SAUDI ARABIA. 11935.411, Aug 27 at 1626, Qur`an at S9+10/20 into
UTwente; no chirping or other disruptions now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
SAUDI ARABIA. 11935.4 approx., Aug 26 at 0418 weak S4/S5 rapid
chirping direct as heard recently from Riyadh`s Yemen service. Over to
UTwente at 0422 where it`s S9, and will not synchronize at any point.
Rapid chirping maybe 4X per second but irregular, in USB tuning, but
in AM, only hear clix above much weaker program modulation. Magnifying
waterfall, we see spikes upward only from 11935.5 past 11937; still so
at 0502. This transmitter keeps finding new ways to disrupt itself -
unless it`s external jamming, unseems. Next check 1918 Aug 26 into
UTwente - clear, no chirp, S9+15/25 on 11935.403

supposedly English frequency usually useless if on earlier.
Something`s always wrong at RHC. But 5025, R. Rebelde is still

from SNR; 17715 is VP S8/S9 for S America, unusable, like 15520 for ME
off the back; and 15390 for Africa is still OFF too. However at 2204 I
get a JBA carrier on 17855 much weaker than 17715, maybe RNE.
Propagation seems OK, e.g. music on 17880 which would be CRI Beijing
site in Spanish. At 2222 I try UTwente: 17855.002- is JBA also weaker
there than 17715.012 S7/S8. 15520.000 S7/S9 and 15390 off (Glenn

** TURKEY. 11785.005, Aug 28 at 2159, VOT not off the air with IS,
2200+ timesignal 2 or 3 sex later than WWVH, s/on as if the 1230 on
17620. Something`s always awry at Ankara. But this time direct
reception is sufficient, S9+20/30, unusually unlike simulSPAIN q.v. on
any of its remaining frequencies. But by 2221 for convenience I`m on
UTwente when measured, S9+35/40 with music. 2225 multi-lingual ID
filler reel. 2227 music. 2232 `The Middle East & Turkey` penned by an
expert in international relations, about development of T`s own fighter
jet called Khan [sp?]. 2238 music. 2242.5 `Sports Panorama`. 2249
``always-by-your-side`` promo. 2250 song. 2253 s/off ignoring SW, IS
chopped after a few notes by 2254*, no finesse. Something`s always

what`s wrong? 500 kW ought to provide at least a JBA carrier even in
worst propagation. At 1650 zero signal into UTwente where it`s aimed,
57 degrees in HFCC; but blasting into Maryland SDR. At 2204 direct,
JBA much weaker than 9350 WWCR blaster (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9970-9990, Aug 28 at 2210 direct, noise field surrounds
extremely strong 9980 WWCR with TOMBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 780, Aug 28 at 0640 UT, WBBM ``Newsradio 105.9`` with
`Stardate`, 2-minute feature from McDonald Observatory, TX. Maybe a
regular spot. We normally catch it at 1704 UT M-F on KANU=KPR webcast,
or 1800v on KUCO; or daily 1730v on ``QXFM`` TX webcast. Many more
chances, and lots of stations run it more than once a day:

but I`m afraid much of that is outdated or wrong. There is no ``KCOU``
91.1 in Enid! This time not shown for WBBM. Better check each
station`s linked website, but some ignore a mere 2-minute item, if
they deign to provide anything resembling a plain old program
schedule. Stardate really pushes people to ``subscribe`` for a price,
but one may read the latest script and then link to some previous ones

audible heterodynes on several frequencies due to perpetually
off-frequency stations, some of which have been identified before, Aug

6185  education  with various songs . at 0745?  A  digital signal of 8 string and 2,5kHZ wide with a leading carrier started effecting reception signal -80ddbm in the canaries SDR and much better in te Bermudas REMAIN LOGS IN THE ADRESS AS ABOVE

calling CQ DX Asia/Pacific. Quickly making contacts JBA here including

EA7FTR, ING. JOSE "TI9JJP" PASTORA, QSL Manager EA7FTR, PO Box

** CUBA. 891 & 889 kHz, Aug 27 at 0253, JBA carriers hetting 890 with
WLS and LA mixture presumably Cuban and also source of spurs. Should
Algeria 891 fundamental also be in there, I never hear any beat so
would have to be on exactly same frequency as Cuba. No 9/kHz carriers
now in full bandscan vs HSNL. Recheck at 0636: still both 889 & 891
detectable. Spurs sourced to Cuba are just an assumption, one of two
890 stations there, but could be elsewhere in Carib/LAm or even US?
Need to triangulate them or something more certain (Glenn Hauser, OK,

Rebelde, as more often than not at late-night. Is no one paying
attention at station? Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. Earlier

