Glenn Hauser logs June 2, 2020 |

Tuesday, June 02 2020
** CUBA. Correxion: initially I called this REE instead of RHC! Fixed:
11950-11975, June 1 at 2250, RHC splattering out of 11950 transmitter; sounds a lot like the local noise blobs OG&E has been working on, so at first feared they remain, but these have matching modpeaxe to 11950. Not unusual for this frequency to be active before 2300 despite its razón de ser the `Mesa Redonda` separate TV audio soundtrack hour nominally from 7 pm local (not 00-01 UT, don`t you believe Aoki/NDXC`s outdated standard time info among others for RHC). Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 9980, June 2 at 1331, girl-molester Brother Scare is here on reactivated WWCR-4 transmitter; this frequency available 12-24 UT, elsewhen 7520 or 5890, the latter again BSing circa 0600. Looks like TOM has expanded greatly onto this formerly mostly-idle transmitter. WWCR still has not updated its transmitter or program schedules for June. So how about TOM? Ha! Still a year out-of-date: https://overcomerministry.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Overcomer-Ministry-Radio-Log-June-2019.pdf (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. (9690), Now I`ve listened to the archive recording of the first resumed REE English broadcast June 1: https://mediavod-lvlt.rtve.es/resources/TE_SEMIF01/mp3/9/2/1591100322329.mp3 Justin Coe & Alison Hughes are together again, but they speak for only the first 4 minutes; no one at REE has been lost, but some colleagues in other parts of RNE. In general tribute to COVID-19 victims, they introduce this beautiful piece of music, Requiem by Francisco Guerrero, not familiar to me, but even in extended podcast it`s truncated, cut off abruptly at 32:42. And it looks like they are back to their old format for ``English``, mostly filled with music rather than much if anything about current events in Spain or anywhere (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, June 2 at 1615, WLCR via WBCQ-6 is on in English, but poor signal, this hour registered as only 250 kW at 300 degrees to western and central Canada --- if on 15105! AFAIK, WBCQ-6 SuperStation has never attained any frequency but 9330, despite http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A20&broadc=BCQ' for 6195, 13590, 15105, 12080, at various times besides 9330. AW has now twitted about 9330 resuming: ``Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ 22m[inutes ago at 1505 UT June 2] The BIG one back on the air. Replaced the screen bypass capacitor (again). Hopefully it will hold. Tune 9330khz for WLC programming. Today at 3pm tune in 7490khz for good tunes and commentary. 3265khz evenings at 9pm for more. All for you on the BCQ. A&A in front of the PA [caption].`` He still doesn`t say *what* programming is on 3265, inaudible in OK, but here`s a report to the WOR iog: ``WBCQ, Monticello, Maine, 3265, May 28, 0455, EE with re-broadcast of WHVW, 950 AM, Hyde Park, New York programming with continuous eclectic mix of older jazz/big band tunes. ID at 0412 "950 On Your Radio, WHVW", more music, this time older R&B, then off at 0413 in mid-song. No WBCQ ID heard; 34233 (JRC NRD 535D; antenna 28m longwire with 9:1 Unun) (Robert Butterfield, Columbia, MD, USA)`` WHVW, 500/57 watts U1, is the station of Pirate Joe = J. P. Ferraro, AW`s longtime cohort, not the only case such programming has filled time on WBCQs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1520, June 2 at 0605 UT, KOKC OKC with equal level QRM, soon recognized as the KYND Cypress TX barker-for-business loop, despite being a 25 kW DAYTIMER. This has been going on for over a year, at least sporadically. Where`s the FCC? KOKC must not even care to complain, as it does not care either to resume its licensed full power of 50 kW. Who cares about ``clear channel 1520``, with a translator on 95.3? 1540-, same time, a LAH here no doubt the off-frequency Houston-market neighbor KGBC Galveston TX; ditto, FCC. 1560, not hearing Vietnamese from usually dominant KGOW Bellaire TX; something changed there? