Logs
** OKLAHOMA. Tornado hitting southern OKC: the local TV channels have
blown away all commercial network progrqmming all evening. Around 0200
UT Sat Apr 4 I survey which FM stations are plugged into which TV
stations. Some may have been missed, but on a portable seem off the
air. Some TV coverage is automatically interrupted for NWS warnings.
89.7 The House, not based in OKC; KFOR
Most other gospel huxters ignoring the crisis!
91.7 KOSU, NWS only? amid The Spy music
92.5 KWTV
93.3 off?
94.7 KFOR
96.1 KFOR, later back to music
96.9 KOCO - the only one on that?
98.1 off?
98.9 music
99.7 Mustang, C&W first, then KOCO?
100.5 off?
101.9 NWS
102.7 KFOR
104.1 KWTV
105.3 deadair
106.7 off?
107.7 KWTV
around 0230 UT I try MW band on portable, not much audible in storm
noise but:
1000 KFOR
800 Bott not weather. These are quick & dirty obs; maybe more later
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. From Doug Smith`s FCC info in April Line Of Sight, WTFDA:
``OK Oklahoma City K17JN 17 (17) Granted move from Enid; 15kw/140m,
35-24-54/97-30-38.``
So it will eventually become invisible in Enid, even if on the air,
leaving us with no local TV signals; will it still be multi-channel
3ABN? Another translator, which AFAIK has never really been on air in
Enid, at least I`ve not seen it, is moving to Wichita!:
``KS Wichita K25RD 25 (19) Granted move from K32MG Enid, Okla.;
15kw/148m, 37-20-08/97-27-54.`` One might wonder what`s the point?
Apparently preferable to move something licensed than start over from
scratch, even tho a different channel and different call. Also
different equipment? Some other such license-moves are even
trans-continental. One other strange item: KSBI RF23 is already too
weak, compared to KFOR RF27, KWTV RF25 and KOKH RF24 OKC which are
solid into Enid, but KSBI is normally BAD:
``OK Oklahoma City KSBI 23 (52) Requests power reduction to 540kw.
Granted`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.004-, April 3 at 2158, VOT IS & IDs, JBA into UTwente
and displaying as 11784.9821 not locking in. But at 2201 when retuned
and measured, S7/9+5 into UTwente -- BUT at 2238 recheck, it`s OFF!
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2341 monitoring: confirmed Friday
April 3 at 2035 the 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 1322.996+, S7/S9
into UTwente.

Also confirmed Friday April 3 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9/+20 into
Georgia SDR. Since not aired at 1300, this becomes the first SW
airing, at least this week.

Also confirmed Friday April 3 at 2239 the 2230 on Shortwave Radio
Gold, Germany, 3975.003-, JBA into UTwente, S8/S9 into recommended
Barney`s Bedford UK SDR.

>From his hospital bed after surgery, Bob Biermann has diligently
loaded WOR 2341 remotely into the automation for WTWW, should 5085 be
on air UT Saturday at 0300. Then George McClintock notifies me at 0021
UT Sat Apr 4 that 5085 *is* on tonight -- but not hearing it yet by
0100 or even 0200, something else wrong, or not to turn on much before
0300 WOR time? 5085 finally came on about 0215. George had a problem
getting the live-in transmitter site family to turn it on! But WOR
should run at 0300. Next:

Thanks this week to Mike Cooper, Stone Mountain GA, for a generous
check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.

