** CUBA [non]. 15460, Oct 17 at 1710, no signal into Ft Lauderdale SDR, unlike yesterday new Grimesland for R. Martí/LV del Trumpismo, while 13605, 11930 and 11860 are on and audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** INDIA [non?]. 15280, Oct 17 at 2340, S9/+20 of dead air with very heavy Doppler flutter. The Chinese sesquihour of Akashvani/AIR via Bengaluru is about to start, and it is subject to jamming. Also during much longer hours, SOH and jamming against that could be here. Or, could this be the ghost of KGEI? Many other frequencies in the higher bands are also Dopplerfluttery, transpolar propagation disruptions (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 1680 kHz, Oct 17 at 2010 UT, Virtual DJ Radio is again modulating pop music, peaking at the crossroads of S Van Buren, and W OK Garriott in Enid. This happens also to be the location of the NO KINGS protest Oct 18 at 15-19 UT, yes, Champlin Park, even in Enid (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 95.5 MHz, Oct 17 at 2015 UT, the unID low-power pirate playing pop music is still active with stereo pilot on, but mono sound, audible only for a few blox around the crossroads of S Cleveland and W OK Garriott in Enid (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 11800, Oct 17 at 2158, RRI IS, S6/S8 into Georgia SDR, a bit stronger than Turkey; 2202 into UTwente, English S6/S8 but ``hollow`` sounding, not as strong as expected (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.010-, Oct 17 at 2157, VOT IS & ID, S5/S7 into Ft Lauderdale SDR, S5/S7 into Athens GA. At 2237 into UTwente when measured, S9+45/50. 2249 `Did You Know That` with Efsun about an elegant view. 2253 s/off, 2254 IS to 2256*
VOT English B25, per HFCC: 1330-1430 13635 WEu; 1730-1830 9660 Iran to India; 1930-2030 6050 WEu; 2130-2230 9610 SEAs N/W Au; 2300-2400 5960 NAm, WEu 0400-0500 6125 NAm, WEu; 0400-0500 7285 Libya to Arabia; So this means if 5960 be missing after 2300, try 9610 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

The "99.1" is sometimes spoken in English`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ROMANIA. Re 11800, RRI not appearing on scheduled frequencies, Wolfgang Bueschel replies:
``FYI to understand RadioCom Romania and RRI foreign sce in A-25 and B-25 now ask our German/Romanian DXer Alex Busneag, ab27@arcor.de about that ROU behaviour recently, when RRI Bucharest limited foreign sce on SW to a single frequency each of their two bcast centers, always according of their azimuth / meterband possibilities. 73 wolfie df5sx wwdxc:
Re: Radio Romania International. {translated by wb.}
Since August 1, 2023, RRI has been broadcasting "temporarily" on only one frequency (instead of the usual two simultaneously) per target area. However, two frequencies per broadcast will continue to be coordinated and programmed into the respective transmitter controls.
In Galbeni and Tsiganeshti, only one of the two transmitters will actually be switched on. In the event of maintenance work or defects in the transmitter that was actually intended to be used, the other transmitter will be switched on as a replacement - with the "second frequency" that has already been programmed.
These alternative frequencies can best be found in the HFCC table: <https:new.hfcc.org/data/schedbyfmo.php?seas=A25&fmor=ROU>
In Galbeni, all broadcasts have apparently been running on the "other" transmitter for about three days and thus on the other frequencies, e.g., Romanian 1300-1500 UTC temporarily on 17780 kHz instead of, 15340 kHz. So as long as the announced nightly 9740 kHz 0300-0400 UT RRI English towards NoWeAM via Galbeni site is not working, the program will be available on 11620 kHz (or perhaps 17790 kHz). (Alexander Busneag-D, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Oct 8)`` (via Glenn Hauser, WORLD OF RADIO 2317)

