FT-2 is a new digital mode developed for amateur radio. Its transmission cycle is said to be 3.8 seconds as compared to FT-4 which is 7.5 seconds and FT-8 which is 15 seconds. So it is now possible to complete an amateur contact in less than 8 seconds. Currently, FT-8 is the most popular of the digital modes.
