Hauser
Hi Glenn

My latest Hitlist update.
https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm

1) Updated UTC offsets for New Zealand
2) France - RFI: Updated links (due to redesign of RFI website)
3) France - TDF: Updated link to TDF Transmission schedule for A20
4) Germany - MBR: Updated link to MBR Operational schedule for A20
5) New Zealand - RNZ: Relabelled RNZ International to read RNZ Pacific

Unless there's a major change anywhere, the next update will be late June.

Best wishes and 73
Alan Roe

THE BIG THREE FREQUENCY REFERENCES

now available for A-20. I recommend consulting them individually
rather than depending on aggregators which may be delayed:
http://www.eibispace.de/dx/freq-a20.txt
http://www1.s2.starcat.ne.jp/ndxc/pc/nd/nxa20.zip
http://www.hfcc.org/data/a20/a20allx2.zip

EiBi also available in a sort by time:
http://www.eibispace.de/dx/bc-a20.txt
NDXC also pending direct Perseus less-detailed text version via:
http://www1.s2.starcat.ne.jp/ndxc/
HFCC also available by broadcasters and FMOs, time order via:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/a20/

** CUBA. 5025, April 4 at 0536, Radio Rebelde music is suptorted, as
it has been all evening, as often the case. Something`s always wrong
at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6145 & 6000, April 4 at 0534, RHC English equally weak and
just barely modulated, while // 6060 & 6100 are both much stronger and
well-modulated. 5040, last of The Cuban Five, is strong & loud enough,
but with constant squeal and mush.

Also, a JBA carrier on 6230, probably leapfrog mixing product of 6060
over 6145 another 85 kHz beyond. Something`s always wrong at RHC. BTW,
I am assuming that there is no longer an English hour at 07-08, tho
not awake that late to check; with only a fraxion of the Five
remaining on at 06-07 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, April 4 at 1526, RHC S9+10 but horribly distorted, as
this transmitter has been for many weeks now; have they no shame; or
no way to fix it? Or substitute another unit? Plenty are available
mid-day. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 255-MCW kHz, April 4 at 0549 UT, no signal from SW, the
25-watt NDB at nearby Stillwater, which had been one of our most
constantly reliable, day and night by groundwave. 341 kHz, EI, Enid
also remains gone. Ditto at midday 1800 UT; only ones audible are 350
RG OKC, which is sometimes missing; and much stronger 515 PN Ponca
City which is never missing but sometimes chripy (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SAIPAN [and non]. 11985.037, April 4 at 1531, JBA talk in Korean,
off frequency, immediately suggesting it`s USAGM Saipan, one of its
most off-capable sites, along with São Tomé. HFCC confirms Saipan,
A-20 now running 1500-1900.

9910.036, April 4 at 1537, another off-frequency Korean, bet it`s the
same. Not in HFCC of March 30 but yes in Aoki/NDXC April 4 as another
RFA Korean from Agignan Point MRA = SAIPAN at 1500-1700.

Altho transmitters might drift, you`d think there would be a simple
vernier ``fine tuning`` to adjust frequencies, if anyone cared.
Something`s always shifty at Saipan. One more:

11675, April 4 at 1534, Chinese with fast SAH from second transmitter.
Yep, Aoki has this as RFA SAIPAN, this hour only, *jammed by CNR1; and
we certainly know which one is askew without trying to separate them.
Next hour 16-17 in Uyghur for the brainwashed switches to Tinian,
probably not so off, or at least differing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 9955, April 4 at 1536, WRMI dead air but it`s
just a pause in TOMBS, as this frequency has been extended on
Saturdays only until 1600 in order to diffuse the *live* Overcomer
Sabbath services, also running 1400-1600 on *nine* other WRMI
transmitters! Is he still inviting girls onstage to grope them? Hard
to tell on the radio, but BS may be confident he`s staying out of jail
as charges against him have still not been resolved. Sabbath? as if a
deity really cared which day it`s worshiped, weeks being totally
artificial human constructs; just as gods are (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 8764-USB, April 4 at 1540, robot male voice with marine
weather, nothing but seas in feet, winds in knots, forecasts thru next
Wednesday. This is a USCG frequency shared among NMO Honolulu, NMC
Point Reyes and NMN Chesapeake VA on a complex schedule, NMN starting
at 1530 per EiBi. Somewhat distorted but has been worse, poor S5-S8
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: unavoidably awake
Saturday April 4 at 1130, confirmed on WRMI 9955, S9 with pulse
jamming. Slept thru Sat 1300 on WRMI 15770; awaiting Ivo`s report.

** U S A. 17775-, Saturday April 4 at 1524, no signal from KVOH, maybe
on but zero propagation. Trying to confirm where `Wavescan` is really
airing as scheduled. Recheck at 1800, certainly on now in
Saturday-only English, off-frequency minus (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS
fully updated for A-20 and DST seasons:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, April 3 at 2113, the ``Italian`` hour of RAE
via WRMI has W&M in French discussion, presumably substitute for real
programming; 2116 music break; 2118 into English with Fernando
recording from home, always off-the-cuff but maybe same thing we have
heard before; music, at 2123 over to Chinese YL, as presumably they
are running thru all 8 languages during the hour (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 13605, April 3 at 1429, almost a week into A-20,
now some jamming is becoming audible vs Radio Martí, and there is
still some residual jamming on ex-13820 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CZECHIA [non]. 5800, April 4 at 0159, Radio Prague closing in
English, WRMI Spanish ID, 0200 a minute of music in English until cut
off the air at 0201*. System H sked shows RPI English daily 0130 also
on 9395.

