HCDX

6035even CHINA nothing at 11.47 UT from Thimphu Bhutan on that channel.
Nothing heard in Bangalore and Delhi India remote SDR rxs sites.

But powerhouse S=9+25dB or -55dBm Chinese program signal
noted at Hanoi VTN and Jakarte INS remote SDR rxs
from Kunming CHN even in ! 11-12 ! UT hour
(fault item in HFCC / Aoki database, requested 1200-1700 UT only there.)
And in between real Mandarin Chinese announcement,
Hanoi Vietnam signal is like armchair power.

Though S=9+10dB in remote Hiroshima Japan SDR unit too.

PNG ? 3325even kHz, likely NBC Bougainville at 11.35 UT on Jan 29
S=5 fair signal in Japan.

OTHR broadband powerhouse signal on 4940 - 5065 kHz
all over Japan monitoring.

AUSTRALIA? Noted string signal midst on radar on 5055.005 kHz
so - I guess -
Radio 4KZ is on air at 11.42 UT on Jan 29.

AUSTRALIA. 5055, Radio 4KZ, 1101+, Jan 27. News & weather; pop songs with
audio nicely above threshold level; Rick Astley - "Never Gonna Give You

radar.

BHUTAN. 6035, BBS, 1037*, Jan 28. Cut off during pop song; weak.

BOUGAINVILLE. 3325, NBC Bougainville, 1117-1206*, Jan 28. A day with
decent reception; DJ in Pidgin playing variety of pop songs (Marc
Anthony - "I Need You," etc.); 1155, with "5 minutes till 11", "Tuesday
night, 28 January 20-20, NBC Bougainville, Maus Blong Sankamap [Voice of
the Sunrise - Ron]. Broadcast on 3.325 . . in 90 meter band, shortwave one
and 95.5 megahertz in the FM band"; 1200, news in English; after the news,
"NBC Radio" ID (relayed from Port Moresby); cut off in mid-song.

BTW - NBC Madang (3260) has been silent for several day.

TAIWAN. 6215, Sound of Hope, 1100, Jan 26. Clear ID by OM and YL ("Xiwang

Rodrigo and Rudolf, thank you very much for your comments. So in fact I was
very lucky when I took a look into the 90 mb before I went to bed at
midnight between Sunday and Monday. After I have listened to my recording
several times, I think I can recognize Portuguese now. But Portuguese is not
my first language so I hope that you can recognize even more. You can listen
to my recording on my blog:

Headphones are necessary I think :-) it is really tough.

Thank you,

Hi Karel,
Radio Cultura 3365 kHz uses the 90 m signals on this time each year, when the city's soccer team (FC Ferroviaria) plays the annual state soccer championship.
A strong signal was heard here in São Bernardo (close to São Paulo) yesterday. The 90 m signal is kept in the air only during the football match. The signal is then deactivated.
Also, the announcer informed on the air that Radio Cultura de Araraquara at 790 kHz will be migrating to FM on January 30 (in a few days!). It is understood that the 90 meter signal will probably also be able to close permanently on the same day. 73, Rudolf Grimm

I was wondering if it was Radio Cultura B what I heard last night on 3365kHz with a sudden close down shortly after midnight UTC (0003 ?). The signal was very weak here in the middle of Europe so I could only guess it was in Portuguese.
What does Rudolf say - if he was listening too? Thanks.
Date and time: January 26/27, 2345-0005. Program: long, long male talk, nothing else.