** CUBA. 13780, Oct 15 at 1455, weak signal, finally recognizable as Spanish, so must be RHC, but unseems // much stronger 15140 & 11760. Out of synch? By 1605, only 11760 on air, VG S9+5 into Miramar FL SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 1680, Oct 15 circa 2010 UT, Virtual DJ Radio relay carrier still on and audible at hotspot of US412/81 junxion, but dead air or possibly JBM. Until now it had been extremely reliable whenever checked (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 11800, Oct 15 at 2159, surprised to hear RRI IS, weak direct; English at 2200 had been on 9740 in A-season, too low for us in summer and intended only for W Europe, but no trace of that now. At 2240 into UTwente, 11800 is only VP, and no 9740. RRI website claims this transmission be on 9740 only: they can`t even convey own schedule accurately; something`s botched at Bucharest. HFCC shows both registered, Galbeni, 300 kW at 300 degrees; as alternates? Or in better times, both (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 17715, Wed Oct 15 at 2200, weekly English from REE, S9+10/20 direct on SAm channel, still no 15500 for NAm, and other two much weaker, 15520 & 15390. Marilyn Quintana, still sola, claims she is ``live`` but that was at 10 UT; preview topix women`s rights, women in gastronomy? or astronomy?; 2202 news of the week. By 2205 has already faded down to S9/+10, too weak (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TAIWAN [non]. 17790, Oct 15 at 2206, RTI in Spanish via WRMI and again // 15770, good on both (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also USA
** TURKEY. 11785, Oct 15 at 2158, no signal from VOT direct in English, nor by 2202; but next check 2217 now it`s on, S9+20/30 direct, music and English. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2316 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday October 14 starting at 2332 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 3975.002, S7/S9 into UTwente.
Also confirmed UT Wednesday October 15 at 0030 on WRMI 9395 after `Everglades` ID, S9+5/10 into Maryland SDR.
Also confirmed Wednesday October 15 from 1931.7 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 3975.001+, better than 6160.000 at S9+5 with RTTYditty on plus side.
Also confirmed Wednesday October 15 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 -66 Hz = 7489.934, S8/9+5 into Maryland SDR.
Also confirmed Wednesday October 15 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+10 into N9AZZ IL remote. Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Financial support for this non-commercial program appreciated by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.
One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17790, Oct 14 at 0027, WRMI-7 still on, very weak into Maryland SDR, VG S9/+15 into Bonaire at 0030 with Slovakia in Spanish. Skedgrid now dated Oct 15 shows System H on 17790, 160 degrees toward S America: 2200 Taiwán Spanish, 2230 Soteriah Intl, 2300 Prague French, 2330 Prague English, 0000 Praga Spanish, 0030 Eslovaquia Spanish, 0100 Taiwán Spanish, 0130-0200 Slovakia English. The pink System H sked, however does not show 17790 *at all*, but mostly same lineup on 15770 and/or 7730 and/or 5850 and/or 5010. Daily with some exceptions such as at 2230 Sat WOR, Sun Wavescan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also TAIWAN [non]
** U S A. 780, Oct 15 at 0642 UT, after `StarDate` from 0640, WBBM timecheck as ``45 past the hour``; and at 0643, ``46 past``, i.e. 3 minutes fast. This seems to be routine night after night. Altho local Chicago weather, traffic, etc., sound live, I guess this be all automated, and misprogrammed. Don`t you believe the WBBM clock! Are wrong times habitually uttered elsewhen? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 920, Oct 15 at 0712, KYFR hymn S9+40, owning the frequency as usual, direxional thisaway from site SE of Omaha, almost to the MO border in SW corner of IA. NRC DX News Oct 21, published Oct 13: ``920 KYFR IA Shenandoah – Using U1 600/600 since Sept. 16, phasor problems`` - Apparently this be already passé. Not paying much attention to gospel huxters, but I think it had been much weaker lately. Normally it`s U4 5/2.5 kW with major lobes day and night SSW thisaway. Omaha is within both day and night local coverage contours. Daytime fringe extends to SE corner of SD and to Wichita KS, but inaudible by Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** URUGUAY [and non]. 28430 USB, Oct 15 at 2211, CX7RM, Spanish contact with KP4OMR, also audible but weaker. QRZ.com:
``CX7RM Uruguay flag Uruguay, Pablo Goldaracena Sommaruga, Pinares Calle Sagitario, Punta del Este 20005, Uruguay`` lots of antenna, equipment photos, family, pets, vistas.
``KP4OMR Puerto Rico flag Puerto Rico, FELIX O MARTINEZ, HC 01 BOX 4058 UTUADO, PR 00641, USA [sic]. His page is crammed with certificates, or ``diplomas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

RTI had been publicizing change to 17790 at 0100, not 2200! as of Oct 15 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.004-, Oct 14 at 2157, VOT not off the air, S9+20 direct but undermodulated with IS & English IDs. At 2242 into UTwente when measured, S9+30/35. 2252 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2255 s/off as if it`s 17620 at 1230, awry at Ankara, few notes of IS and chop before 2256*. Still undermodulated as open frequency then blasts. Erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15460: re: Hearing jazz being b/c on this freq. at 1520 GMT with a very strong S9+ sig. into upstate NY. There are reports that VOA Greenville might be testing here and that certainly sounds plausible given the sig. strength. No ann. yet as b/c continues past 1532. John Figliozzi, Halfmoon NY``

** U S A. Re: ``Blob was also present on approx. 9680 khz at 1400 UT past 1415 but gone by 1500. (W) hat in (T) he (W) orld is (W) rong at WTWW? Tony Pavick, Hope BC``
I first heard this at 1443 Oct 14 covering 9672-9683, peaking about 9681, S9+30 while 9930 only S9 and JBM with BS. I notified George ASAP and urged him to turn it off. Next check at 1513 the blob is peaking instead about 9785 covering 9778-9788. Notified George again. Still there at 1528. Via Maryland remote, obviously Brother Stair if tuned in NBFM mode!
At 1536 UT modulation stops, but huge signal still on 9785 and weak clear 9930. At first it was centered slightly on the plus side of 9785, then slightly on the minus side. Still on at 1553 but silent.
Finally turned off at 1626* and by 1640 not heard direct anywhere else on 9 MHz band, 9930 also off. We should be on the listen-out for such showing up again somewhere below 9930.
By 1805 UT check, 9930 is back on, only S9/+15 direct and NO blobs. Also see this:
``Last month (Sept. 13) I picked up a similar blob of distorted audio at 1410 UTC, centered approx. on 9724 kHz, although it was drifting around in frequency. This also turned out to be WTWW (with a shouting Brother Stair program), but it was transmitting in FM mode, or at least it was best received with my radio in FM mode. Very strong signal and parallel to 9930 which was much weaker. I also checked several online SDRs to make sure it wasn't my rig and it was well received right across North America and down into Mexico. Very odd. I wondered if someone was trying to rebroadcast the WTWW transmission. John Hudak, Ontario`` (Glenn Hauser. OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9955, Oct 14 at 1640, WRMI is still on, JBA direct. Supposed to quit at 1600. At 1658 into Maryland remote, music at S6, 1659 WRN ID and then off* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 770, Oct 14 at 0658 UT, `The Other Side of Midnight` keeps going right up to 0700 ID for WABC and several other stations. Still can`t hear KKOB (Glenn Hauer, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1431 kHz, Oct 14 at 0709 UT, het from off-frequency WYKG Covington GA still audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
