** CHINA [non?]. 15555, May 13 at 2305, JBA AM with talk, music. Aoki shows besides WJHR USB until 2200, the only other 15555s are CNR1 jamming and RFA Chinese via SAIPAN, this hour only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6165, May 13 at 0616, RHC English here only, no other frequencies found on in 5, 6, 9, 11 or 13 MHz bands. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, May 13 at 2303, RHC English S9/+10 but just barely modulated. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GREECE [and non]. 9420.002, Fri May 13 at 1625, ERT with great Greek music and announcements, VG S9+25/35 into UTwente. If China is on too, totally overridden. But chopped off air abruptly at 1655* uncovering CNR and something else making a medium SAH. This is also playing a nice song which could be mistaken for Greek. Only scheduled now until 1805 is CNR13 in Uighur via Lingshi 725 site, which is between Beijing and Xi`an. On its curtailed 1230-1700v UT schedule weekdays only, we can no longer hear VOG well direct in our evenings. Is on borrowed? time until another possible termination at Mayend (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, May 13 at 1529, V of Martyrs Korea, Maldives service in Dhivehi, runs a bit late so s/off in English not until 1530.0, overlapping Vatican in Arabic until about 1530.4. Into S India SDR, was S9+10/20 from secret site, then VR weaker at S7/S9 and noisy. ``Dhivehi is an Indo-Aryan language derived from the Sinhalese language of Sri Lanka. Despite the countries' close proximity to one another, Maldivians and Sri Lankans do not always understand each other.`` - Wikipedia? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 13 at 0500-0507, UR1 via WRMI, immediately into `Ukraine: Security Issue` in English with the well-spoken YL -- but marred by too much Ukrainian clips to voice over, or at times, under. VG into Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed Friday May 13 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, S9 with deep fades to S3 direct, no jamming audible. NOT confirmed Friday May 13 at 1815 on IRRS 7290, nor AM Italia 1323. Tuned in earlier at 1754, no signal on 7290 from Bulgaria into UTwente, and instead of *1800.9, it never came on! 1323 tuned in at 1806 just as synthyl ID in English as on 207, 918 and 1323 kHz - more info from info@am-italia.it and ``Have a good listening``. Then music fill, no Feature Story News or UN News as usual. Guess what, it is not on 207 or 918 now either into nearby Noale SDR, only 1323. But no WOR here either at 1815.5. Same canned ID repeated amid music loops at 1817, 1828, 1840. This operation is *so* uncoördinated. Next airing of WOR 2138 however succeeds, on 1323 checked at 2056 and presumably from 2030, S9+13 steady, still no 918 or 207. I also check 1323 into UTwente where it`s JBA with CCI. Next: 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0400 UT Saturday WBCQ 4790 to WSW 0700 UT Saturday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1930 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1324vUT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still May 8] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, by MO check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Re 9455, WRMI: ``Glenn, the WRMI spurspikes below 9455 have been going on for at least a couple of weeks. I can hear them well up to 150 kHz below fundamental when reception is good. One night they pretty much ruined otherwise decent reception of BBCWS via SMG at 0500 on 9410. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 13 at 1910-1920+ UT on caradio, dead air from KLEY Wellington KS. Had been holding up whenever occasionally checked since resuming mod Feb 20 after a long DA spell. 250 watt daytime, 1 watt, sure, nighttime. Need to check whether it again be on at night vs 50 kW KWKH, DA or not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0113 UT May 14

** CAYMAN ISLANDS. Re ZF2RX: ``Hi, I saw your comment about my QRZ page, and the fact that it was empty. I will fill it in soon. I only got the call for the ARRL DX SSB contest, and haven’t had time to do a page. I am operating from the station of ZF9CW, located on Cayman Brac. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I am more than happy to answer anything you’d like to know. Bray KC1KUG/ZF2RX, Sent from my iPhone`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NEW ZEALAND. 11725, Thu May 12 at 0624, no signal from RNZP where it normally inbooms, checked after first finding a big S7/9+10 open carrier on 13840, which is an earlier NZ channel. Maybe disrupted for maintenance day. By 0705 recheck, 11725 is on and 13840 is off. I was about to doze and checking my scribbles later, I wrote 13740 at 0624 but took it as NZ. If it were really 13740, might have been another Cuban anomaly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 21, May 12 at 1453 UT, tropo check of DTV finds lots of BAD signals into STB, but here is decoding 40-3 MeTV-RR in the PSIP. Not sure of last two letters in font, could be AA or some combo of squared-off letters. Lacking W9WI.com listings any more, I have to go to rabbitears.info network roster for MeTV, and scroll down hovering over each market until finally hit a match at #94 Fort Smith AR KHBS. Yes, that