Logs
** BRAZIL. 28390 USB, March 14 at 2317, giving an S9-11 report to WN
something. CQ Contest in English from Papa papa five lima - stalyit??
Strange fonetik. Finally decide he`s trying to say ``Charlie`` with 3
syllables. QRZ.com: ``PP5LC Brazil flag Brazil, FALCONS DX GROUP,
Luciano Carlos da Silva "Luciano" Falcons DX Group, Rua Pedro Noberto
Rosa, sc, 88317192, Brazil``. Lots of other Braz on 10m phone, but
hardly any beacons from anywhere - which means the ``skip is long``
beyond N America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 28440 USB, Mar 14 at 2322, PY2BN caling CQ SAm? contest.
QRZ.com: ``PY2BN Brazil flag Brazil, Antonio Carlos Rodrigues (in dx
Tuka), Rua . Das Paineiras n-268 JD São Paulo, Zip
13468-060/Americana, SP, Brazil`` -- addresses written by hams
themselves are often erroneous, as to spelling, capitalization,
punxuation, axentuation, so assume sic as it`s not my job to fix them
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 28493 USB, Mar 14 at 2323, ZZ3K calling CQ contest.
QRZ.com: ``ZZ3K Brazil flag Brazil, Group "MRDX TEAM DX" HAMs, Mario
Cesar LLompart, rua 14 de julho 185, Estancia velha, RS 93600420,
Brazil`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 28460 USB, Mar 14 at 2324, PY5AM calling CQ contest. In
fonetix, pronounces M as ``Mike-ee``. QRZ.com: ``PY5AM Brazil flag
Brazil, ADRIANO AUGUSTO COSSETI, R: AUGUSTO RIBAS, 747, PONTA GROSSA,
PR, 84010300, Brazil`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, March 14 at 1534, RHC VG S9+20 into Georgia SDR, also
VG modulation in Spanish as ``Cubaonline``. 11760 is off; and 15140 is
JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, March 14 at 1915, RHC English with ``Ed`` talking,
S9+10/20 into Georgia SDR, but suptorted! = modulation SUPpressed and
disTORTED, mostly readable if you put up with it. A different kind of
problem than usual. 15140 is much louder but so is the windhowl. 11760
not on. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, Mar 14 at 2126, RHC poorly audible in English into
Georgia SDR. Evidently a nominal English hour now also at 21-22 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 6150-6155-6160, March 14 at 2338, DRM noise S9+10. EiBi
shows TDF Digital irr. this hour in French to N Africa (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6979 AM, March 14 at 2332, pirate music S9/+10; 2355
announcements mention ``circa 1965``, WDWA, 970? Radio, various
jingles, ``All day, Saturday``; wild DJ, WDWA, --?--, New York to
2400* sharp off. Several IDs as ``NINE!`` here which I never heard,
and WVWA:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,160131.0.html
I wondered if relay or airchex of a real station? NRC AM Log has no
WDWA or WVWA; and no similar 970 call in NY or anywhere (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA, 6950 USB, March 14 at 2333, pirate music S9+10/20;
March 15 at 0009, music sounds best tuned to 6950.05 USB. By March 15
at 0009, ID as ``You are listening to Mix Radio International on
shortwave``, back to music, past 0044, S9+20/30 direct. Many logs here
from 2148 to 0143+:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,160130.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 USB, March 15 at 0044, pirate music S9+10.
These say it`s Yeah Man Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,160139.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Thanks for your efforts to support Short Wave Radio all these years.
Let`s hope we all live to see sanity restored to our gov`t, more
specifically to the VOA, RFE, RFA etc.`` with a contribution by check
on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 12160, Sat Mar 14 at 1700, new time for `The Talking [sic]
Machine Show` on WWCR-2, but reception is VP direct and to various NAm
remotes, with K=5 and G1/G2 geomag storms. We listen to it anyway via
stream, but the Windows Media Player just keeps repeating the greeting
and nothing else; we can hear it via the alternative Web Player,
http://wwcr.gsradio.net:3863/index.html?sid=1
but not via
https://www.gsradio.net/shows/WWCR_PLAYERS/wwcr2.html
This is very strange (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

specifically to the VOA, RFE, RFA etc.`` with a contribution by check
on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, March 13 at 1444, WRMI not off the air, but
undermodulated S8/S9 talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5130 -56 Hz = 5129.944, March 13 at *2355, WBCQ cuts on with
`The Planet` IS & ID reel, S9+10/20 with flutter into K1VL Vermont
remote. Since they bothered to turn it on, probably bodes well for a
*new* `AAAWWW` after a month of repeats. No signals on 3265, 6160 or
9330, but 7490 -53 Hz = 7489.947, with FKB is S9+10/20, also with
flutter. K-index is 5.67, with G2 geomag storms. Watch the Auroral
Oval.

But I start listening to the 7490 stream instead, which is running
several sex behind 5130 as WTO theme starts at 0000 UT Sat Mar 14.
Opening talkover: ``Tickling the grids, that`s what we do...``. By
0003, 6160 - 78 Hz = 6159.922 is also on with flutter at S9+15; nowhen
else? Starts reminiscing about the old days with cart machines, etc.;
finally at 0023 datestamp as 13th of March YOOLF 2026, and
trimulcasting, on 7, 6 and 5 MHz. Explains vacuum tubes, etc. They
still try to ``emphasize the analog``. ``the last holdout of true
analog communications``. 0030 complains that dark skies are being
ruined by more and more satellites, as in time-lapse photo we can`t
see. Posts on X, TicToc, Truth[sic] Social, FB but warns not to get
addicted to those. 0038 tune. 0042 old piece by a Canadian lamenting
that other countries are not helping out America in times of need - by
Byron Mack[?]. 0046 reads a Trump T-S post boasting about attacking
Iran.

0052 about the SuperStition situation, 9330. Expensive to run, so
still trying to get a new client, for 6, 12, 18+ hours a day, as WLC
is going otherwise. Have had to lay off lots of staff, electric rates
have doubled in New England. Planned to put Hal Turner on it in a
6-hour block Saturday noon-6pm ET, but not there yet. Transmitter
needs some repairs but AW is still in Deland of Fla. Ampegon antenna
has 16 bays; max ERP of 500 kW is something like 300 megawatts where
aimed. 0055 some email. 0058 prayer. At 0100, 6160 plays s/off, 5130
playing some other music. And by 0101, 7490 is starting `High
Voltage`. No such show on websked at
http://wbcq.com/schedule/index.php?fn=sked&freq=7490
which does show a 4 hour difference between UT and local but still
labels it EST! on every line instead of EDT. I thought Hal Turner had
gone away? Still on there at 0100 UT Tue-Sat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, March 13 at 0700, RV on here with Bislama talk,
S6/S7 direct. Last night they were still on 9960 at 0618, so switching
now at 0700? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4095, March 13 at 0712, sweeps upward are JBA. This
would be DW - `Desert Whooper` - had been trying to hear it all
winter, but not until now, had assumed it were gone (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13735-13740-13745, March 13 at 2221, DRMish noise of
typical bandwidth but sounds strange. Nothing scheduled now; however,
TDF is on 13740 AM at 18-20; and Aoki reminds us that WINB used to DRM
on 13740, but only between 0730 and 1000, and we know that ended years
ago! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
