Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Wed Oct 19, tune-in via Argentine
remote at 1500 when LRA36 is already on with music prélude; 1503 usual
sign-on routine; 1503 themesong; 1507 recitation and song; 1512 ID
with ``nos une``, and finally live YLs, with program #26 of the
Esperanza Audaz season; staff names; it`s ``muy ventoso`` on this 19th
of October; temp minus 1 C, with a low of -10, snow, winds 93? kph,
partly cloudy; 1517 phone numbers and all other contact info; 1518
song; 1520 ID; 1521 This Week in History starting with Oct 17.
*Tomorrow* will be special program for the anniversary of LRA36, no
time heard but presumably also circa 15 UT Thu Oct 20. 1524 song; 1527
ID ``Radio Arcángel San Gabriel`` omitting ``Nacional``, ending with
``su compañía``. Then about Brown Base, from 1949/50, now named for
Almirante Brown, changed name in 1990. Seldom says anything about that
base, but see Wikipedia:

``Brown Station (Spanish: Estación Científica Almirante Brown, or more
often Base Brown or Estación Brown) is an Argentine Antarctic base and
scientific research station named after Admiral William Brown, the
father of the Argentine Navy. It is located on Sanavirón Peninsula
along Paradise Harbor, Danco Coast, in Graham Land, Antarctic
Peninsula. As of 2014 Brown is one of 13 research bases in Antarctica
operated by Argentina.[2] From 1951 to 1984 it served as a permanent
base; since then it is open during the summer season only.[3]``

More chat I don`t follow much past 1540 with music background, 1545 ID
with frequencies, ``Nacional, la Radio Pública``. 1555 again plug
birthday broadcast mañana; 1600 song; 1603 ID with staff again,
``Nacional, nos une``. 1605.5 dead air, off? Not quite, 1606 a bit
more music, then gone, no more heard past 1641. Was good signal,
modulation peaking S9.

PS: Here are details on the B-day special via the AER ForoDX list:
``Mañana Especial de LRA36 RADIO NACIONAL ARCÁNGEL SAN GABRIEL por su
43 aniversario de 1430 a 1630 UTC 15476 USB. Fonte: Adrián Korol
(Diretor da Rádio Nacional da Argentina e RAE Argentina ao Mundo) vía
Antonio Avelino, del DXCSF -- Pedro Sedano, Madrid, España``

And Gary Pence, TX, who would rather DX it via N American remotes than
hear it clearly via S America, reports: ``It`s on, 1454z in song. When
listening to LU4AA SDR, has a noise floor of -104 dbm and their signal
was in the beginning S7, S8 or -92 to -82 dbm. When using the KFS SE
SDR Array at Half Moon Bay, CA, has a higher noise floor of S5 or
-97,-98 dbm and LRA36 was barely audible but signal never built up. I
tried the quieter omni antenna at KFS, which was -104 dbm but it
doesn't have the gain of the SE Array. So for right now LRA36 remains
fairly elusive to the USA KIWISDRs, but we will keep trying.
73, Gary`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, 5040, 6000, Oct 19 at 0417, all these Rebelde/RHC
frequencies are off. 6060 & 6165 English on. Something`s always wrong
at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ETHIOPIA [and non]. 11560-11580, Oct 19 at 0406, sounds like DRM
noise but too wideband; amid at 11570 a weak carrier. EiBi explains:
``11570 0400-0500 ETH Dimtse Woyane TIG EAf /F-i = Issoudun site
11570 0400-0500 ETH Noise Jammer EAf`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI [and non]. 846 kHz, Oct 19 at 0613, JBA carrier from R.
Kiribati; only other 9/kHz splits: 855 and 1116, both likely Spain
synchros tho 1116 max power only 5 kW; 855, 50 kW. Note: there is a
lot more 10/kHz splash above 1200, so harder to detect any splits.