** CUBA [and non]. 15230, Aug 27 at 2206, RHC Portuguese not off the
air, S9/+10 but somewhat sup/torted; not noted on any other frequency
now. Something`s always wrong at RHC. There is a sig on 11760 at 2217,
S9+10 with flutter, sounds like Chinese music. O, per EiBi it`s CRI
``Portuguese`` via site x = Xi`an? at 22-23 which of course is nothing
but fill music for years; like via Cuba on 13650 at 23-24, not checked

** OKLAHOMA. 1390, Aug 27 at 0638 UT, and still past 0700, local KCRC
Enid in dead air again; and so is sibling station 1640 KZLS, but
someother talking station is audible underthat, anything but Biloxi

** MADAGASCAR. 13760, Aug 27 at 0332, MWV, S9+20 English discussion of
how WCB has LPFM in Greenland? and SW stations. This is service to
India, but VG signal here despite way off the side of beam; antipodal

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935.411, Aug 27 at 1626, Qur`an at S9+10/20 into

S9+20/30 direct starting news. Also audible on 17715, 15520, but no

** SPAIN. 15520, Aug 27 at 1517, REE only frequency on, for ME, as
15390 for Africa has been absent since Aug 25; and the other two,
17715 & 17855 do not start until 1800 on weekdays. Something`s
notright at Noblejas. 1958, 2203 chex: still no 15390 (Glenn Hauser,

** SPAIN [and non]. 21270 USB, Aug 26 at 2209, EA2K, José in southern
Spain making quick contacts among many phone signals, pileups on
``15`` m, apparently some contest. QRZ.com: ``EA2K Spain flag Spain,
Jose Ignacio "Jose", CADRETE (ZARAGOZA), Spain``. A few minutes
earlier had a deep Argentine on 28445 USB, no beacons on 10; never
phones but some digitals around 24900 on 12. Almost as if voice have
been banned on this band like `30` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, Aug 26 at 2200, JBA carrier direct, presumably VOT
attempting to come up, but not even that at 2210 recheck, nor later in
hour into UTwente, nor 9875 nor 11795 previous errors. Something`s
always erroneous at Emirler. Meanwhile Romania had a good signal
direct on 11800; why don`t I listen to that?

However, the final VOT English repeat is not off the air, UT Aug 27 at
0336 on 7275 with the inimitable tones of Efsun, S9+20/30 including
HSNL on NAm frequency, JBA on 6165 to SAs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.005-, Aug 27 at 2158, VOT English not off the air, IS
and IDs, S9+20/30 direct and sufficient. Olds leads with latest? Gaza
casualty toll; and TRT cameraman injured in Gaza. 2231 into UTwente
when measured, S9+50 as Efsun the accentuated is reading a Weekly
Commentary - or is it Analysis? What`s the diff? 2240 outro/intro as
the former, music. 2245 `Turkey`s Geomarked Products`, Tawas? charred
yogurt, made from sheep milk and carmelized. 2247 multi-lingual ID
filler reel. 2250 music. 2253 s/off ignoring SW, something`s always
awry at Ankara, IS. 2256 restart IS but off 2256.5* before Germanizing

** U S A [non?]. 17630, Tue Aug 27 at 1630, no signal yet into
UTwente. VOA has a new Fulani language service for Africa, allegedly
weekly on Fridays at 1630-1700 via unknown site; subject of much news

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2257 monitoring: confirmed Monday
August 26 from 1931 the 1930v on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.001-,
S9+10/20 and 3975.002, S9+10/15 into UTwente.

Also confirmed UT Tuesday August 27 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+10/20
direct but JBA in HSNL = high storm noise level, extending from SE NM
to NW TX, W OK & KS, SC NE.

Also confirmed Tuesday August 27 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, S6/S9 direct,
not preceded by any ToH ID; no jamming audible.

Also confirmed Tuesday August 27 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia,
1322.994 kHz, S9+20 into UTwente across Europe. But 2003-2005 faded
way down to S9+10, power cut? Audiblizing Iranquran? underneath. No
more of that by 2020, offtime. Next:

Washington, with ESPN. Maybe mentioned on that net? But no ESPN

UNIDENTIFIED. 11550, Aug 27 at 0331, RTTY warbling atop a broadcaster,
talk and music, totalling S9+10/20 direct. Probably Kurdo/Turco radio
war at the edge of variable range for Dengê Gel via ARMENIA and
Erdoğan jammer, but which don`t start until 0400 per EiBi (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15169-15191, Aug 27 at 2205, OTH radar clickery, typical
22-kHz bandwidth, not strong and no broadcasters hit but could bother
Inconfidência, Brasil if active on 15190+ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
