Hauser
** BRAZIL. 11780, Thu Dec 4 at 0749, RNA already in American token
English, about Samba/Reggae. S9+5/15 here but not // on much weaker
6180, some other music. Recheck before 0800, same in Spanish on 11780.
Could 6180 also be RNA as expected but with different program feed?
Nothing else listed at this time. Sort of makes sense, as 6180 is more
for a domestic audience (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 5025, Dec 4 at 0800 and earlier, R. Rebelde is off.
Explaining the absence of any RHC/China relay frequencies earlier on
Dec 3, a Fox `news` bit I happened to hit tuning across KXEL 1540 at
0802: blackout covering the western half of Cuba! Here`s RHC itself
about that as of Dec 4:

https://www.radiohc.cu/restablecido-el-sistema-electrico-nacional-pero-persisten-afectaciones/
1000 megawatt apagón blamed on a shortage of fuel for generators. RHC
not rechecked until 1720: into Georgia SDR, 11880 is back on, loud
S9+5/15, also // 15140 S9+15/20 but sounding much weaker with usual
windhowl.

BTW, when I was trying to reach RHC website, I ran across this HUGE
ARCHIVE of VOA SW Radiograms and other programs, major references
such as HFCC back to 2011:
http://www.rhci-online.net/radiogram/radiogram.htm
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2324)

** FRANCE. 21660, MiniTransAt: from Terry Krueger, NW FL, 0535 UT Dec
4: ``Glenn - I assumed they were done on the 3 Dec check. No trace at
1500Z. I left the channel on while doing tasks around the house. Then
they suddenly appeared at 1506, at the ending of the forecast by the
French accented lady in English. “Goodbye, see you tomorrow” (not sure
how one “sees” via radio). Techno vocals, off 1515. Local level as
always. Apparently a malfunction starting time making the transmission
useless for the boater if he was even listening to antiquated
shortwave. How long will it take one stinking slow boat off Guadeloupe
to make it? I guess they’ll be back 4 Dec but I won’t be home to
check``

I do check it Dec 4: 21660 on air *1503-1515*: JIP English weather
info, for Wednesday the 19th [! of November], also mention Thursday
20th - so is playing back oldstuff on autopilot? At 1507 she says
``See you tomorrow``, and music, more songs at 1510, 1514 to chopoff
1515* which seems to be SOP now. Was S4/S5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF
RADIO 2324)

** NEW ZEALAND. Re: 28228, ZL3TEN not in QRZ.com: ``Hi Glenn! Take
another look. ZL3TEN is run by the Christchurch VHF DX Group:
https://www.qrz.com/db/ZL3TEN
Steve Howe`` - Not sure how I missed that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. Re: no English yet. This from Michael Andersson in bdxc-news
Dec 4: ``R Exterior de España - English programmes --- I got this
reply today, so a near future comeback is to expect. Good news!

"Hello Michael, Thank you so much for the messages and for listening
us. Marilyn left, as you know, and now we, the two new hosts, are
starting again with the broadcast next week, we needed some training
and time to adapt but next wednesday we will be on air again. Best
wishes, Daniel Riobóo"`` {same also via Simon Frech}

Ken Zichi replies Dec 4: Re: [WOR] Still no English from Spain -- I
too sent an email. Marilyn (Q I presume) responded and told me she was
being told REE was 'well heard' in North America and they had many
reception reports (those were the words she used....) She thought
there may be something wrong with 'my equipment'.

I responded to THAT saying 'someone is not telling you the full story'
and relayed that the North American beamed frequencies have been off
the air for MONTHS, I was not the only person noticing that, and it
was near impossible to hear them since the season change. I even sent
audio recordings in a separate message to demonstrate how poorly they
were received.

She replied that she would be 'on vacation for a week' and would
follow up when she got back. I then saw a post here that she was
moving to a different department and there would be new EE host(s) but
I've heard nothing directly back from Marilyn or anyone else at REE
since then. I tried again this AM to the 'general' email -- we'll see
if I get a response! Thanks for also trying. I'm curious to hear if
you get a response! 73 //Ken Z`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
2324)

As a noncommercial public service program, financial support
appreciated. Thanks this week to Dr Richard Langley, New Brunswick,
for a contribution via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to:
woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``Hi Glenn: About time I made another
contribution. It goes without saying what a great service you supply
to the shortwave enthusiast community. We're getting smaller and older
but to rephrase a familiar expression, "keep listening and carry on"
-- Richard Langley``