But Gary Pence reports; maybe was intermittent: ``846 khz Kiritimati
off No jba in Oahu. I almost forgot but I checked 846 at sunset and
around 0630z from Oahu SDR and I believe they were off last night.
Gary`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 9700, Wed Oct 19 at 0632, RNZP starting `Digital
Planet` with some interesting topix, qualifying as a Media program; as
usual, 9700 this hour is the SSOB, S9+20. Guess what: it`s really a
BBC programmme, and not even mentioned on the RNZ Pacific sked, only
as a RNZ National relay this hour:
https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/nights

``7:06 PM. Nights with Karyn Hay --- RNZ's weeknight programme of
entertainment and information; 10:00 PM. News at Ten``
but including, at least this week:
``7:30 [sic] Digital Planet --- It's estimated that 5.3 billion mobile
phones will become waste this year. Despite being packed with precious
metals like gold, silver and palladium and other recyclable parts most
will not be disposed of properly.

This mountain of e-waste (that if piled on top of each other would
reach 120 times higher than the International Space Station) is only
part of e-waste problem with other small consumer electronics such as
remotes, headphones and clocks.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PANAMA [non]. 9955, Tue Oct 18 at 2228, tuning in WRMI early via
Maryland remote for WOR at 2230, tail end of `Antena DX` in Spanish,
or rather Portunhol, with DX report voiced by someone from DX Clube
Sem Fronteiras, with Portuguese hours of WLCR/WBCQ 9330, outdated?
Antena DX is produced monthly but allegedly aired weekly. This is
still the Sept edition as found later on their website, no October
yet. http://programasdx.com/antenadx.htm

Víctor Gutiérrez produces it:
ANTENA DX | La Chispa Estereo
Escuchar en SoundCloud
HORARIOS Y FRECUENCIAS
Lunes 7.780 KHz 00:00 UTC (domingo en América)
Lunes 5.985 KHz 04:30 UTC (domingo en América)
Martes 9.955 KHz 22:00 UTC
https://www.facebook.com/LaChispaEstereo/

Of course, 7780 has been off since Ian; 5985 was dropped months before
that. Another version shows 9455 at that time. Aoki shows some other
times: 0030 Day 4 = Wed, on 7490 = WBCQ, but not on WBCQ`s own sked at
any time; Wed 1300 on 9955 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed Oct 19 at 2200, token English to NAm from REE is
VP, unusable direct on this, let alone the other three frequencies,
15520, 11940, 11670. I`m not on computer to try for it via Maryland
remote, the usual workaround. B22 QSY to 9690 at 2300 M/W/F cannot
come soon enough (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.002, Oct 19 at *2158, JBA carrier cuts on as at first
I am monitoring only on the DX-398 direct with shortwire clipon, so
presumed VOT trying to start English, but useless to deep North
America. I detect it only with BFO slightly offtuned LSB, avoiding the
RTTY on USB. By 2247 I check it via UTwente which provides the typical
+2 Hz offset, but even there it`s so weak it could have been
underChina instead. Reads S7/S9 max but hardly readable as may also be
undermodulated. At 2248 I can tell it is really VOT, YL in English.
Occasionally surges to brief readability, signal and/or modulation.
2253 sign-off and into IS; 2258 German ID, 2300 timesignal, and still
on air but unreadable at 2323, not a good prop day for such a bonus,
even unto Europe. Seems to cut off at 2327*. We expect B22 to make
usual switch to 5960 and both one real UT hour later; which can`t come
soon enough. It would then again be subject to collision with The
Mighty KBC should extra German surpass 0000 on a UT Sunday (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2160 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening

Dear Glenn: World of Radio, monitoring and confirming the latest for

Confirmed Tuesday October 18 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+15 into
Maryland SDR, well-atop Cuban pulse jamming.

Also confirmed Tuesday October 18 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+8/12 into
Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday October 19 at 2128 on WBCQ 7489.9v, JBA
direct but I can recognize my last item about Vietnam on 1071. Signal
picked up slightly from 2100 when nothing could be copied. Next:

these WRMI frequencies are OFF, including some that had been restored
post-Ian, leaving nothing but the 9s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17790, October 19 circa 1830, WRMI on NF ex-21525 with
Panam`s ``Radio Africa`` service of gospel huxters in English, S9+10,
much better than 13m usually was but could still be affected by
sporadic E. Remains to be heard what be `normal` for this to here. It
is almost at right angle from correct Africa ex-azimuth of 81, i.e.
160 degrees really for S America, considerably missing Africa, but
maybe some signal get in there. However at 1939 recheck it`s off; 2046
recheck, back on. Sked is 15-21 UT; a stopgap measure until/unless the
Af antenna can be repaired.

