** CUBA. 11880 and weaker windhowly 15140, Jan 26 at 2005, RHC in English instead of dead air! into Knoxville SDR. Did not check yesterday, but Terry Krueger, NW FL, tells me:
``RHC in English at local level and great audio today. That’s been the standard for awhile, mornings in Spanish on 11760 until flipping later to 11880. But today - 25 January - in English from 2000 GMT (after a half hour of Haitian Kreyol). But the “wow” is they played several tracks by a radical politically-charged black US band from the late 1960-1970s, The Last Poets. Credited as the beginning of rap. A stern warning in advance announced, the lyrics. And there it was. Loads of the words N***** and and F*** dropped`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CZECHIA [non]. See USA: WRMI 5950; also, via Mike Terry: https://english.radio.cz/90-years-air-radio-prague-international-marks-anniversary-qsl-cards-8875728 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 570, Jan 26 at 0532, Spanish YL talk dominating instead of KLIF or anything in English. At 0602, Mexican NA is playing, kid-choral ``full`` version which means when you think it`s over, another verse plays. Finally finishes at 0604* and cuts OFF the air, uncovering algo in English. IRCA Mexican Log`s frequency list at the bottom has info about NA handlings: ``570 XEBJB NL SAN NICOLAS DE LOS GARZA CST Full (4:40) children's choral just before or after 6 am. Full (4:40) children's choral just before or after Midnight. 81-8125-3500 (None) LIVE 570 XEOA OAX OAXACA CST Choral (full - presumably children's) about 5:57 am. Children's choral (full 4:40) about 5 minutes before Midnight. 52 951 513 5740, 52 800 212 95`` There are two other 570s, one of which ``silent``, XELQ Morelia Mich. and XETD Tecuala Nayarit, unlikely compared to the others. Very likely XEBJB near Monterrey NL. But XEBJB and XEOA are supposedly 24 hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 660, Jan 26 at 0605, kid-choral NA is playing, until 0609 finally full ID as 92.1 & 660 in Monterrey, ``ABC Deportes, sabemos cómo se juega``, immediately into song in English, ``Young Girl`` -- really a beautiful song, and I suppose originally no problem with the lyrix, but listen to them now, could be Jeffrey Epstein`s lament of a pedophile! ``Song by Gary Puckett & The Union Gap ‧ 1968: Young girl Get out of my mind My love for you is way out of line Better run, girl You're much too young, girl...`` https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=wdpJFWwNbGk And 0613, ``Esto es ABC Deportes`` BTW, this 660, XEFZ, tho 1 kW night, is the regular Mexican heard, not 10 kW XEEY Aguascalientes2 which I used to get, let alone 10 kW XEDTL CDMX, nominal night powers in WRTH 2026 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. Reply to my RNZP 9700 log last time: ``Hi Glenn, RNZP are having problems with one of the 50 KW transmitters they normally use for DRM into the Pacific Islands and are having to use the other for best purposes to cover the islands. Nothing is wrecked at the station. One should remember RNZP is there to provide radio services to the Southern Pacific, not Trump Land. My complaint was that it was not following its own posted sked, or vice versa. Perhaps `wrecked` was a bit too strong, as I struggled for some alliteration other than `wrong` - I have also criticized US and other stations for not following own schedule correctly. BTW, most of US is *not* Trumpland. 73, Glenn`` Now another check, Jan 26 at 1514: no signal on 9700, but JBA on 7390 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1300 kHz, Jan 26 at 0535 UT, ``Real Talk``. No stations named this in NRC AM Log, so I try WTFDA FMDB for any R-T station with a connexion to 1300 as a ``relay of`` - again no hits. Broad search on slogan and frequency lead to: KAKC Tulsa! Whose primary slogan is ``The Patriot``. Day pattern barely reaches Enid on fringe contour, but night pattern has deep notch thisaway, so suspect day pattern and/or power. U4 5/1 kW (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2331 monitoring: confirmed Sunday January 25 at 2003 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.998, noisy S7 into UTwente. I think that 5950 is now on the 315 antenna that 5850 had used, but is it the WRMI-12 transmitter which had been on 5850, or the WRMI-8 as shown for 5950 at 355 degrees? Programming now on 5950, weaker 7730 & 7780 is S Asian? violin? music. Other WRMI fqs? 7570 off and nothing heard on 9395. 5950 further monitoring: at 0614 operatic solos with piano accompaniment, 0628 outro in English crediting Bamberg Symphony, and 0629 Prague outro via WRN, 0630 into Slovakia in English via WRN, `Listeners Tribune` part 2 music, not really a mailbag. System H sked shows on UT Mon & Tue only at 0600-0630, R. Prague International, i.e. English on 15770, not 5950! And then at 0630-0700 daily, Slovakia in Spanish, not English, on 15770, not 5950! Note that at 0629/0630 transition, both are coming via WRN, and the System E sked shows WRN relay on 5950 and several other frequencies. On 5950 at 0730 it`s WRN Deutsche Welle in English, starting `Living Planet` // 7780 only. Tony Pavick reports: ``While not weather related, unlike the previous week and as well as with WWCR and WTWW, WRMI suffered its own ring of hell last night as 5850 was extremely unstable. As early as 0200 UT the carrier on 5850 was repeatedly dropping. Reports I saw said that Jeff was returning from HFCC and was notified whilst en route during a stopover in Hawaii. It seems that all 5850 programming has been shifted to 5950 after 0500 UT. 5950 is still on the air at 1230 UT`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5920, Jan 26 at 0524, TOMBS on WTWW S9+20/30 but with big hum and distortion, suptorted, still so at 0730. Probably caused by ice storm circa Lebanon. George said it was hard to get to the site. By 1539, 9930 is S9+25/35 with OK modulation. Wolfgang Bueschel also reported Jan 26: ``5919.988 USA WTWW Lebanon TN – much annoying TERRIBLE BUZZ tone covered signal. S=9 at 0633 UT, 5915.4 to 5924.6 kHz freq range ist covered by 78 (!) x 60 Hertze strings ... 120, 180, 240 ... Hertz either sideband – TERRIBLE BUZZ tone!`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5935 & 4840, Jan 26 at 0525, both WWCRs are OFF, during icestorm in Nashville. More about this, nothing specific, SW not alluded, via Mike Terry: ``Nine USA Radio Stations Off-Air After Winter Storm Cuts Across The Country. FCC January 26 2026 The monster winter storm that cut across the country over the weekend has left at least nine radio stations off the air. The Federal Communications Commission reports eight FMs and one AM station are out of service. The count, gathered from submissions to the Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) did not identify the stations or their locations. The storm left a glace of ice across the mid-Atlantic and South, bringing down power lines which likely left many stations without backup generators without any electricity with which to remain on the air...`` https://www.insideradio.com/free/nine-radio-stations-off-air-after-winter-storm-cuts-across-the-country/article_18105956-1414-4a1f-a60e-c9d68a3bb5aa.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2015 UT January 26
