Thanks this week for financial support from Adrian Micallef, Marsa, Malta for a contribution not originally in US funds via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com and says: ``I thank you for all the valuable work you do. I listen to most of your broadcasts and read all the e mails, I find them very useful. I listen every Saturday via WRMI 15770 kHz at 2230 UT; mostly it's fine reception here in Malta. Glad I can be of help. Thanks again for your work``
One may also contribute via money order or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5890, Thu Aug 14 at 0655, S9+25 deadair except for some hum, from WWCR-4 which is supposed to be off all-night; last logged Aug 5 at 0653 which was Tue. Also reactivates leapfrog over 5935 onto 5980; and various spurs between 5880/5900. WWCR profits are way down, so burning juice for nothing is not a good business strategy. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1120 kHz, Thu Aug 14 at 0712, also before 0700, KMOX St Louis with very annoying talkhost I`ve run across before - always complaining about something. And then in bandscan I hear the same a few sex delayed on WCCO 830. Who is he? Checking the ``complete`` program skeds via Audacy. I see no match between KMOX and WCCO at those hours; in fact, WCCO has Twins baseball before and after midnight?! Then I realize that the skeds displayed are in UT! Wow, how convenient? That`s because my computer runs on UT. But station skeds should always be in local time of whatever unless explicitly labeled UT which would baffle most non-SWLs. There is a match for this: KMOX 5-8 am The Other Side of Midnight, no host specified, but listening to opening sounds like ``Lionel``. And: WCCO 5-9 am TOSOM with Frank Morano Which is it? So beware, if you look up a program sked for any Audacy station, times will automatically match your computer clock (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1450 kHz, Aug 14 at 0708 UT going from Fox `news` to Warrensburg weather, ``Goodtime Oldies, 1450 KOKO`` - that`s Missouri briefly atop graveyard, not too far from here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. Re my FM DX report Aug 12: ``I'll bet your 95.1 is WRNS. Rick Shaftan, Rodanthe, Hatteras Island NC, FM25go`` - That is per WTFDA FMDB: ``WRNS-FM 95.1 KINSTON NC 100.0 kW 459.0 m 35-06-15 77-20-12 82F0 Your Country 95.1 WRNS Onlline at WRNS.com YOUR COUNTRY 95.1 WRNS 36950`` I guess he refer to my unID log at 1604 UT of C&W, rather than rock at 1557; later I had SC and FL stations on 95.1. But at the unID 95.1 hours I was not getting any other NCs. Kinston is south of Greenville & Grimesland in eastern NC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VANUATU. 9960, Aug 14 at 0659, NO signal from R. Vanuatu; wonder if had just gone off for a QSY. Otherwise it`s always audible around this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 7235, Aug 14 at 0657 still mystery JBA carrier; standard remarx (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Thursday, August 14 2025
** BRAZIL [and non]. 18150.13 USB, August 13 at 0040, PY5AMF calling CQ with lots of background noise, strange fonetik for M sounds like ``Mikey``, then working KC3VTF in PA quickly, and calling CQ for Northy Dakota, Wisconsin. And other stations, lots of co-channel talkovers. QRZ.com: ``PY5AMF Brazil flag Brazil, (MAR) AMÉLIO ALVES DE MARINS FILHO, RUA SEZINO RAMOS 2097, GUARAGUAÇU - PONTAL DO PARANÁ, PR 83255974, Brazil`` ``KC3VTF USA flag USA, Michael Pentimall, 322 Gilmore Street, Folsom, PA 19033, USA`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 18145 USB, Aug 13 at 0038, VE7WJ calling CQ 17. QRZ.com: ``VE7WJ Canada flag Canada, Allan Campbell Ross, 790 WEST QUEENS ROAD, NORTH VANCOUVER, BC V7N 2L6, Canada`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5025, Aug 13 at 0627, JBA carrier vs HSNL. What`s left of R. Rebelde, must be very underpowered (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13780, Aug 13, 2025 at 2124, Fidel speech, ``Viva la Revolución Cubana``, on his 99th birthday of Aug 13, 1926, only in Spanish this time; first checked 15230 which was S9+10/20 but suptorted unreadable. Congrats! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 USB, Aug 13 at 2158, pirate music earlier in daytime than I would expect, S7/S9 direct. Then talking about Seattle Sam? turn gain down, RF getting into microphone circuit. Sings la-la-la, do-re-mi etc.; country cruisers? and shredded show, Brad Paisley? 2216 still music. These say it`s Thunder Chicken Radio: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,148645.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 1680v, Aug 13 at 0035 UT, Virtual DJ Radio, music with a very unstable carrier as JBA at home, offtuned in USB, while it sounds OK on the AM caradio when I am near it. Also same earlier in afternoon before there would be any skywave QRM (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500 & 15520 are off again, Wed Aug 13 at 2200, but token English from SNR is S9+20/30 direct on 17715 and audible on 15390; starts about the Canary minors/miners problem; 2205 about a Formula One racetrack under construxion 24/7 in Madrid, bothering the neighbors, 5.5 km long to make Madrid a racing capital (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [non]. 11785 & 9875, Aug 13 at 2202, NO signals direct from VOT English: something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Nor at 2226 into UTwente, but a weak 9874.9 which would be Korea North (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28411 USB, Aug 13 at 2207 OSOB is talking about antennas from northern Utah, finally 2212 ID as N7UXA, over to N4RDZ in Onalaska WA for final, unheard here. QRZ.com: N7UXA USA flag USA, Brett R Butler, 623 SOUTH 1580 WEST, Logan, UT 84321, USA, ``JUST AN OLD RAG CHEWING HAM`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2307 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), Antenna: random long wires in the trees. WRMI, World of Radio (#2307), 9455 kHz, 2330-2400 WRMI, 2330, static QRN, jingle yes heard, 2358, August 10 UTC 2025 [Sun] 9395 kHz, 2330, 2355, 2358 (S 6.5) signal, static QRN, 2359, August 12 UTC 2025 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``
Confirmed Tuesday August 12 at 2330 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 3975.001, S9/+10 into UTwente.
