Glenn Hauser logs May 9-10, 2025 |
|
Saturday, May 10 2025
** JAPAN. 18131.8 USB, May 9 at 2211, JF1EHM with fonetik call. QRZ.com: ``JF1EHM Japan flag Japan, Ishida Hiroaki, 2-5 Yoshino-cho, Minami-ku, Yokohama-city, Kanagawa, 232-0014, Japan`` ``my name is Jim``. Not many phone sigs on band, but a minute later I`m hearing Malta, quite a range (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MALTA. 18124 USB, May 9 after 2212, station working pileups of N Americans on same frequency, with every quick contact says he is on island of Gozo, Malta, but seldom with callsign which I never copy completely - and the contacts are mostly uttering only their own calls! One is VE9BS. DXheat cluster shows it`s 9H5BV, on Gozo, name Dionne which I also heard once; altho a few minutes away are reports of a 9H5BZ on same frequency. Oh oh, QRZ.com lookup shows the above reports are confused: both are on Gozo but: ``9H5BV Malta flag Malta, GEORGE CAMILLERI, CASA NAUTICA, TRIW GHAXQET L-GHAJN, M SCALA GOZO, VCT 108, Malta`` While Dione is this one: ``9H5BZ Malta flag Malta, Dione Caruana, `Maria`, 6, Church Street, Zebbug, Gozo ZBB1202, Malta`` - did not sound like a YL. Has strict rules about who she? will contact, at least 3000 km away, and ``My name is Dione. I live in the Island of Gozo in an old village of Zebbug. I am a senior nurse and work in the Emergency Department in one of our Local General Hospital. I am married to Ben and have 2 lovely daughters.`` Many photos on qrz.com indicate that 9H5BZ is indeed an OM; but you never know, trans one way or another? [non]. And their first contact also heard: ``VE9BS Canada flag Canada, Byron Smith, Deer Island, New Brunswick, Canada, QSL: No QSL at this time`` with lots of photos of the island, equipment (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 95.5, May 9 circa 1930/2000 UT, LP pirate playing rock music still on, peaking around the intersexion of Cleveland and Garriott in Enid. Never heard any announcements, but I only hear it for a few minutes at a time as I drive thru; $ tereo pilot is on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 15500, 17715, 15520, 15390, Fri May 9 at 2200, token English from SNR on all direct, previewing interview about an Australian theatre group dealing with disabilities appearing in Madrid. 2201 news leads with ``gotta pappa`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785, May 9 at 2158, no signal from VOT English direct; nor at 2225 check into UTwente, nor on accidentalternate 9875. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2294 monitoring: confirmed Friday May 9 at 1300 on WRMI 15770, JBA S1/S3, first weekly airing. Also confirmed Friday May 9 at 2051 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.995+, S8/9 but noisy into UTwente across Europe. Next: 0300 UT Saturday WTWW 5085 [resuming this week?]; 1430 UT Saturday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1730 UT Saturday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM [1900/2100]; 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE [NEW]; 2300 UT Saturday WTWW 9475 [suspended]; 0230vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0400]; 1030 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1900 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW; or 7570? 7780?; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service program, by MO or check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or not necessarily in US funds via PayPal to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9930, May 9 at 2207 WTWW TOMBS without any spurs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, May 10 at 0100, this WTWW is back on air, presumably Ancient Word Radio. Was watching the waterfall from W1NT NH as I had been monitoring 5130 WBCQ on it. Think 5085 just came on, at first more signal about 5087 then to 5085, and no spurs showing. at 0102 seems to put out 5087 modulation again briefly. At 0130, mod/noise on the low side. Hope they can keep it going until 0330 for WORLD OF RADIO at 0300 UT Saturday as originally scheduled (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Pre-AAAWWW WBCQ monitoring into NH SDR, May 9 at 2355: 7490 -70 Hz = 7489.93 with FKB S9/+10. 5130 IS & ID S9/+10. 3265 also on with FKB, S9/+10 but pulse QRM from 3260+. 6160 -73 Hz = 6159.927 with other music S9+10. 9330 off at 2358 for antenna rotation. at 2359 Allan comes on live on 5130 // 7490. May 10 at 0000, `WTO` theme and talkovers, first about new pope; ``enjoy it``; ``speed``? Now on 9330, 7490, 5130 and 3265. Brings up Angela on phone who must be back in Fla, while Allan is in Maine on maintenance visit. We hardly hear from her during the hour. Allan is quadricasting, from master control where they stil have three copper-pair phone lines, two of which were dead. Took telco four days to fix. 0010 Freddy interrupts with a phone call, and long discussion about tractors (!) ensues. 0023 C&W song. 0035 datestamp as 9 of May YOOLF 2025, quadricasting. Except for SuperStition, most equipment is 40-70 years old. 5130 needed more voltage on driver; put in another plate transformer. 5130 now measured at 5129.919. 0052 talk about cars and other vehicles. 0057 emails. Did not get around to pinpointing 3265 before it went off, but in past has been way off more than 100 Hz to plus side, unlike the others (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 660, May 9 at 0625 UT, Navajo chanting, so KTNN AZ is obviously again failing to protect New York; when it is DA, really not heard here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5100.0, May 9 at 0630, beeps, i.e. CW-like carrier on & off at the precise rate of 26 times per minute. What`s this?
