Glenn Hauser logs March 20-21, 2026  View Printable Version
Saturday, March 21 2026

Logs
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Fri Mar 20 at 2330, as I predicted in
previous report, WRMI relay of RAE cuts to dead air, but not off the
air, and re-signs-on from 2350 runup to ToH. I`ve again informed Jeff
about this anomaly/mixup which has been happening every day, also
disrupting VORW and WOR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, March 21 at 0637, S8 dead air in Spanish from RHC,
only here, not 9710. But 5025, March 21 at 0639 S9+40 of dead air in
Spanish from R. Rebelde. Precious electricity and the fuel to generate
it going totally to waste. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2339 monitoring: confirmed Friday
March 20 at 2330 on SW Radio Gold, Germany, 3975 but JBA into Ireland
and England SDRs, even more JBA into UTwente.

Also confirmed Saturday March 21 at 0940 the 0930 on WRMI 7570,
S9+20/30 direct and not on 9455 as still wrong on skedgrid.

Also confirmed Saturday March 21 at 1531 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,

Also confirmed Saturday March 21 at 1544 the 1530 on WRMI 9955, S9+5

propagation degraded. Next:

Many thanks this week to Gerald T Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous
seasonal check marking Vernal Equinox to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684,
Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5130 -60 Hz = 5129.940, Fri Mar 20 at *2355, this WBCQ cuts
on with The Planet IS & ID reel, S9+10/25 into Vermont SDR which WWV
says is accurately calibrated; unlike WBCQ; and shortly 6160 -71 Hz =
6159.929 is also on and //, S9+5/20, but I soon notice that 6160
modulation is slightly louder than 5130. 7490 -49 Hz = 7489.951 is
wrapping up FKB, and by 0000 UT Sat Mar 21, I switch to webcast, `WTO`
theme of `AAAWWW`, first interjexion maybe ``re-up``? Not sure. Later,
``Yes, we are real, we are not Memorex...``. So it`s another
non-rerun.

As often, starts fiddling with their microphoniums [sic, he means
microphonia], and why doesn`t he get that all set before going on air?
Ah, it`s so ``live``. Then on and on about audio processing. Angela
sneezes and is blessed at 0008; then I zone out. By 0030 still on same
subject. 0038 says trimulcasting on 7, 6 and 5. Names some new
programs, Upstream, Servants of God; and unnamed one yet by a guy in
Portland ME. Then warns elders to beware of scams, as in latest AARP
magazine; AI is a *tool* which can be used for good or evil, but it is
increasing ``expeditionally`` [sic] as he says thrice rather than
``exponentially``.

0047 finally music break by Beatles, a tune I do not recognise. 0049
fiddling with mixe again, loose connexion, testing. 0052 situation at
the 9330 Superstition = still looking for major client to lease it for
6, 12, 18 or 24hpd; too expensive to operate it for shorter periods;
takes 45 minutes to turn it on including 30 minutes to warm up major
tube. Does not mention possible Hal Turner this time for 6 hours on
Saturdays. Recommends `Le Show` Suns 7 pm ET as Harry Shearer has been
with WBCQ since the beginning. 0054 emails: report that CBS Radio News
is shutting down. 0059 prayer. At 0100, 7490 goes to rock show, `High
Voltage` --- despite websked still showing Hal Turner! and HV nowhen;
6160 pause and s/off despite websked also still showing Hal Turner;
5130 to some other music, despite outdated websked not showing fq at
all on UT Sat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Huge tropo blob from TX to FL and rather far inland on the
DXMAP, but Enid is on the edge, March 21 at 1459 UT. DTV bandscan hits
numerous `bad` or `NO` signals on open channels, but one decodes well:
RF 26, KTALDT 6-1. Yes, no hyphen in the call displayed. NBC
programming. That`s Shreveport LA, the station with a ``tall``
antenna. I don`t get any 6-2 or further subchannels. Holds up until
1515, and occasionally pops in during next semihour. Distance from
Vivian LA site to Enid is 529 km = 329 miles. Some closer signals from
Tulsa, Eufaula, Fort Smith also in, and some OKC signals became BAD
presumably because of DX QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Mar 21 at 0631, R. Vanuatu, island music S6/S8
better than usual direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs March 20, 2026  View Printable Version
Saturday, March 21 2026

Logs
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Fri Mar 20 at 2255, WRMI with IS & ID loop
preceding `top of hour` programming; which at 2300 turns out to be RAE
in Portuguese; platforms include radiogarden, and WRMI with no
details. then music, one preview topic about Mendoza. I`ll bet it
default to dead air at 2330 and another ToH leadin at 2350 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, March 20 at 2300 past 2310, NO signal into UTwente
from VOT English; maybe still on preceding 9610 for 2130-2230 English?
Something else is there with music at 2303; only CNR8 in Mongolian
listed. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 275 MCW kHz, March 20 at 0619 UT, HIN, 25-watt NDB
`Whitney`, Chadron NE. Seldom heard here; well, first heard exactly

1322.996+, S9/+10 in UTwente, but already in music at 2157; did it
start early or get chopped short?

