Glenn Hauser logs March 24-25, 2026
Thursday, March 26 2026

Logs
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Tue Mar 24 at 2258, WRMI with `Top of Hour`
IS & ID; 2300 cut to JIP not RAE, but domestic R. Nacional ID with 8
pm timecheck, talk about stupid ballgames. 2302 show about ``vocación
nacional``. Usual VG sig aimed right at us (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See
also USA

** ARGENTINA [and non]. 28398 USB, March 24 at 2217, LW3DG quick
contact with XE1RIA also audible, in Spanish, then LW3DG calling CQ in
English. QRZ.com: ``LW3DG Argentina flag Argentina, Eduardo Gómez, QTH
Postcard: Av Dardo Rocha 433 entre 4 y 5 Berazategui, CP: B 1884
Buenos Aires Argentina B 1884, Argentina`` with a lot about the
hassles of QSLing. And:

``XE1RIA Mexico flag Mexico, ADONIS IGLESIAS RODRIGUEZ, P. O. BOX
19-052, D.F. 03901, Mexico`` -- so call = initials in reverse order.

Only few other sigs audible on 10m but unlike yesterday not because of
S9 local high line noise level. A few hours after I left a message for
the OG&E noise guy, it`s greatly diminished to virtually S0: but I`m
afraid that`s coincidental. Still pretty high on LW (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 11950, March 24 at 2212, RHC Spanish S9+10 with goodmod,
while // 11760 is S9/+10 with windhowl. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9710, March 25 at 0619, RHC S9+25 somewhat overmodulated in
Spanish, along with 9395 WRMI the SSOB by far (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, March 25 at 0633, R. Rebelde, S9+25 of dead air in
Spanish; next check 1355, no trace of a carrier. SAWA (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** HONDURAS. 28470 USB, March 25 at 2202, HQ9UM, YL op with quick
contacts, QRZ? At 2259 now an OM op, says power 900 watts. QRZ.com:
``HQ9UM Honduras flag Honduras, Theodore A "Ted" Krieger, 4593 Tally
Ho Trail, BOULDER, CO 80301, USA -- Violetta (KN2P), Ted (N7VZ), and
Mark (W7UM) operating from Roatan Island, Honduras (IOTA NA-057). 24
March - 31 March 2026, QRV for CQ WW WPX SSB`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MONTSERRAT. 28405 USB, March 25 at 2159, quick US contacts; must
be some contest. QRZ.com: ``VP2MPN Montserrat flag Montserrat, Corey
Landrum, Po Box 28432, Henrico, VA 23228, USA.
Island Hopper Group will be operating from Gingerbread Hill in St
Peters Montserrat for CQWW SSB``. The local line noise level on 10m
now is up to S6/S7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 5140 USB, Wed March 25 from 1400 UT, weekly net
opened by YL NCS this week, WSHM692, ``Oklahoma --?-- HF test net``,
counts 12345 54321, 30 second pause to tune your transmitters. Breanna
gives her ham call KM4UJS, otherwise WSHM692, and 1402 starts roll
call, each a second time if no answer first time, which the alternate
OM NCS does not do. Letters in calls always pronounced fonetikaly, and
mentions locations unlike the alternate OM NCS:
WQYW443, Beckham County ESP [or EFT? several with letters like this,
not sure of them];
WQZT582, Broken Arrow;
WQSY836, Byng EOC, Jeff ans, no traffic;
WNPV700, Durant ESP, Bill, no traffic, loud & clear;
WQYW883, City of Moore ESP, ans?;
WNUW216, Oklahoma City, Max[?];
WNUW215, Ponca City EOC, VG, Jason answers, tnx for warm welcome last
week, L&C;
KNGR728, Pontotoc County EOC, Chad ans; asks if she heard Byng;
WPFY721, Seminole EOC, Ernie ans;
WNBM839, Stillwater, Joe ans;
WNCH624, Tulsa EOC;
WNBE830, Missouri State EOC, Jefferson City, Corey ans;
1408: any others? No, closes net till same time next week;
1409 informal QSO WNBE830 and WPFY721;
1410 Wild Bill in Durant contacts Ernie in Seminole, about weather,
housing, Silo school district, millage rate; WNPV700 slips and gives
his? ham call NR5X? unfonetik, before closing at 1415. But that is
someone else in Caddo (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ST LUCIA. 21289 USB, Mar 25 at 2206, J62K, CQ and quick contest
contacts. Pauses between the 6 and the 2; so J6 is the prefix, not 62?
QRZ.com, with 13 strict rules for QSLing: ``J62K St Lucia flag St
Lucia, SLCC Saint Lucia Contest Club, Soufriere, St Lucia`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 12030 & 9690, Mar 25 at 2256, REE roughly equal good signals
direct, but 12030 less noisy even tho it`s aimed away from US, for
2300 token English on Wednesdays; much better than 17715 for S
America. The heavily accented M&W intro and 2301 news leading with PM
Sánchez expressing opposition to Drumpf`s war on Iran, likely to lead
to negative consequences for Spain. I expect Ken Zichi will report a
very detailed log of this hour, so I don`t have to (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TAIWAN [non]. 17790 // 15770, March 25 at 2212, R. Taiwán
Internacional via WRMI, equally VG S9+20/30 and S9+20, after contact
info, `Taiwán en 360 Grados`, interviewing visiting alcalde de
Belmopán, Belice (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, March 24 at 2300, VOT probably JBA direct opening
English, not off the air but sufficient into UTwente.

5960, March 25 at 2301, NO signal direct, and still no signal at 2338
into UTwente, just Chinese. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler.
No 9610 overrun either (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2339 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
March 24 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.996, S9 into nearby
Noale SDR.

Also confirmed UT Wednesday March 25 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+30 into
Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed UT Wednesday March 25 from 0031 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 3975.002, S2/S3 JBA into Carlow, Ireland SDR, not into
UTwente.

Also confirmed Wednesday March 25 at 2031 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
3975.001-, S9+5/10 into UTwente.

Also confirmed Wednesday March 25 at 2101 on WBCQ 7490 -80 Hz =
7489.920, S8/9+5 into NH SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday March 25 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+30 into
Georgia SDR. Next:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160?;
2330 UT Thursday WRMI 5950 to NNW.

Many thanks this week to Gerald T Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous
seasonal check marking Vernal Equinox to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684,
Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

``Glenn, WTWW 5085 will be up and running this Friday night and your
program, if nothing else bad happens --- still finishing repairs and
adding a new audio filter to reduce bandwidth. George McClintock
3-24-2026`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9930, March 25 at 1842, WTWW is unusually OFF, no TOMBS.
Propagation poor but WWCR 13845 & 12160 still inboom. All would be
SSOB. Greenvilles also audible but hardly strongs. 9930 back on at 2030
check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9455, March 25 at 2218 and still 2222, WRMI with S9+10 of
dead air - or trace of mod? or cross-mod. Not checked after 2230
whether still DA, but at 2255, presumably from usual 2250, the IS&IS
loop leading up to resuming programming at top-of-hour, which it does
with VORW since this is Wednesday. At 2330 keeps going rather than
chopped off like last weeks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also
ARGENTINA [non]

** U S A. 7505, March 25 at 0625, WRNO still on, only S6/S7 with JBM
music, English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1330 kHz, March 25 at 2224 UT, routine daytime bandscan
notices that KNSS is quite undermodulated compared to neighbor of
approx. equal strength S9+10, 1340 KGHM MWC, or anything else; just as
it IDs as ``KNSS, Wichita`s #1 talk`` along with FM 98.7 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
