Glenn Hauser logs April 15-16, 2025 |
|
Thursday, April 17 2025
** BRAZIL. 11780, UT Wed Apr 16 at 0149, RNA/RNB English ID, S9+5/20 into local SDR, part 3 of interview with woman in Belém, 0154 English & Portuguese IDs, switch to Spanish. Missed checking UT Apr 15 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500, Wed Apr 16 at 2207, token English at 2200 from SNR, S9+10/25 direct to NAm; almost as good on 17715 for SAm, weaker 15520 for ME, and JBA 15390 for Africa; at least they are all on air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.007+, Apr 16 at 2206, after missing two days, VOT English not off the air, JBA direct S9+10 = noise level; into UTwente at 2237 when measured, S9/+5, sufficient but weaker than normal in degraded propagation. 2247 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2251 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2253 s/off as if it`s the 1230 on 17620, awry at Ankara; 2254 IS chopped before can finish first note sequence even once, no finesse, erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: ``Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), Antenna: random long wires in the trees. WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2290, 9395 kHz: aurora 50%, (6), 2330-2359, QRN, silent voice no program description, 2345, S6 signal, 2358, S7, S8 voice hard to hear, 2359, 9395 kHz, April 15 UTC 2025 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S5/S9 direct; S9+15/25 into Georgia SDR.
Also confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 2330 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.004-, S7/S9 but noisy into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 16 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975, S7/S9 into UTwente; by recording, 6160 not checked.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 16 at 2100 on WBCQ, 7490 -75 Hz = 7489.925, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR.
Next: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service program: thanks for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com from Dr Richard Langley, Fredericton NB.
One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, April 16 at 0625 UT, into E/W longwire, something in Spanish QRMing WSB at about equal level, praise music and brief comments, seems to include an English word in non-IDs. This is definitely something odd, not normally heard at all. I eliminate WSB by aiming the DX-398 N/S, and keep listening. 0627 talk about matrimonio. Mentions ``buenas nuevas`` which has always seemed to me a too literal translation of ``good news``. What is a ``nueva``, anyway, as opposed to a noticia? 0633 singing ID as ``Radio My Praise``? Not sure of key word. 0642, ``My Bread``? ``Música con mensajes``. Strong and hardly fades at all, indicating proximity, not Mex or LA. Dozed off and missed ToH ID 0700 if any; still going at 0707.
Later checking NRC AM Log, it`s obviously KMMJ, Grand Island, Nebraska, of the group named ``My Bridge``! One of those rare AM stations with a limited-time license, L1, neither daytimer nor fulltimer, but depends on LSR and LSS at WSB Atlanta. That certainly does not include the middle of the night!! Power 10500 watts. Of course they have mere FM translators where 24h is legal: per radio-locator, K260AF, 99.9 in Kearney, K284DC, 104.7 Grand Island. There are no others beyond these 3 in the MyBridge group, per NRC.
Has broad pattern favoring SW, bit of notch toward WSB. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KMMJ&service=AM A.k.a. ``Mi Puente`` but what I`ve been hearing sounds more like Bridge. HQ is in Aurora, or Lincoln NE, see https://es.mybridgeradio.net/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 880, April 16 at 0644 UT, brief tunearound during 750 KMMJ monitoring finds another Spanish here making low SAH with KRVN, ``Radio Visión Latina``. None such in NRC AM Log, but previously identified as KJOZ Conroe TX, which made a big deal of adding AM 880 to 106.1 FM, in Houston: https://www.instagram.com/radiovisionlatinatx/reel/C7RzTLGPIf8/ It`s U4 10/1 kW. WTFDA FMDB shows 106.1 is a mere translator, K291CE in Houston, licensed for 28 watts but outputting 900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1650, April 16 at 0618 UT, continuous tone matching keyboard at D# = 311 Hz, presumed overnight filler by KSVE El Paso (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 9936.00, Apr 16 at 0606, open carrier but with clix every 3 seconds, sometimes with some others between. Clix detectable out to 9917/9951, and probably a bit further if it were not for STANAG noise and BBC 9915, WRMI 9955. What is this? Yet another one ending in 6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Tuesday, April 15 2025
