** ARGENTINA [non]. 15770, Fri March 27 at 1212, RAE via WRMI, S9 direct, from Spanish to multilingual ID reel, then in Italian, about genetix and space. Italian is axually the language sked this hour M-F on System C as in the RAE-only grid, but in the System C grid itself, shows 1200-1230 only and something else 1230-1300, when I have yet to check. Months ago, an Italian DXer asked me to confirm Italian from RAE, but I try not to be awake at this time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Fri Mar 27 at 2300, after ToH runup, RAE via WRMI, multi-lingual ID reel twice in a row, S9+40, 2302 tangos, and nothing but good music further on, including 2332 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 25875 LSB, March 27 at 2218, unID in colloquial Brasuguese, beeps, extended CB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA [non]. 5990, March 27 at 2312, S9+10 of dead air in CRI relay via CUBA; and no signals at all on 13650; nor RHC 11950. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** COSTA RICA. 28467- USB, March 27 at 2214, TI2VVV calling CQ DX and working; slightly low in frequency. QRZ.com: ``TI2VVV Costa Rica flag Costa Rica, Victor carrera, San Jose Costa Rica, hatillo, Costa Rica`` and full of certificates (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5025, March 27 at 0635, S9+20 of dead air from R. Rebelde, proving that waste of precious electricity is inconsequential. Something`s always wrong at Radiocuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, March 27 at 2226, S9 of dead air with windhowl from RHC; 11880 clear DA S9+20; both same still at 2314 check. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GALAPAGOS [non]. 28444 USB, March 27 at 2306, HC8M/5, quickie DX contacts, for a contest? Heavy accent, fonetix sound like Japón Charlie 8 mike, slash 5, but must have been Hotel, ``not in Galápagos``, i.e. back on continental Ecuador, but still good for WPX purposes?? QRZ.com: ``HC8M Galapagos Islands flag Galapagos Islands, Contest Station, Edgar Villavicencio, San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** JAPAN. 774, March 27 at 1217, not even a JBA carrier from NHK-2, a 500 kW outlet I have DXed in the past here unto deep North America as perhaps the most likely E Asian signal; TP MWDXing has not been feasible since I became a night owl needing to sleep well past sunrise; nor the three other 500 kW NHK2s on 693, 747, 873 kHz, any of which I would like to hear one more time before they`re gone, as notified in the WOR iog and on WOR 2340: ``NHK announced R2 will close its 95 years history at 1505 UT on March 29, 2026. At 1500-1505 last closing message will be on air. Most of the programs of R2 will be transferred to "NHK AM" (former R1) and "NHK FM" after March 30, except; Arabic Lesson, News in Thai/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese (to online only), Stock Market Reports, "Easy Japanese" (to NHK World Radio Japan) and other 4 programs. The transmission licenses of all R2 stations (including 4 500 kW sites - Shobu (Tokyo) 693 kHz, Ebetu (Sapporo) 747 kHz, Ogata (Akita) 774 kHz, Otsu (Kumamoto) 873 kHz) will be expired after April 1, 2026. Takahito Akabayashi, Tokyo, Japan`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 28480 USB, March 27 at 2212, ZL1WN calling CQ and working WA2QWP, unheard. Good signal unlike 17675 RNZI at 2224, JBA carrier, which is operating about 10/11 MHz too low for the MUF!