Not confirmed Friday March 20 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9/+15 into
Georgia SDR; rather, `Quorum Radio`, which is still on WRMI skedgrid

Many thanks this week to Gerald T Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous
seasonal check marking Vernal Equinox to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684,
Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1070, March 20 at 1258 UT, sportstalk, WDIA ID in passing,
mywdia.com -- it`s U4 50/5 kW in Memphis TN. Night pattern has very
tight major lobe southward, very little thisaway toward KNX, but day
pattern is oval favoring N/S, yet plenty sideways too. Another bonus
from the silence of Wichita. Today`s real sunrise there was 1204 UT,
as to be expected on the Vernal close to 90 degrees west; so should be
legally on day pattern now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1090, March 20 at 0636 UT, L&C RCC talk, call-in discussing
Martin Luther, who was hard to get along with, tsk2. This signal is
totally unusual; 1090 at night has nothing but weak mixes, but this
sounds like a major 50 kW clear-channel station. 0655 closing the
show, from EWTN. Yes, as I suspected, its KEXS Excelsior Springs MO
[Kansas City], a 10 kW D4 DAYTIMER! With illegal ops like this, who
needs SW 15610? Not unusual to hear it just before sunset. Day pattern
is ovalish favoring the SW toward Wichita and me from site NE of KC,
definitely inside MO:
https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KEXS&service=AM&h=D
D4 means it also has a ``critical hours`` power of 4 kW with a
different pattern but very similar, anyhow well beyond CH in the
nightmiddle. Next check at 1256 UT, also well audible, mentioning
Catholic Radio Network. I`ve yet to definitely hear KAAY Little Rock
on 1090 since its degradation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 969.935 approx., March 20 at 0652 UT, low audible het
against 970.00 signals. Yes, the TV set is off, so this may be real,
but nothing that far off in mwoffsets (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Area tropo is up March 19 at 1500+ UT; besides many
channels with BAD signals, these decode. as labeled:
RF20, 19-1, KQCW-HD [Muskogee]
RF21, 40-1, KHBS-DT, ABC [Fort Smith AR; as in last log Nov 15, site
is in OK!]

23-1 ROAR
23-2 MeTV
23-3 Dabl
23-4 Charge!
23-5 Comet
23-6 TheNest
This lineup matches rabbitears.info - KOKI is still the callsign but
not displayed, and no longer Fox (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17 and virtual 17, March 19 at 1630 UT as I am
flipping thru the DTV channels in a tropo opening from eastern OK,
there is something on 17 --- it`s Enid`s only local TV signal which
has been gone for months, since at least June 11, multi-channel 3ABN,
K17JN-D. It might have been on for a day or two since I last went by
ch 17, or coincidentally just now. The current lineup is slightly
different than in Rabbitears.info, which finally Xed it out upon my
reminder, but now it may be un-Xed. Here`s what I am getting:
17-11, 3ABN Radio74, audio only
17-10, 3ABN-MR Music channel, audio only
17-9, 3ABN-RL [Spanish], audio only
17-7, 3ABN-RD
17-6, 3ABN-PH Praise Him Music
17-5, 3ABN-KD Kids
17-4, 3ABN-ES Latin
17-3, 3ABN-DD Dare to Dream
17-2, 3ABN-PR Proclaim
17-1, K17JI-D = main 3ABN, but -JI is really in California!

``Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) is a 24-hour Christian
television and radio network, consisting of ten television channels
and five radio channels in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and
French. We are not owned or operated by any person or outside
organization, and neither are we funded by any church or denomination,
although many of our employees and volunteers are members of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church.`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, March 19 at 00645 UT, UI, qUIncy IL NDB is JBA
mixing with dominant FBY Fairbury NE; sometimes the mixer is TOR in
WY, but never? both at once.

305 MCW kHz, March 19 at 0648 UT, RO, 400 watt NDB `Topan`, ROswell NM
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