** CHINA. 18970 & 18900, Apr 15 at 2212, Chinese at S7/S9, no doubt CNR1 jammers as this SWBC band is occupied exclusively by nothing but Sound of Hope and such jammers. Checked after signs of China on 17 MHz band, but no broadcasts on 21 MHz band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE. 13695, Apr 15 at 0656, French from RFI to W Africa, S6/S7, uncomfortably close to 13690 NZ in an otherwise almost vacant band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 6185-, Apr 15 at 0647, XEPPM with S9+15/25 of dead air again. Something`s mixedup in Mexico (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 5890, Tue Apr 15 at 0645, WWCR contrary to own sked is on this weeknight with TOMBS, who admitted long ago whenever this was taped in his pre-death era, that he has ``nothing new to say`` -- I`ll say!! Since DGS is also on 5935 WWCR, they join to produce the leapfrog mixing product on 5980. TOMBS also on 5850 WRMI, not //, at least far out of synch as usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. After catching all those JBA MW carriers traced to RNE Radio 5 on April 14 after 0500 UT, I try again April 15 at 0500-0506, but not a trace in full bandscans up and down twice on both antennas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, April 15 at 2215, NO signal direct from VOT English; nor possible accidentalternate 9875. Likewise at 2250 into UTwente. Something`s erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 4095, April 15 at 0642, ``Desert Whooper`` is JBA vs noise level, sweeps upward and DW in CW; somewhere in The Southwest? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday April 15 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+35/50 into S Texas SDR.
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 at 1305 the 1300 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9 direct.
Also confirmed Tuesday April 15 at1424 the 1400 on WRMI 9955, JBA direct.
Not confirmed Tue Apr 15 at 1830 into UTwente on IRRS SW, 7290, something else airing while WOR did show last week, apparently an unexplained anomaly.
Confirmed Tuesday April 15 until 2029 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.996-, noisy S9 into UTwente. Next:
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
** VANUATU. 9960, Apr 15 at 0652, RV with island music, S7/S9 stronger than usual, but weaker than 9955 undermodulated WRMI S9/+10 not a problem (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs April 13-14, 2025 |

Tuesday, April 15 2025
** AUSTRALIA [and non]. 28442 USB, April 14 at 2220, VK2CR calling CQ10. QRZ.com: ``VK2CR Australia flag Australia, Peter Richard Thomas, Sydney, Australia, QSL: SORRY I DONT QSL`` - wow, what a rare admission. Also had a ZL? Ross on 28496 USB at 2223. This is a good time of day for 10m DX from both sides of Pacific, see also CHILE; sometimes also Japan. Not much on the beacon sub-band except Belize, and most of North America is too close for F2 skip (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 4985, April 14 at 0515, JBA carrier, implying RBC back on air; a stronger signal on 11815, S9+10, maybe in Portuguese. But 11815 at this time could also be Vatican, Taiwan or ChiCom jamming. Around 0600 checked Brasil remote but nothing on 4985. Also at 1925 into Goiânia SDR, nothing on 4985 or 11815. Check further, anyway. As of Apr 11, Rudolf Grimm reported no 4985 and on Apr 14 no 11815 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHILE. 28470 USB, April 14 at 2222, CA3PHX calling CQ10, CQDX. Have logged before. QRZ.com with lots of equipment photos: ``CA3PHX Chile flag Chile, Mauricio "Mauro" Pacheco, La Florida, Santiago +56984082037, Chile`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ISLE OF MAN. 1368 kHz: see UNIDENTIFIED
** MARTINIQUE. 4811.8, April 14 at 0514, S9+10 open carrier, presumed FUF, as in yesterday`s report. What became of the STANAG 4285 noise? