Glenn Hauser logs January 29-30, 2023 |
|
Tuesday, January 31 2023
** CUBA. 5025, Jan 30 at 0720, R. Rebelde is on and modulating, but nothing on X2 = 10050; despite frequent chex, have not heard that nor 10080 = 5040 X2 RHC lately. It seems 10080 was last heard Jan 12; 10050 Dec 11. Something`s not wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13680, Sun Jan 29 at 2138, RHC in Arabic, not Esperanto; and 15140 is off: either of which have sometimes spoken Esperantely. Something`s always wrong at RHC. However, Jan 30 at 2203, 15140 still on late with headlines and news in Spanish, S9+10/20 the SSOB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GUAM. 15680, Jan 30 at 2202, S7/S9 in unID SE Asian? language, OOFSOB = One Of Few Signals On Band. EiBi shows at 2200-2230, KSDA in NJ to Indonesia; Aoki, Nga. EiBi readme.txt language list shows NGA - all caps, means Ngangela/Nyemba: Angola, but that can`t be right; while NJ, not New Joisey dialect, but: Ngaju Dayak: Indonesia-Borneo (0.9m) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Jan 30 at 0652, S9+10/20 of dead air except for squeal from VON. Something`s always abnormal at Abuja (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, Mon Jan 30 at 2306, token M/W/F English from REE, after news, Amy Egan interviewing a woman director? about a play based on letters between two women of different ages. S9 +20 on NAm frequency into Maryland SDR, weaker on meter but still VG on 12030 to ME off the back, and 11940 to SAm off the sidish. Still zero signal on 11670 or 11685 to Africa. Occupies rest of semihour with 2 minutes of song about letters to conclude (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, Jan 30 at 2309, VOT VG into UTwente, last news item about Toyota going to build E-SUVs in Turkey; 2311 `Review of the Turkish Press`, as the CCCCCCI starts from E Turkistan, std denunciation. 2313 song. 2317 `Feeling Supreme/The Healing Spring` about health benefits of pickles, evidently also various other foods pickled such as Sauerkraut: good for intestines, anti-oxident, affects moods, ending with ``Stay healthy, stay happy``. This bit surely has a catchy themetune: what is it? 2324 multi-lingual ID reel filler, during which I recognize a few more languages which WRTH says are NOT on VOT SW sked: Greek, Romanian, Hungarian. Tsk: BTW, Hungarian is related to Turkish. 2326 song. Not attentive during 2330 NBC Eveningly News; 2353 s/off, 2355 IS, 2356 restart IS with one German ID before chopoff at 2356.7 uncovering XJPBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4095 CW, Jan 30 at 0713 UT, Desert Whooper beacon somewhere in the Southwest, DW ID and sweeps upward; JBA in noise level, unheard for months on occasional chex. 2097.3 CW, single-letter beacon A every dekasecond is still JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13563.5 CW, Jan 29 at 2137, PCO, 4-milliwatt HIFER beacon at Pine, ColoradO, is JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2175 monitoring: Confirmed Sunday January 29 at 2100.5 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S9+10/20 into nearby Noale SDR; 2058 ME music, faded out at 2100 for ID claiming frequencies are 7125!, 9510, 1323. During announcement, music CCI JBA underneath with slow SAH, probably Smooth Radio, Brighton, England. Missed checking UT Monday January 30 at 0030 on WRMI 7780: did anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Monday January 30 at 0400 on WBCQ Area 51, 6160 minus 64 Hz = 6159.936, S9/+5 VG into Maryland SDR. Next: 0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [canceled? please check if awake] 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated. Thanks this week to Ray Lappeus, Freeland, Michigan, with a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - in US funds but not necessarily. One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid, OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4980, Jan 30 at 0717, S9+20 of dead air, another WRMI not turned off, #4 supposedly scheduled 23-05 UT only with System C Legends; but the System C program schedule below unshows 4980 at all! nor for any other System (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17790, Jan 29 at 2131, S9+10 of dead air, still past 2141. WRMI did not turn off #7, scheduled 1500-2100 only, Radio Africa Network, toward S America, not Africa. NO details of programming as perhaps ashamed of some of the dead and discredited gospel huxters they are so excited, jumping for joy, to diffuse. WRMI sked refers to https://www.radiopanam.com/ where no program sked can be found, nor specifically via: https://www.radiopanam.com/impact/radio-africa-network/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 900, Jan 30 at 2230-2300 UT, KSGL Wichita KS, I find myself listening to while resting/napping for some nice music: nostalgic love songs, like `Midnight Gambler`, `Green Eyes` today. It`s 250/28 watts, direxional E/W squished but sufficient signal to Enid, barely beyond the daytime fringe contour per radio-locator. I never hear it at night tho XEW hardly merits protexion any more. KSGL is split/personality between `Music You Remember` -- is that a satellite syndication? And gospel-huxtering, fortunately