** BRAZIL. 28450 USB, March 23 at 2213, PY4JW quickly working US stations, QRZ? Only a few phonesigs make it thru the local S9 high local line noise level here. Must get the OG&E guy on it. A quick multi-band scan MHz by MHz on the R75, finds the worst noise peaks on 28, 19, 8 down to 4 MHz. QRZ.com: ``PY4JW Brazil flag Brazil, JÉBER WILKER COLARES, Rua Rio Pardo 244 - Centro, Taiobeiras-MG - Cep 39550-000, Brazil`` page full of certificates and antenna shots (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA [non]. 13650, March 23 at 2306, CRI ``Portuguese`` music fill via CUBA is missing; apagón aftermath saving the ChiCom some pesos? Doubt it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, March 23 at 2224, RHC dead air with howl now here instead of 15140 earlier in day; while 11880 is S9+10/30 in Spanish, but somewhat undermod with hum. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9710, March 24 at 0630, RHC with S9 dead air with some hum; and 11760, S7/9+20 of DA with windhowl. Ho, hum, the incompetence prolongs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 9800 USB, March 24 at 0213, S9+20 of Mix Radio International with heavily produced IDs; tnx to this tip: ``[WOR] Mix Radio International on 9800 USB as of 0200 UTC - This North American pirate's playing electronic and contemporary music up in the 31-meter band tonight. I'm hearing a very good signal via an SDR in Wisconsin. Out here near Seattle where we're still pre-sunset, I'm getting just barely audible music at times. Eric Fetters-Walp, Lake Stevens, Washington USA. My QSL website: https://treehouseswl.mystrikingly.com `` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 95.5, March 23 circa 2340 UT, it`s been quite a while since I have driven thru the intersexion of S. Cleveland & W. Owen K. Garriott in Enid, where there has been the focal point of a very weak pirate with rock music. Yes, it`s still there, undermodulated rock and $ tereo pilot is on; barely enough to overcome the adjacent 95.7 local and two fringe Okies on 95.5 itself. Never heard any announcements, let alone ID, but never listened for more than a few minutes. Meanwhile no signals around downtown on 93.1 or 95.1 today nor lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 16, Virtual 46, KOCM Norman OK, is only 27 kW ERP, and usually not strong enough to decode thru my antenna, altho its main channel is on coveted low cable channel 6. Gospel huxters. However, when I am getting it direct with a bit of tropo help? I discover 46-3, KOCM-SD which is Daystar Reflections [sic, no x`s here!], showing scenes of nature with locations captioned, and quiet relaxing music, not necessarily religious, with Bible verses - if you ignore those intrusions, it`s quite pleasant. March 24 circa 0500 UT, after watching only a couple hours, I hope I am correct that it`s 24/7 like this? Here`s the full network listing: https://www.rabbitears.info/search.php?request=network_search&network=Daystar+Reflections (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 23 at 2306, VOT is JBA direct, presumably in English. Maybe will be much better from next week on 11785 at 2200 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2339 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday March 24 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, VG S9+10 into S Texas SDR. Once again a preceding talk program cut off abruptly at 0330; I have no idea what it be. Need to check at 0300. Also confirmed Tuesday March 24 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, S7/S9. Also confirmed Tuesday March 24 at 1400 on WRMI 9955, by now degraded to S5/S6. Many thanks this week to Gerald T Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous seasonal check marking Vernal Equinox to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, March 23 at 2140, George McClintock notifies me that this WTWW transmitter is finally back on the air, so unless something else go wrong, WORLD OF RADIO should appear UT Saturday at 0300. Not on the air when I turn on right away, but is at 2200 into Georgia SDR with `Scriptures for America`, S9+35, then cut modulation, so just testing. At 2208 direct, S9+10/20 vs high local noise level. Off at 2303, but sked before fracasal was limited, only from 0100? But still not back on air after 0100 or before 0300 March 24 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, Mon Mar 23 at 2018, WRMI in Russian, S6/S8. Altho have added some seculars like R. Liberty and WRN clients, this on System G is `E. Bible Fellowship` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, Mon Mar 23 at 2222, S9/+10 of dead air from WRMI-11 which skedgrid shows xmtr not starting until 2300 with System D. Nor accounted for in any other System program grid. At 2300 starts to play `Joy to the World`, harmonious version with guitar & chorus in English; what? Xmas carols can`t be played in March! 2305 segué to another song. Certainly not RAE relay in Portuguese as still scheduled, nor in Japanese, Chinese or Spanish. What next? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1440 kHz, KPUR Amarillo: more about that as in previous log, from radio-locator.com about its FM side: ``Claude, Texas, "Texas 95.7 the Armadillo", Station Format: Country, tell me about "Country" stations, find more Country stations. https://www.957kpur.com/ :website`` Note: may well be the only station formerly named for an armadillo -- or was that a typo for Amarillo?! WTFDA FMDB finds none in the Slogan field. BTW, we have a resident armadillo on our property; need to ask if s/he be familiar with KPUR. See: https://www.nwf.org/Magazines/National-Wildlife/2019/April-May/Animals/Armadillos https://nickfinder.com/Armadillo https://fulcharmnames.com/funny-names-for-armadillos/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9695, March 24 at 0214, classical music, as first reported by John Figliozzi, presumably still in Florida: ``9695 - Classical music from an as yet undetermined and unlisted station (China via Cuba perhaps?)`` - surely not, but I hear more of it at 0629, S5. Nothing at all listed at these times in Aoki, EiBi - could it be a new A26 operation jumping the gun? Nothing there either nor in B25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2037 UT March 24