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5850, Thu Dec 4 at 0747, S9+35/45 of classical music on
WRMI-12; WRN relay of Deutsche Welle is scheduled daily except Sundays
with WOR during this semihour. I would have guessed it were `Encore`
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4840, Thu Dec 4 at 0745, WWCR is S9+40/50 of dead air in
English. Scheduled at 0730-0800 M-F on WWCR-3 is `Insight for Living`,
Chuck Swindoll. Will he get a refund or make-good? Did he or anyone at
WWCR know it was mute? May depend on whom to blame (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11757.47 approx., Dec 3 at 2323, JBA carrier, presumably
latest skewage of R. Voz Missionária, nominal 11750 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** BRAZIL. 28411 USB, Dec 3 at 2307, PU2TWZ, in São Paulo, contacts
including WA4TW at 2308. QRZ.com: ``PU2TWZ Brazil flag Brazil,
Jroberto, ROBERTO "Roberto" LEONEL, Avenida Andorinha 182 Cep 13197428
Monte Mor, sp 55, Brazil`` - I thought he said name was Oscar but
maybe that was a contact.

28415 USB, Dec 3 at 2310, PY3ZA apparently contacting another
Brasilian. QRZ.com: ``PY3ZA Brazil flag Brazil, ALEXANDRE "XANDAO"
FOLATRE, RUA MARIA ODETE DE OLIVEIRA CHARAO 363, Alvorada, RS 94859060
Brazil`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also unID 25955 LSB

** CUBA. 11880, 11760, 15140, 13780, 15230, Dec 3 at 2044 all RHC
frequencies are OFF. Another check at 2321, still all those off, and
not even the China relay on 13650; lower bands not checked. SAWA
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHILE. 28495 USB, Dec 3 at 2313, CE5VKK contacting KA9G. QRZ.com:
``CE5VKK Chile flag Chile, Boris Monares, Avda. 101 Condominio 1777,
Casa 6, Concepción 4030000, Chile`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Dec 3 at 1950+ UT, driving around Enid checking the 93.1
dead air in $ tereo. Not just in my neighborhood, but seems stronger
circa downtown, so perhaps on the east side. At 2028 I`m at the
junxion of US 412 & US 81, where 1680 AM peaks, and now on 93.1 there
is some intermittent undermodulated Xmasmx, and at 2033. No modulation
at all from this until now. Seems to be from this transmitter rather
than an understation which would be more confusable on AM.

95.1, meanwhile is off while I am downtown, but later at 2028 seems to
cut on and off sporadically with music, again not like would be heard
from the real KS or OK fringers.

1680 kHz, Dec 3 at 2000 UT, hourtop ID as Virtual DJ Radio, into
Xmasmx medley starting with Jingle Bells (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 12030, Wed Dec 3 at 2300, REE S7/10 direct off the back of
ME beam, and S9/+10 on 17715 aimed at S America, still no signal on
imaginary 9690 for N America. But as anticipated, NO ENGLISH, rather
Spanish program `La Sala` as on their advance schedule.

Ahead of time, I posted to the WOR indian ocean group: ``If it`s
Wednesday there must still not be any English from Spain. Advance
program sked for Thu 0000 local time shows something in Spanish; nor
Wednesday at 12 local.
https://www.rtve.es/play/guia-rne/radioexterior/manana/
nor any other time. And the last English podcast is still dated 19
Nov, with the two ex-announcers Amy & Marilyn still heading it:
https://www.rtve.es/play/audios/english-language-broadcast/
Glenn``

Alan Roe replied: ``I have emailed englishbroadcast@rtve.es and
english@rtve.es to let them know that I am missing their English
programme and wondering what is happening. I'll let you know if I get
any reply. In the meanwhile, it wouldn't do any harm if other
listeners also wrote to those email addresses asking where English
programming is. Alan Roe, Teddington, UK``

I replied: ``I`ve finally just listened to the end of the last
podcast, Nov 19 starting about 55 minutes into the 62+ minute file,
``We`ll meet again...`` song. Marilyn does not say there would be two
new hosts the following week, but rather ``in future programs``. But
we should keep after them about this. Glenn``

And from Jean-Michel Aubier, France: ``The latest French-language
podcast was released on Nov 18. I also wrote to the team`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 3 at 2259, no signal direct from VOT; at 2332,
not either into UTwente, just ChiCom stuff on 9610 as well.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15016 USB, Dec 3 at 2302, USAF EAM crypto message with echo,
also on // 11175 USB & 8992 USB which have self-imposed? crackles and
less of an echo, more like reverb. Alfanumerix in progress, ending
with message had 164 characters, more than usual: we can only wonder
if this concern real current military operations rather than practice?
``This is start-gun, out`` Sounded like, not sure of ever-changing
tactical call, at 2304. But after a pause, starts all over, ``All
stations, this is Start-Gun``, twice; then intro as ``7D2LTJ, stand
by`` a few times before repeating the entire message starting with
those (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2323 monitoring: confirmed
Wednesday December 3 at 2047 the 2030 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, JBA
into UTwente with noise QRM on low side; good into Bedford UK SDR but
with same QRM.

