** BENIN. 1566, which I remarked July 4 when hearing TWR`s other carrier on 1476, not being on 1566 in mornings, and still shown 1815-2145 only in MWlist, now *has* been reported in mv-eko of Arctic Radio Club: ``1476 23.5 0317 TWR Africa, Parakou-Serarou, lokal musik (1476.0019) TN 1566 23.5 0319 TWR Africa, Parakou-Serarou, kom upp under BBC (1565.9999) TN Thomas Nilsson, Ängelholm – Perseus SDR, two 12x4 m Flag-antennas, both reversible`` So 1566 *is* on in the mornings now, repossiblizing NAm DX reception. 23.5 was a Friday, in case significant (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2303)
** BRAZIL. 11780, July 10 at 0153, RNB/RNA token English, tuned in late via remote, talking about how RNA MW coverage reaches 1500 km at night; 0154 long credit list already and into Spanish. A repeat? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CONGO. 6115, July 10 circa 0500 & 0530, NO signal from R. Congo, certainly not direct vs my noise level, nor via remotes in S Africa, Canary, Portugal. We used to JB hear it before Japan would take over 6115, which in summer would be much later. Brazzaville own SR/SS are 0508/1701, and at latitude 4.25 south, vary little during the year. So if on, need to hear it ASAP in our mornings. Also not even a carrier at 1806-1808 into UTwente, two RSA and one Kenya SDRs. Andre in S Africa reported hearing it, with a recording, VP in French with mentions of Brazzaville. He doesn`t make clear the times, but recording indicates 1655 & 1707 UT: ``[WOR] Radio Congo back on 6115 kHz -- I heard Radio Congo again tonight, for the first time in two years. Not sure if they've been there all along and just wasn't heard widely, or if this is a return. Here is the video: https://youtu.be/EHjgsVvu8Tw Jul 9, 2025 -- In this video, I tune in to Radio Congo (6115 kHz) — a rare catch I haven't heard in almost two years! This state broadcaster from Brazzaville is listed as being on air daily, but it's incredibly difficult to receive from my location in Johannesburg, South Africa, and I haven't heard it since 2023. Was this a return to shortwave, or has it been quietly broadcasting all along and I just haven't heard it? Hard to say — but either way, this is a DXing highlight for me in 2025! The last time I heard it, was in September 2023. Transmission info (per listed schedules): Frequency: 6115 kHz Time: 05:00–19:00 UTC daily Language: French & local languages Power: 1 kW (with unconfirmed reports of a 50 kW upgrade since 2022)`` Surely it has been silent; not in current EiBi or Aoki. WRTH 2025 had sked as 0530-1830. Ron Howard also checked for it: ``On July 10, from about 0515 to 0615 UT, checked 6115 for Radio Congo reactivation, via various Africa & Brazil SDR remotes, but no signal anywhere. Guess we should check about 1700 UT?`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2303) ** MEXICO. 1140, July 10 at 0601, Mexican NA, choral. Must be XEMR Monterrey, 20 kW supposedly daytimer; used to have much better signal, 50 kW as still in WRTH. Two other XEs on 1140 believed silent, per IRCA Mexican Log. Axual location of R.
