Glenn Hauser logs April 18, 2025 |
|
Friday, April 18 2025
** BRAZIL. 11780, Apr 18 at 0150, token English segment from RNB/RNA already underway, still interviewing that woman from Belém, Pará. VG via local `Brasila` SDR. 0154 into Spanish voiceover of same, specified as Part 4. I think they need a bit more time and a lot more variety in subject matter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GERMANY. 6070, Apr 18 at 1700+, Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot via Ch 292, featuring music from Lesotho. S9/+10 into UTwente. His voice announcements seem somewhat muffled. Repeats at 2100 on 3955, Sun Apr 20 at 17 on 9670 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 1549.81, Apr 18 at 0601, JBA carrier hetting 1550 stations still detectable despite considerable storm and line noise, presumed XEREL Morelia, Mich. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935.000-, Apr 18 at 1624, Rep. of Yemen Radio via Riyadh on near-exact frequency for a change, as Wolfgang Bueschel pointed out, after longtime circa 11934.9. Must have changed transmitters. Now UTwente shows 11934.999.3 varying to 11934.999.6, close enough. ACI from stronger English on 11940, which is CRI via Kashgar, East Turkistan, this hour only, std denunciation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SWITZERLAND [non]. 17555, Apr 18 at 1606, a C.M. Obrecht music special via Woofferton UK to S Asia, S9+5/20 into Kuwait after hearing nothing but noise at the two SDRs in India. He speaks in German, some English, also YL voice in French; promotes some meeting on 17 May of the R. Taiwan International Listeners Club (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2291 monitoring: confirmed first SWBC, Friday April 18 at 1300 on WRMI 15770, S5/S7.
Also confirmed Friday April 18 at 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.996-, S9 but noisy into UTwente across Europe.
Also confirmed Friday April 18 at 2030 on WRMI webcast only. Next:
2200 UT Friday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2230 UT Friday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0300 UT Saturday WTWW 5085 [irregular]; 0930 UT Saturday WRMI 9455 to WNW [has been off air; or 7730]; 1430 UT Saturday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1730 UT Saturday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM [1900/2100]; 2300 UT Saturday WTWW 9475 [suspended]; 0230vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400]; 1030 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1900 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW; 9455 to NW; or 7570?; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service program: thanks for a generous contribution via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com from Peter Robinson, Preston, UK.
One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7505, Apr 18 at 0608, undermodulated English, S9+35/40 as WRNO is not only active again but running late into night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, Apr 18 at 0518 UT, Spanish gospel music from KMMJ, Grand Island NE, with WSB mutually nullable at right angles. Again, KMMJ is NOT authorized to broadcast at night; but WSB could care less, as it`s now an FM station tail wagging the dog of outdated AM. Is there still an FCC monitoring station in Grand Island? I vaguely recall visiting it many years ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VATICAN. 15595, Apr 18 at 0617, ME language at S5/S8, the SSOB. VR is scheduled in Arabic at 0610-0630 daily except Sundays, but this did not sound like regular Arabic. Since it`s ``Good`` Friday, there may be schedule variations. Standard remarx about howcome this service to ME make it backwards so well to NAm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 860, Apr 18 at 0645 UT, plug local news on --- and 92.5 FM, WSOM. I`m not finding any matches, even fuzzy trying F and N instead of S and M in various combinations. However radio-locator leads to WSON, Henderson KY, on 860 and 96.5, https://wsonradio.com/ Could be that. Not unusual to hear otherstuff at night besides KKOW, such as French from CJBC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5890, Thu Apr 17 at 0553, WWCR is on again with gospel huxter, but unseems // 5850 TOMBS on WRMI; also 5980 leapfrog mix with 5935. Neither // 7570 WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, April 17, at 0600, WSB IDing as 95.5 only, bong and CBS news: still strixe me as strange, as WSB AM & TV were originally NBC; NRC AM Log shows not only CBS but also Fox. Then I null it and listen for KMMJ, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, April 17 at 0541 UT, no sign of Spanish into DX398 positioned to null WSB like last night, no KMMJ after-hours. BUT at 0601 recheck, now it *is* on with full Englishish ID for KMMJ, MyBridge, 104.7, 750 and several more FM/translators than we knew about, and into praise song in Spanish. So did it just start at 0600, 1 am local? Need also to check earlier in evening post-sunset.
WTFDA FM DB searching on Slogan MY BRIDGE gets 19 hits, all in Nebraska, but only two specified as relays of KMMJ 750 or KMMJ-750: K260AF 99.9 Kearney; and K282BR, 104.3 Grand Island, which are also the only two specified as Spanish lang. Formats for some are Contemporary Christian, presumably meaning music; others Religious Teaching, i.e. mainly talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2291)
** U S A. 1220 kHz, April 17 at 0616 UT, ESPN Radio - only one in NRC AM Log is KGIR, Cape Girardeau MO, U1 250/137 watts. Also likely by proximity (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 900, April 17 at 0607 UT, tent. mention of Farmington and 93.3 -- but no matchups in NRC AM Log or WTFDA FM DB. The main Farmington is in NM, but there are a few others. Maybe I misheard both clews, instead of Fulton, 95.3, as in KFAL Missouri with proximity (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs April 15-16, 2025 |
|
Thursday, April 17 2025
** BRAZIL. 11780, UT Wed Apr 16 at 0149, RNA/RNB English ID, S9+5/20 into local SDR, part 3 of interview with woman in Belém, 0154 English & Portuguese IDs, switch to Spanish. Missed checking UT Apr 15 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500, Wed Apr 16 at 2207, token English at 2200 from SNR, S9+10/25 direct to NAm; almost as good on 17715 for SAm, weaker 15520 for ME, and JBA 15390 for Africa; at least they are all on air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.007+, Apr 16 at 2206, after missing two days, VOT English not off the air, JBA direct S9+10 = noise level; into UTwente at 2237 when measured, S9/+5, sufficient but weaker than normal in degraded propagation. 2247 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2251 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2253 s/off as if it`s the 1230 on 17620, awry at Ankara; 2254 IS chopped before can finish first note sequence even once, no finesse, erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: ``Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), Antenna: random long wires in the trees. WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2290, 9395 kHz: aurora 50%, (6), 2330-2359, QRN, silent voice no program description, 2345, S6 signal, 2358, S7, S8 voice hard to hear, 2359, 9395 kHz, April 15 UTC 2025 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S5/S9 direct; S9+15/25 into Georgia SDR.
