** BRAZIL. 6180 // 11780, Mon Feb 23 at 0750, token English from RNA, introduced as originally from March 2024 when RNA`s 50th anniversary was celebrated, explaining how it came about. At first there were some modulation dropouts if not the carriers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. Tim Hall, compiler of the IRCA Mexican Log, replies to my 590 unID: ``XEE turned off their AM last month. XEGTO is believed to be silent. They were definitely silent from at least 11/24 to 4/25, and I haven't seen any reports of them coming back on the air yet. XEPH should be // XEBS-1410, but I have never managed to log both of them simultaneously. In the western states where I DX, XEBS is an easy catch whereas XEPH is almost never heard. 73 Tim`` So by elimination that leaves ``590 XEPH CDMX México 25000 10000 Sabrosita 5-90 y 14-10, La Más Caliente, Sabrosita Digital`` as listed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 640 kHz, Feb 23 at 0600, notes of Mex NA audible here, but little chance of overcoming KWPN OK et al. IRCA Mexican Log shows three: XELOVE/XEJUA Chih, XENQ Hdgo, XETAM Tama. plus another with CP but had tested, XECCCN Zac. Local midnight is a great time to spot Mexicans at NA time, but without further clues, non-IDable. NA now also on 540, 550, 610, 690, 760 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 770, Feb 23 at 0557, Spanish, all about Kenia [¿Quenia?], 0558 full ID for XERFR, 9-70 AM, Grupo Fórmula, 50 mil watts`` and national anthem. Ahem, network relays should suppress specific IDs for originating stations. This is really XEACH in Monterrey NL, 25/1 kW, two more XEs on 770 unlikely to make it here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 1570, UT Mon Feb 23 at 0604, XERF playing Coahuila anthem, full ID for 1570 and 103.9 including street address, phone numbers, toll-free inside Mexico, 800-700-1570. Lyrix: https://educacion.seducoahuila.gob.mx/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/HIMNO-COAHUILENSE-LETRA.pdf One can also hear it via websearches (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 335 MCW kHz, Feb 23 at 0727, BK, 25-watt NDB at Brookings SD; more readable tuned to 333.5 USB; such sesquikHz offset tuning is often helpful depending on QRM situations (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5000, Feb 23 at 0614, WWV with Doppler flutter, indicating very unusual disturbed condx on normally clear blaster, which it still is on 2500. WWV reported: ``The estimated planetary K-index at 0600 UTC on 23 February was 4.67. Space weather for the past 24 hours has been minor. Geomagnetic storms reaching the G1 level occurred``(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Thanks this week to Moises J Corilloclla, Rego Park NY, originally from Peru, for a check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5935, Feb 23 at 0242, WWCR-2 is finally back on air, long after WWCR-3 resumed on 13845/4840; first reported by Ron Trotto at 2353 UT Feb 22. So 7490/12160/9350 will also be on in daytime. Usual huge signal under normal conditions. It`s nothing but TUN/DGS/PMS between 0100 & 1300. Yes, 7490 is on and blasting S9+40 at 1517 check, and after 1600 on weaker 12160 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, Feb 23 at 0611, WWCR-3 gospel huxter explaining his SW schedule in detail; missed most of it, but now about ``3215``, at 1-2 CST, for S.C. Johnson, www.mygospelhighway11.com and lots of other platforms. This is for the Church of Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith, in Philadelphia - clueless that 3215 has been off the air for many months. That website shows full schedule with many other programs on this ``radio`` station without a frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. ``Glenn, KLBJ 590 has been a 5/1 kW U2 since the mid-1940s when it was KTBC. The station had a CP for 5 kW days and 350 watts nights, both nondirectional, moving to a new, separate tower at the KVET 1300 site in north Austin, but that expired unbuilt in November 2025. On January 30 the station filed for an STA to operate with 250 watts nondirectional at night, pending repairs to the night DA towers. They are likely still operating with that at night, which is why Glenn was hearing KLBJ in Enid. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED [non]. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Feb 23 at 0555: complete bandscan at 9-kHz intervals tuning USB at 1 kHz below TA frequencies: not a trace. Everything is against this: more and more Euros off the air, or reduced power, notably Spain; incessant local noise level; uncoöperative propagation; inadequate antennas? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1928 UT February 23
