Kiritimati is missing even tho it`s Wednesday, not Sunday. Gary Pence

great place to check since Kiritimati is 1353 miles almost due south,

In total, not in the order tuned; (2) indicates at least two carriers
beating; (3) at least three: 531, 558, 621, 639, 684, 693-, 729(2),
774(3), 847, 855(2), 1044, 1098(2), 1107, 1116, 1305; 1710 = NAm
pirate? Method is 9 kHz steps in USB at 1 kHz below the channels.

These are likely from Spain/Algeria/Morocco; even when some of the
Spaniards are lower powered than biggies insolated further east. 693
is perceptibly low, judging from pitch tuned to 692 USB. MWOffsets

this is a ``directed net`, i.e., follow the orders of the NCS. Reads
latest warnings from National Hurricane Center in Miami: seemingly
repeating every few minutes, or maybe with slight updating. Too much
else is going on Sunday afternoons for me to render this my undivided
attention. Periodically calls for anyone from PR or vicinity to check
in but never heard any. Is that a positive or negative result? Glad
SDR has squelch, never needed for broadcast monitoring. 2205, partial

checks between 12 and 14 UT September 16, and it appears they are on
5970 continuously during that time span. Carrier cut at 1356; quickly
retuned to 12050 and found the IS already going. Nothing from WEWN on
5970 at a check just before 1100. I have not been hearing WEWN on 5970
during checks around 0300. I did hear them signing on at 0000 a couple
of weeks ago; might be worth checking 5970 during the 00 to 03 time
span to see if they have kept some of the evening schedule on SW.

In the continuing absence of RV, note that a fundamental long
registered in HFCC but unused, is 2485, 10 kW at 10-19 UT. Some very
interesting possible harmonix of that, worth checking even before
1000: 4970, 7455, 9940, 12425, 14910, 17395 ...

Ron Howard reported: ``VANUATU[non-log]. 8620+, Radio Vanuatu,
checking 0830+ UT, no signal heard on any of the past or current
frequencies! We can only hope that they are working now on repairing
the xmtr! Yesterday (16th) I did some extensive scanning of various
frequencies after 0940+, when I found they were off the air, thinking
perhaps they had jumped to another frequency, but did not find them!``

Sundays at 0800 & 0830 UT. Since IRR is originally several hours later
on Sundays, its initial UR airing would have to wait until Wed at
1130. Since WOR is originally on Thu, the Wed 1100 on UR would be
almost a week old. And: ``Streaming on low bitrate AAC+ for a bit till
I sort out a better internet connection and also the shortwave

Nothing about this on disgraced FB. Ops normal otherwise, at 1849
confirmed on into Maryland SDR: 9955, 9455, 9395, and JBA carrier on

** VANUATU. 7932 & 8620 & 7890, Sept 17 at 0644, NO R. Vanuatu on
previously or recently employed second harmonix. Gary Pence agrees,
after Ron Howard found 8620+ disappeared during Sept 16. But now we
need to do exhaustive continuous band searches before and after 0700
in case it have jumped to a totally new constellation (Glenn Hauser,

UNIDENTIFIED. 9700, Sept 16 at 2350, S9+20/30 of open carrier/dead
air; something warming up for *0000? Nothing sked then per Aoki but
RRI Spanish from Tsiganeshti is supposed to be here until 2357*. And
would you believe RHC English at 0100-0700 on 9700? Aoki and EiBi both
do! Never seen reported lately but will have to check for it (Glenn
