``The familiar sound of the Iranian bubble jammers was observed at my
location today on 15430 kHz at 09:10 UTC, long after Farda had signed
off this frequency. Was gone when I checked again at 09:30.

15110 kHz is noted at 10:22 with heterodyne (carrier on 15109.85 which
is subject to frequent breaks of a few seconds at a time). They seem
to be having trouble in keeping the jammer on the air. The bubbling
sound was noted starting just before 10:30 UTC. The signal was
Dhabayya, is weak here in the U.K. so the 35 degree antenna must be
highly directional.

Back in the late 1990s a number of low power transmitters (10/20/50
kW) were installed at the Kamalabad site, presumably for jamming
purposes. The last time I heard the Iranian bubble jammers on HF was
in 2013 aimed at blocking Israel's Persian service. I expect that the
jamming equipment is kept in standby, but probably needs some
maintenance.

Farda on HF was never jammed in recent years as the programming
consisted almost entirely of popular music. The Iranian authorities
were probably of the opinion that the audience on short wave was
minimal anyway. With the current unrest in the country I would guess
that people are resorting to all possible ways of hearing the latest
news and many would be turning to short wave radio now. Alan Holder,

immediately after the news. First, Cemre says that 7 January was a
very special occasion, 63rd anniversary of VOT from 1963y; reaches 85
countries on SW. Come on, powerful SW transmitters can reach *every*
country sooner or later; have heard from listeners in only 85
countries over 63 years?? 1) Mr --? Albanese, Palermo, Italy, heard
Italian on 11970 - so why is he writing in English? Has not been
getting his QSLs. 2) Siddartha Papajarjee, West Bengal, how is New
Year celebrated? Big events in Istanbul. Not getting his QSLs either.
3) Jayanta Chakraborty, New Delhi, found out what Cemre name means:
heavenly warmth, arrival of spring. 44444 on 6125 - again unremarkable
that he keeps hearing the N American, not S Asian frequency at 0400.

Also confirmed Saturday January 10 at new time 2030 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 3975.003+ S7/S9 into UTwente.

Not yet Sat Jan 10 at 2030v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, poorly audible into St
Louis SDR but timed out too quickly, and not rechecked due to
distraxion.

Also confirmed Saturday January 10 at 2030 on WRMI 9395, S6/9+5 into
N9AZZ remote. I think it played again on same at 2100, as per unclear
WRMI skedgrid.

And yet again on WRMI 9395, confirmed Saturday January 10 at 2200,

Also confirmed UT Sunday January 11 ending at 0501 UT on WA0RCR, 1860
AM, MO, S9+15 into Georgia SDR, so must have started about 0432; was
JBA in HNL direct.

Also confirmed Sunday January 11 at 0730 on WRN via WRMIs: 5850
S9+30/40; 7570 S9+25; 7730 JBA; 7780 S6/S9. But NOT 15770, some other
talk JBA, confirmed not // lower frequencies on second receiver:

WRMI website updated Jan 9 so maybe somewhat correct. Now shows WRMI-9
15770 on System H with RFE/RL 0730-0930. What language(s)? NO info.
System H grid does not show 15770 after 0700. But System E grid,
mostly WRN, claims WRN during 0700-0800 on 15770 and seven! lower
frequencies. Odd.

WOR 2329 also confirmed Sunday January 11 the 1130 when I happen to
awaken at 1149, S9+30 on WRN via WRMI 7570, and JBA on 7780.

BTW, I had referred to 7570 as NW thisaway, but not exactly 315
degrees like on 5850 and 9455, rather 285 degrees ~ WNW. Let`s sort
WRMI frequencies by azimuth:
44: 7730, 15770
160: 9955, 5050, 5800
181: 5010
222: 7780
285: 7570
315: 9455, 5850
355: 9395, 5950
That`s 12; Xmtr #1 is blank. WRMI-7 on 17790 does not specify an
azimuth, just ``SAM/AFR``. It used to be 160, and still is per HFCC.
WRMI never replaced/repaired its only African antenna which IIRC was
81 degrees, a long way from 160. Africans must listen to whatever they

UNIDENTIFIED. 1480, Jan 11 at 0809 UT, Spanish, ID as Radio Vida,
Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. Trouble is, there is no 1480 in NL, nor in
plain Laredo, Texas. NRC AM Log shows KLCL Pasadena TX = Houston is a
Radio Vida, U4 5000/500. Station list at https://radiovida.com/about/
does not include anything on 1480! Flagship is KRGE 1290 Weslaco TX.
HOWEVER: tho not on own affiliate list, broad search and NRC AM Log
show KLNT Laredo TX as Radio Vida, but it`s on 1490. I`m quite? sure I

Spanish nor Vietnamese, but can`t recognize in QRM. Whence could it

are somewhat auroral. NRC AM Log has some Asian or ETHnic stations
which could be anything, but not around here: in CA, CA, MA, WA - or
