1) Updated UTC offset notations for DST changes for Croatia (HRT),
Germany (HCJB), Greece (ERT), México (R Educación), Romania (RRI),
Spain (REE),

2) Canada - BVB: Link updated to new B-22 schedule (Note PDF filename
is correctly named "Winter", however PDFheading is incorrectly
labelled as B-22 "Summer")

3) Germany - MBR: Updated URL to link to B-22 frequency schedule

4) Nigeria - VON: Added link to second VON Facebook page (thanks to
tip by Glenn Hauser that such a page existed). Also added link to VON
live stream via Radio Garden (although this is temporarily unavailable
to listeners in the UK)

5) Spain - REE: Updated URL to link to B-22 frequency schedule
The next update is scheduled for around 6 November for DST changes in
Americas.

The Cuban Five of RHC are all off, nowhere to broadcast Sunday
Esperanto supposedly scheduled at 0700 but announced all summer as if
0800 on 6100. Esp`o still confirmed at 1507 on 11760 and much weaker
15140. With return to EST next Sunday, as a running dog of Yanqui
Imperialism, should shift to 1600 & imaginary 0800 (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** CUBA [and non]. 13820, Oct 30 at 1522, R. Martí, VG S9+20, no
jamming audible. Totally predictable B22 ex-13605; still jammed on
11860 & 11930. At 1719 check into Maryland SDR, still jamming against

** HAWAII. Re: USA, 5000, Oct 29 at 0548: ``Glenn, the sweep tones at
xx48 would be from WWVH. WWV has them at xx08. Stephen Luce, Houston,

** ITALY [and non]. 1323 & NEXUS-IBA webcast, Oct 29 at 2200 UT,
Feature Story News, 2207 music, not the Dario Monferini tribute. Seems
there were some errors in the IRRS schedule quoted previously. It
showed 22 UT as = 19 CEDT, but there is never a 3 hour difference. Who
knows what time it was really supposed to be? For Sun Oct 30,
supposedly at 17 UT = 18 CET, on 7290, correct conversion but the 7290
span should now be at 19-20 UT only, unless this were a special
booking. I miss checking whether 7290 really on at 17-18. If only
everyone would stick to UT yearound, there could be no confusion.

7290, Sun Oct 30 at 1915, NO IRRS signal into UTwente, just heavy ACI
splash from 7295 CRI English, now scheduled 500 kW due west from
Urumqi, East Turkistan, std denunciation, at 19-21 --- so good times
to avoid adjacent 7290. What does HFCC B22 show for ``Milano``?

** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, Oct 30 at 1500-1530, what`s become of V of
Martyrs Korea service from secret site? Tune-in at 1509, S6/S9 signal
still, but talk by two OM voices sounds tonal like Chinese, not
English or Dhivehi. Not // 9660 in CNR1 check, or was that Taiwan. I
don`t think there was any English closing at 1529 as VOMK used to
provide, tho I was distracted during that minute; and off at 1530, no
longer followed by Vatican in Arabic. Last part monitored via KFS
remote on its NW antenna. Furthermore, no signal on 11825, which used
to be RBAustralia Burmese for comparison at 1500-1530 (Glenn Hauser,