fits nicely with the tropo area, and is not too far away. Guess what: it`s in Oklahoma, as the FCC coverage map shows the circle centred considerably SW of FS near Poteau, OK, altho the exact location is not pinpointed; however its longitude is 94:40+ west, while the city of FS, right on the border, is only 94:24. I would not be surprised if there be several more Ft Smith `AR`, AM, FM, TV stations really in OK. We already know that 1650 AM is in OK. Anyone DXing anystation licensed to a stateline city better research true location. Only other decodee is RF 20 from Tulsa, as commonly. RF 9 does not develop but not often anything even BAD to be seen. FCC TV Query show not a single 9 of any type or power in OK - ex-KWTV-land, and none in KS either, altho several in TX including full powers. But in today`s PTA along with KHBS surely it is KAFT, ``13`` virtual, Fayetteville AR, of Ark Educ TV (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2137 monitoring: confirmed UT Thursday May 12 at 0030 on WRMIs: into Maryland SDR: 9395 S9/+10; 9455 S7/S9; considerably off boresight for both. Also confirmed UT Thursday May 12 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5010, S9+5 back into Tennessee SDR with hi storm noise level; and 9395 into Missouri SDR, S9+10/25. Some of these also confirmed ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees, Dear Glenn: Here are my monitoring reports for Wednesday PM, World of Radio #2137, 9455, 0030, 0055 (45433); 9395, 0031, 0054, 0058 (45433); 0055, 9455, May 12 UT [Thu] 9395, 0131, 0142, 0158 (45433), May 12 UT [Thu] (Lemke, Richard)`` WORLD OF RADIO 2138 contents: Alaska, Algeria, Antarctica, Australia, Brasil, Canada, China non, Colombia, Cuba, Europe, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, Russia non, Turkey, (UAE), UK, USA, Vanuatu; propagation outlook ()country referred to not in order WOR 2138 is available as of 0123 UT Friday May 13, 2022 (mp3 stream) https://www.w4uvh.net/wor2138.m3u (mp3 download) https://www.w4uvh.net/wor2138.mp3 Or via http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html Also linx to podcast services. At 0153 direct: 5850 S9+20/30 not noisy; 7730 S9+10 noisy and seems undermodulated. Before 0159, 5850 at least overrides my last few words, even tho, ``with a standard disclaimer; I say again, standard disclaimer`` was not enough for the first one to stand: maybe I need to say it thrice (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, May 12 at 0631, this WRMI is S9+20/30 and distorted, also throwing spurspikes widely to the lower side, audible to 9355 vs 9330 WBCQ, and *still* audible as low as 9185, matching the spikes to mod on 9455 with a second radio. Something`s odd at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, May 12 at 1930, WRMI with NO VOA news; after a pause, fill music starts, and no `Flashpoint Ukraine` either at 1935. Alan Roe reported the same problem yesterday, so I ask Jeff White. He says there was a problem on VOA’s side with audio streams and they are trying to fix it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2138) This report dispatched at 0449 UT May 13

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, May 11 at 1528, NO signals from LRA36 into 8 KiwiSDRs, 4 in Argentina, 4 in Brasil. Manuel Méndez got a whatsapp notification yesterday that RNASG was going to broadcast this Wednesday at 1500 repeating the Saturday show. They started to, says Kari Kallio, Finland, but dumped off the air already at 1508*. That explains it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GERMANY [non]. 11850, May 11 at 0634, YL talk in unknown language, S4/S7 direct. Aoki shows it`s DW in Hausa via FRANCE. I really have no ``feel`` for recognizing Hausa, one of the major languages of Nigeria, no keywords like ``imnida``, a giveaway for Korean. I investigate via Google Translate: how would they say ``Hier ist die Deutsche Welle``? --- ``Ga Deutsche Welle``. How about ``This is the Voice of America``? --- ``Wannan ita ce Muryar Amurka``. The ADDX language schedules show Hausa still on SW via all these: AWR, VOA, TRT, BBC, IRIB, RFI, VON, DW, CRI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 104.9, May 11 at 1702 UT, ``KQSN Ponca City, oklahomabull.com, 104-7 The Bull`` also offering bull rides, and what else? Country music. That URL converts to https://www.myhometownpost.com/1047thebull as part of a group also including WBBZ 1230, 95.9 Bob FM, KSOK 103.3 & 1280, the latters axually in Arkansas City, Kansas. I`m bandscanning on the caradio as Hepburn tropo map for ``Ern No America`` predicts as of 1800, a Level 5 = strong tropoblob almost to Enid covering eastern OK, and large parts of the ArkLaTex --- but nothing special now, not even Tulsa enhancement. Similar on the F5LEN tropo map for the ``west coast``, but less extensive. 104.9 I also inspect, which bore The Metroplex S Asian station before: now fading out and in is ``Wild 104-9`` which per WTFDA db is merely KKWD Bethany OK, 6/6 kW, 100 m HAAT. Whatever became of newish 104.9, KEUC Ringwood, much closer but only 0.1/0.1 kW, 21 m HAAT with EWTN; is it on the air? I haven`t heard it even on the west side of Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2137 monitoring ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Next: 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Robert W Gruska, Glendale NY, who sent a PMO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and says: ``World of Radio has been one of the few programs available on radio that I look forward to listening to week after week since first listening to the broadcasts on WRNO back in the 1980s using a portable multi-band radio that included shortwave. ** OKLAHOMA. May 10 at 1715 UT on caradio in garage, another FM check compared to yesterday noon:
