Logs
** BRAZIL. 11780, Dec 11 at 0753, no signal for RNA token English;
6180 is VP with music. Paul Walker, McGrath AK, says: ``Even though
most won't notice, 11780 Brazil is still operating at half power of 50
KW; they got new tube but they were no good so the old one back in
operation right now. They've been operating this way for a month. I`m
not a math guy, but someone told me its only 3db difference between
100 and 50 kW. I've noticed almost no difference up here`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2325)

** CUBA [and non]. 1040 kHz, Dec 11 at 0736 UT, whooper audible under
WHO. Quite some time since I`ve heard that anywhere (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Dec 11 at 1550, windhowl only at S9+5; 15230 JBA
Spanish S4/S5; 11760 S5/S6 JBA or dead air. Something`s always wrong
at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Dec 11 at 1953, S6/S8 of deadair without windhowl from
RHC direct. No other frequencies even on the air, making it even
easier not to broadcast English at 2000. 11760 still DA at 2001 into
Georgia SR, S9+15/22. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2325)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13755, Dec 11 at 0723, RNZP Melanesian, starting
Vanuatu news sponsored by a bank there: so is this officially a
commercial station? Only S4/S5. Used to inboom unlike anything else on
band, but not lately. This does not exactly match program sked for
this particular day, in UT +13:
https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/schedules/20251211

``8:08 PM. Pacific Waves
A daily current affairs programme covering the major Pacific stories
of the week, with background and reaction from the people making the
news.

8:28 PM. Melanesian Update
The latest news in Solomon Islands Pidgin (Tok Pisin), followed by
BuzzFM News from our partners in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

9:00 PM. The Wantok Program
30 minutes of news and current affairs from ABC Australia from Monday
to Friday in Papua New Guinea Tok Pisin, Solomon Islands Pijin and
Vanuatu Bislama pidgin languages.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 9025 AM, Dec 11 at 1554, FDR speech clips, narrative
about WWII, music bits, from a documentary, S8/S9 direct but audio
breakups. 1557 refers to his report about Yalta conference on March 1,
1945. 1559 mentions April 12, 1945 - the day FDR died and someone was
born, but then off the air before 1600. Searching frequency at HFU
gets several pirate hits in past few years: other presidential audio,
from JFK, Coolidge:

Switching to W5TSU remote, the only OK, in OKC, hears nothing more
during following hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2325)

is S9/+10 into Bedford UK remote.

As a noncommercial public service program, financial support
appreciated. Thanks this week to Doug Brown, London, Ontario for a
check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and
says, ``Thanks for all you do to keep our great hobby going (if only
on life support)``

One may also contribute, not necessarily in US funds via PayPal to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9265, Dec 11 at 1955 no signal from WINB, but it`s on at
2003, S9+33 into Georgia SDR. Program sked shows starting at 1900 UT,
but that`s a misconversion from 3:00 pm ET, really *2000 UT. America`s
oldest SW station still is clueless about UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