** NEW ZEALAND. 13730, Oct 30 at 0706, JBA carrier from RNZP on new
B22 frequency, ex-9700 which was excellent SSOB for us! IF you believe
own schedule, https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/listen
13730 runs 0659-0858 daily, and 0859-1258 Mon-Fri only and on NW
Pacific antenna, bad for us -- therefore totally OFF THE AIR Sat & Sun
0859-1258! Preceded by 15720 all the way from 2059 except Sat 1959,
until 0658; and followed by 7390 at 1259-1650 daily (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SAO TOME. 13580.067, Oct 30 at 0707, SSOB English sounds like BBC
with news about S Korea crowddeaths. It is now B22 without any such
HFCC scheduling, rather 05-10 USAGM Urdu via Kuwait; Pinheira must
still be on A22! BBC at 07-08 only, 335 degrees; and with typical
offfrequenciness from this site, where something`s always wrong,
reflecting badly on both USA and UK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, Oct 30 at 0705, JBA carrier presumed SIBC.
Still no 5025 Cuba to obscure it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Oct 30 at 1719, no signal direct from REE on B22 NAm
frequency, but new 12030 for ME off the back is S9/+10 at 1506. Into
Maryland SDR at 1717, 9690 is only S5/S7, but 12030 S7/S9, with 11940
for SAm also audible weaker. Not sure yet where the Af beam be, but
surely a poor 4th for us. Sportstalk or stupid ballgame coverage. As
every B-season, 9690 is too low for NAm across full-day path, but
should be good for mostly-night path later such as English M/W/F
2300-2330 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 9830, Oct 29 at 2200, no signal from VOT English
for N America, into UTwente, what should have been the final broadcast
of the A22 season. Not on 5960 either in case they have jumped the gun
to the B22 frequency. Rather, something`s always erroneous at Emirler.
So I check at the B22 hour: 2259 open carrier of S9/+10 on exact
frequency, 2300 time pip and Chinese mentioning Xinjiang. CNR is in
HFCC both A22 and B22 supposedly not starting until *2330 from Urumqi,
East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uighurs
and other Moslems. Once Turkey gets going with English on 5960 at
2300, we can only hope there will be a lot less QRM from that over
here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2162 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
October 29 from 1935 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, S9+18 into
nearby Warrenton KiwiSDR.

Also confirmed UT Sunday October 30 at 0030 on WRMI 7780 reactivated,
S8/S9 into Maryland SDR. Also resumed is a noise burst of about 15
seconds starting at the same time as the WOR playback, axually in two
parts with a break like 10 + 5 seconds. A WRMI defect; believe I heard
same thing marring start of the 0100 program.

Also confirmed UT Sunday October 30 from 0338 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
S9+15/20 into nearby SDR with a few storm crashes. Checking
Blitzortung about 40 minutes later, the only lightning in N America is
a small storm around Mobile AL. Next:

Spanish, S9/+10. Re previous report: ``Glenn, regarding WEWN: I have
noticed that 5970 is again missing from 00-02. Also have noted the

** VANUATU. 11835, Oct 30 at 0706, JBA carrier presumed R. Vanuatu;
third harmonic ain`t what it used to be (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Oct 29 from 1440 tune-in via
Argentine remote, NO signal from LRA36. SDR connexion keeps stalling,
have to reload. Listening to noise for over an hour pays off,
however:

15475.83 LSB!, Oct 29 at 1548 I notice some offside SSB talk QRM while
still tuned to 15475.98 USB, eventually resolved by LSB tuning to this
frequency, Spanish talk about Marambio base, so this is certainly
LRA36 on a new frequency and maybe new/different transmitter! YL host
is chatting with OM guest. I can never get the audio to sound just
right, stepping up and down at 10 Hz intervals; even more so during
music breaks. Initially there was a reduced carrier which should have
made it easier to pinpoint, but then no carrier, pure LSB, S6/S7. 1557
``aquí en Base Esperanza``; 1600 music; 1604.5 standard canned ID for
LRA36 with staff names, ``Nacional, nos une``, a defacto sign-off, and
music for some time but did not notice exactly when it went off, well
before 1624 check; I let it run until 1637, but nothing further (Glenn

** CUBA. 6000, Oct 29 at 0547, only RHC on air now, English S9+20/30
with good mod except for some hum, no others of The Cuban Five on 5/6
MHz bands. Usually 6000 is off before the others. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ITALY [non]. 7290, Sat Oct 29 at 1801, IRRS SW via BULGARIA, no
signal on X2 = 14580; good into UTwente with Feature Story News, 1805
India music bit, then song in English; 1810 start `Country Jamboree`
filler until 1830 cut to gospel music and 1833 gospel huxter. Instead
of the first half of WOR which ran last Saturday at 1814-1830.

