** CUBA. 13780, July 22 at 1457, Spanish? JBA S4/S5 direct; 1459 RHC IS & ID. So NF is active but underpowered? It`s not on the ``new`` sked Chris Campbell got from someone at RHC; why in the world don`t they put it on website? It`s ``experimental``. 15230 also heard July 22 at 1455, suptorted S9/+5. And at 2159, 13780 is JBA S6/8 direct, and 15230 S9+10 of dead air if not JBM.

Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. I bandscan for LW/MW beacons every latenight, in case anything change or make it thru my horrible line noise level/storm noise. 245 kHz, July 22 at 0646 UT has a JBA carrier, most likely the only one logged under better conditions: FS, Sioux FallS SD, 400 watts. Thanks for financial support this week from Peter Robinson, Preston UK, a very generous contribution via PayPal, to woradio at yahoo.com
One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5920, July 21 at 0456, this WTWW for TOMBS is unusually absent; had been running late presumed all-night. What`s wrong now? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5920, July 22 at 0154 UT, WTWW is extremely distorted with hum and putting out various spur noises down to 5895 or so. Not so much on the plus side altho 5935 occupied by WWCR. The other WTWW, 5085, is still off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5050 & 5800, July 22 at 0150, these WRMI frequencies are off, supposed to be on; while these are really on: 5010, 5850 & 5950 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5130, July 22 at 0150, no signal from this WBCQ, but at 0200 there is a JBA carrier on 6159.94, so apparently reactivated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1700 kHz, July 21 at 0445 UT, 10-second clip of a song in Spanish followed by 6 seconds of dead air - exactly the same thing repeated over and over in a loop, still at 0501 -- and *still* at my final chex 0628, 0640! Obviously the usual 1700 dominant here, KKLF, U1 5/1 kW Richardson TX in The Metroplex, Jalapeño Radio, but in NRC AM Log, address in far Corpus Christi. What a joke! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VATICAN. 9710, Mon July 21 at 0458, S9+10/20, Ukrainian about Apostle Paul, 0459 R. Vatikan ID, Laudetur Iesus Christus, 2 notes of IS and off*. Back on *0459.5 more of IS, 0500 LIX and opening Russian, ``Govorit Radio Vatikan``. These are daily per EiBi; on Sundays Ukrainian also at 0605-0700. Then at 0505 I find the same on 11815, S9+20/30 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6130, July 22 at 0156, JBA talk in Amerenglish, or maybe two audios mixing, gone at 0159. Can`t figure out any 49mb mixing product. Doubt it`s the 24h R. Europe, low power in Neth, much less Tibet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 17925 USB, July 21 at 0440, JBA contact in English; seems not just ATC info. EiBi shows only on this frequency: 24h, San Francisco R. LDOC, E Oc dx; but Kingenfuß 2022 adds more: Thailand, Guam, Alaska, Hawaii, NY (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs July 20, 2025 |
|
Sunday, July 20 2025
** CUBA. 13780, July 20 at 1406, again no signal direct from RHC`s NF which was good while it lasted. 15230 is on at S5/S7, seems suptorted, too weak. Nor encountered anywhere else in quick bandscans of 9 thru 17 MHz bands, unless one of numerous JBA carriers not pursued (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GERMANY. 9670.002, Sun July 20 at 1712, Channel 292 with `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot` - missed the first dodekaminute since I was getting Turkey `Letterbox` out of the way: S9 into UTwente with occasional lightning crashes, as indeed on the Blitzortung map over Netherlands, much of Germany; they worsen as the hour progresses. At first it`s ``I Love Lucy`` theme; 1713 Mel Blanc as Al Jolson, ``Tut, tut, Tutsi, Goodbye``. 1716 YL German ID, Rosemary Clooney, ``C`m on to My House``. 1719 ``Monster`` from Vietnam War era by Steppenwolf. 1729 IDs, German, would like to resume weekly shows if enough contribute. 1730 rest of show salutes Canada Day July 1: ``O, Canada`` in English; 1732 another Cansong. 1735 William Shatner speaking, distancing himself from Star Trek rôle and making clear he is Canadian from Montréal, not American. 1740 Anne Murray, ``Snowbird`` from 1970. 1743 German ID, shoutouts to Fred Waterer, Sean Welsh. 1744 French Canadian song, 1748 another; 1755 polka. 1759 bumper sticker, QSL offer, contact info and finish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11660.006+, July 20 at 1654, tune in just in time for `Letterbox` on VOT, getting it out of the way even earlier this Sunday, S9+10/25 into UTwente with occasional lightning crashes. Cemle has news for SD`s Ricky Hein who is always complaining about bad reception on 11785 & 7275: Emirler tells her that repairs to the A41 antenna have been completed, should be OK from now on. She is supposed to be on annual leave last week and next, but son broke his arm. Monday will be visiting Vienna taking in the tourist attraxions. I can only guess at some of the names called: 1) Patrick Travers, England. 2) Anthony Beech, England. 3) Andrea --, Argentina. 4) Nasir Aziz, Pakistan. 5) Jayanta Chakraborty, India. 6) Mr May Lin, Sichuan, China. 7) David Ansell, UK. 1710, ``that`s it for today``, theme to 1711 and tune-out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2304 monitoring: Since I happen to awaken at 1030 UT Sunday July 20, I check what`s happening on WRMI 9955. Is on, JBA and at first I think it`s me, but shortly is a little stronger with Yahwah stuff, no doubt CRR.
Also confirmed Sunday July 20 at 1902 the 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.995, S8/S5 into Parma SDR. Too bad not keeping 918 on too. Next:
2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160 [suspended]; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