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1370, June 2 at 0559 UT, I strain to make out a station slightly atop the graveyard-like jumble, and can almost imagine an ID as KGNO, and mention of FM 103.something? That Dodge City KS station cannot be heard on 5 kW ND day power as it used to be, at least at SR/SS, but night power, if any, probably running 24h is 230 watts. NRC AM Log does not show any FM for it, nor does own token website: https://www.swksradio.com/kgno-1370-am/ The Log does show a possible 1370 with FM 103.5, KAWL York NE with 176 ND watts night on 1370 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. The local noise blobs are still rampant, checked June 2 at 0536-, typically ~20 kHz wide, and now I see a pattern, at intervals of ~360 kHz apart: starting with 9850-9870 at S7-S8; then: 9490-9510, 9130-9150, 8770-8790, 8410-8430, 8055-8070, 7697-7717, 7340-7355, circa 6993 weak. At 1328 June 2, I find some higher ones at different intervals: 11215-11300, 10905-10945, 10690-10720, 10560-10580, 10200-10225, 9830-9855. At 1418, even higher, 11630-11655 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1717 UT June 2

** CUBA. 11950-11975, June 1 at 2250, REE splattering out of 11950 transmitter; sounds a lot like the local noise blobs OG&E has been working on, so at first feared they remain, but these have matching modpeaxe to 11950. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** INDIA. 7380, June 1 at 0053, S9+25 signal with DSB tone close to 1000 Hz, almost overcoming 7375 Romania; what? 0101 YL in unID language, music with very minor harmonies; 0109 now OM in S Asian language. It`s the AIR Sindhi service at 01-02, which Jose Jacob said resumed May 9. Sindhis are in both northern India, and Pakistan. But this is an ``external`` service; HFCC registered as 0045-0200, 400 [sic] kW at 300 degrees from Bengaluru (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6925, June 2 at 0043, VP signal, mushy music chanting & yelling, on USB & LSB, but unstable carrier seems reduced. Several logs here say it`s Yeah Man Radio, but no complaints about the audio, rather ``sounding great here``: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,67858.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, June 1 at 2130, accurate timesignal and ID as REE, so back in business as of today, after default to domestic RNE relay fillers. YL`s program, didn`t catch title, said it was the first one in three months. In Spanish. Unfortunately I was distracted after 2200, but by 2245 recheck REE is in French on 9690 VG, 11940 good, 11670 VP, and 12030 missing --- so English probably also resumed at 2200-2230 (M/W/F). That`s soon confirmed as I check the WOR iog: Alan Roe, Teddington UK, said at 2121: ``The REE programme guide on their website at https://www.rtve.es/radio/radio-exterior/programacion/ has today (1 June) changed to show programming in English from 1 June (at 2200, French at 2230 and Portuguese at 2300 UT). If confirmed shortly, then that will be a welcome return to shortwave of these language services following the disruption caused by Covid-19. Scheduled frequencies are 9690, 11670, 11940 and 12030 kHz (12030 not currently audible here (2115 UT - may be off air at present).`` And he follows up at 2207: ``REE English language service confirmed back on-air at 2200 on 1 June on 9690, 11670 & 11940 kHz, with a short introduction by Justin Coe and Alison Hughes remembering lost colleagues at REE and playing Requiem music.`` Harold Frodge, MI, adds at 2210: 11940 VGood at 2200, 11670 fair & only a tone on 12030. 9690 best. At 2205 running Requiem by Francisco Guererro`` I want to hear that. REE`s huge podcast archive has not yet added the latest #2162, since 14 March, tnx to direct link in the WOR Hitlist: https://www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/emision-en-ingles/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2036 monitoring: confirmed UT Tue June 2 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, poor S7-S9, but good via UTwente altho with its local click/buzz QRM problem. Next: 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [off air last week] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Terry Colgan, Austin TX, who sent a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, June 2 at 0046, WLCR via WBCQ-6, June 2 at 0046 is back on in Brazuguese, only S8 to S9+10 offbeam here. Guess they rerefixed the ring around the tube socket thingie, but for how long? Was not on earlier June 1. As of 0325 UT June 2, no AW twits about this yet, since the last one May 31 