No Shortwave Radiogram today 1400-1430 on 9400  View Printable Version
Saturday, April 06 2019

HCDX

hi Dr. Kim Andrew Elliott_KD9XB

when issued the new A-19 hobby program file
for our wwdxc germany yesterday,

I learned that confused scheduling, or lets say cuddly muddles

13.00 n o t on air: SCL Kostinbrod near Sofia Bulgaria in previous hour.

9400 kHz covered by usual Chinese hour from FEBC Manila Iba site 10-14 UT,
S=9+30dB Mandarin heard instead transmit digital hobby files via Kostinbrod
bcast center

'Slow Scan Radio' not heard 13 UT 6070, 7440 from Ingolstadt Rohrbach hobby
channel.

9485 kHz sideband, not heard, not traced here in various European SDR's
this afternoon 14 UT, but totally splatter of 300 kW RRI Galbeni in Romanian
language noon service,

next channel of 9490 kHz at 13.00-14.57 UT,
latter S=9+35dB mostly in western Europe.

Subject: No Shortwave Radiogram today 1400-1430 on 9400

I have just been informed that Shortwave Radiogram will not be transmitted
today (Saturday), 1400-1430 UTC, 9400 kHz, via Space Line Bulgaria. This is
due to "unresolved scheduling issues." Future broadcasts of Shortwave
Radiogram via Space Line are uncertain.

Also, if WINB changed its DRM frequency to 15120 kHz, they did not inform
me. My weekly email to Shortwave Radiogram listeners thus still listed 13755
as the DRM frequency.

Info about this week's Shortwave Radiogram:

Here is the revised Shortwave Radiogram schedule for this weekend, with the
DRM broadcast spilt milk ...

For the second early morning in a row, I am hearing a fairly loud hitch
pitched warbling tone, like someone on 1630 is off frequency, and I think
its recent. I didn't notice it a week ago. I am not sure who it is to be
honest. It does go away after sunrise, so I am pretty sure it's not my
local KRND Fox Farm/Cheyenne because I don't hear it when the only station
I can hear on 1630 is KRND.

I only see two options really, KKHM Fort worth or KCJJ Iowa City. To my
knowledge, I have never heard XEUT

(The Japan Times, Japan, via Mike Terry-UK, March 28)

According to March 27 edition of Sankei Shimbun and April 4 edition of
Tokyo Shimbun, Japan Commercial Broadcasting Association (JBA) required
the following main items at the meeting of experts in Ministry of
Internal Affairs and Communications (MIT) held on March 27.

1) System modification before 2028 to enable AM broadcasters to convert FM
by their own judgment,

2) Permission before 2023 to enable AM broadcasters to stop AM broadcasting
experimentally for a long period.

It is said MIT fears China will occupy and dominate the vacant AM(MW) band.

The president of NHK, Ryoichi Ueda, said at the press conference on April 4,
NHK will continue to broadcast on AM, because, by the Japanese broadcasting
low, NHK is under the obligation to completely cover the
whole territory of Japan.

According to JBA, there are 207 members in April 2018.
Among them 15 MW, 1 SW, 32 AM+TV broadcasters.