Also confirmed UT Wednesday August 13 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+20/30 direct.
Also confirmed Wednesday August 13 at 1954 the 1931 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.001+, S9+5/10 and 3975.001+, S9/+10 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday August 13 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 -112 Hz per NA5B Maryland SDR, S6/S8. Somewhat miscalibrated as WWV 10000 shows -47 Hz, and 15000 -70 Hz
Also confirmed new time Wednesday August 13 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9/+15 into Knoxville SDR. Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.
Thanks this week for financial support by postal MO to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, from Robert W. Gruska, Glendale NY
One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. Re WOR on WRMI scheduled as 9455 at 0930 Saturdays, but not so: ``Hi Glenn, I've heard World of Radio at 0930 Saturdays on 7570 earlier in A25 season. Peter W Hansen``. The transmitter grid shows 7570 WRMI-5 is on System D during that hour. But the System D sked shows 9455 instead. The xmtr sked shows 9455 WRMI-11 on System E = CRR during that hour. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1690, Aug 13 at 0622 UT, `Red Eye Radio` mentioned. NRC AM Log of last year show only RER on 1690 is: WMLB Avondale Estates GA - Atlanta market (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. Nice sporadic E FM DX opening, August 13; I wonder if the Perseids peak encouraged it? All times strictly UT. All heard with my own ears in real time, on caradio with fender vertical antenna only, no recording, no internet access during, but researched later, main reference WTFDA FM Database, or broader searches when necessary. Some are not definite, but I do not count stations, states or anything, rather ID as much as possible FYI. Suggestions and correxions welcome. Distance from/to in km/miles added at end of each, city to city, not site to site, so approximate, and including does not necessarily make a log more definite. Each DX log a potential learning experience.
94.5 at 1555, talk and CCI, and 97.3 song, signs of sporadic E on `open` channels.
92.9 at 1556, South Carolina State University, Orangeburg County mentioned; anti-drug help at 800-485-6307. It`s a mere translator but good fit: W225DB relay of:WPJK-1580 92.9 ORANGEBURG SC 0.25 kW 51.0 m 33-29-55 80-50-33 SPORTS ESPN ORANGEBURG 201535 -- also see at 1600 below. 1582/983

92.9 at 1600, WTJK?, Orangeburg? ID. Must be W225DB relaying WPJK 1580 as above.
94.3 at 1601, $ classical intro Candide Overture, and still for 10-15 minutes. Aside from a xltr in PA, KBYI is the *only* classical listed on 94.3, and sked does show classical at this time, but no playlist. I was not yet aware of a separate opening from ID, see 96.5 below. 94.5 at 1626, YL weather, Z-95, C&W. This is a clear non-ID - or possibly C-95, a bit excessive rounding up from 94.5. Cannot find any correlation anywhere; ideas?
96.5 at 1627, Premier Auto Group for used cars, no -- something, nohype.com In several states, but exactly in Twin Falls ID, to go with: 96.5 at 1629, KMBC? weather center, ``Cool 96.5, !Idaho`s greatest hits of the 80s and 90s`` KLIX-FM 96.5 TWIN FALLS ID 100.0 kW 40.0 m 42-33-05 114-31-02 2DF3 KOOL 96.5 Oldies CLASSIC HITS KOOL SUPER HITS 96.5 FM 3407 I was surprised to be getting a simulopening from way out there 1576/979
96.5 at 1630, CCI from UMBC.edu, Virginia ad. But UMBC is University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Only MD is WCTG, W Pocomoke; Pocomoke is in SE corner far from Balto. Virginia? Only fullpower is WKLR Fort Lee - which is in SE VA, and is or was an army fort, not a town, so why would a commercial station be there?
