Abis have two peaks. 21-22 is supposed to be a pause between CRI until
21 and BBC from 22 on 9440. Heard some Qur`aning for a while, it`s the
Fribbath after all, violating Separation of Mosque and State. English
sked until 2245, but by 2150 I notice it`s off, probably a few minutes
earlier. At *2158 new carrier on with tone, weaker S8/S9 on 9440.003,
presumably BBC via Philippines as now sked. Something`s always

** INDIA. 15050, Aug 11 at 2352, S Asian song, S5/S9 with heavy
flutter. Akashvani in Mandarin via Bengaluru is at 2345-0115, but no

deadair, no doubt still KOCD Okeene, Spanish religion, as first noted

that its modulation has failed -- also speaks volumes about their

weeks admittedly and their first chance to report on the July 23
elexion - but the results are still unclear. There will be another one
on Aug 17? or at least that is when parliament reconvenes. Several
world news items too, but they can hardly catch up with two
sesquiweeks missed. 2208 about a ``painter of light`` in Valencia,
Joaquín Sorolla - search him out but beware that all the images that
show up are not necessarily his. 2215 about various fiestas around
Spain, not necessarily at this time of year, 2224 one in Canary
Islands; 2225 ``burial of the sardine`` but I missed where. Most
hosted by two YL voices, outro as the familiar Amy Egan and the other
someone Quintana. Also heard an unfamiliar OM voice with a canned ID.
Other frequencies unchecked except on the waterfall I could also see a

in passing and next feature is DX specialist Carl Mann, `DX History
for Beginners` about first radio broadcast 1906y by Fessenden, etc.
Has interview and clips of something. 0339 back to music. During this
8 minutes heard nothing gospelhuxtery other than ``New Life Station``
but I`m sure they will get to that after some secular enticement.

I wonder how many beginner listeners know they are tuned to
MADAGASCAR, MWV relay under same WCB ownership? I`m under the
impression that Carl produced a limited number of evergreen `DX`
features many years ago for KNLS, and they keep running thru them over
and over. I met Carl at a DX convention, and later he told me all

Per HFCC, this 03-04 broadcast like an identical one at 02-03, is 100
kW aimed 40 degrees toward S Asia, roughly 90 degrees away from
USward, yet we get this outstanding signal off the side? Because the
T/E path to us is so superior propagationally? It`s the closest we get
to antipodal SWBC. Is the earlier hour also of identical content?

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Thu Aug 10 at 1740, on a fluke I check
Argentine remote for LRA36, and there it is! Pop music at S8/9+10;
1747 applause but cut to more music. So toward end of a midday weekday
broadcast or start of an afternoon/evening? The latter: 1757 begins
repeating canned IDs, ``la voz de Argentina para el mundo`` among
slogans. Estudio 9, Uniendo Voces, credit Univ. de Quilmes and
individuals. Continuous musical background during talk, self-QRM, why?
1807 into programming; 1815 IDs, music, etc. Checked direct now:
absolutely no signal, as usual. 1823, ``Con el viento al sur`` song
title. 1829, promotion of Univ. Quilmes activities. Suddenly chopped
off air at 1838* as she is about to announce that song again. Never
comes back in next semihour as I let SDR run while I attempt to nap.

I was dodging storms last Saturday Aug 5 and never got to check for it
then. Meanwhile a very interesting exposure of its true mission:
promoting Argentine imperialism, remember Malvinas! BBC Monitoring
later translated it and it`s via Mike Cooper in the WOR iog. But first

for 15230 Cuba, S9 but it`s JBM; only thing else is weak JBA 15195
surely NHK.

However, RNZP website shows French news today at 10:30-10:45 am =
2230-2245 UT Wednesday, and available among other Paclangs;

of 7570 WRMI. Never noted it QRMing RMI when on, however. It`s like an
anvil, sending V over and over, part of the time with an extended DAH.

17460, at 1800 both here making a fast SAH - like 16 Hz? talk vs
music. After my lunch break, at 1840: 17460, both still here, YL talk
stronger than OM shouting with music.

Now, which is which? The +17 Hz offset implies Turkey jammer, typical
for Emirler, but would expect it to be stronger than supposed
Uzbekistan site for Dengê Welat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Enid CBer blocking the channel. Somewhat separable by tuning to

** OKLAHOMA. 101.5, Aug 9 at 2004 UT, dead air in $ tereo on caradio
during bandscan not expecting any DX except some MS pings. Still dead
several minutes later. Must be my nearest, KOCD Okeene, 14 kW, a real
station which relays an LP, 0.1 kW KWDW 93.9, OKC, which I can`t hear
due to KIMY Watonga, salvation in English. Yet WTFDA FMDB shows
different brandings: 101.5 R. Salvación; 93.9 R. Bautista Calvario! I
have zero interest in either so had not listened closely for which,
when KOCD manage to modulate (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

summer, so no news, but admittedly a repeat of June 30 about a
magazine, The Riveter? which deals in English with literature in

about Earth`s axis tilting a bit more due to use of groundwater, and
sealevel rise. She never mentions the showname in the body for a
better? chance at outfiguring it. 2220 song. 2225 multi-lingual ID
filler reel. 2227 `Feeling Supreme/The Healing Supring` on How to Take
Medicine - it makes a difference to the stomach whether lying on left
or right side, or standing, which is best. 2233 song. 2237 `Weekly
Commentry` read by the badax about who knows what, always ``penned``
-- ballpoint, or quill? by some academic, usually foreign. 2249
``always with you`` promo, music. 2252 s/off of 4 other English
transmissions, never this one: who cares? It`s in the middle of the
night! 2254 IS. 2256 switch to German IDs interspersed: here we go
again. 2300 timesignal about 47 seconds late, not all of which can be
due to internet delay; but cut off air by 2301*. UTwente still getting
a much weaker signal, maybe exciter turned off later as soon, nothing.