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7489.98 approx., UT Tue June 2 at 0051, the unique Spanish accent of Bill Tilford during FTIOM on WBCQ-1; with BFO can tell the carrier is unstable. Good signal level by this hour. Nothing on 6160v or 5130 now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7520, June 2 at 0050, Brother Scare is here now at S9+50 via WWCR-4. Wacko stuff about HAARP causing earthquaxe. On the transmitter sked expiring May 31, the only one yet visible, 7520 was available 00-02 UT but preferable totally blank programming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0414 UT June 2

 WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST
My latest Hitlist update. http://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm 1) Belgium - R Onda: Added links to this station 2) Madagascar - Madagascar World Voice: Added links for MWV 3) USA - KNLS: Updated home and freq links to point to World Christian Broadcasting web site 4) Vatican - R Vaticana: Updated links to frequencies (thanks to Mike Terry in WOR iog) Unless there's a major change anywhere, the next update will be late June. Best wishes and 73 (Alan Roe, May 31) ** BRAZIL.. 9666.650V, June 1 at 0545, JBA carrier from presumed RVM always off-frequency and varying considerably. Last night was stronger with music but did not get a precise fix on it, I think on the minus side of 9666. Also seems to be the only ZY left on 31m, at least overnight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 13160, June 1 at 1359, S5-S7, pop song to ToH timesignal and off 1400*; another listed CNR1 jammer and SOH frequency, but no sign of the victim. No others in the area (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, June 1 at 0556, RHC again absent from this English frequency after 0500, and suspect also absent for Spanish before 0500. Remainders: 6145 S9+20 and suptorted; 6100 S9+40 suptorted; 6000 S9+20 and distorted during music show. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Bob Biermann replies to my 89.1 Oasis Network log: ``Non coms can use any means to feed a non commercial translator. You can even rebroadcast a station from thousands of miles away.`` Which is what 88.3 had been doing; well, hundreds (Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** U K [non]. 9745V, June 1 at 0550, poor in African language, unstable frequency. Listed as BBC Hausa via AUSTRIA; but maybe substitute site as Ivo reported some Moosbrunns missing. Unlikely Bahrain listed 24 hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K [non]. 9455, UT Mon June 1 at 0100, WRMI with Radio Emma Toc, as scheduled now for a few weeks but failed to appear; so first time I`ve heard it. This is the second monthly broadcast. Only a few minutes at first about the 2MT story, to be continued, etc., etc. 0116 excerpt from Wavescan; 0123 about numbers stations such as Lincolnshire Poacher. Several times refers to own website for linx to more about segments --- but there aren`t any! https://www.emmatoc.org/worldservice At least it explain the strange name, which was certainly a poor choice for fonetix: ``Footnote: Why 'Emma Toc' ...? The wireless station was required to read out their allocated callsign '2MT' at regular intervals, & in 1922 the British Army phonetic alphabet of the time was used. 'M' was 'Emma' & 'T' was 'Toc', so '2MT' became 'Two Emma Toc'. The amusing & flippant manner in which Captain Peter Eckersley read out the phonetic version of '2MT' resulted in the station being affectionately known as 'Two Emma Toc'!`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2036 monitoring via Rochester NY KiwiSDR: confirmed UT Monday June 1 at 0130 & 0230 on WRMI 7780, good; 0300.5 on Area 51 via WBCQ 5130, good; 0330 on WRMI 9955, not audible there, but in Colombia atop jamming except during some deep fades. Also confirmed on WRN webcast at 0130. Also confirmed Monday June 1 from 1800:45 or so on IRRS via ???? 