Glenn Hauser logs July 19-20, 2025 |
|
Sunday, July 20 2025
** CUBA. 13780, July 19 at 2234, RHC NF is missing again? No, but JBA Spanish into Maryland, other remotes where it should do better; underpowered? By 0001 July 20 direct check, no signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CURACAO. 21300.2 USB, July 19 at 2255, CQ CQ from PJ2Y, at first sounded like PJ2YPJ till a different voice took over, or 21300.3? quick contacts, contest? QRZ.com: ``PJ2Y Curacao flag Curacao, James R Storms, 4968 Tilbury Rd, Huber Heights, OH 45424, Curacao - Here it is 2025 and we are on the air in Curacao from July 18 through July 21. Try to contact all kids on each band. Again we thank the Caribbean Contest Consortium for hosting us. Uli is here and doing a great job helping us with the station. A special thanks to Dayton Amateur Radio Association for being the major sponsor. As always DX engineering is a high level supporter along with Icom`` It seems this is an annual outing of ``The Dave Kalter Youth DX Adventure`` The OSOB, at least no other SSBs encountered (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MALI. 5995, July 19 at 1851, R. Mali in token English for a few minutes on Saturdays only. Checking several remotes in Canary, Morocco, Spain, Sicily, Greece, Kuwait, Qatar, RSA, most getting nothing or too little except for TWR Johannesburg, but it`s insuff, only S7 vs high noise level. The OM speaker is more intelligible than the YL with a heavy French? accent. I recall that Fuerteventura, Canary Islands used to work best for this, but not now shown on the KiwiSDR roster. However, I do find and reach EA8BFK via another roster, almost too late: S9+20/30 at 1901 still English, mentioning the Malian Association of Teachers of English, and something about Nelson Mandela. 1903 wrapping up with frequency 92.0, and ``may God bless Mali`` at 1904 bit of music and switch to another language (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6965 USB, July 20 at 0007, pirate music, S9+10/20 vs NL of S9+10; retuned at 0009 just as a Wolverine Radio ID is uttered. More: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,147761.0.html Theme is Woman, see playlist; SSTV illustrated with a reclining nude sculpture (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6955 AM, July 20 at 0008, pirate music JBA S9+10/20. These say it`s Thunder Chicken Radio: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,147756.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 92.1, July 20 at 0044 UT on caradio, bandscanning in case a bit of Es DX; at least two signals fading in and out here. Weak but clear for an ID, ``Heart & Soul 92.1 and 1140`` which is merely K221FQ OKC of KRMP 1140, which ought to be better than JBA in noise level; 99 watts.
Occasionally fading up to dominance on 92.1 is KFXI Marlow 100 kW, C&W; 0051 ID ``KFXI Foxy 92``, and now it is definitely with $ tereo pilot, but was surely in mono whenever I heard it before and shown as such in WTFDA FM DB. I suppose we cannot be sure it will always be one or the other? If a station ever deliberately turn to mono e.g. during talk programming, it might forget to change back to $ (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** PERU. 4955, July 19 at 2247, good Spanish signal into Lima remote, S9+10/22, no doubt R. Cultural Amauta, or is it just R. Amauta as in WRTH? I should have stayed for an ID. Hearing it directly is tough, especially since it is not 24h (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.003+, Sat July 19 at 2211, VOT English not off the air, S9+25/45 into UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28200+ CW, July 19 at 2347, beacon with 20 E`s and very fast msg, starting with NST, which was probably really TEST, and from N4WLO/B, Theodore AL, heard before, listed 28200.5.
28209.5 CW, July 19 at 2348, K7EMX/B is audible as well as WWV on 25000; Kearns UT, no doubt reminding us to check out his QRZ.com site for loads of jabs at our dear leader: https://www.qrz.com/db/K7EMX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2304 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday July 19 at 0300 on WTWW 5085, S9+40/50 direct. After Ancient Word Radio and WTWW IDs claiming 100 kW, as usual I am introduced as a ``ministry``.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 1441 the 1430 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.001-, S9+5 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 1600 on WRN North America stream
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 1732 the 1730 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.002- S9/+10 and 3975.001+ S7/S9 with self-imposed tone, into UTwente.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 1939 about 5 minutes into so started circa 1934 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, S5.5 into K9VD Jerseyville IL remote only.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 2023 the 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 2100 on WRMI 9395, S9+25 into Georgia SDR.
Also confirmed Saturday July 19 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, abnormally JBA into Maryland SDR, but S9/+15 into UTwente where it`s aimed.
Also confirmed UT Sunday July 20 from 0325 the 0315v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S8/9+15 into N9AZZ remote in IL. Next:
1900 UT Sunday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160 [suspended]; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

** U S A. 9930, July 19 at 2342, WTWW with TOMBS is S9+40 direct, and no spurs or splatter unlike yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 25000, July 20 at 0026 since WWV is well heard now via sporadic E, I measure the offset on my R75: as if on 25000.113. And on 20000.078. And on 10000.044. Each may be a few Hz off; obviously the higher the frequency, the greater the error, but should be proportional. There is probably an adjustment somewhere inside the radio to ``zero`` the readout; but meanwhile this can be a rough correxion factor for other frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 28340 USB, July 20 at 0012-0025, two or three hams in colloquial Spanish, never heard an ID as they were more interested in masticando trapos. No other SSBs audible on 10m, but a few beacons. No hits on dxheat/dxcluster (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