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6959.3 AM, Apr 14 at 0519, pirate music S9/+10. ``The Cosmonaut System``, per these exact same reports until 0550*: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,143514.0.html ending with this from station himself: ``EM transducer test sequence: Successful. All analog during this TX. Full Orbital Equilibrium reached. Greetings from Orbit, Earthbound. beep... beep...beep... Logged. This is The Cosmonaut System, Relay node for the galaxy-wide Information Constellation. Doppler corrected for Earthbound reception`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 7475 AM, Apr 14 at 0520, Josiah intonations JBA at S9+10/20, anti-Christ pirate, Station YHWH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 9500, Apr 14 at 0525, S9+10/20 in French, off at 0528 recheck. It`s RRI at 0500-0527. CNR1 and Algeria could also be on 9500 now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. JBA MW carriers, Apr 14 at 0509-0523 UT, almost all lead to R5, Spain! See UNIDENTIFIED (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500 S9+30, 15520 S9+10/20, 15390 S7/9+10, 17715 S9+30, Mon Apr 14 at 2200, token English from SNR on all four transmitters. The 15s are SSOB direct, vs 15770 WRMI only S9+10, and hardly anything else from Europe. Preview topic about Don Quixote inspiring an American writer about society, civilisation about to collapse. News leads with American Treasury Secretary visit; NYC helicopter company shutting down after disaster killing Spaniard visitors; Mario Vargas Llosa died; Easter/holy week is underway. 2206 report from Beirut correspondent about Apr 13 being the 50th anniversary of start of Lebanon civil war, PLO vs Phalangists, 150K killed. 2210 interview with American author of `Don Bigote`, inspired by Cervantes` `Don Quixote de la Mancha`. Bigote = moustache (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9875.018+, Sun Apr 13 at 2049, VOT S9+20/25 off the back into UTwente, `Pulse of Turkish Foreign Policy`, music; 2101 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, 2106 finally `Letterbox` starts. 1) Francis, Ireland wants QSL, also sent two more reports to German dept. 2) Anatoly Klepov, Moscow. 3) phone call from Ricky Hein, South Dakota reporting 7275 and 11785 with very poor reception on both. 4) Jayanta Chakroborty, India, gets 7275 better than 6165, reverse of aiming. 5) last: Siddartha Para--??, question about theatres in T. `Twelve Angry Men` based on the American novel about a jury, is currently a big hit. Is World Theatre Day March 27 celebrated in Turkey? Yes. 2116 closing with A25 QSY reminder, no details, contact info, 2117 closing song within L`box. There are a handful of `regular` listeners called over & over in L`box. Now I don`t have to get it a sesquihour later on 11785.004+, but quick check confirms it`s not off the air today, S9+45/50 into UTwente at 2211; 2255 recheck IS, 2256 pause, restart IS, and German IDs. 2300 5+1 timesignal, s/on extraneous German. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler; but off by next check 2305 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9770, Apr 14 at 0526, ME music, S9+20/30, the SSOB except for WBCQ 9330. Change to another tune 0529 past 0530. It`s VOT Turkish at 0400-0555, 310 degrees from Emirler for W Europe, and here we are directly beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, Apr 14 at 2159 no signal direct from VOT English, nor on 9875; nor on spot chex later in hour, but did not get around to trying UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: confirmed Sunday April 13 at 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Missed checking Sun Apr 13 at 2130 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975; anyone?
Confirmed Sunday April 13 at 2330 on unlisted WRMI 9455, S9+35/40 into Georgia SDR // much weaker S7/S9 7780 - and again NOT on the listed 7570 which is again in TOMBS. 9455, like 5850, is aimed due NW 315 degrees, so VG here and should be in much of N America. However OTH radar is JBA underneath, and ranges about 9450-9470,
Also confirmed UT Monday April 14 at 0039 the 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 into Georgia SDR, and not on any other WRMIs.
Also confirmed UT Monday April 14 from 0259 on Area 51 webcast, while WBCQ 5130- switches to music postlude to JL after a word or two from me opening.
Also confirmed Monday April 14 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 6160.002-, S9+5/15 into UTwente with RTTYditty ACI de 6164, evitable by narrowing BW below 8 kHz; also slight intermittent CCI under, 2-way. This time 6160 is running a couple words behind 3975; separate playouts? Or SDR delays.
Also confirmed Monday April 14 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.002, S9+10/15, no QRM. Next:
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1830 UT Tuesday IRRS 7290 [? at least April 8]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service program: thanks for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com from Dr Richard Langley, Fredricton NB.