Latest update on FB circa 22 UT Oct 19:
``WRMI Radio Miami International 1h · Here's the hurricane restoration
report for today (October 19) from WRMI. Our crew was completing work
on the transmission lines for 5850 kHz, when suddenly the transmission
fluid sprung a leak on one of our trucks, and it spilled onto the
catalytic converter causing the truck to catch on fire. Fortunately
our engineers were able to put out the fire quickly, so we hope there
is not much damage.

We used another truck to finish the transmission line work on 5850.
Then when we tried to turn on the transmitter, a compressor blew up on
a fan motor in the rear of the transmitter. (How many things can go
wrong in one day?) So tomorrow morning they will remove the blower and
replace it with another, which we understand is a fair amount of work.
But we will try to finish this tomorrow and put 5850 kHz on the air --
finally! Wish us luck tomorrow.

In the photo below, WRMI Facility Manager Pat Travers is finishing up
the transmission line work on 5850 kHz. Here's where you really need
to know what you're doing!`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3 CW, Oct 19 at 0622 UT, single-letter beacon A
every dekasecond, anywhere but Quartzsite AZ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 90.1 FM, Oct 19 at 2010 UT, on caradio in Enid, KUCO FM
has CCI from another classical station in fall fundraising, mentions
whether or not to broadcast the Clinton Symphony Orchestra. Normally
such all-too-common QRM would be from KHCC Radio Kansas, Hutchinson,
but why would they mention such an orch? That brings to mind Clinton,
IOWA, where research shows there is one in that town on the
Mississippi, ergo, WOI-FM Ames IA? Outside its main coverage area but
IPR do have a ``Symphonies of Iowa`` program on Sunday afternoons.
However, I have not been able to correlate that with Clinton.

Strangely, the only 90.1 hit for Iowa in the WTFDA FM DB is for
WOI-FM, but with news/talk format on HD. What about classical format?
That is on the HD2 of 90.1 per this confusing map and attempt to
explain it all:

I don`t have any HD receiver for FM; or AM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 258 MCW kHz, Oct 18 at 0634 UT, dash and ZSJ, 1000-watt ND

hefty 1 kW, I seldom bother to relog: 248, WG WinnipeG; and 332, QT
Thunder Bay, mixing with IC wIChita KS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9439.995, Oct 18 at 2205, R. Cairo S9 but just barely
distorted modulated with hum, into Spain SDR. Something`s always
egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI [and non]. 846 kHz, Oct 18 at 0627, JBA carrier from R.
Kiribati. Gary Pence advised me earlier it was on tonight with a
screenshot from the Oahu SDR of a tiny trace on 846 already at 0412
UT. Now, I also have neighboring 9/kHz JBA carriers on 837 and two
beating on 855, likely Canarias/Spain; As for Oct 17, 16: ``Hi Glenn -
Yes, 846 was heard Oct 17 (Monday), from 0603+ UT. Clearly was silent
yesterday (Sunday). Ron (California)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Oct 18 at 0635, no signal direct from VON. Also no
signal at 1740 into Spain SDR while Canary SDR is too busy, nor the
latter when it connects after 1800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.003, Oct 18 at 2207, VOT is on in English, S9+50 into
UTwente, undermodulated but otherwise sufficient. Something`s always
erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2160 monitoring: NOT confirmed UT
Tuesday October 18 at 0030 on WRMI 9395: instead, after an ID,
switched to SMTV! Which per skedgrid during this hour is supposed to
be on 5800, but something else not // there; and normally always QSYs
at hourtop not bottom. Jeff White explains that the automation
sometimes goes haywire changing System inputs when it`s not supposed
to, so this was a mistake and hopefully will not rehappen. Anyhow, was
S9/+20, nor was WOR to be found on any other active WRMI frequency.

