At 0332 I get a partial ID in Spanish mentioning 105.3. Then I do the usual searches in the NRC AM Log, the WTFDA FM Database, radio-locator, and even a broad websearch without finding *any* correlation of those two frequencies in the USA or Mexico in Spanish or even English. Finally I search the IRCA DX Monitor archive, and there it is in the loggings of the Jan 18, 2025 issue: ``1540 KGBC TX, Galveston – 1/9 0701 [EST = 1201 UT] noted w/legal ID with KTWI 105.3 Hempstead, TX and “Real Power 105.3” slogan IDs. Hold it: Per the WTFDA FM Database, KTWI-LP is on 94.3 in Liberal KS! The 105.3 in TX is really KTWL: hard to mistake L for I in a spoken ID. Could station axually be announcing wrong call? It can happen, like with K17JN in Enid visually calling itself K17JI.
