** ALGERIA. Correxion: original post typoed 12590 instead of 13590: I have extracted complete schedule from HFCC as of May 12:
Béchar site, 300 kW at 131 degrees from the NW near Morocco: 03-06 9470 & 9500 [alternates; 9470 reported] 06-09 15110 09-11 17600 11-18 21550 18-21 17600 21-03 13590 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2191) ** INTERNATIONAL INTERNET. Here`s another neat little program not only on but produced at KUCO 90.1 and streaming. Many of the episodes are in ``the rest of the story`` style with a big reveal at the end, finding out who he has been talking about. I see that it is syndicated by PRX to some other stations but I have not found an affiliate list. They may be conveniently auditioned in groups of 5 at a time = less than 14 minutes per week. A Day to Remember with Kent Anderson Weekdays: 8am & 5pm {CDT = 13 & 22 UT} A Day To Remember is a daily journey into the treasures of history, great and small. Researched, written, and hosted by longtime KUCO broadcaster and award-winning novelist Kent Anderson, A Day to Remember covers a wide range of topics, ranging from ancient history to the 21st century: battles and elections, inventions and adventures, art and culture, science and spirit. “It isn’t just a typical ‘this day in history’ module, and it isn’t a lesson or a lecture,” says Anderson. “I’m telling stories. Some of them will be familiar, famous events, and others will feature stories from the past that we may not have heard so often.” https://exchange.prx.org/series/44007-a-day-to-remember Details Date-based history modules. Run time 02:45 for all episodes Related Site {with scripts and illustrations}: facebook.com/ADayToRememberRadio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2191) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, May 18 at 1520 UT, BAD undecodable signal from Enid`s only local TV transmitter, K17JN-D with 3ABN network. Presumably caused by DX QRM as there is mild tropo around here per APRS map. Bandscan finds only two other BAD signals, on `open` channels, RF 31 & 34. Soon K17JN recovers (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** TURKEY. Correxion to VOT English schedule previously posted with two typos: Elexion returns: It might be more interesting than usual to monitor VOT today and tonight. If they can make it onto air, don`t expect any Breaking News rather than olds, but FWIW, English hours: 1830 5945, 2030 9875, 22 11785, 03 6165 7275, 1230 15450, 1630 11660 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2191) ** U S A [and non]. ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, May 17 at 1936, Manuel Méndez in Spain reports LRA36 already on the air this Wednesday. For a while it had seemed they were on Saturdays only and there was no advance notice of this. So I tune in at 2026. It`s JBA on the Mendoza, Argentina SDR, but good S6/S7 into Buenos Aires, during a song; 2040 talk, ID as on SW and streaming via Tierra del Fuego at HQ website. 2046 music, 2051 canned ID and talk about the silencio at Marambio base, with a brief bit of noise at 2101 like wind in the mike. 2103 noticias australes by YL, but by 2103 fade-out or off the air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA [and non]. 5990, May 17 at 0003, no signal into Georgia SDR; had been CRI Spanish relay via CUBA, which may have been canceled, but did not get around to rechecking later in hour. 24 hours later, May 18 at 0003, 5990 is on air with music but can`t be sure it`s CRI. Yes, I can: // 9560 & 9800 into UTwente not synched. 9710 & 9590 are sked 0100-0300. Both confirmed into UTwente but 9710 stronger, at 0158 concluding in Spanish about the Chinese language, 0200 usual ToH theme music, no news. That completes my chex of all previously scheduled CRI Spanish broadcasts on SW, which still exist but without any current event coverage (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 12200, May 17 at 0642, RHC English again, S9 with some squeal // fundamental 6100 weaker S7/S9. Nothing audible on 6100 X 3 = 18300, which might be possible under optimum conditions, if not X 4 = 24400. No other fundamentals still on. 6100 and therefore 12200 are off already at next check 0651, before this hour can complete, frustrating listeners? Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SLOVAKIA [non]. Further chex of RSI relays via WRMI, UT May 17: at 0047, 5850 // 7730 // 15770, subject adoption, so we know it is the new Tue May 16 edition on System F as heard earlier. 