MWoffsets: ``1070 1069,9761 USA KFTI (Wichita, KS) 2024-12-25`` I did not realize it was totally off: NRC DX News Feb 10 published Feb 2: ``Stations that have notified the FCC that they are silent: 1070 KFTI KS Wichita – Silent Jan. 16, damage from copper thieves`` IRCA DX Monitor Feb 7 published Feb 2: ``1070 KFTI Wichita, KS was classic country, now silent, old slogan: “Classic Country 1070”, new: unknown (station is temporarily off-ye ed) Mike Sanburn sends along the following dated 1/27/26: https://radioinsight.com/headlines/336899/copper-theft-transmitter-damage-silence-kfti/ Copper Theft and Transmitter Damage Silence KFTI, by Lance Venta, January 27 2026 Summit Media’s “Classic Country 1070” KFTI Wichita KS has been off the air since January 16 following significant damage to its transmission facilities. A filing with the FCC states that KFTI’s tower array was damaged because of theft of copper components, compromising the ground system and related infrastructure, while its transmitter experienced substantial equipment failures and requires extensive repairs and replacement of multiple components before operation can be restored. KFTI, which utilizes Westwood One’s 24/7 Country programming, continues to stream online. The station registered a 0.9 share in the November 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings. INSTANT INSIGHT: Nowhere on the station’s website does KFTI explain to listeners that it is off the air. It also has no social media platform where to inform listeners of how to find them as once again radio attempts to just push its audience away`` Yet to check in daytime for any other signal or KFTI resumed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9665-9670-9675, Feb 2 at 2325, awful roar in this area, does not sound like regular DRM and none is scheduled in HFCC between 9655 and 9680, which also has nothing but a 2 kW in Germany 24h on 9670, i.e. Channel 292.