Also confirmed Wednesday December 3 at 2200 on WBCQ 7490 -40 Hz =
7489.960 into Maryland SDR, higher than usual; calibration not
rechecked, S9/+10. Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW ;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160.

As a noncommercial public service program, financial support
appreciated. Thanks this week to Gilles Letourneau, Québec for a
contribution via PayPal not necessarily in US funds to:
woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, Wed Dec 3 at 2258, WRMI wrapping up `On the Media`
from WNYC, host appending request for input from SWLs in particular. I
regret not having tuned this every week; however someone reported that
the same episode was playing over and over week after week on WRMI. Is
that still the case? I`m afraid it is: WRMI server shows the only
episode was uploaded March 1, 2025! There are several other times for
it on the WRMI schedules (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** URUGUAY. 28395 USB, Dec 3 at 2307, CX7RM, fonetik ID in English,
heard again. QRZ.com: ``CX7RM Uruguay flag Uruguay, Pablo Goldaracena
Sommaruga, Pinares Calle Sagitario, Punta del Este 20005, Uruguay``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 25955 LSB, Dec 3 at 2316, correct frequency! apparent
freebander mentioning frequency in Brasuguese and 20:16 localtime in
Paraná, interspersed with beeps, S1/S3. Some other similar signals
inside the so-called 11m SWBC band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, Dec 2 at 2129, RHC IS and Portuguese ID, program, VG
direct. WRTH *2025* showed PP at 2130-2200 on 15140 for *North*
America; only other on at 2300-2400 on 15230 for S America, not found
lately. Was the 23 including a replay of the previous half-hour? By
2259 today, 11880 is off; 11760 windhowl at S9+20 and still no mod at
2320. However, S9+20 dead air on 13650 at 2259 becomes CRI IS at 2300,
Chinese ID and s/on in ``Portuguese`` to be music fill only. Fairly
good modulation level but somewhat distorted, tsk2. SAWA RHC &
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. Re my missing checking 21660 Dec 1 & 2, From Terry Krueger,
Dec 2: ``Glenn, MiniTransAt: They were on 1500-1515 at the usual
21660, local level here in NW Florida. If I copied the heavily
accented lady, it was scheduled to be the last transmission as the
remaining boat was approaching Guadeloupe later in the day. Worth
checking again tomorrow. Did it take Columbus, Ponce de Leon, Narvaez
et al this long to cross the Atlantic?``.

21660, Dec 3 at 1500 past 1503, no signal from MiniTransAt, so
apparently finished, and on same rx I keep checking 5140 for OK
security net, q.v., and hear some of that. There is a JBA carrier on
21690, from France, so prop is sufficient despite K-index of 4.67. But
by next check of 21660 at 1510, it`s *on with music, S4/S6, and by
nextnext check at 1515 it`s off* already (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN. 28420 USB, Dec 2 at 2314, JA1NFM, Hiro making a contact.
QRZ.com: ``JA1NFM Japan flag Japan, Hiroshi "Hiro" Takahashi, 1150-81
Shikawatashi, Yotsukaido Chiba 2840003, Japan`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11500-11550, Dec 3 at 1547, no signals from Dengê
Gel nor Turkish jammer, so it`s really all over per this:

``I have just found this news: `Radyoya Dengê Gel, which for years was
the voice of the Kurdish people from the mountains to the prisons, has
ended its 23-year broadcasting life` [...] One of the coordinators of
Radyoya Dengê Gel, Mustafa Rêzan, stated that the first radio
broadcasting in Kurdish media began in October 1992 with Dengê
Kurdistana Serbixwe and continued in 1995 with Dengê Mezopotamya.
[...] this journey continued in 2012 under the name Dengê Kurdistan.
[...] Dengê Kurdistan continued steadfastly until 2016, after which it
went on under the name Dengê Welat, and from 2023 onward under the
name Dengê Gel...`
english.anf-news.com/news/the-voice-of-the-revolution-radyoya-denge-gel-has-ended-its-broadcasts-82451
via Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.``