0130 is the next scheduled RSI relay on 5800, but instead we hear NHK World in English after a couple of false starts. This had been on System K with the Jan 30 RSI program as heard at 0630 May 16. NHK does not appear anywhere on the WRMI skedgrid now partially updated as of May 12. It does now show 7730 as XMTR 2 at 44 degrees to ENA, 24 hours, much but not all of it duplicating 15770 at same azimuth for Europe. 0300 is next scheduled RSI relay supposedly on 7730, 7780 and 15770 --- but monitored on 7780 only, no date copied at outset but not the Mon Jan 30 show, rather Tue May 16 one with something about European summit in Iceland. 7730 & 15770 with SMTV instead. The transmitter grid atop now shows that, not the program grid abottom. At 0630 May 17, RSI again on 7730 and much weaker 15770, System H with same Jan 30 show as 24 hours earlier and no doubt also previous 105 days intervening, mentioning a Jan 27 anniversary of something in WWII (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 11785, May 17 at 2200, VOT is not off the air today, S7/S9 with timesignal; later compared to WWV as 12.5 seconds late. Standard remark about inaccurate pipping; on another receiver I`d already heard 17855 Spain`s more accurate timesig. Further chex direct, despite constant squeal on the frequency, some distortion, and too-accented announcers: 2217 `Whipping Piles` something about AI systems; music break. 2225.5 two-minute multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2227.5 `Weekly Commentary` penned by that Jonathan again. 2251 the multi-lingual ID filler reel *again* already; s/off, 2254 IS to 2255:58*. Something`s always awry at Ankara, erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UQKOGBANI [non]. 5130.06, May 17 at 0656, surprised to encounter UK-orientated commercialstring after a bit of rock music and DJ; then Radio Caroline ! IDs in passing. 0701 full ID, sounded like ``6-40`` instead of 648 kHz. Then back to DJ and rock, S7/S9. Got to be a relay via WBCQ but off-frequency+plus implies it is not the usual R. Angela transmitter which is always slightly off-frequency-minus. Was there any advance publicity about this, or was I the sole listener who ran across it in a routine bandscan at a time WBCQ is normally way off the air? Not a twit about it from AW, nor anything on the WBCQ website; one-off, or to continue? Full span unknown as past my bedtime. I asked Bill Tilford of R. Angela if he knows anything about this? ``I was not informed in advance, but apparently they are testing another transmitter outside of core hours on 5130 using Radio Caroline material. At the moment that's all I know. I can tell you that Radio Angela per se is an endangered species if we don't get a significant uptick in financial support in terms of more airtime buys, donations or some combination of the two rather soon. This was a bold experiment but is not achieving sustainable economic results. We would hardly be the first quality broadcasting venture to fold its tent after one season if that happens. Those who consistently complain about all the political and religious programming on the air would do well to take note.`` Here is the complete May schedule: http://wbcq.com/radio-angela-schedule-may-2023.pdf (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2190 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday May 16 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S8/9+10 into Georgia SDR. Also confirmed Wednesday May 17 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 minus 73 Hz = 7489.927, S9 into Maryland SDR. Seemed to start earlier than traditional 21 seconds past the hour. Next: 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated; via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Updated WRMI skedgrid shows an additional WOR airing, Sunday 1330 on 9955 System C. Also, the UT Sat 0130 not only on 5850 but also on 7730 now reactivated System F (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5130v, WBCQ: See UQKOGBANI [non] ** U S A. 7505, May 17 at 0653, canned WRNO ID as I tune in but the gospel huxter audio is not paused or diminished resulting in an unholy mix. Something`s SNAFU at Fort Worth (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, May 17 at 0704, R. Vanuatu still poor here with BB talk, no switch to 3945/7890/11835/15780 at 0659. Same thing happened last night when I was not monitoring but noted by Ron Howard on May 15 and 16, much later QSY (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0009 UT May 18

** CHINA [and non]. A few days ago, May 12, we had news that CRI had stopped Spanish on SW, to continue only online as ``Onda China``. This has remained unverified, so on May 16 I resolve to check scheduled Spanish broadcasts.