One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15555 USB, Apr 14 at 1521, WJHR with gospel huxter, what else?, peaking S8, the SSOB! Quite an achievement for this underpowered station in FL. Operates daytime only; for several days never hit it on random bandscans, was off? Maybe sporadic-E enhancement now; 15770 WRMI manages only S3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VANUATU. 9960, Apr 14 at 0527, JBA carrier already from R Vanuatu (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. It`s been months since I have logged a bunch of JBA trans-Atlantic MW carriers - mainly due to my horrible local line noise level in Enid. But occasionally I do still perform a 9/kHz bandscan after local sunset, before or near European sunrise, such as on April 14, and was pleased to detect them into the R75, both on the internal N/S shortwire and the E/W loop. Method is tuning 9 kHz steps, in USB, 1 kHz below the channels, producing JBA 1 kHz hets where there be any signal at all. Reference is: https://www.mwlist.org/mwlist_quick_and_easy.php
1503 kHz, April 14 at 0509 UT, first one noticed, and not a major one heard before, either. Besides 1 kW in Trieste and 25 kW in Egypt, too late for that, the ONLY ones left are a 10 kW and a 5 kW RNE Radio 5 Todo Noticias in Andalucía and Galicia!
1413, April 14 at 0510: likely too late for the hugies, 500 kW in Moldova, 800 kW in Oman, Besides tiny UKs from 10 to 500 watts, more RNE Radio 5s, of 25, 12 and 10 kW in Galicia, Cataluña, Andalucía.
1368, April 14 at 0511, never mind Iran, Egypt, Seychelles, leaving Manx Radio Gold, 20 kW in UK from *0445. No Spains listed.
1305, April 14 at 0512, once again, RNE Radio 5, four stations of 25, 10, 10 and 10 kW in Galicia, País Vasco, Castilla-La Mancha; rather than 50 kW in Iran, 10 kW in Egypt, low-powers in UK, Greece.
1125, April 14 at 0523, NOTHING listed except RNE Radio 5, with 12, 10, 10, 10, 10 kW in Castilla y León, Extremadura, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha, País Vasco.
1107, April 14 at 0513, again & again, RNE Radio 5, of 25, 24, 20, 10 and 10 kW in La Rioja, Extremadura, Cantabria, Ponferrada, Aragón, rather than lowpowers in UK, Greece, Italy.
1098, April 14 at 0522, never mind 200 kW in Iran, 100 kW in Sa`udi, low powers in Italy, Holland, leaving only: More RNE Radio 5s, of 25, 25, 10, 10 kW in Andalucía, Galicia, Castilla y León, Andalucía.
I suspect there were some sunrise-skip enhancement as today`s SR in Lugo, Galicia, NW corner of Spain, was 0550 UT. Of the multi-sites applying on each frequency, I bet I was mainly hearing those in the NW, lucking into a sweet spot. I also checked low end of the band, but nothing on frequencies like 684, 774, 855 which used to be easier, with higher-powered synchros. Suspect many of them have been downgraded or even terminated. Of course high-enders would propagate longer than low-enders. Also happened to be very little spring storm noise in North America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs April 12-13, 2025 |
|
Sunday, April 13 2025
** CUBA [and non]. 1040 kHz, April 13 at 0658 UT, wobbler under WHO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15230, April 13 at 1453, JBM music at S5/S7, one of last remaining RHC transmitters, but useless (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EAST TURKISTAN. 15590, April 13 at 1455, CRI English at S7/S9, the SSOB by far, from Urumqi, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MARTINIQUE [and non]. Exactly the same log as on Tuesday March 4 at 0729, here with current S, date and time plugged in:
4811.10, Sun April 13 at 0629, S9+15/20 clean AM open carrier only, instead of the usual STANAG 4285 wideband noise from FUF, Fort-de-France, which Klingenfuß 2022 listed on 4811.8. Default to this? Normally blox Perú 4810, but not even a carrier from that heard for some time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.006+, Apr 12 not checked until 2234, VOT English from 2200 not off the air, S9+30/40 into UTwente amid music; 2238 some feature with an unfamiliar theme, voiced by Efsun the axentuated, so naturally I could not understand the title, but refers to ``rich cultural heritage``. Recheck 2256 already off the air, failing to air German IDs, let alone an extraneous German service from 2300. Something`s not erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 365 MCW kHz, April 13 at 0635 UT, AA, 100-watt NDB ``Kenie`` of Fargo ND, site in MN. Seldom heard. Also with CCI from another seems like 3 letters. RNA list shows others in USA: DPY WA, DYB SC, FT TX, JA MS, JN IN, SYZ IL, TV MI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 385 MCW kHz, April 13 at 0640 UT, HO, 50-watt NDB at HOt Springs AR, seems mixing with else. Axually copied tuned to 383 USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: confirmed Saturday April 12 at 1930 on WRN North America stream; and at 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Confirmed Saturday April 12 starting at 2017.5 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, way late the 1930v, VG into nearby SDR.