each in distinct segments. This leads to program schedules and other info: http://www.ksglradio.com/ Official FCC sunset times in UT: 2330 Jan, 0015 Feb, 0030 March... I think it used to be IBOC, but too weak here to notice noise circa 887, 913; and no longer listed as such in NRC AM Log (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, Jan 30 at 0653, R. Vanuatu is JBA still here, unchecked whether 7890 & 11835 after 0659 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA 9/kHz split MW carrier search, Jan 30 at 0656: 855-2, 1044, 1089 kHz. Lowers would be Spain, but none on 1089, rather 700+ kW of TalkSport synchros, UK. No 846 TP Kiritimati this time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 10001 USB, Jan 30 at 0718, 2-way intermittent, unseems Spanish; inadvisable right next to WWV/H! Glenn Hauser logs January 29, 2023 |
|
Sunday, January 29 2023
** CUBA. 11760, Jan 29 at 0644, RHC in English, S9+10/20, supposed to be Spanish only and off much earlier; while the correct English frequencies of 5040, 6000, 6060, 6100, 6165, 12000 are all OFF already. 11760 is still on at 0732 starting jazz show, S9+10. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13740, Sun Jan 29 at 1600, RHC on here at S9/+10, not 13700, but no spurs; Spanish ID and supposedly only on 11760 & 15140 after 1600. IS, and opening Esperanto, 1603 wrong info for all three weekly broadcasts as I have quoted time and again. Today Esp`o not only on usual 11760 and 15140 but extras 13740 and by 1610, 15230 is also still on, JBM S9. 15140 is S9+20/30 with adequate modulation level but some squeal. Somethings` always wrong at RHC. EiBi shows 13700 at 1400-1600 only, but 13740 at 1200-1600 & 2200-0500; 15230 at 1300-1600 & 2300-0600, no mention of Esperanto for any except 11760 & 15140 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** DENMARK [and non]. 25800, Jan 29 at 1615, JBA carrier the OSOB, while Andy Robins & Harold Frodge in MI, Andy Reid in Ontario, have been getting more than that before and at 1700 today. It`s World Music Radio, 60 watts, 24/7 per op SHN as of 12/31. Per Aoki & EiBi it`s the only SWBC station active on the 11 mb. There used to be something DRM from Germany? HFCC shows imaginary registrations from Bulgaria 26000, Vatican 26010 for IRDR; and WMR might alternatively use 25795 or 25805. A few years ago there were US low-power NBFM ``remote pickup`` or ``talkback`` transmitters, 25870 from WFLA, 25950 from Denver, 25990 from The Metroplex, or vice versa? And several more in the 26.1-26.5 range, all gone now? Never reported or listed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS. 6020, Jan 29 at 0733, JBA carrier, presumed Delta Radio International, as being reported active as far away as BC by Walt Salmaniw. Per EiBi, only other signal now would be Vietnam, but well before sunset there. 6020 suffers from 6030 Cuban jamming against nothing bleedover. DRI also on 11730 but no signal there here. It`s a low-powered, irregular, ex-pirate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Jan 29 at 0635, VON is S9+20/30 with music but just barely modulated. Something`s always abysmal at Abuja. Ron Howard was also hearing it modulating before 0700 yesterday. Manuel Méndez and Walt Salmaniw also hearing it before 0700 today. For me today it`s still on and JBM past 0741 at S9/+10. Supposed to switch from Hausa to Fulfulde at 0700; English after 0800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAO TOME E PRINCIPE. 15460.072, Jan 29 at 1612, S9+10/20, the SSOB in African language, from USAGM`s most capable off-frequency site, Pinheira. EiBi shows VOA this semihour in KNK, which is keyed to mean ``KinyaRwanda/KiRundi service of VOA, BBC``. How different are they? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwanda-Rundi (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2175 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday January 29 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 to Maryland SDR, S9/+10 to Louisiana. Also confirmed UT Sunday January 29 at 0435 about 6 minutes into, so started circa 0429 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+20 groundwave into nearby SDR. Lots of CW QRM, some contest, best evaded by LSB tuning. One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid, OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU [and non]. 7260, Jan 29 at 0635, JBA carrier from R. Vanuatu; by 0730 check, 11835 S8/S9 with island music, 3 x 3945. Compared at 0735 to NZ on 13755: S9+10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA split 9/kHz MW carrier search, Jan 29 at 0636, trying earlier than usual: 693, 774, 855, 1053, 1521. 693 probably BBC Radio 5 Live synchros almost 300 kW total; 1053 Talk Sport from UK, 500 kW altho also weaker Spaniards listed; 774 and 855 likely Spains as usual. Notably absent is 684, used to be 600 kW from Sevilla RNE1, but power cut since last year, or off? MWlist.org shows 24h at 150/100 kW, which ought to be detectable here if the other weaker ones are. As it`s Sunday, no TP signal on 846 from Kiritimati (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1958 UT January 29 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
