon Aug 22 at 0200, `Encore` classical
music via WRMI: same episode as 25 hours earlier on 5850 & 7730. Now
it`s clear that this is the correct Aug 20 episode; the mistake was
the playlist header as Aug 6 instead of 20, now fixed.

Meanwhile, WBCQ R. Angela, Concert Hall has started part II of
`Parsifal` on 5129.975, S8/9+5 into Maryland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Aug 21 at 2218, no signal direct from VOT, just RTTY.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. Another time typo at the end of this item, wrote 2355
instead of 2255, fixed below. While it`s ultimately my fault, there
would be less chance of this if there were not twice-annual one-hour
real time shifts due to stupid DST, down with!

9830.018, Aug 19, at 2201, VOT English is on today, S9+45/50 into
UTwente but with squeal! I am not going to put up with that. Autonotch
does not work on it, and removed only by narrowing bandwidth too far,
below 2.37 kHz. It`s equally bad on LSB and USB so part of the DSB
modulation. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Off by 2255 so no
extra German and Portuguese tonight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, Aug 21 at 0503, UR1 via WRMI, reconfirmed in
English for `Ukraine: Security Issue`. Since there is always something
else I want to hear/see at local midnight, I`m finding it more
convenient to catch up later ondemand, and slowing possiblized.

For August 20, day 178 of Comrade Vlady`s war,
http://ukr.radio/images/ckeditor/files/files/ENG_NEWS_20_08_22.mp3
including:
Russia has lost almost 45K troops KIA, more than 6000 tanx et al.
Explosions at R bases in occupied Crimea. Bombarding U cities and
villages mostly in the south and east. High probability of strikes
from Belarus`, Caspian and Black Seas. Mariupol a mess. R chooses to
destroy all living beings in U. 25K pills of potassium iodide
delivered to city threatened with nuclear exposure from Zap. plant.

For August 21,
http://ukr.radio/images/ckeditor/files/files/ENG_NEWS_21_08_22.mp3
including: Massive missile strikes on Mykolaiv region. Five missiles
launched at Odesa, hit granary but two shot down. Three ships in Black
Sea armed with cruise missiles, one of them a sub. More local
resistance in Zap. area, 60% controlled by Russia. Lyudmila says all
windows broken, wishes occupiers would all die. Zap. plant may be
disconnected from power grid by Russians (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2152 monitoring: UT Friday August 19 at 0130
on WRMI, somehow I wrote 5810 instead of still correct 5850!

Confirmed Sunday August 21 from 2000.5 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323
kHz, Villa Estense, S9+5/15 atop SAH and QRM from 2? understations,
one with pop music; into nearby Noale KiwiSDR.

Confirmed UT Monday August 22 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 into way
offbeam Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday August 22 from 0301.5 on WBCQ Area 51: JL
``gotta go`` at 0300, then considerable pause, S7/S9 into Maryland SDR
on 6160 minus 63 Hz = 6159.937 with QubaRM splash from 6165, the two
stations refusing to distance from each other. Next:

0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW

** U S A. 9330v, Aug 22 at 1537, NO signal from WBCQ`s World`s Last
Chance Radio; what`s wrong now? Almost as if WLCR fell off the edge of
the flat earth (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15745-15755, Monday August 22 at 1532, hybrid DRM at S8-S9,
from WINB, yet SSOB, stronger than 15770 WRMI and JBA 15825 WWCR.

Benn Kobb of www.experimentalradio.news posted about this to WOR iog
August 21:

``WINB Unknown Signal --- I was interested to hear the reference to
WINB in the latest World of Radio. The mysterious data emissions of
WINB were the subject of considerable discussion at this year's NASB
conference here in Washington.

I don't know if anyone has publicly disclosed the content of this
nonbroadcast data. But the apparent connection between WINB and
Parable Broadcasting is notable. Parable is one of the companies
waiting for an FCC construction permit to build an International
Broadcast station.

The principals of Parable hold executive positions at Ursa Navigation
Inc. (UrsaNav), a LORAN company in Massachusetts; and at Tagence, an
IT firm in Virginia. While its shortwave station will be in Illinois,
Parable is based in Virginia. UrsaNav was the co-applicant with
Parable for a local permit to build a purported international
"Christian" radio station in Kane County, IL.

UrsaNav is licensed for microwave station WRAL663 at WINB's site in
Red Lion, PA.

Independent consulting engineer Alex Pilosov raised questions about
WINB and Parable in an FCC filing. Excerpts:

"In 2018, WINB applied and received authority to broadcast DRM
content, specifying 10 kHz emission bandwidth and emission code of
10K00G9W (single 10 kHz data channel).

"WINB did not disclose any transmission of private data in its
application for 'DRM datacasting.' In fact, WINB is transmitting
standard DRM signals in the upper 5 kHz portion of its assigned
spectrum, and non-DRM digital data in the lower 5 kHz.

Such transmissions are not permissible per [FCC Rule] §73.758, nor are
they part of the DRM specification. Furthermore, WINB itself confirmed
that the lower 5 kHz is, in fact, 'a data stream.'

"It can be reasonably inferred to be experimentation of shortwave data
transmission engineered by UrsaNav, in order to be used by Parable,"
Pilosov wrote.

None of the UrsaNav/Parable principals have backgrounds in religious
broadcasting - or any broadcasting, as far as I could determine. I
believe Parable has no real evangelistic mission but will function as
a private data link to overseas financial centers.``

The mention of this on WOR was a new multi-frequency schedule for WINB
DRM, via Ivo Ivanov:

https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2022/08/new-schedule-of-winb-red-lion-in-hybrid.html

``New updated schedule of WINB Red Lion in Hybrid DRM mode from August