One my also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9455, April 3 at 2159, this WRMI is OFF, no signal direct
nor into Georgia SDR; yet 9955 is OK with WOR. 9455 still off at
further chex, until 2338 UT ON with stupid ballgame in Spanish.
Supposedly RAE in Portuguese this hour on Fridays, but this must be R.
Nacional domestic relay; indeed such an ID during game at 2342. Chop
at 2359.5 for WRMI ID, DA and then something else (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 5130 -66 Hz = 5129.934, Apr 3 at 2355, this WBCQ is on with
`The Planet` IS & ID loop, S9+15/20; same on 6160 -72 Hz = 6159.928,
S9+10/20. Running both of those foreshadows a new AAAWWW be imminent.
3265 as usual not on, nor 9330. 7490 -54 Hz = 7489.946 with FKB,
S9+18/33, all into Vermont SDR. I keep listening to 7490-, from 0000
UT Sat Apr 4, `WTO` theme, first interjexion ``Heart``; later, starts
with ``Heart and soul of electronic media, ladies and gentlemen, is
good old radio...``. First talking about college radio, carrier
current, some still exist, then 10 watts on non-comm educational band
88.1-91.9 MHz, seeing a revival of that. 0021 datestamp as 3 April
YOOLF 2026, trimulcasting on 7, 6, 5. 0032 song. 0040 has a request
from Dominic for a song by Tom Petty. Goes over some of the great
programs on BCQ, times EDT of course: Wed 10-11 pm, Hello World Radio.
Thu 10-11 pm Upstream. Sun 5-6 pm Marion`s Attic. Sun 8-9 pm Let
There Be Light. Music? Tue 7-8 pm Alan Sane. Tue 8-9 pm Transmitter
42. Hal Turner left, don`t know why, replaced by Living By the Sword,
now gone too? Keeping 9-10 pm M-F on 7490 open, wanting a 5-day strip
of a music or news show. Meanwhile filling with AAAWWW repeats; but
Jason at Monticello is welcome to drop in some of his `Rockwave`
shows. World of Radio: ``Glenn Hauser is still chugging along, God
bless you``, Wed 5 pm. Ham show Thu at 5-7 pm. Behaviour Night, Fri
5-6 pm with Sir Scratchy. 0051 finally plays the Tom Petty song
request, ``The Last DJ``. 0053 datestamp again 3 April YOOLF 2026,
from Deland of Fla where it`s 73 degrees, humidity 75%. 0059 prayer,
ID. 0100 music which at 0101 is named Rockwave (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
** CUBA. 15140, April 3 at 1933, RHC here, not 11760 or 11880,
dramatic dialog in Spanish with music bits, like TV soundtrack; must
be relaying Cubavisión feed or Multivisión -- but cuts off air at
1937*. So much for English. Was monitoring via Georgia remote, gone
before I checked the strength, but sufficient. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 730, April 3 at 0646, one more time, ``La Más Picuda``
dominating, XEHB in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 9700, April 3 at 1453, surprise strong S7/S9 direct,
SSOB except for 9930 WTWW, exotic music of ringing and singing; 1459
ID as ``RNZ National`` and 1500 ``news at 4``. certainly much better
than 7440 had been. From 1553 listening via KFS on SW antenna, fading
down some, S5/S7 to 1559*; then there is a JBA carrier on 7440. Quite
contrary to current websked, 9700 supposed to be before and after these
hours, not during:
10:59 - 12:58 9700 AM Solomon Islands, PNG Mon - Fri
10:59 - 12:58 9700 AM Pacific Sat - Sun
12:59 - 16:50 7440 AM Pacific Daily
16:51 - 18:58 9700 AM / 9780 DRM Pacific / Cook Is, Samoa,
Tonga Sun - Fri
16:51 - 18:58 9700 AM Pacific Sat
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, April 3 at 1507 UT, K17JN-D is back on after
missing one day, the multi-channel 3ABN satellator misIDing as
K17JI-D; Enid`s only local TV signal (Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2341 monitoring: NOT confirmed what
was first SW airing, Friday April 3 at 1300 on WRMI 15770; instead,
SMTV! WOR is still on the websked for System D at this time, so error
or permanent change? Dave Kenny also noted this in England:

``WRMI was carrying Supreme Master at 1300-1330 utc today (Friday) on
15770, so there was no first airing of World of Radio at this
long-established time. Not sure if this is schedule change or due to
the recent power outages at WRMI? 73s Dave, Caversham, UK`` - SMTV
relays are normally at least an hour at a time; something else at
1330? Next:

** VENEZUELA. 4940, regarding Estación 4940 missing April 2, I did not
get it checked April 3 around 0630, but note that altho some are
uncertain of its location, Colombia or Venezuela, WRTH 2026 page 597
lists it as V`s only SW station, but ``unlicensed``, in Rincón Hondo,
1 kW at 23-10 UT, no callsign. Location is on the map, page 53
(However there are so many FM stations that only those in Caracas can
be in the book.) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ASCENSION. Re: ``6180, Mon March 30 at 0519, sped-up dialog in
African language, S9+10/20. HFCC shows BBC Hausa daily except Sundays.
Brasil would not be on at this hour, but watch out: not in HFCC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)``

``Good morning (my time zone), Glenn, as always, I am very thankful
for your efforts to keep the stream of news on international radio
flowing. Please don't mind a comment on one of your items. We were
both listening to 6180 kHz on Monday, but it was not the BBC but GTA
which was reported by you/in World of Radio to be produced by former
VoA employees:
260401 6180 0500 0104 ASC GTA, Hausa, nx: Nigeria 35433 HjBi;

HFCC shows this is by ENC ENC = Encompass, does not name either BBC or
Global Talk America as original source. EiBi does show Global Talk
America; missing from Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 6754 USB, April 2 at 0704, Trenton Military uttering
``Shearwater, Shearwater, no report received`` 4 times in a row before
moving on to somewhere that was received. Shearwater is in Nova Scotia
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

from R. Rebelde. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 730, Mar 31 at 0643, ``La Más Picuda`` as I tune across, so
XEHB Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, seems to be the dominant XE here,
50/1 kW - I bet they are on daypower or close to it (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 2341) {this was incorrectly dated March 30}