17680, May 16 at 0626, JBA carrier, no more than that, like several others in the nightmiddle on 16mb. CRI only thing was sked, at 06-08 via Kashi/Kashgar, occupied EAST TURKISITAN. Next Spanish scheduled from 2100. Monitoring via UTwente: 7335 is on already in Chinese as scheduled at 2054. 9640 pops on at *2057 with music not // 7335, and at 2059, 9640 talk in neither Spanish nor Chinese, but they are joint from 2100, just more different music. I can`t listen for whole hour, but at 2157, they are both in Spanish, seems to be concluding a language lesson. 2200 sounds like same music heard an hour earlier, and now also // 17880, still at 2207. At 2221 now a Spanish feature about Chinese folktales, with birdchrip SFX etc., just like I heard May 12 at 2120: identical? or maybe another episode. At 2313 check May 16, 11855 // 9800 // 9590 with music to UTwente. My impression so far is that what Spanish remains on CRI/RIC is evergreen archives stuff, nothing about current events requiring a live staff and new produxion. ``Hoy, 20 de abril``, she says at 2321 May 16 on Chinese learning, for el dia de la lengua china``. How about the CRI website? Here`s a page linked as RADIO but it mentions everyplatform but SW: https://espanol.cri.cn/audioonline/index.shtml and everything on it is dated 2017! Here`s a very generic 2-hour program block showing as of 2017, Boletín Informativo starting each hour - NOT: https://espanol.cri.cn/audioonline/informaciones/1223/20170922/30430.html?spm=C46183.PbSsQMGvcUEK.E8hury4RDGY9.1 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 6000 // 9700, May 16 at 0127, RHC English only here, both somewhat undermodulated with 6165 long gone. 0243 recheck, 9700 now has CCI clearly underneath from Spanish, i.e. Romania as scheduled 0200-0257. How could RRI possibly know about RHC which refuses to register in HFCC? Someone should tell them. I don`t know the total span of RHC 9700, but varies to much later. Aoki does not list it at all, while EiBi shows 01-04 incorrect Spanish, 05-07 English, all irregular. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 12200, May 16 at 0643, RHC English, S8/9+10 and somewhat undermodulated; i.e. 2 x 6100 which is indeed still on and much weaker S7/S9; and no other RHCs found on any band. Same situation as on May 12 when both were heard but dead air. And April 18 with disturbed modulation. Not only is the harmonic escaping, but the fundamental is weaker indicating transmitter mistuned to peak on X2. Something`s always wrong at RHC! Also today I decide to give RHC another chance to provide an uptodate nominal schedule. The homepage defaults to Spanish, and under De Interés, a drop down to https://www.radiohc.cu/de-interes/frecuencias On the homepage there are no longer flag icons for languages, such as UK`s for English, never USA`s! let alone words. To get to English you have to click on the globe icon in upper right to get a drop-down of langs. Click and wait for slow loading. Eventually: https://www.radiohc.cu/en From there under Interesting another drop-down including Frequencies: https://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/frecuencias same as you get by going via Spanish: also for the B20 season, starting Nov 17, 2020! FWIW: ``HORARIOS, BANDAS Y FRECUENCIAS PERIODO NOVIEMBRE 2020/MARZO 2021 CAMBIO DE HORARIO Y FRECUENCIA 17 DE NOVIEMBRE ZONAS GEOGRÁFICAS FRECUENCIAS HORARIOS - UTC TRANSMISIONES EN IDIOMA INGLÉS (ENGLISH) New York 6060 Khz /49 m 05:00 - 07:00 San Francisco 6100 Khz /49 m 06:00 - 08:00 Chicago 15140 Khz /19 m 20:00 - 21:00 9700 Khz /30 m 01:00 - 07:00 Washington 6000 Khz /49 m 01:00 - 07:00 06:00 - 08:00 Banda Tropical 5040 Khz /60 m 24:00 - 01:00 06:00 - 07:00 Africa 11880 Khz /25 m 22:00 - 23:00`` The times, such as 15140 at 20-21 instead of current 19-20, correspond to some winter/B season, not summer/A. I`ve yet to catch the Africa service before or after 23 UT on 11880, and suspect it has totally got lost. It used to be at 22 UT in B seasons, 23 in A seasons, opposite of DST shifting. How about programming, in English? https://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/programacion It leads to exactly the same thing as this: How about programming, in Spanish: https://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/programacion This is NOT a program sked - no names or times of specific pgms, but a transmission sked in English and the other languages. This one is undated, but we recognize some frequencies long out of use, if ever, so surely is very outdated. Like 17730, 6075, 9850, 17580. Somethings` VERY wrong at RHC. Things were a little better until the passing of frequency manager Arnaldo Coro Antich, who refused to participate in HFCC, but would send more or less intentional seasonal schedules to Wolfgang Büschel. I wonder who`s mismanaging them now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KURDISTAN [non]. 17480, May 16 at 1537, S5/S8 talk with heavy flutter; can`t be sure if one station or two in Turkey`s radiojamming war; but there is a JBA carrier on 17450, maybe Dengê Welat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MADAGASCAR. 17790, May 16 at 0627, S5/S9 piano and orchestra playing an hymn, the SSOB until cutoff at 0629* with no ID or announcement. Scheduled as AWR French at 0600 via Talata (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 350 MCW kHz, May 16 at 1535 UT, still no signal from RG, 400-watt ND beacon at Will Rogers World Airport, SW corner of OKC. I patrol past here at least once every day or night; first date noted absent was Feb 20. It had been on since Jan 6 after missing as of Dec 23. Here is the info from RNA Signals List at: https://rxx.classaxe.com/en/rna/signals ``OKLAHOMA NFDD 238 - 1 12/13/2022 OKLAHOMA CITY GALLY NDB IDENT RG LAT 35-17-42.23 N **LONG 097-35-19.24 W **NAVAID STATUS DECOMMISSIONED *** still on air Dec 14, 2022 *** /// subsequent NOTAM says status 'operational' the first one may have been in error /// Decom (again) per NFDD 009 - 3 01/13/2023 - Last Logged: 2023-01-24`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SINGAPORE. 