** CUBA. 15140, Feb 7 at 0712, JBA carrier, likely RHC; also JBACs on
15300, 15350; and 15770 which means WRMI is barely propagating, so
Cuba could too. Then at 0722, S9+25 of DA on 11760, or is it JBM? Has
to be RHC, and even more so at 0725 on 9710, S9+25 of deadair. At
1549, 15140 with S8/S9 of windhowl. At 2007 into Georgia SDR, only
15140 windhowl S9/+25, makes neat symmetrical patterns on the
waterfall. Somethings always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

intonation recognizable as Spanish, atop KQCV OKC, as XEERG NL is

** NEW ZEALAND. 13755, Sat Feb 7 at 0714, S9/+20 ``Going Home``
soprano, song to the tune from Dvořák`s New World Symphony. Rare to
hear anything nearly classical on RNZP. Ends at 0719 but no
back-announcement and into non-classical. It`s the request show
allowing that to happen: ``8:08 PM. Saturday Night -- Saturday nights
on RNZ National is where Paul Brennan plays the songs YOU want to

** OKLAHOMA. 93.1, dead air not heard lately in Enid as of Feb 7. I
have no reason to believe it`s a licensed station, hardly ever any
modulation, but WTFDA reports an FCC axion of Feb 6: ``K226BR 93.1
Enid OK move site to 36-25-14 97-52-30`` It had been a translator of
KIMY 93.9 Watonga gospel huxter, but gone for years. May a comeback be
pending? FCC LMS shows previous NAD83 Coördinates:
36 23' 48.1" N 97 52' 39.2" W -- so moving further north and slightly
westward from the decrepit Broadway Tower in downtown Enid. Google
Maps leads to 294 East Willow Road, which is about one block west of
the studio and towers of KCRC 1390. However, that would be slightly
east rather than west of the BW tower longitude (Glenn Hauser, Enid,

** SPAIN. 17755, Feb 6 at 2304, REE African frequency still totally
off the air, not even JBA carrier into Georgia SDR, while the others
are VG 17715, 12030, 9690. Some editor will not file this under 17755
where nothing was heard, despite that being the *total point* of this

** TURKEY. 5960, Feb 6 at 2302, VOT English not off the air, S9+10/20

the air.

Not confirmed Sat Feb 7 at 1556 the 1530 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
3975 & 6160; instead, Texas Radio Shortwave preempted, now on its
daily schedule for Feb 7; they were not // maybe just not
synchronized. We`re supposed to be back next week on both, but from
Feb 28, 6160 only.

Confirmed Saturday February 7 at 1630 on WRMI 9955, S9+20 into
Knoxville SDR.

false start, ``Welcome to Encore ---``, S9+8 into Knoxville SDR, but

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` check of WBCQs, UT Sat Feb 7 at 0055: 5130 does
not cut on, nor audible on 3265, 6160 into NH SDR: only 7490. At 0100
soon obvious that it`s a rerun of the Jan 17 episode altho not so
disclaimed, with opening remarx as I logged then, ``Wow, we need the
shortwave more than ever now`` and ``hope`` - never mind (Glenn

** U S A. 13845, Feb 6 at 2307, WWCR finally back on air with one
transmitter, PMS on TUN; first noted by Ron Trotto, IL. Checked all
other possible frequencies, but nothing; not even 5935, but 13845
changes to 4840 at 0100 and still going past 0430. Circa 1550, 13845
again on air, the only WWCR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
