Glenn Hauser logs December 20, 2025
Saturday, December 20 2025

Hauser
** CUBA. 5025, Dec 20 at 0724, R. Rebelde deadair, or JBM? S9+15
direct. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** LUXEMBOURG. 6140, Dec 20 at 0729, JBA music S6/S7 = HNL, presumed
R. Gloria/Onda. Weak enough now to be more credible (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930 AM, Dec 20 at 0731, Ball Smacker Radio offering
eQSL for reports to ballsmacker@gmail.com, S7 = noise level. Very
unusual for anypirate to run so late. Two other reports here as unID:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,155602.0.html
but David Ross correctly suggested this ID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Sat Dec 20 at 1522, REE reactivated NAm frequency is
but a JBA carrier direct; and by 1617 even into Maryland SDR, JBA.
They just don`t get it that 9 MHz is too low for an all-day path from
Eu to NAm: but it`s got to be on a single frequency for the entire
span to 0300 weekdays! Into Maryland at 1617, best by far is SAm
channel 17715 S8/9+10, then 17755 S5/S9 for Africa, while 12030 for ME
is JBA S4/S6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, Dec 20 at 0706, regular FBY FairBurY NE atop
some CCI, can`t be sure but got to be TOR TORrington WY or more likely
UI qUIncy IL (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2326 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday December 20 at 0400 on WTWW 5085, ``The ministry of...``, VG
direct. Earlier at 0257 direct I measured the parasitic spurs, very
weak with no modulation, on 5072.155 & 5097.845. Last digit not
certain. Also at 0410-0417 checked some remotes for how well 5085
worx: Madera CA S7/9 noisy. Walt Salmaniw`s Haida Gwai BC, an
excellent installation, good S9+10. Anchorage JBA in HNL. Brasília JBA
in HNL. PEI VG S7/9+10. Costa Rica JBA S4/S5 in HNL. Monterrey NL S7/9
in HNL. High noise levels at many of these are the problem.

Confirmed Saturday December 20 at 1548 the 1530 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 6160.001+, S9/+10 into UTwente, lite ACI from 6165 where two
ChiComs are listed. Also at 1556 on 3975.002+, S8/S9+10 into UTwente,
S9 into recommended Bedford UK SDR.

Also confirmed Saturday December 20 at 1634 the 1630 on WRMI 9955,
S8/9+5 into Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed Saturday December 20 at 1700 on WRN via WRMI, 9395,
S7/S9 into Maryland SDR while 7730 is JBA; into Georgia SDR, 7730 is
S7/S9 and 9395 S9+30/35.

Not confirmed Saturday December 20 at 1835 the 1830 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 3975 inaudible into UTwente, but into Bedford, music. An Xmas
pre-emption for In The Mix Radio Xmas Special:

And there could be more before 2026; see their day-by-day,
week-by-week skeds:

Looks like we`re back next week and other scheduled times as the
second half of CQ-S. O, at 1840 just got this:

``Hi Glenn, sorry for short notice. Because of 'seasonal live
programming' we had to cancel today`s Saturday airing of WOR at 18:30
UTC on 3975. Furthermore, we have to cancel Saturday 27th Dec 15:30
UTC on 3975 and 6160. Thanks for your input this year. Wishing you a
nice Xmas and healthy Happy New Year, Andy (Shortwave Radio,
Winsen - Germany)``

As a noncommercial public service program, financial support
appreciated. Thanks this week to Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a
check celebrating the Solstice to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK
73702

One may also contribute, not necessarily in US funds via PayPal to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 780, Sat Dec 20 at 0740 UT, WBBM 105.9, never mind
insignificant AM, with `StarDate` at ``40 past the hour``; about how
Earth is closest to Sun at northern winter, i.e. southern summer.
Solstice is at 1503 UT Dec 21. 24 hours earlier it was totally
skipped. This is automated delay repeat from earlier in evening, and
timechex following are wrong: at 0742, ``45 past the hour`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1450 kHz, Dec 20 at 0752 UT, ``Good Time Oldies, 1450 Co-Co,
KOKO`` atop the GY pileup. Warrensburg MO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7890, Dec 20 at 0704, JBA carrier, making me dream of a
second harmonic from RV on 3945, as was once reliable. Because has
just changed schedule, no longer on 7260 nor other fundamentals
checked, 3945, 5040, 9960, nor 3 x 3945 on 11835. By last check 0808,
JBA carriers on both 7890 and 5040. Meanwhile at 0630 into NZ remote,
Ron Howard found no sigs on 2485, 3945, 5040, 7260, 9960. By 0808,
Eric Fetters-Walp and by 0825 Ron were getting it on 5040. But where
before 0800? BTW, the only 7890.00 in the 1,133-page, 48,500+ entry
UDXF Frequency List is: Mawson Station, Antarctica in CW, SITOR, USB
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 810.53, Dec 20 at 0737 UT, carrier hetting 810.0 WHB.
Exact frequency varies slightly from one night to another. Tim Hall
suggested it could be KXOI Crane TX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1190, Dec 20 at 0806 UT, Spanish music, ``los éxitos de
ayer? y hoy``. No hits on that slogan in NRC AM Log nor IRCA Mexican
Log. Was dominating the frequency; from previous experience, best
guess would be XEPZ Ciudad Juárez, 1000/250 watts, tho XEMBC, 250/100
watts, Mexicali, mentions éxitos (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1560, Dec 20 at 0756 UT, ``Radio One`` in English, as
KGOW Viet must have faded, coming back up later. Not CBC. No hits on
that slogan in NRC AM Log or broad search (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, Dec 20 at 0723, JBA carrier still detectable where
no broadcasters are known. The only 4975.00 in the 1,133-page! UDXF Fq
List of more than 48,500 entries is a MIL-Net RUS CW (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1856 UT December 20