** U S A. WRMI update on FB circa 21 UT Oct 18: ``Another transmitter
and frequency is back on the air as of 1940 UTC today. We are
replacing 21525 with the new frequency of 17790 kHz. The programming
of the Radio Africa Network will be airing on this frequency daily
from 1500-2100 UT. We are using a different azimuth of 160 degrees for
this one, due to the damaged 87-degree antennas that were used before.
Tomorrow we will attempt to get another frequency on the air. We still
have 5850, 7570 and 7780 kHz to go. Thanks very much for the
tremendous listener support we have received.`` -- 17790 not checked
here yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1140 kHz, Oct 18 at 0620 UT, open carrier again, not as
obvious as last night, but suppressing `C2CAM` from presumed WRVA VA,
altho one other 1140 is on that, Palm Springs CA, never heard. This
time I do DF the OC on the DX-398 and indeed it is E/W, so KLTK, 5 kW
ND, Centerton AR daytimer is even more likely source. On the R75 with
E/W longwire, the OC is more prominent. Nulling it on DX-398, weak
Spanish, unsure if XEMR. BTW, KLTK is also Spanish if ever modulated.
Also noted the OC much earlier in evening, so KLTK presumably does not
turn off carrier at LSS. I want to check the official FCC SS/SR times
for KLTK, but AM Query errors out when trying to get to
https://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/amq?list=0&facid=33073
Are others having this problem?

The first page before that shows KLTK as licensed to La Zeta 957 Inc.;
but NRC AM Log shows it`s // K260CS, 99.9, ``Radio Las Américas
1140``. That implies some relation to 1120, KETU Catoosa/Tulsa OK,
which FCC has licensed to Radio Las Americas Arkansas, LLC; but NRC AM
Log for KETU says it`s ``La Que-Tu, 1120, La Diferente`` -- I also
have had that daytimer sometimes modulating at night, QRMing KMOX.
Judging from commercials, Las Américas is at root a grandiose grocery
store (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Oct 17 at 0402, R. Rebelde is off. 5040 is in
undermodulated Spanish with big hum, // better 11760 so presumably RHC
programming. However, at 0639, 5040 music is the only Cuban signal on
5 or 6 MHz, but 11760 is still on //. 11760 normally is off by 03* per
Aoki, 02* per EiBi. Due to recent mixups, without an ID, one cannot
assume programming now is not Rebelde instead. Ron Howard reports
later: ``Oct 16 - I found 5025 was silent from 0823+ UT (past 1035+),
but Radio Rebelde was in fact still being heard on 5040,
past 1035+``. Still no 5025 signal here at 2311 check Oct 17 (Glenn

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Oct 17 at 0635, no JBA carrier direct from R.
Kiribati, this Monday. But without remote chex, cannot be positive

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2160 monitoring: Confirmed Sunday
October 16 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S9/+20
with a SAH and lite musical underference into nearby Noale SDR. If not
a 500 or 20-watt UK station, per WRTH 22, Tanzania would not be on at
this hour and when on would only be CRI relay! but 50 kW Iran in Azeri
runs to 2030*; if not a spoiler from China. WRTH 22 on page 544, MW
frequency lists, shows 200, 600 and 500 kW stations on 1323 and a
bunch of 10 kW. Sorting everything out is quite a task, likewise at
PAL, but the Big Three CRI relays on 1323 are on page 56 (of 408),
including one for Russian from East Turkistan most likely to be a
problem in Europe, but not on the air 1500*-*1100. Once again, we
would be much better off on 918 instead of 1323 as 918 is a virtually
clear frequency.

Also confirmed UT Monday October 17 at 0030 on WRMI 5950, S9+28 into
Athens GA SDR; original 7780 still not restored.

Also confirmed UT Monday October 17 at 0300 on WBCQ Area 51, 6160

UNIDENTIFIED. 1140, Oct 17 at 0658 UT, steady big S9+10 open carrier
dominates, vs something weaker making fast SAH, continues past hourtop
0700+. More of a signal than we get from our nearest in daytime, 1 kW
daytimer KRMP OKC. Too late for me to switch from the E/W longwire on
R75 to the DX-398 where I might have DFed it. No modulator really owns
1140 here at night: is 50 kW XEMR Monterrey NL, still active, 24h?
Supposedly direxional SW at night per 2013y NRC Pattern Book, but not
mentioned as direxional in current IRCA Mexican Log -- the word
appears only about 15 times in entire list, some noted as not
directional despite official info. WRVA VA pattern unfavorable tho has
been heard. KXRB Sioux Falls SD U2 10/5 kW but only if on ND day
pattern rather than NNW direxional at night. Second-closest, KLTK in
NW Arkansas might do it, 5 kW ND daytimer. Checking circa 1925 UT,
KRMP is weak but with a fast SAH, likely KLTK if not TX or MO. Must
check again late night and DF if possible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

compared to // 15140, but which at 1458 at S9 the latter is JBM. By
1503, 15140 is S9+10 and suptorted with weekly Esperanto, louder than
// 11760, S9+10, also suptorted with hum, plus another audio
undermixing, probably mainstream Spanish. 13700 stays on at 1504 with
unscheduled Esperanto, and still not off at 1518, now S9 into Maryland
SDR. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY. 15205.011, Oct 16 at 1432, gospel huxter in English with
flutter, slightly off-frequency, gone at 1457 recheck, what? Panam`s
Frank & Ernest, what luck, on air only a quarter-hour per week, Sun
1430-1445 per EiBi & Aoki, via Nauen toward S Asia (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** JAPAN. 11825, Oct 16 at 0656, Japanese about Tokyo, S4/S6, instead
of 11815 with a presumed weak Brasil. Yes, NHK A22 scheduled 11825 at
0655-0800; 11815 at 0955-1400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Oct 16 at 0648, no signal direct from VON. At 1721
& 1847, no signal into Canary SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2160 monitoring: new skedgrid of
WRMI dated Oct 15 shows no changes in WOR times, including imaginary
Saturday 1930 on 15770. Aside from post-Ian temp changes, there could
also be unknown other times which are not imaginary. If you happen to
run across such a WOR airing, do let me know! Next:

** U S A. 7730, Oct 16 at 0646, WRMI-1, best yet of this since
reactivation, S6/S8 direct but dead air or maybe just barely
modulated. I wonder what its true power and azimuth, antenna type be
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5010, Oct 16 at 0652, surprised this WRMI-14 is still on,
S9+10 now with TOM, BS with a caller mentioning listening on 5085 -
which would have been WTWW many years ago. But WRMI skedgrid has now
been updated October 15 showing 5010 at 22-14 daily + TOMBS to 16
Saturdays. 5800 is now off, as sked 22-04 only. 5850 still not
restored at all (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. 15770, Oct 16 at 0655, JBA carrier, so along with
15230 JBA carrier, the OSOBs and SSOBs. Jeff said 15770 would be
running 24 hours; but can hardly expect it to propagate in the
nightmiddle. Yes, new sked shows WRMI-10 on 15770 for 24 hours, partly
// 7730, both allegedly on 44 degrees toward Europe. So have one or
two such antennas been restored despite initial conclusion it was
irreparable? 15230 at this hour presumably CRI Xianyang site, not RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Oct 16 at 0648, S6/S8 of ``island music`` from RV.
Tuning to 11835 at 0659.4 it`s just come on, S6/S8 of music; and 7890
JBA carrier, the harmonix of 3945 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

heard as usual. Maurits Van Driessche ON3MK 73, Hard-Core-DX mailing

but I will also respond with an email promptly. It's more fun to
receive QSL Cards in the regular mail.

I have been interested in radio since I was 12 years old. Like many, I
started out on CB radio but got bored of that scene quickly. I then
discovered cars, girls, work, etc. and got side-tracked. Finally,
getting licensed at the age of 36 I rekindled my interest in radio and
have been playing with it ever since. Thanks again for tuning in to

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2160 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
October 15 at 1615 the 1600 on WRN N America webcast. Missed checking
the 1930 airing, likewise circa on WA0RCR, 1860 AM. Did anyone hear
it? Also missed reconfirming WOR is still no airing at that time on
WRMI 15770, which is now back on the air. Fortunately? I got a QSL
request out of the blue from a Netherlander with a clip at that time
of a gospel huxter, who he thought was WOR, as on the sked!
Another WRN NAm webcast confirmed at 0130 UT Sunday October 16.

