unjammed signal via RMI via defective ISS FRANCE transmitter never
on-frequency, and wavering slightly, difficultizing measurement; with

in Yanqui-imposed EDT: 9-10 pm Mon-Wed; 9-11 pm Thu-Sat; 9-12 mn Sun.
And ALSO on 5800 which is/was really WRMI, I was unaware of: M/W/F 11
pm-mn. Current WRMI skedgrid shows System B in bluegreen, otherwise
mostly into 9955, as Radio República on 5800 at 11 pm-mn but on
Wed/Thu/Fri. Beware! That could draw jamming to a previously free
frequency not only during those three hours but anywhen affecting
other programs! As yet unconfirmed, as WRMI itself is totally off the
air. DOW variations too confusing for the jammers, often left running
after RR is off.

noticed before. EiBi shows MiniTransAt Sailing at 06-07 from Issoudun
for N Atlantic, but not marked as DRM. It is N = DRM in HFCC for dates
19 July to 30 Sept only, so about to expire, 100 kW at 320 degrees
thisaway for all these CIRAF zones: 04,05,09,17,18,27,36,80. This
would be bad news for Tsiganeshti, RRI in Arabic if it really run past
0630, unrechecked, which I at first thought might be the DRM, on
early. Some of these TransAt DRMs were really only half an hour. By
now I`m listening direct, off computer so can`t try to decode the DRM

Sept 29 at 0030 on WRMI 5010 which is off the air. Earlier in the day,
Jeff had hoped to keep that one going. NOT confirmed either, UT Thu at
0130 on WRMI 9395, which has been off the air for some time. Shortly
WRMI would be totally silent, so WOR may be hard to hear for an
unknown period. The UT Friday 0130 first airings on 5850 & 7730 had
already been canceled last week, and no response to our request to
restore them; UT Fri at 0330 on 7780 would be next, but unlikely to be
funxional again already.

No longer facing at 0130 Friday deadline, WOR 2158 may not be ready
until somewhat later. I anyway post the nominal sked including WRMI in
case some of them can resume in the following week. Even if SW off,
with studio power the 9955 webcasts may appear, assuming there is
studio power to accept our uploads. Confirmed connexion tested at 1903

programa of the season, ``muy especial``, not sure why. Cites geo
coordinates, base foundation date 17 Dec 1952. This is 28 Sept,
springtime! Temp a balmy -9 C, wind chill -13 since winds are only 8
kph from south. 1447 phone numbers and other contact info; 1450 song;
then internet out from remote; 1502 resuming in chat with male voice
but chopped off amid at 1514* and never back on by 1533 when I quit.
Maybe they kept recording and will get more of it out on the Saturday
replay?

República via Costa Rica, gone for a decade or more. 9965 used by

How about jammers around 1530? Cannot detect any on current Martí
frequencies, 11860, 11930, 13605. The 11s are not very strong anyway
and 11860 has fast SAH, presumably QRyeMen; 13605 so strong cannot be
certain no J now. One would expect some SW jamming to continue from
sites further east in The Greatest Antille, but winds aside, they
already have electricity supply problems. RM helpfully covers weather
warnings for Cuba. But at 1845, definite jamming on all three, 13605
worst, as heard by Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11950, Sept 27 at 2305, the *only* RHC or Rebelde SW
frequency on air, quick check of all possible fundamentals 5.025 to
15.73 MHz into Maryland SDR. EiBi shows 11950 site Bauta, but so are

The studio staff at VON must be very demoralized, what sounds like
very well-produced programming being mistreated this way; OR, like so
many SW services, clueless about what happen to their product on the

air direct from REE for the third? day in a row, no one noticing at
Noblejas? Geez. Still DA at 1832 check into Maryland SDR.

15520, Sept 27 at 1643, absolutely dead air at S9/+12 into Canary
SDR.

11670 is only other frequency on this early, 1644 in Arabic this
semihour M-F, with squeal, S8/9+12. To be followed by Russian
1700-1730 M-F despite azimuth 161 across Africa! No antenna toward
Russia. Each 200 kW frequency is stuck on a single angle, no matter
what the language or presumed `target`. Something`s always nonsensical
at Noblejas, messed up in Madrid. Wait a minute! 1700 into Brazilian
Portuguese, about Venezuelan migration, not in Russian. Would RR have
been on 15520 if modulated?

The language lineups in Aoki are not identical: 15520 with Spanish M-F
1500-1730; 11670 breaking away to Arabic & Russian M-F 1630-1730; and
never Portuguese on either.

How about EiBi? 11670 at 1630-1730 M-F in Arabic, Portuguese, no
Russian. 15520 differs: 1630-1700 M-F Arabic, but 1700-1730 depends on
DOW: M/W/F Russian, Tue Sephardic, Thu/Sat/Sun Spanish; no Portuguese
ever. This resembles WRTH 2022 sked for B-21 with 12030 & 11685
instead, and everything one real UT hour later since REE caves in to
stupid DST during A-season, inapplicable in many targets, but more
convenient in studio keeping times the ``same``.