Also, Ron Norton of IRRS notifies us: ``the second program in memory
of Dario Monferini, with excepts of the Play DX news program in
English and Italian, as well as fragments of our earlier tests
broadcast from 1988-89, including short segments from Radio Stella
International (Scotland), World Music Radio, Jonathan Marks from Media
Network (Radio Nederland), and more, will be repeated at the following
times [one hour each]:

- On Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 (A22 season):
22:00 UTC (19:00) CET on 1323 kHz MW to Europe (+ streaming)

- On Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022 (B22 season):

interval signal, at 0601 Vernacular, comments. Very strong carrier,
very weak audio. It seems to have transmitter problems. 15321``

Saturday October 29 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, S9+20 into Virginia SDR,
S9+20/30 into Missouri SDR, S8/9+10 into KFS CA on SE antenna, VG
S9+20/30 direct. What about // 15770 instead of 7730? Nothing but
traces at VA, MO, direct; S9+10/25 into KFS.

Also confirmed UT Saturday October 29 at 0400 on WBCQ Radio Angela,
5130 minus 16 Hz = 5129.984, S9/+5 into Maryland SDR.

** U S A. 7780, Oct 29 at 0552, WRMI-13 is finally back on air, as
forecast by end of this week, the last one (almost) to be restored
following Hurricane Ian; rock music at S9/+10 with slight distortion.
I had not yet seen this, which went on FB circa 23 UT Oct 28:

``WRMI Radio Miami International 17h · Dear WRMI Listeners: We just
repaired 7780 kHz today, and it will come on the air at 0000 UTC
tonight (UTC Oct 29). We now have all of our regular frequencies back
on the air except for 7730 kHz. We did put 7730 back on the air on
October 10 at low power, but we have been unable to bring it up on
high power using the current antenna. However, we have transferred all
of the programming which was previously on 7730 kHz to 15770 kHz on
our European beam. We will keep working on 7730, and we may be able to
return that frequency to the air within the next couple of weeks.

We lost three antennas during Hurricane Ian on September 28 – one to
Europe and the Middle East, one to Africa and one to Central America
and Oceania. We have placed one of those frequencies (7780 kHz) on a
different antenna to the same target areas. We replaced 21525 kHz with
17790 kHz to a different target area. And, as mentioned above, we are
still working on 7730 kHz. We are consulting with engineers to see how
the three damaged antennas might be repaired or replaced in the
future.

The gridspan for 7780 at 222 degrees for WNAm - otherwise same azimuth
designated for CAm on silent 5985 - is 0000-1100 only with quite a
mixture, besides disposable TOMBS and SMTV, variety at: 00-01, 03-04,
05-06, 08-09; presumably including WOR UT Fri 0330, Sun & Mon 0030

** U S A. 5129.984, UT Sat Oct 29 at 0230-0259, WBCQ Radio Angela with
weekly `Greek Music Refuge`. UB has Zach Liangas on at first to
briefly introduce the music from a name I don`t catch, as he has
chosen it. Then solid segués for rest of show, enjoyed but noisier
here than would have been on VOG 9420. At end UB offered to ID pieces

** VANUATU. 7260, Oct 29 at 0551, JBA signal from R. Vanuatu (Glenn

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic split JBA MW carrier search, Oct 29 at
0621: 711-Morocco, 774-Spain, 846-TP Kiritimati, 855-2-Spain,
882-Canary or Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, Oct 28 at 0605, JBA carrier: hard to believe it`s RHC,
but nothing else listed at this hour, except in Aoki: SRDA Curitiba,
Brasil. Is it active? Not in EiBi or latest DSWCI DBS as of last
April. Not in WRTH 2022, 2021, either. Same question I raised on July
9, 2021.

6165, Oct 28 at 0605, only RHC left, in English, S9+10/20 but
undermodulated. No Cuba or other broadcasters above 5000 (Glenn

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Oct 28 at 0607, VON is on at S9/+10 but JBM. At
1742, 1826, no signal into Canary SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Friday October 28 at 2200, token English from REE,
sufficient on NAm frequency, S9+20/30 into Virginia SDR. Feature after
news will be part 2 of interview about Salem witchcraft, plus a
Lebanon/Israel agreement, and another spooky movie review. 2206
witchcraft starts but doesn`t really interest me. 2225 the Leb/Isr is
about maritime border agreement for offshore gas exploration, brokered
by US, i.e. each signed with US, not having to deal directly with each
other. 2227.5 final #10 Hallowe`en movie review, did not get Spanish
title, as signal is fading down. 2316 recheck, nothin` but noise on
17855, but SAm`s 11940 is still S9+5/10 into VA; 15520 & 11670 would
have closed after 2300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, W OR)