Confirmed Saturday April 12 at 2343 the 2330 on IPAR/NEXUS/IBA/IRRS webcast only.
Also confirmed UT Sunday April 13 from 0404 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, the 0315v. ARRL News started late at 0350 so was expecting WOR by 0405.
Also confirmed Sunday April 13 at 1920 the 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.996+, S9 into UTwente. Next:
2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW; 9455 to NW; or 7570? 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1830 UT Tuesday IRRS 7290 [? at least April 8]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING
Doonesbury Censored by CNHI Newspapers
It was censored once each in Jan and Feb, but resumed. Missing again Apr 12-13 from the Enid News & Eagle without explanation, replaced by Pickles, until I searched out this online. The trouble is, even this is behind a paywall:
``In Our Opinion: Decision to pull Doonesbury was not taken lightly Earlier this month CNHI made the decision to permanently remove Doonesbury from our newspaper, as well as from all CNHI-owned publications. In...``
https://www.thedailystar.com/opinion/editorials/in-our-opinion-decision-to-pull-doonesbury-was-not-taken-lightly/article_ca45ba5f-27dd-4ad2-90a5-ad184ecc4454.html
Here`s one place it still appears 4/13:
https://santamariatimes.com/opinion/editorial/sunday-doonesbury/article_846ede22-c8a7-4c0e-bf95-37ae6c1ad9dd.html
Also it`s still here - displaying current strip for 4/13: https://www.washingtonpost.com/doonesbury/ Wikipedia needs some updating. It seems the daily strips are oldies, which we have not been seeing anyway, only the Sunday/weekends newbies.

Later I got reached this from CNHI in justification: In Our Opinion: Decision to pull Doonesbury was not taken lightly Mar 26, 2025 https://www.cnhinews.com/newyork/article_442fa2b3-bc8b-5315-b022-091aa97c91b9.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs April 11-12, 2025 |
|
Saturday, April 12 2025
** BRAZIL. 11780, UT Sat Apr 12 at 0149, RNA with RNB mini-English segment, VG S9/+10 into local SDR. It`s another repeat, pt 1 with the black woman who is an artist and filmmaker on the rôle of cinema and environmental activism in Pará. 0154 switch to same in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NEW ZEALAND [and non]. 13690, Apr 12 at 0610, maybe BBC relay on RNZP, but not // BBC itself on 9410 via ASCENSION (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, Apr 12 at 0612, JBA carrier, presumed Station YHWH, anti-Christ pirate, as nothing else ``scheduled`` now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 94.5 is the FM frequency for movies at the El-Co Drive-in, Shattuck, as in Ellis County. Near the TX panhandle, it`s the only DI in NW OK. Quite a story about it in the Enid News & Eagle April 12. Strangely enough, tho it`s a front-page story, I can`t find it on the website, only photos such as: https://www.enidnews.com/shattuck-drive-in/image_d72f2dc4-a42b-4dbf-92d9-9a4ecb94cd45.html Maybe will show up later, for subscribers only? Showtime is 9:30 pm in the summer CDT = 0230 UT, so if you have a very strong sporadic E opening from this area? Wonder if it`s $ tereo. Nearest full-power 94.5s are: KSKL Scott City KS, 100 kW; KSOC Tipton OK, Spanish 9.4 kW; KFMX Lubbock TX 100 kW; KZMJ Gainesville TX 100 kW (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500, Fri Apr 11 at 2158, SFR not off the air, S9+20/30 direct, nor the others: 15520 S9/+20, 15390 S7/S9, 17715 S9/+10. And 2200 opening token English, 2201 news leads with helo crash in NYC killing family from Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, Apr 11 at 2157, NO signal direct from VOT English; nor at 2225, 2250 into UTwente, nor possible accidentalternate 9875. Something`s erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 4724 USB, Apr 12 at 0619, US military crypto exercise, uncopied, but ``This is New Moon, out``, then repeating, also starting with that tactical ID, as I survey the usual //s, not quite as strong, on 8992 USB, 11175 USB, 15016 USB. Initially there was an echo, but not on the repeat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2290 monitoring: confirmed Friday April 11 at 2203 the 2200 on WRMI 9955, direct seemed deadair, then JBM, QRM from 9930 WTWW splatter, q.v. 2227 into Georgia SDR I can be sure it`s really me with #2290 on 9955, S9+15/20.