7290, monitored on UTwente SDR, VG but usual AACI splatter from 7280/7300? However, off to a rough start: tune-in 1755 only signal is VG Qur`an from Iran, 1756 VIRI Italian opening as ``Radio Italia`` at 1750-1820 on 5925, where it is supposed to be. Heavy collision once IRRS carrier on *1758, making rippling SAH; 1759 bits of music on and off, 1800 IRRS sign-on with Milano PO Box and phone number only; FSN Washington headlines; still clashing as WOR opens, but Iran cut off about 1801:30* and we are in clear past 1829, only the low ``RTTY`` undercurrent also audible. Something`s always SNAFU at Sirjan. Next: 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [off air last week] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Terry Colgan, Austin TX, who sent a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7490.0, May 31 at 2307, WBCQ closer to nominal than usual, S9+25 fading to S7, during Harry Shearer`s `Le Show` --- I would like to hear this every week but the scheduling is very inconvenient, up against 60 Minutes. Modulation is unusually muffled. Topic is how Amazon sends out promotion to TV stations disguised as ``news``, including to OK`s own KOCO. All other `BCQ frequencies are OFF, or inaudible, including the SS on 9330 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5985, June 1 at 0558, Qur`an --- what`s this, new frequency for Algeria via France? Had just heard that on 6125 and 7595 but now they are off. Soon to WRMI canned ID and off 0600*. O yeah, WRMI runs 5985 this late only on UT Mondays with Yeshua show, who probably would not be qool with Qur`an from the World Music fill reel. This WRMI-2 is the only one on the odd azimuth of 222 degrees to Central America, primarily for NHK relay at 0400-0430, also various gospel huxters or DX programs at 0330-0400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5890, June 1 at 0600, WWCR-4 is on not only with dead air but TOM modulation, // 3215 while 4840 has something else altho both supposed to be Overcomer ``Ministy`` or ``Ministries``, while correct word is ``Ministry``. WWCR website only shows transmitter sked expiring May 31, while June 1 is a normal changeover date, so maybe now 5890 intentionally on. Anyway the transmitter skeds covering 24 hours each are only what`s *available*, (5890 at 02-12), not axual usage. For that we need to see the new June pdf program skeds; while May still shows nothing on 5890 except 02-04 UT Tue-Sat non-TOM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17775-, June 1 at 1442 at first no signal from KVOH but then a JBA carrier; 1904 recheck, definitely on to S9+20 but undermodulated, and in English! not Spanish, about God and COVID-19. May I suggest that the Omnipotent one could eliminate it, poof! if enough believers beg It to (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Local scratchy noise blob survey May 31 after 2300, approx. ranges, peaking not necessarily right in their middles: 6878-7000, 7340-7365, 7680-7730, [8-9 not checked], 9125-9155, 9480-9530, 9830-9885, 10190-10240; the top one weak and none audible higher. Next check at 0543 June 1, still there around approx. 7350, 7705, 9500, 9855. OG&E is searching them out Monday morning/noon June 1. No confirmation yet that he found the source, but seem to be gone by 1900, leaving only general buzz noise level across the bands (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1927 UT June 1

Sunday, May 31 2020
** OKLAHOMA. 89.1-WBFM, May 30 at 2014 UT, 205-watt H&V Enid translator K206CA surprising with gospel song in Spanish, 2017 back to English. Noticed as I am bandscanning futilely for sporadic E DX. This is the Oasis Network, primary KNYD 90.5 Tulsa market, 80/80 kW Broken Arrow. But it can`t be an off-air pickup due to our semi-local on 90.5, KBVV Goltry. Oasis is also on 88.1, 0/50 kW KMSI Moore, more audible here vs KWOU Woodward. There is not a word of Spanish on the Oasis website, unless they be the names of founder David Ingles, depending on how he pronounce them, but his music is in English (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 88.3-WBFM, May 30 at 2015 UT, 250-watt Enid translator K202BY, is spreading out between 87.7 and 88.9 on the DX-398 as I attempt to check ``open`` frequencies for sporadic E DX. WTFDA FM database still has this as a Family Radio satellator of KEBR 88.1 in California! Despite my first report Feb 1 of transfer on the air to KJIL 99.1 Copeland KS, as in ``Jesus Is Love``. Normally it only ruins adjacents 88.1 and 88.5 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SAO TOME E PRINCIPE. 9830, May 31 at 0634, African language under NSS RTTY: it`s DW in Hausa relay at 0630-0700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, May 30 at 2203, no signal from VOT English to us, just NSS RTTY. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Local noise blob has fortuitously drifted upward so that only its edge barely bother 9830 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 475.09-CW kHz, May 31 at 0636 UT, Dave Frantz has resumed his very slow Morse code beacon at WWRB Manchester TN, ``WA4SZE COM WA4SZE/BEACON``. I tune past here almost every night, and last time heard was December 10, 2019 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 18150-USB, May 30 at 2200, KJ4BJ, ham in Tennessee in contact with 9Z4AH in Trinidad, unheard. QRZ.com shows antennas and ``KJ4BJ USA flag USA, ROBERT J JORDAN, DAYTON, TN 37321 USA`` at https://www.qrz.com/lookup/kj4bz Sporadic E opening; can`t compare to 15825 WWCR Nashville, which has just gone off, but 13845 is very poor. Dayton is 110 miles ESE of Nashville, roughly between Chattanooga and Knoxville; and site of the infamous ``monkey trial``. 18160-USB, May 30 at 2207, KJ4BJ has QSYed to here, contacting JBA HP9SAM in Panamá; only activity on the band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28433-USB, May 31 at 1824, good steady ham signal discussing tubes etc. with unheard contact, no calls, overs or beeps, but finally closing at 1833 as ``W6SCC, 10-3``. So sporadic E from California? No: ``W6SCC USA Guy B Coleman, Tucson, AZ 85745 USA``. Mentioned hearing close Colorado on 10m, mode Es? Certainly. Now there is a 70+ MHz MUF over New Mexico or so. Seemed the OSOB until: 28380-USB, May 31 at 1834, even stronger unID ham, S9+20 discussing 10-10 net`s declining membership (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2036 monitoring: still no confirmation from Ivo or anyone of Saturday 1300 on 15770 WRMI; but at least this has finally been entered on the WRMI skedgrid. Confirmed UT Sunday May 31 at 0300 on WRMI 5800, VG S9+10/20. Next nominal airing at 0315 UT Sun on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, much delayed due to open-ended durations of various preceding hamshows: good signal at Indiana SDR, first check at 0302, TWIAR, and then Houston AMSAT; 0402 ARRL news; but WOR in progress at 0427 about 16 minutes into so must have started circa 0411. Next: 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 5130v Area 51 or 6160v to WSW 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed] to SSE 0900 UT Monday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 whence? to WNW 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [off air last week] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Terry Colgan, Austin TX, who sent a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, UT Sun May 31 at 0017, WTWW-2 with `Theatre Organ [NOT] In The Ozarx`, in progress, S9+30/40! but suppressed/distorted = suptorted modulation. Probably would be in good clear $ tereo on webcast, but not convenient to access. Last week this show never appeared during 2-hour window (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VIETNAM [non]. 7315, May 31 at 0008, VOV English relay is S9+10 but just barely modulated; WHRI transmitter ailing? Or no one turning up the volume (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3, May 31 at 0619 UT, single-letter beacon A is JBA in noise level, every dekasecond. Altho a reliable source has assured us it is not heard as a local signal in Quartzsite AZ, I see in classaxe.com it is still placed in Quartzite [sic] with a period of 10.14 seconds, last logged by anyone there 2020-08-05. QZ is about 17 miles from the CA border on I-10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4875-USB, May 31 at 0021, two tactical calls also exchanging uteblaap traffic, fonetikaly: 40W and ZPM; seems like there has been a MARS net here? No QRM from the 4875 ZY, too early? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1955 UT May 31

** CHINA. 13550, May 30 at 1508, JBA carrier, probably a CNR1 jammer against Sound of Hope as in Aoki/NDXC; no full WOOB survey today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6060, May 30 at 0528, once again what is often the best modulated and signaled RHC English frequency after 0500 is absent; still on 6100 > 6145 > 6000 in decreasing order of audibility. And today 5040 is in correct language, English instead of Spanish, but always with that squeal. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 12200, May 30 at 0535, JBA algo presumed RHC English 2 x 6100 harmonic. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 7390, May 30 at 0523, French with self-imposed beepery QRM --- this hour is RFI itself via Issoudun; meanwhile both ALGERIA relay frequencies, 7295 and 6125 are without the beepery which usually is to be heard upon 7295; so they must have swapped the defective transmitter around (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 11730, May 30 at 0539, VP S1-S2 news in AmeriEnglish, VOA? 0540 switches to French mentioning ``nouvelles catholiques``? So Vatican, maybe via Madagascar. NO, it`s the French half hour of NHK via Issoudun -- of course, defaulting to English news at the outset (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 13575.047, May 30 at 1427, S3-S5 Chinesish talk. It`s RFA in Cantonese this hour only via TINIAN, typically askew. Altho Aoki says it`s *jammed, no sign of that. The ChiCom are not so eager to bother to block broadcasts in insignificant minolity ranguages (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2036 monitoring: awake by 1155 UT Saturday May 30, I hasten to check 9955 whether WOR still be at 1130 on WRMI. NO, replaced by some gospel huxtress, outro as Jack Van Impe show with address in Troy, Michigan. WRMI skedgrid shows this is supposed to be on SUNDAYS at this hour, so mistake, or now both? BTW, I had not noticed that JVI died January 18 this year: https://friendlyatheist.patheos.com/2020/01/19/jack-van-impe-an-apocalyptic-televangelist-has-died/ But like so many other gospel huxters is embarking on a post-mortem career, tho in the few minutes I only heard her, his widow Rexella (how`s that for a gender-busting monicker?)? WOR may have been gone previously from this slot as I have not checked it every week. Next: 1300 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE [I dozed thru 1330 so awaiting confirmation from Ivo or someone] 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; last week: 0357-] 0300 UT Sunday WRMI 5800 to SSE 0900 UT Sunday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 0130 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 5130v Area 51 or 6160v to WSW 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [jammed] to SSE 0900 UT Monday Unique Radio NSW 3210-USB 1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 whence? to WNW 594-Italy 0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW [off air last week] 0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Terry Colgan, Austin TX, who sent a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. I wonder what the problem be now, same as before disabling it for a biweek until a biday revival, or something new? Or is there absolutely no propagation this early? Recheck at 1825, now it`s on at S9-S6 but undermodulated. There is lots of sporadic E across the eastern half of USA, very little across the western (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7665-7725, peaking 7700, 9830-9870 peaking 9850, May 30 at 1425, and also circa 9490 at 1435, local noise blobs have shifted slightly upward by 20-30 kHz (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 15825 & 13845, May 30 at 1530 onwards, WWCRs are getting sporadic E boost well above normal JBA level. 6m Es DX MAP shows heavy openings across eastern USA, but only a few spots barely exceeding 88 MHz, i.e. into the FMBC band; normally I need more than that to make it worth checking here. Below that, however, lots of CB channels have pileups and hets from all those off-frequency AM units, checked at 1830 May 30: 27025, 27085, 27135, 27165 (``eastern Iowa; south shore of Lake Erie``); NOT 27185! Also 27205, 27215, 27285, 27295, 27345; and in LSB not USB: 27385, 27395, 27575. 11m CB can really be hopping, yet hardly any activity on 10 or 15m hambands. At 1835-1847 I perform a full bandscan of 30-51 MHz, and hear not a single voice, just tones/birdies here and there probably out of local computers. This on the R75, but no VHF antenna, just the HF/MF/LF longwire, which nevertheless previously succeeded in grasping some 6m phone USB ham DX from Mexico. I suspect the 30-50 MHz band be very underutilized these days for local 2-way (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1946 UT May 30
