** FRANCE. 11995, Apr 30 at 0606, African language S9/+5. EiBi shows RFI in Hausa at 0600-0630 via ISSoudun. This has a better signal than 11700 RFI in French which is 250 kW at 200 degrees. 11995 is 250 kW at 170 degrees, neither anywhere near thisaway. IIRC 11995 is a frequency inherited from Africa Number One, Gabon; remember? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** JAPAN. 15195, Apr 30 at 0609, NHK IS, 0610 `Sakura` theme and opening Chinese, S3 direct; odd time to start a broadcast, but Mandarin indeed scheduled at 0610-0630. Many language services last only 20 minutes now, otherwise Russian, Korean, French, Arabic, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu, Thai, as in: https://new.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A25&broadc=NHK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH. 15245.24 approx., Apr 30 at 2214, JBA talk, S6/S7 with flutter, no doubt VOK Spanish as sked this hour. Aoki ignores the fact that this is perpetually off+frequency, quite a signature, but EiBi shows 15245.2, also at long hours of 07-09, 13-2350. If you do hear something on 15245.0 at other times it would be CRI or RFA Taiwan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1460, Apr 30 at 2225 UT, KZUE El Reno ID as ``La Tremenda, 1460 AM y 97.7 FM``, and maybe then ``Radio Fórmula`` as in NRC Log for this ``group``, which shows *two* FM translators on 97.7: K249FG and K249EN. WTFDA FM Database shows K249EN also in El Reno, 250 watts vertical only, in Spanish; but mixed up about the other, K249FG in OKC, G.C. slightly south and east of the other one, which is shown as 250 W H&V, Spanish, yet ``smooth jazz``, ``The City``, which also applies to KCYI-LP, 42 watts in OKC, but axually from Edmond, ex-97.5. It seems that two translators and an LP on the same frequency in one Metro would not be viable. 97.7 is blocked here with a local in Enid. In English it`s ``Ree-noh``; would have to catch a full ID in Spanish whether they can say ``Ray-noh``. KZUE itself is a 500-watt daytimer. And does this R. Fórmula relate to the real Mexican network/brand? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 95.5, Apr 30 circa 2030 UT, rock music sounds mono altho $ tereo pilot is on; local quality briefly on caradio around Cleveland and west OK Garriott intersexion. By a mile east at OKG and South Van Buren, where 1670 Virtual DJ Radio dominates, 95.5 is losing out to real FM stations in the fringes: KWEN Tulsa, KWEY Clinton or KAHE Dodge City. Heard same a day or two ago and figured some car`s RF feeder, but this is apparently more permanent pirate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17715 = 15500 > 15520 > 15390, Wed Apr 30 at 2208, all SNR frequencies active for token English, all about the blackout/apagón of Apr 28. In order here by decreasing strength direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785.007-, Apr 30 at 2209, VOT not off the air, S8/S9 direct already in music after olds. At 2241 into UTwente when measured, S9+10, ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music; 2245 ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music. 2253 s/off as if it`s the 1230 on 17620, IS to 2254.6*. Something`s always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Reply to my obs yesterday: ``WRMI latest schedule, Overcomer overnight Saturday & Sunday only now. Peter W Hansen``. I think it has been confusingly labeled like that for a long time, despite really running 9955 all night every night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 9960, April 30 at 0603, R. Vanuatu in presumed Bislama talk, S6/S9 direct. But soon gone again: ``Hello all, 30/04, around 0834 all R. Vanuatu's known frequencies are off. 2485, 3945, 5040, 7260, 7890, 9960, 11835. Checked in various remotes in AUS and NZL. 73 Lúcio Otávio Bobrowiec, Brasil`` ``Greetings, Lúcio, from California. Thanks for monitoring! Yes, at 0910+ UT (April 30) also noticed no SW signal (3945, etc.) from Radio Vanuatu, via various NZ remotes. Another power outage? Have sent an email to the station.