At 0030 UT Sun Oct 16, 7780 is still silent when WOR is scheduled.
Just in case, I check all active WRMI frequencies, but noWOR. Of
course that`s amid the trihour of TRSW on 5950 UT Sundays, but when
WOR has been newly scheduled UT Mondays.

Also confirmed UT Sunday October 16 from 0324 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO,
S9+20 into nearby SDR, but with huge storm noise; lightning is not
right over St Louis area, but nearest in SE Kansas, N Arkansas, across
central OK to NM and AZ. This caused our NBC station, KFOR, to blow
away almost all of SNL except for the opening skit and goodbye!

Re Purple Power on World of Radio #2160: ``Thanks for the tip for
cleaning the stickiness from the surface of Eton radios. I have a few
of them and, with the exception of the Satellit 750, the rest of them
all have that problem. One year I left my G8 in Florida over the
summer. When I got back here it felt like it had been dipped in maple
syrup. I'll be going out tomorrow to look for Purple Power. Best
Regards & 73s, Doug Brown, Ont.``

I have no personal familiarity with, just quoting someone. Before
purchase, I recommend googling and noting the caveats about it. Seems
you`ve got to purchase at least a gallon of it, $ 7 at Walmart. That
would clean off an awful lot of Etóns. Maybe you can find some other
stuff needing degreasing. Glenn --- Next:

** U S A. WRMI update from their FB circa 0000 UT October 16:
``We have extended the schedule on 15770 kHz to 24 hours per day until
further notice. Today our Facility Manager Pat Travers repaired more
transmission lines, and we might have 21525 kHz back on the air on
Monday if all goes well. We will then continue to work on 7570, 5850
and 7780 kHz, as well as improving 7730 kHz. Thanks for all of your
encouraging messages and support`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A. Intrigued by the motto? still atop the KBDT 1160 website,
``Snot Rocket Cock Socket Hot Pocket`` -- is it slightly naughty? I
try a broad Google search on that, but except for a few spurious, get
nothing but scads of hits back to saigondallasradio.com -- nothing DX
related, not even my own logs which have been on the web for several
days now.

Among all those useless hits, I do see that R. Saigon Dallas used to
pertain to 1600 kHz, i.e., KRVA, which would overcome OK reception of
KUSHing around sunset. But the current KBDT website shows nothing
about 1600 or KRVA. It does say in English that new home is on 1160. I
try a couple of Dallas-area SDRs at 2346 UT October 15: one of them
gets nothing but noise on both frequencies, the other weak SE Asian
songs on 1600, not 1160.

At 0000 UT August 16 I listen direct and do not hear anything Asian on
either frequency. What does the very slow-loading FCC AM Query say?
KRVA 1600 owned by LRAD Media LLC, but it errors out beyond that.
Radio-locator agrees about KRVA, while KBDT is licensed to Dallas
Broadcasting, LLC. But FCC finally attributes KBDT to Pacific Star
Media LLC. I was wanting to check the official FCC SS/SR times for
both, which supposedly cut to much lower and direxional power at
night. At least for KBDT: October, 0000/1230 UT; November, 2330/1300
UT. Could be 15 minutes difference at KRVA site.

As for the motto, maybe a joke of their website designer? No credit
for any on homepage. Perhaps someone in The Metroplex DFW market can
explain more, such as what has become of 1600? Here`s a thread about
it; finally someone thought 1600 may have become S Asian:

UNIDENTIFIED. 26200-26380 approx., Oct 15 at 2125, CODAR swirshing,
unusual? to hear on 11m, but sporadic E provides it. Other than
visiting one on a coast, is there any way to locate these by frequency
range, pulse rates, waterfall patterns, hours, or whatever? Presumably
they are licensed by government, maybe even with callsigns (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