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, April 2 at 1452 UT, and still April 3 at 0048 UT,

times. Fortunately fonetix since when pronouncing his letters, the E
sounds like A or even O, to Amerears. QRZ.com: ``VK3EY Australia flag
Australia, ROB PUISE, NO DIRECT QSL, No Email QSL, SHEPPARTON,
VICTORIA 3632, Australia`` -- so still some SW signals out of
Shepparton! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Mar 31 at 2220, S9+10 of deadair from RHC, except for
some rapid clickery wideband but seemingly centered and out of this
transmitter. 11880 is S9+10 of clear deadair. 15140 not on. SAWA
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, April 1 at 0616, RHC still on, music and Spanish,
S9+25 with some windhowl (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHILE. 28444 USB, Mar 31 at 2209, CE6UYI calling CQ in English;
severe QRM from a stronger signal on 28445 USB. QRZ.com: ``CE6UYI
Chile flag Chile, Whatsapp : +56985181345, Gregorio Andres "ANDRES"
Becker Adrian, CC 655 LICAN-RAY, LICAN RAY, IX Chile``. Meanwhile the
local noise level on 10m is very low, barely nudging the S meter.
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay are typical deep South Americans
around this time on 10m; wonder how many F2 hops (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 5140 USB, Wed Apr 1 from *1400, State of
Oklahoma emergency operations center secure test net, or something
like that, NCS this time as WSHM692 is OM, A.K.? Williams. No sign of
YL NCS Breanna this week. Is a directed net, 12345, 54321, pause 30
sex to tune your transmitters. Calling for check-ins, one at a time
without locations which I insert from previous monitoring:
WQYW443, Beckham County;
WQZT582, Broken Arrow;
WQSY836, Byng EOC, answered;
WNPV700, Durant EOC, Bill ans; as usual much louder signal than any of
the others including NCS
WQYW883, City of Moore, answered but unheard here
WNUW216, OKC;
WNUW215, Ponca City, ans but unheard;
KNGR728, Pontotoc County, ans but unheard;
WPFY721, Seminole EOC, answered, he could hear Byng & Durant but not
another;
WNBM839, Stillwater, Steve? ans JBA;
WNCH624, Tulsa;
WNBE830, Jefferson City MO, ans JBA;
1406, any others? None, closing net until next week. 1407 clear but
says FEMA-3 test will be at 9:20; nothing heard at 1420, maybe on
another frequency.
1408, QSO between WPFY721 and WNBE830 making early check-in: Seminole
needs rain that Jeff City is getting; 1409, all clear. 1430 heard
traces of signals in MO net, not trying to monitor that (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** PUERTO RICO. 28495 USB, Mar 31 at 2205, KP4N in Spanish contact.
QRZ.com: ``KP4N Puerto Rico flag Puerto Rico, FRANCISCO CRESPO VEGA,
HC 58 BOX 13421, AGUADA, PR 00602, USA`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500, Tue Mar 31 at 2158, REE in Spanish resuming NAm
frequency silent yesterday, S9+20/30 but sounds slightly louder on //
15520 for ME S9+20 and 17715 for SAm S9+20/10, still no 15390 for Af;
2200 into French, so QRX for token English 24 hours later on Wed
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17715, Wed Apr 1 at 2200, REE TS and English, in NAm best on
the SAm frequency, S9+20/30, but plenty off the back to ME on 15520,
S9+10/20, and for NAm on 15500, S9+20/30; Af 15390 still missing.
Previews subjects: digital rights protexions vs AI, a fair in Madrid;
2201 news leads with Spain closing its airspace to USA due to Iran
war; can`t use two US bases there. Not afraid of reprisals. Similar
restrixions in France, Italy. Clip of Marco Rubio about NATO... And we
have to close down with lightning storms approaching. And there is
something rather more important about to happen from Florida into
International Vacuum (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.006+, Tue Mar 31 at 2155, VOT IS, S9/+10 direct but
noisy, 2200 timesignal and opening: seems different soft-spoken male
voice than usual and can`t be sure at first it`s really English; but
VOT news and other sounders as usual. At 2234 into UTwente when
measured, S9+20/25 music; 2239 Cemre narrating algo, 2245 outro for
`Conflict Zones in Africa` as in Alan Roe`s program sked, music. 2249
``always-by-your-side`` promo, music; 2252 s/off as if it`s the 1230
on 17620, awry at Ankara, few notes of IS and chop at 2253* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.003+, April 1 at 2158 and still 2204, no signal
direct from VOT English. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. By
2224 check into UTwente, when measured, it`s on amid `Letterbox`
repeat, S9+30. 2254 recheck, IS is playing. 2256 pause and restart IS
with German IDs, up to old trix. 2302 still going in extraneous
German, finally chop at 2303* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