But by 1715, 15520 still dead air, of course! and 11670 with that
annoying squeal. It`s equally bad on LSB and USB tuning, so part of
the DSB modulation. AMNarrow is not enough to escape it either. 15520

** U S A. Sept 27 at 1830, all scheduled frequencies of WRMI are still
on the air into Maryland SDR: 21525, 15770, 9955, 9455, 9395, 7730;
mostly with Brother Scare, who assures us there were no dinosaurs, let
alone anything 10 megayears ago.

21525, Sept 27 at 2016, this WRMI, `Radio Africa` hits S9+10 during
`Healing Word` program; normal JBA carrier getting sporadic E boost.

Hurricane Ian plans to landfall Florida at Venice, then up the length
of the state, so WRMI won`t get a direct hit but high circumwinds may
well cause voluntary or involuntary absences, as may power outages.
Keep an ear on WRMI frequencies.

In a lengthy thread on the WOR iogroup about SW station expenses, Ken
Zichi suggests that WRMI might install lots of solar panels, and/or
wind power on all that farm/ranch property it occupies. However, I
think it`s not owned outright; hydro power not an option in flat Fla,
unlike it was for HCJB, and tsunamis, storm surges cannot be depended
upon, nor hurricane force winds. Now Jeff White just replied:

``Well, it’s a nice idea. Certainly electricity is our largest
expense. It would be nice if we could use solar power. But we have had
a number of companies visiting us over the years proposing such a
thing, and when they find out how much electricity we use, they
realize it’s useless. You would have to cover the whole square mile
with solar panels, and I don’t know if that would even be enough.

And we don’t own the property. We lease it, and our lease only permits
us to use a certain amount of area for the antennas. The rest of it is
for the owner’s cows to graze.

Like I said, it’s a great idea in theory. But there’s just no
substitute for electricity at this point. We could do like many if not
most other stations are already doing or planning — reduce power.
Most listeners wouldn’t even notice it. At the HFCC in Bulgaria in
August, everybody was talking about it. It would be a better
alternative than reducing the number of hours of transmissions. One
station in the US has just had to do this, and it’s a real shame.

Kiribati on 846 kHz. I have just returned from a Cook Islands
DXpedition where I had reception of Radio Kiribati on 1440 kHz at
excellent levels. There was no sign of anything from them on 846. An
email to station was simply answered with, “We are no longer on 846
Khz, we are only on 1440 Khz” with no other explanation given. Best

``Chris, That`s interesting. But the 1440 station at HQ is thousands
of miles away in W Kiribati from 846 in E Kiribati, also two timezones
apart. Finally found names that distancefromto can work with: 3290 km
= 2044 statute miles = 1776 nautical miles.

All circumstantial evidence points to the London station still on air.
Maybe at Tarawa they don`t know what`s really going on at Kiritimati?

``Hi Glenn, I have found that information is always hard to get from
these Pacific stations. However, that is what I heard back from them,
and no sign of 846 from my monitoring. I suspect that if 846 kHz
London is off, they are using the Ronton 93.5 txer instead?

Incidentally, Radio Cook Islands dismantled their mast on the Matavera
site a few years ago due to corrosion, then went to the AM standby
transmitter site at Black Rock after that. Despite what the WRTVH site
says, they are no longer on MW, only on FM now. Best regards, Chris``

If the 846 signal as early as 0430 audible to the north and east be
not Xmas Island, whence could it be? Not many SDRs in the Pacific but
maybe someone could get a TDOA fix on it? Believe I have DFed it from
one angle appropriately but may try again. Beyond in the Pacific are
only 4 others much farther: 2 kW in NZ; 10 kW in Canberra, 5 kW in
Cairns; 2.5 kW in Carnarvon WA, per WRTH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, Sept 26 at 1509, V of Martyrs Korea,
Maldives service, English not Dhivehi about Adam, Eve, and Jesus,
usual amazing signal here on the other worldside, S9/+20. Possible
Uzbekistan site was once proposed and still referred to, but does not
fit: other Tashkent relays are nowhere near as strong here, and this
one is not off-frequency either. Other guess is TAIWAN, but no fit
either unless erroneously aimed thisaway. Kununurra, Australia makes
more sense to me propagationally, as path is trans-equatorial, and is
also used by VOM,K for other emissions, but would also be way offbeam
to here. VOM,K refuses to divulge site. Still missing from HFCC unlike
their simulBurmese on 11825 from KNX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 26 at 0613, VON is on, S9+10/20 but just
barely modulated. Something`s always abnormal at Abuja. 7255, Sept 26
at 1753-1816+, NO VON signal into Canary SDR, just JBA TIBET almost
on-frequency thru 1800 timesignal. Alternatives? 11770 with Chinese
only, 9690 nothing except ACI splash (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 97.5, Sept 26 at 2124 UT on caradio, check which Okie is
in at the moment, often a toss-up. Not KMOD Tulsa but ``Werewolf
97-5``, pronounced Warewolf or Wearwolf. I first reported this fuzzy
name almost two sesquimonths ago on July 2, as in

Now I`m wondering if it`s an unique slogan, so search the WTFDA FM
Database on Werewolf -- to find: Nothing, not even this Alva station.
Turns out its listing which I quoted in my old report as off the air

reference. They must not be reading my reports, posted to the WTFDA
gg, which include significant updating info!

Here`s a clue from FCC FM Query:
