virtually the OSOB, so I wonder what it could be? Aoki & EiBi show CRI
French via Kashgar. There is one other better signal, JBA on 15490.
That`s BBC French to Africa via ASCENSION. Not a bit of e.g. 15770
WRMI: is it propagating to anywhere in the middle of a winter night?
Also 13755, no sign of NZ which usually holds up when nothing northern

** SPAIN. 9690, Sunday Dec 28 at 1550, zero signal direct from REE to
N America. Weekends starts at 1500; even 17755 for Africa, normally
the weakest, is S7/S8 much better than 9690! 17715 for SAm S6/S9;
12030 for ME S9+15/20. To restate the obvious, NAm in our mornings
should be on much higher frequency, 13, 15 or even 17 MHz, while 9690
becomes VG later over mostly dark path. Something`s not right at
Noblejas, or messed up in Madrid when it comes to Propagation 101. At
1615 into UTwente I confirm that 9690 indeed is on the air, S9/+15 to
there (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9660.018, Sun Dec 28 at 1752, VOT English S9+5/15 into
UTwente, opening `Letterbox`. Cemre is speaking more slowly and
clearly than before, must be a deliberate strategy. She says it`s been
a year of ups and downs both personally and for the station. Looking
forward to some new programs in 2026: about Palestine, economic
activity?, Africa, UNESCO. Some will be in first half of year only,
others for entire year. Letterbox will continue on Sundays, and then
repeated on Wednesdays. She does not say which programs are being
terminated to make way for the new ones! Responding to reports: 1)
Annan?, India, NY greetings, with an `RFI` radio club. 2) Paul
Prokop?, Lancs., UK, listened to Chinese on 17775 among many others
mostly 6050 in English but one date nothing heard. 3) Siddartha

Walter Cargill, Glasgow, Scotland, first listened/QSLed in 1983 and

further sked changes on Saturdays concerning CQ-S, which includes WOR
in the second half hour. From Jan 3 at 1930 UT, and from Jan 10 also
at 1530.

WORLD OF RADIO 2327 monitoring: confirmed Sunday December 28 at 0730
on WRMIs direct: 7780 JBA; 7730 JBA carrier; 7570 S8; 5850 S9+35/45.
15770 JBA carrier. Sked on 5 frequencies at once, but only 5850 & 7570
are useful.

I happened to be awake at 1045 Dec 28, so checked 9510 direct where
WOR has been appearing on IRRS via ROMANIA: JBA someone talking, does
not sound unlike me. Next:
