Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Oct 21 at 1753 tune-in via
Argentine remote, LRA36 already on, S5 talk not just music; 1755
contact info; [lunchtime for me]; 1828 recreation of LRA36 when it was
on 6030, 1968-69? 1843 IDs; 1844 multi-lingual canned IDs including
English; 1856 quoting Horacio Nigro`s La Galena del Sur blog from
Uruguay, about LRA36. Too much else going on Saturday afternoons to
listen to this for five hours straight! But some further chex: At 1918
I change to Brasil SDR. But there it does not sound quite right at
.98; maybe best at 15476.15? But SDR must be miscalibrated as on WWV
15000.000, it says carrier -106 Hz! On some SDRs can`t find a carrier
to zero in on. Even with good modulation level, carrier at Brasília is
JBA and hard to pinpoint. About 2000 mentions expecting a special
program from Adrián Korol at 6 pm [=21z]. 2002, historic recording of
first? contact between Antártida and Malvinas. 2041, it`s up to S7/S9
at Bsla. 2126, ID with frequency, current temp +5, a heat wave. 2256
next check seems off. Is anyone hearing them any other days at 15-17?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, R. Kiribati: still not getting any trace of it
direct; so I am trying via Oahu SDR which last season got it as early
at 0430 UT, circa sunset there and on Xmas Island to the south: Oct 21
at 0435, nothing audible or visible on the H2Ofall, yet SAM synch lox
onto a carrier displaying +0.4 to +1.1 Hz averaging +0.8. Don`t see
how it could be anything else from Pacific or Asia, let alone Europe.
At next chex 0523 & 0555, there is a JBV fuzzy carrier, still nothing
audible, and variation slightly greater, plus/minus 2 Hz. Some or all
of that could be instability of receiver; or partly transmitter; or
unstable propagation. Will keep checking periodically. June 8 at 0658
was the last time I logged a JJBBA carrier direct (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Oct 21 at 0518 UT, K17JN-D, the multi-channel 3ABN
satellator in Enid is still black and silent two weeks after first
noted October 7. One suspects the 7DA aren`t very serious about their
broadcasting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009+, Oct 21 at 2200, VOT timesignal and opening
English, VG S9+15/30 signal and good modulation too into UTwente, news
dated Saturday, but probably originally broadcast at 1230. 2209,
multilingual ID filler reel. 2211, music. 2216 travelog to Izmit,
which is on an inlet just ESE of Istanbul, not to be confused with
Izmir; music. 2229 `Gripping Piles` about warm temps in Antarctica,
short pants wearable due to climate change, 18 March 2022, hot humid
air blew in from Australia. 2232 more nice music. 2237 recipe for
making jam from eggplants, on `Turkiye`s Geomarked [sic] Products`.
2240 music. 2246 always-by-your-side promo, music. 2249
with-you-every-hour promo, music. 2253 s/off with usual defects. 2254
about 6 notes of IS before chopoff* No finesse (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