93.9, KIMY Watonga has now managed to modulate, as one of thegospelstation.com acknowledging support from the Pollard Theater, Guthrie, which I had assumed was a secular institution. Website has a coverage map centred in OK but with outliers in TX, AR, OH, TN. Tho singularly named, it`s axually a 17-station network: 88.3 South Central OK 88.3 Broken Bow, OK 88.3 Dibrell, TN 90.1 HD2 Edmond OK 91.5 Henryetta/South Tulsa OK 91.5 Wichita Falls, TX/Lawton, Duncan, OK 91.9 Granite/Altus OK 93.9 Watonga/Kingfisher/Weatherford, OK 99.7 HD4 Amarillo, TX 100.1 Chickasha, OK 101.5 Oklahoma City Metro 102.7 Paris, TX 103.9 Bartlesville, OK 104.7 Amarillo, TX 105.1 Ada, OK 106.9 Hillsboro, OH 107.3 Edmond/Guthrie, OK Note the 90.1 HD2 Edmond, which means is sapping some of the power out of KUCO, our classical station with a signal much weaker than equivalent commercial OKC stations. But renting the HD2 to gospel huxters helps pay their bills. You would never know there is such a connexion by inspecting the KUCOFM.com website. 88.3, at 1717 UT May 10, dead air in stereo from the KJIL 99.1 translator in Enid, K202BY, at least for a few minutes; modulating when next checked at 0226 UT May 11. 104.7, at 1718 UT May 10, dead air in mono with some CCI. Normal fringe dominator is KQSN Ponca City, 25/25 kW. 1830 recheck now driving, is on with slogan ``The Maul`` -- or Moll -- or Mall? They all sound alike, but in db as ``The Bull``. Why name station for a stupid animal? Could the DA have been a silent unID unfed nearby RF feeder instead? Would expect one of those to be $ tereo (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** ROMANIA. From Wolfgang Buschel, more about missing RRI frequencies: ``Sender Țigănești TX1, -- missing transmitter function since April 1, 2021: ... is the 2nd attempt, after a wrong order with a wrong component to repair attempt in 2021. 73 wb`` and forwards this from someone in translation: ``Good afternoon, here is the promised answer to the question about the reactivation of the Țigănești TX1 transmitter: A conversation with RADIOCOM revealed that they were [awaiting] the delivery of a capacitor from China. Delivery date would be June at the earliest. Kind regards, Alexander`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, May 10 at 2252, VOT English is S9+10/20 into Marylandm reciting entire English transmission schedule as always in somewhat jumbled form, and with quite a hum; IS and cut off at 2255* before can switch to bonus German. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 10 at 0501-0506, UR1 via WRMI with `Ukraine: Security Issue`, the fast-talker in English for May 9, Day 76 of the War, VG into Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2137 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday May 10 at 0037 the 0030 on WRMIs direct, 9395 & 9455 both S9/+10 but somewhat lower modulation level on 9395. Also confirmed Tuesday May 10 at 2230 on WRMI 9955: S6/9+10 direct with no jamming audible; then at 2250 checking remotes to the SSE where it`s allegedly aimed, little or nothing to Boa Vista or St Lucia; nor even Knoxville to the NNW. But it`s S9/+10 to Maryland as lite jamming becomes audible and builds toward 2300 for Radio Libertad, since there is no liberty allowed in CUBA. The Other Side: ``Cuba touts itself as a 'medical powerhouse,' but many citizens have to go abroad for treatment --- Most of them apply for humanitarian visas to be treated in 'the belly of the monster'. DDC Madrid 06 Mayo 2022 - 19:33 CEST`` https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1651858422_39318.html Next: 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Robert W Gruska, Glendale NY, who sent a PMO to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and says: ``World of Radio has been one of the few programs available on radio that I look forward to listening to week after week since first listening to the broadcasts on WRNO back in the 1980s using a portable multi-band radio that included shortwave. Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Doug Smith replies re contradictory info about KKFI 90.1 KC/MO which I DXed at some 300 miles/500 km: ``The 5.31 kW KKFI facility is a backup transmitter. If you look in the FCC LMS records, the "service" is "FS" instead of "FM". There's an old permit (superseded) for a different site but both that permit and the actual site in use are east of I-435, well inside Missouri`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. RF 12, May 10 at 1450 UT, tropo up again much like yesterday morning, lots of BAD VHF & UHF DTV signals, but only this decodes, KSCW 33-1 Wichita but carrying Eyewitness News from KWCH ``12`` on 12, which itself is really on RF 19 (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0320 UT May 11