What is ANF? Ajansa Nûçeyan a Firatê which means Euphrates News
Agency, in Kurmanji Kurdish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALI [and non]. 13685, Dec 3 at 1545, S4/S6 discussion in English
about China, so CRI Bamako relay to EAfrica as sked; with 13830,
Vatican listed in Amharic, the only significant overseasigs on band,
beyond the USAs blasting on 13570, 13820, 13845 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 28228 CW, Dec 2 at 2304, EEEEEEE DE ZL3TEN, beacon
without a /B, fadey. Not in QRZ.com but WGB list: ``28228.0 ZL3TEN -
Rolleston, Christchurch NZL RE66ej - #0 (21 Oct 2024) Note: ID + grid
+ eee`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 255 MCW kHz, Dec 3 at 0716 UT, no signal from SW, NDB at
StillWater, nor recently, but now I`m sure it must be off, since much
furthers are now audible vs noise level, such as 245 FS Sioux FallS
SD, and 251 AM AMarillo TX. More at USA (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 5140 USB, Wed Dec 3 at 1503, WNPV700 in Durant
checking in to a net. Strongest signal heard of group, and the NCS is
much weaker almost JBA; WPFY721, previously located as in Seminole. I
started monitoring about 1459, but on a single receiver switching back
and forth with 21660 FRANCE, q.v. Also possible alt 7477 USB, but
which after 1500 was hit by splat from 7490 WWCR. Rollcall with a
number of callsigns in same format, 4 letters fonetikaly and three
numbers so the letters are more likely to be accurate than the
numbers. But replies mostly uncopied, including: WNUW215?, KNBR72#?
Pontotoc County, WN##212, WNBM839 Stillwater, and definitely WNBE830
in Jefferson City MO, i.e. the net to follow this one.

At 1508 mention Oklahoma Operational Security Net, I think, and refers
to next week, hoping for more checkins than this week, with no-shows.
Just before 1509, ``WPFY721, clear`` but then another contact from
Missouri. Recheck at 1530, algo JBA, presumed Missouri net but likely
to be even less audible than the OK, I don`t attempt to monitor any
further. See my previous log/reports about this Oct 1 at:
https://www.w4uvh.net/ghlogs_2025_0925_1001.txt
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 93.1, Re the dead air in $ tereo, it`s gone later Dec 2
circa 2130 UT, which is neither here nor there. Meanwhile my inquiry
to Donald Williamson at the email address of record at FCC LMS,
bounced: ``Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the
following address. <dwilliamson@onalot.com>: Unable to deliver message
after multiple retries, giving up`` Maybe changed to offalot?! The DA
is on again Dec 3 at 1800 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 2 at 2256-2300+ no signal direct from VOT; at
2257 also music on 9610 but not the TRT IS. At 2335 into UTwente, weak
Chinese on 5960.000+, and something else not VOT on 9610, which could

** BRAZIL. 11780, Dec 2 at 0750, no signal from RNA when token English
would air; 6180 JBA carrier. Bad prop or really off? Nothing else
listed by Aoki & EiBi at this hour on 6180 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Dec 2 at 0756, S9+20/30 of dead air in Spanish from R.
Rebelde. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13650, Dec 1 at 2303, Chinese music filler for years instead
of CRI Portuguese relay, VG S9+10. No RHC 15s, 13780 on air but also:
11760, S9+10 huge windhowl noise; 11880, S7/S9 of dead air; 5990 at
2315 CRI English relay S9+10/30. Somethings always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Dec 2 at 2044, RHC English is back on, S9+30 but hard
to hear under the windhowl; // 11880 is VG clear modulation and
S9+25/35 signal into Georgia SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 9590 // 9800, Dec 1 at 2307, music and Chinese,
S9+20/30 with flutter, CRI as scheduled in Spanish to S America via
Kashgar, land of imperialist ChiCom cultural genocide against Uighurs
and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 21660, MiniTransAt: I missed checking Dec 1 & 2, so unknown
whether still transmitting, at least for a few minutes at 1500 daily.
Anyone notice? Will try to get it Dec 3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, Dec 1 at 2030 UT, OG&E `Tree of Lights` in downtown
Enid, still on, but dead air in $ tereo when I check. It might still
resume over the next month with music like last year past Xmas. I
photoed the sign about it, much like last year. New one:
https://www.w4uvh.net/95.1_OG&E_Enid_1225.jpg
It`s still on but DA in $ at 1810 UT Dec 2, audible more than a mile
away, but not enough to completely block the KS & OK fringers normally
vying on 95.1 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 93.1, Dec 2 at 1810 UT, while checking the 95.1 OG&E in
Enid, I also notice a stronger deadair in stereo on 93.1, which is
normally clear for the fringer in KS if not southern OK. Haven`t
driven around yet to assess its range, but used to be a translator
here, still licensed as in FCC LMS: 93.1 K266BR, #156415, Donald
Williamson, P O Box 246, Weleetka OK 74880, licensed, expires 6/1/29;
as of 7/24/07, site on the decrepit Broadway Tower in downtown; so I
have emailed him: ``Mr Williamson, I am hearing an open carrier in
stereo here in Enid on 93.1 MHz, so I wonder if this is your K266BR
which used to translate KIMY, about to resume after several years off?
Or it could be someone`s idle RF feeder such as in a car. Regards,
Glenn Hauser, Enid`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 1 at 2300, not off the air, timesig and VOT S/on
in English as if it`s 13635 at 1330! Something`s always awry at
Ankara. Despite S9/+10 on meter direct it`s really too noisy to hear
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