Also confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 2330 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.004-, S7/S9 but noisy into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 16 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975, S7/S9 into UTwente; by recording, 6160 not checked.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 16 at 2100 on WBCQ, 7490 -75 Hz = 7489.925, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR.
Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service program: thanks for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com from Dr Richard Langley, Fredericton NB.
One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, April 16 at 0625 UT, into E/W longwire, something in Spanish QRMing WSB at about equal level, praise music and brief comments, seems to include an English word in non-IDs. This is definitely something odd, not normally heard at all. I eliminate WSB by aiming the DX-398 N/S, and keep listening. 0627 talk about matrimonio. Mentions ``buenas nuevas`` which has always seemed to me a too literal translation of ``good news``. What is a ``nueva``, anyway, as opposed to a noticia? 0633 singing ID as ``Radio My Praise``? Not sure of key word. 0642, ``My Bread``? ``Música con mensajes``. Strong and hardly fades at all, indicating proximity, not Mex or LA. Dozed off and missed ToH ID 0700 if any; still going at 0707.
Later checking NRC AM Log, it`s obviously KMMJ, Grand Island, Nebraska, of the group named ``My Bridge``! One of those rare AM stations with a limited-time license, L1, neither daytimer nor fulltimer, but depends on LSR and LSS at WSB Atlanta. That certainly does not include the middle of the night!! Power 10500 watts. Of course they have mere FM translators where 24h is legal: per radio-locator, K260AF, 99.9 in Kearney, K284DC, 104.7 Grand Island. There are no others beyond these 3 in the MyBridge group, per NRC.
Has broad pattern favoring SW, bit of notch toward WSB. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KMMJ&service=AM A.k.a. ``Mi Puente`` but what I`ve been hearing sounds more like Bridge. HQ is in Aurora, or Lincoln NE, see https://es.mybridgeradio.net/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 880, April 16 at 0644 UT, brief tunearound during 750 KMMJ monitoring finds another Spanish here making low SAH with KRVN, ``Radio Visión Latina``. None such in NRC AM Log, but previously identified as KJOZ Conroe TX, which made a big deal of adding AM 880 to 106.1 FM, in Houston: https://www.instagram.com/radiovisionlatinatx/reel/C7RzTLGPIf8/ It`s U4 10/1 kW. WTFDA FMDB shows 106.1 is a mere translator, K291CE in Houston, licensed for 28 watts but outputting 900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1650, April 16 at 0618 UT, continuous tone matching keyboard at D# = 311 Hz, presumed overnight filler by KSVE El Paso (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 9936.00, Apr 16 at 0606, open carrier but with clix every 3 seconds, sometimes with some others between. Clix detectable out to 9917/9951, and probably a bit further if it were not for STANAG noise and BBC 9915, WRMI 9955. What is this? Yet another one ending in 6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Tuesday, April 15 2025
** CHINA. 18970 & 18900, Apr 15 at 2212, Chinese at S7/S9, no doubt CNR1 jammers as this SWBC band is occupied exclusively by nothing but Sound of Hope and such jammers. Checked after signs of China on 17 MHz band, but no broadcasts on 21 MHz band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE. 13695, Apr 15 at 0656, French from RFI to W Africa, S6/S7, uncomfortably close to 13690 NZ in an otherwise almost vacant band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 6185-, Apr 15 at 0647, XEPPM with S9+15/25 of dead air again. Something`s mixedup in Mexico (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 5890, Tue Apr 15 at 0645, WWCR contrary to own sked is on this weeknight with TOMBS, who admitted long ago whenever this was taped in his pre-death era, that he has ``nothing new to say`` -- I`ll say!! Since DGS is also on 5935 WWCR, they join to produce the leapfrog mixing product on 5980. TOMBS also on 5850 WRMI, not //, at least far out of synch as usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. After catching all those JBA MW carriers traced to RNE Radio 5 on April 14 after 0500 UT, I try again April 15 at 0500-0506, but not a trace in full bandscans up and down twice on both antennas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, April 15 at 2215, NO signal direct from VOT English; nor possible accidentalternate 9875. Likewise at 2250 into UTwente. Something`s erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 4095, April 15 at 0642, ``Desert Whooper`` is JBA vs noise level, sweeps upward and DW in CW; somewhere in The Southwest? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday April 15 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+35/50 into S Texas SDR.
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 1305 the 1300 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9 direct.
Also confirmed Tuesday April 15 at1424 the 1400 on WRMI 9955, JBA direct.
Not confirmed Tue Apr 15 at 1830 into UTwente on IRRS SW, 7290, something else airing while WOR did show last week, apparently an unexplained anomaly.
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 until 2029 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.996-, noisy S9 into UTwente. Next:
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
** VANUATU. 9960, Apr 15 at 0652, RV with island music, S7/S9 stronger than usual, but weaker than 9955 undermodulated WRMI S9/+10 not a problem (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