That`s where Radio Tirana used to be, but why bother if they can`t get
their new English programs (if any?) to WRMI. Furthermore, the only
time left for Tirana, 2030 on 15770, now shows Mon-Thu only, no longer
Sat as I had recently mentioned, that replaced by something else. See
next TAIWAN [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, April 4 at 0204, pirate music at S9+10,
0207 YL ID with bowling ball SFX, ``Ballsmacker Radio, 69-60-AM``. New
website is https://ballsmacker.net/ from ``somewhere in the
northeast``. More logs here:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65023.0.html
After checking other bands, by 0220 this one is off (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 4176-USB, April 4 at 0213, rock music, 0215 DJ hard
to copy but mentions Mix Radio doing something; ``under the stars``
which points to previous log of X-FM on 4175-USB. 0220 ``This is the
Pirate Radio Relay League`` with beeps and off at 0221*. More logs:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65029.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6965-AM, April 4 at 0222, JBA carrier not noticed
earlier with Ballsmacker on 6960. No FRW logs of this one (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6934.9-AM, April 4 at 0223, JBA music, seems a bit
more mod on LSB than USB, and the carrier may be reduced. Off by 0227.
Some logs here say it was Captain Morgan Shortwave, 6934.86:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,65027.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. As if we don`t have enough problems already, earthquaxe
are hitting Enid, two of them this Friday. First a brief shake at
2235:39 UT. USGS soon showed but kept revising it; take your pick:

https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/

M 3.9 - 15km E of Enid, Oklahoma
IV DYFI? [did you feel it? --- yes!]
Time 2020-04-03 22:35:30 (UTC)
Location 36.379°N 97.721°W
Depth 1.1 km

M 3.7 - 15km E of Enid, Oklahoma
VI DYFI?
Time 2020-04-03 22:35:29 (UTC)
Location 36.374°N 97.721°W
Depth 5.0 km

M 3.6
15km E of Enid, Oklahoma
2020-04-03 22:35:29 (UTC)
5.0 km deep

The second one, a heftier shock just as I am writing this report: UT
Sat April 4 at 0333:16 UT. First USGS report says:

3.8
14km E of Enid, Oklahoma
2020-04-04 03:33:08 (UTC)
3.4 km

M 3.8 - 14km E of Enid, Oklahoma
Time 2020-04-04 03:33:08 (UTC)
Location 36.374°N 97.721°W
Depth 3.4 km

And as I am watching it, changes to:

M 4.0
14km E of Enid, Oklahoma
2020-04-04 03:33:08 (UTC)
1.2 km

By final recheck at 0413 UT:
M 3.7
14km E of Enid, Oklahoma
2020-04-04 03:33:08 (UTC)
5.0 km

Note that by my WWV timing there have been delays of 8-10 seconds from
epicenter 14-15 km away, to hitting here. About 1 second margin of
error. That`s equivalent to 1 mile per second, or 3600 mph.

Furthermore, our quaxe are the only ones on the recent map anywhere in
central or eastern USA! OK had been relatively quiet with crackdowns
on fracking. No RF effects noted, but by prerogative I include local
EQ reports with my logs (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** SWAZILAND. 9585, April 3 at 1453, TWR IS & ID, immediately
recognizable music-box even tho only S1, in the Malgache service about
to start. Or rather as described under SOUTH AFRICA in WRTH 2020 page
489: ```Last bar of `We`ve a Story to Tell the Nations``, played on
hand bells``` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TAIWAN [non]. 9395 >> // 7780 // 5010, UT Sat April 4 at 0201,
following WORLD OF RADIO on the last two: Radio Taiwán Internacional
replaying for the n-th time the special test in Spanish of 18 March.
Presumably by April 6 there will be new shows each night. WRMI System
H sked claims this is on 5010 & 5800! But 5800 had just turned off as
at CZECHIA [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 3 at 2206, another bust by VOT English to North
America -- nothing but RTTY from NAU PR; and still no VOT at 2225.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: confirmed first US
SWBC, Friday April 3 at 2200 on WRMI 9955; S9 but rating only
poor-fair, without jamming just general noise level and fading.

Also confirmed UT Saturday April 4 at 0130 on WRMIs first all via
Alexandria KiwiSDR, 5010, 7780, 5850; At 0144 here, 7780 = 5010 both
poor, and 5850 VG S9+30/40. Next:

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search April 3 at 0536 for
the next few minutes; method: 100-foot E-W longwire into R-75 set at
9-kHz steps, tuning USB 1 kHz below each frequency to detect 1 kHz
het, however weak. Preamps off to minimize overload on MW.

531, 549, 558(2), 603, 612, 621, 657*, 684+, 693(2), 711*, 729, 747,
774(2), 837, 882, 891**, 909, 936(2), 1026, 1044, 1098, 1107, 1116,
1125(2), 1134, 1152, 1179, 1215, 1296, 1305(2), 1314, 1422, 1476,
1503, 1539, 1566, 1575.

*657 is unusual, probably Spain or Italy, usually blocked by WSCR
IBOC; a bit of auroral weakening it, or off? As 710.0 unusually
dominated by the on-frequency Rebelde, and yes still with that carrier
on 711 which is not TA; no beat on it detected this time. **891
strongest of all, no doubt Algeria. (2)=at least two carriers beating
a few Hz apart (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