12025, May 16 at 1543, S3/S7 something in English. It`s BBCWS at 15-19 aimed NW from Kranji, better than expected here to the NNE (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SLOVAKIA [non]. 15770, May 16 at 0630, WRMI-9 propagating well tonight, S9+10/20 as R. Slovakia International relay starts as scheduled on System H daily. But I can hardly believe my ears as it`s announced as the *Monday, January 30* broadcast! Among other things, about some WWII anniversary on January 27. This must mean that WRMI has got no newer files than 3.5 months ago from this station. Has no one else noticed? Something`s odd at Okeechobee. Another System H time is 0130 on 5800. However, RSI is also scheduled at more times on System F, a different server, which might not be so outdated. Listen for datestamps at their sign-ons! 2200 on 5850 0030 on 5850, 7730, 15770 0300 on 7730, 7780, 15770 5850 hardly gets out as early as 2200 in summer, but Georgia remote gets enough of it to confirm as a new one for today dated Tuesday May 16 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785, May 16 at 2203, VOT English is not off the air but S9+50/55 into UTwente with accented news. Spot chex while also monitoring Slovakia [non], China, and BBC News on PBS TV: 2214-2228 `Weekly Commentary` penned by Jonathan somebody and read by heavyaccentedess, subject at start about China involvement in ME as in détente -- is that too strong? between Sa`udi Arabia and Iran. 2234 `Turkey`s Geomarked [?] Products`, 2252 usual sign-off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2190 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday May 16 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+20/25 into Missouri SDR. As always for this emission, Jeff starts to insert a ``World is in turmoil`` commercial between ID and my start. Can`t automation be adjusted to fix errors like this? Next: 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated; via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5130, May 16 at 0128, S8/S9 of open carrier, surely WBCQ, but why? R. Angela not starting until 0200 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, May 16 at 0648, S9+30 as WRNO vies to win the dead-air sweepstakes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 10140, May 16 at 1546 two JBA carriers. Not a known Sound of Hope frequency tho 10160 is; and nothing to harmonicize from 5070 whence WWCR longgone. Maybe utes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2325 UT May 16

** CHILE. 28415 USB, May 15 at 2312, CE2TP in contact with a W9. QRZ.com: CE2TP Chile flag Chile, ALEJANDRO GUSTAVO TOLEDO SCHIAFFINO, Olmue, V Región, Chile.
Gracias por mirar, un gran abrazo para todos y nos vemos en radio.`` In my brief F2 10m session, heard only one other phone higher up and two Es beacons lower down from MEXICO, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, May 15 at 0638, huge S9+10 dead air, got to be RHC way out of whack again, supposedly daytime only frequency. Now it`s the SSOB by far -- strongest signal on band, not even 15770 WRMI more than JBA carrier. No other RHCs found now on any band. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 28183+, May 15 at 2314, VVV XE1RCS/B and E+ something grid square: XE1RCS Mexico flag Mexico, Radio Club Satélite A.C., Apartado Postal 341-A, Ciudad Satélite, Naucalpan, Edo Mex 53100, Mexico. Re R Northern Star via TRSW via WRMI, "All the music is US classic rock, in English, and even the wide variety of jingles and IDs are in American accent." Kari Kallio, Finland replies: ``RNS buys the entire music program package ready-made, I remember from the USA. Svenn might have said the name of that company to me, but in that case I've already happily forgotten it. br Kari`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Mon May 15 at 2200, NO signal from REE to NAm; 15520 & 17715 in OK, as Justin skips any news, about this being 40th anniversary from 1983 teletext in Spain, then interview with an artist named Williams (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. Correcting my comment about 5960 not in English, May 14: ``5960 always carries Turkish, English at 18:30 was on 5945 kHz as usual. Announcer Omar was reading out the latest election figures followed by some music. I did not stay listening for long. 11785 at 23:00 [2200 UT] is too late for me to listen. Earlier in the day at 12:30 on 15450 kHz, the lady announcer with the almost incomprehensible accent was on duty, speaking about the election. She appears to have been suffering from a sore throat - due to a virus - or maybe from over enthusiastic shouting at a rally? It looks like a winner for Erdogan in the run-off in two weeks time. So another 5 years of oppression of the media in Turkiye. Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.`` on the WOR iog. 9875, May 15 at 2042, VOT English via UTwente, S9+20/30 but heavyaccent YL about elexion. 2045 `Feeling Supreme` theme; 2105 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 11785, May 15 at 2200, not off the air direct but poor. It would take very careful listening with perfect reception and accent to evaluate whether VOT reporting is objective or partial to Recep (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non].