** TURKEY. From HFCC B22, VOT TRT in English, as expected changes, 1
real UT hour later from Oct 30:

** TURKEY. 9830.021, Oct 28 at 2200 no signal yet into UTwente from
VOT English; must have come on way late but going S9+25/45 at 2230
after I retune from Spain --- but it`s not English, rather Turkish.
2235 machine gun fire, declamations, like a military coup?? Also has
some music background, 2238 martial songs; 2240 more talk and machine
gun fire. At 2243 I notify the WOR iog to tune this in quick! But no
replies. Then mostly songs, no English, cut off at 2255.5 which would
be nominal for end of broadcast. Probably the sloppyrators brought up
the wrong program feed, like a dramatic movie soundtrack. Something`s
very erroneous at Emirler and/or awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 6m DX MAP commonly shows Es MUFs to 70+ MHz, hardly ever
above 88; but that`s plenty for 28 MHz hambeacons to show. I only have
time to copy a few, among others also too close to each other less
than 1 kHz apart, Oct 28 at 2020-2027 UT, first with listings from
WI5V Beacon website, further ID and info from QRZ.com ---

the town of La Grande, Washington on a site owned by Pack Forest of
the University of Washington. 10 meter beacon is on 28230. The beacon
will have emergency power May 2013. Both wind and solar power feed the
batteries at W7PFR (Pack Forest Repeater)``

``My 10 Meter Propogation Beacon at Rose Lake transmits on 28.2165 MHz
at 5 watts. It's pretty much always on with a couple of deep cycle
batteries for power. The transmitter is an old Realistic HTX-100. The
antenna is an A-99 vertical. The keyer is an ID-O-Matic by N0XAS. The
receiver in the HTX-100 smoked, literally, years ago but the
transmitter just keeps on going. I have a small fan in back of the
radio to keep things a little cool. For me part of the fun of having
the beacon is playing with antennas. So far it's had a loop, dipole,
and verticals 8', 17', 31' and 120' long.``

Fri Oct 28 at 0330 on 7780 still not restored, nor 9455.

Confirmed Friday October 28 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, VP S7/S9 direct, and
off after 1500.

Also confirmed Friday October 28 from 1815.3 on IRRS via Bulgaria 7290
and AM Italia 1323. Into UTwente, S9+5, nothing audible on X2 = 14580.
Into nearby Noale SDR, 1323 with heavy CCI from Romania`s minority
German service: e.g. 1823 WOR is atop, 1828 about equal, 1831 WOR
abottom, 1843 WOR JBA way under.

Monitoring same earlier and later: 1323 from 1756 tune-in classical
music from Rom way atop; nothing ever on 918 or 207 kHz. 1801 IRRS
``sign-on`` by when 7290 is also on so I mainly listen there: Feature
Story News & Spotlite; 1806 song fill; 1812 open `Counterspin` with
Jennine Jaxon [sps?], one current news item being explosions on
pipeline off Poland: that`s really olds, happened on Sept 26. 1815
chop off for IRRS ID and then WOR.

After: 1844 music and IRRS ID, 1845 more music; 1847 open `Shortwave
Report` with Dan Roberts in CA; same old stations recorded this week:
DW, F24, RHC, NHKWR. DW is about Truss resigning, which of course is
impossible on SW in English. 1855, France 24 of course does not even

with classical: can`t imagine a commercial station in US or Canada,
nor can NRC AM Log. IRCA Mexican log shows max 3 stations, not. Cuba?
Two stations in WRTH not on CMBF network. Central America? Guatemala
has a religious one. Nothing else in CAm, Caribbean or S America
with an overtly cultural or classical name, but exact formats
difficult to divine. Ideas? Possibly something completely different
defaulting to such fill during loss of network signal; or an equipment
test. This makes a SAH of 164/minute against some other = 2.7 Hz.
MWOffsets shows KUBR San Juan TX in the RGV on 1210.0027! But it`s