Also confirmed UT Friday April 11 before 2230, the 2200 on webcast of World FM, New Zealand.
Also confirmed Friday April 11 at 2230 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.002+, S8/S9 into UTwente. Next:
Sat Apr 12 I happen to awaken sometime between 0930 & 1000, so check for alleged WOR airing on WRMI 9455, as has been on their System D websked for ages: as expected, 9455 is OFF at this hour altho obviously funxional earlier in evenings. WOR was also once reported at this time on 7730 substituting for 9455 after hurricane damage: now a JBA carrier on 7730 is too weak to tell if WOR be on it. 7730 is also a ChiCom jamming/SOH frequency up to 24h.
Also confirmed Saturday April 12 at 1435 on SW Radio, Germany, 6160.001-, S9/+5 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Saturday April 12 at 1600 on WRN N America & Europe streams.
Also confirmed Saturday April 12 at 1730 on SW Radio, Germany, 6160.001+, S8/9+10 into UTwente but with 6164 RTTYditty ACI unless BW <8 kHz, or LSB tuned; and a few words behind on 3975.001+, S8/S9, no QRM.
By 1910 UT Sat April 12 not yet started on WA0RCR unlike last week. Next:
1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM [1900/2100]; 2300 UT Saturday WTWW 9475 [suspended]; 0230vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400]; 1030 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1900 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW; 9455 to NW; or 7570? 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1830 UT Tuesday IRRS 7290 [? at least April 8]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
** U S A. 9810/10015, April 11 at 2205+, approx., range of audibiity of splatter out of 9930 WTWW, peaking circa 9870 at S9+30 vs band noise level of only S9. As before I make sure the TOMBS modulation peaks match 9930 on a second receiver, and NOT matching 9980 WWCR which is also TOMBSing but never synchronized with 9930. In fact the 9930 splat can be heard as close to 9980 as 9985. Also the separate discrete spurs about 9917 & 9943 equidistant from 9930. Waterfall at Georgia SDR shows the smush surrounding 9930 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` chex of WBCQs, Apr 11 at 2349, into NH SDR; 3265 & 5130 OFF. 6160 on with algo S6/S7. 7490 -75 Hz, S9+10 of FKB. 9330 S7/S9 WLCR Portuguese, hollow with backscatter? *2355 5130 -46 Hz = 5120.954 cuts on with IS & ID loop. 2357, now 6160 -72 Hz = 6159.928 has been beefed up to S9/+5 of algo.
UT Sat April 12 at 0000, 7490-, 5130- and 9330 join for ID and `WTO` theme of AAAWWW, initial talkover: ``I`m here, how ya doing, folx? ... Totally unprepared...` Ensues conversation with plenty of angry input by Angela, such as doesn`t like rap crap. Allan refers to a ScAm = Scientific American article equating social media with tobacco as far as dangers to health. 0030 a bit of music. 0036 contact info. 0048 mentions FRW. 0050 a bit more music, and then reading some items from Free Radio Weekly, but it`s *last week`s issue* as I follow along, and he concludes with the Oklahoma station on 670 -- except that was an editorial typo in my report of Virtual DJ Radio correctly on 1670 - as it still is. 0057 some email. Runs past 0100, but 5130 stops at 0101, then a bit of music, while 7490 presumably switches to JIP Hal Turner; and 9330 to English.
That reminds me, whatever became of the other Worlds Last Chance languages? In WRTH 2024 they had some French, German and Spanish, but current sked shows only: 22 hours of English and 2 hours of Portuguese, at 22-24 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9265, Apr 12 at 0608, WINB running late again, YL gospel huxtress referring to ``Yah-wah``, S9/+25 direct. Program sked at winb.com still dated March 9, still with wrong ET/UT conversion of 5 hours instead of 4, still claims it`s off the air after midnight = really 04 UT, not 05. Last time I caught them late was also Sat, Apr 5, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 7656.0, Apr 12 at 0623, S9 open carrier, last logged March 24 at 0639 with wideband clickery, q.v. Maybe now too, but noise level too high to detect them. Among several such mysteries all ending in 6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