96.5 at 1632, 912 880-0444 phone, Statesboro golf carts. These correlate with Savannah area, as at 1633, Kix-96, CCI: WJCL-FM 96.5 SAVANNAH GA 100.0 kW 354.0 m 32-03-29 81-20-18 6CAB WJCL Song/Artist - Nash Nights Live - Hit Country KIX96 Country COUNTRY KIX 96 37178 1614/1003
99.1 at 1634, CCI including `tropical` music; at 1639, Spanish announcement, two fast DJs, mentions Guadalajara, sorteo, tamales, other Mexicities; but could still be a UStation. 92.1 at 1650, ``in Lewisville`` sponsor; MUF falling. Presumably WPEH as at 1611 above. Is that the way this Louisville is pronounced? MUF is falling but I stay a while longer:

UNIDENTIFIED. 7235, Aug 13 at 0630, JBA carrier still here. Will an identity ever appear in the major listings? EiBi and Aoki show E Turkistan and Korea N on 7235 but only at very different hours. HFCC, only E Turkistan and Korea S, ditto. A ham could be doing this, but why? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs August 12, 2025 |
|
Wednesday, August 13 2025
** CUBA. 13780, Aug 12 at 2207, this RHC not off the air for a change, but in Portuguese, with continuous undertalk in Spanish - not voice-over translation but must be mixture of two language services. Portuguese at 2200 is supposedly on 15230 but it`s off today and when I have been able to make out any suptorted modulation it`s been in Spanish. Somethings very wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 780, Aug 12 at 0640 UT, trying to hear `Stardate` on WBBM, but QRM from classic rock music. I bet it`s KSPI Stillwater OK, 250-watt daytimer which has cheated before. DF chex to ESE from here. Yes! At 0700 ID for ``Pete 94.3`` KSPI Stillwater. That`s the politically incorrect OSU mascot, ``Pistol Pete`` suggesting firearms are welcome on campus for the next mass shooting incident (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500, Aug 12 at 2158, NAm frequency still AWOL, but 15390, 15520 and best 17715 are on for the 2200 Emisión Sefarad, almost Spanish, no English on Tuesdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, Aug 12 at 2157, 2208 chex, VOT English not on the air direct nor 2225 into UTwente. BUT, not checked until 2229, *is* on accidentalternate 9875.003 into UTwente, S9+20/25, 2230 segment about inventions, then mostly music, 2246 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, 2251 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2254 s/off as if it`s 17620 at 1230. 2254.7 IS, 2256 re-start IS with German IDs; 2300 timesignal 3 seconds slow, and open German, until final chopoff at 2304*, uncovering something else on 9875.008, Korea North, or FEBC? Yay, the Emirler engineer finally woke up. No one at HQ studio noticed anything amiss; if any human whatsoever overseeing the program feed, certainly couldn`t be bothered to turn on a radio and hear what`s there or not. Failed to change frequency from 9875 after the 2030-2125 English. I wonder what were to be heard on 9875 at 2130, when nothing is now scheduled. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. VOA/Greenville developments -- On Aug 11, former Greenville technician Glenn Swiderski tells me: ``The agency allowed Greenville to get two technicians back to work. Also, Kari Lake`s right-hand and the boss of OCB are visiting Greenville next week, to see the station. Lake`s guy is pro-shortwave from what I understand. Also the new (?) 100 kW Continental rig is on site. Good things to come? Who knows. Glenn Swiderski`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Also confirmed Tuesday August 12 at 1400 on WRMI 9955, JBA S3/S5 direct.
Also confirmed Tuesday August 12 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994+, S9 into UTwente. Next:

** U S A. British DX Club has issued an updated Broadcasts in English including a separate schedule of DX programs. Despite WRMI skedgrid showing WOR Sat 0930 on 9455, which I know is not true, this sked shows: ``Sat 0930 WRMI “World of Radio”: 7570`` - not sure where they got that, but needs to be confirmed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17525, Aug 12 at 2203, WMLK not off the air as DEJOM pontificates, S9+10 direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 7656.0, Aug 12 at 0635, open carrier with JBA clix about every 3 seconds. Among several other mystery carriers always ending with ---6, not always relogged. What is this? Whether or not I can also detect the widerband clix depends on the noise level. This one last logged March 24 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. After checking 17525 for WMLK, 17715 for Spain, 17790 for WRMI, and 17880 for CRI, I note several JBA carriers on band, what`s listed in EiBi, Aoki, 2204 UT August 12:
17665, CNR8 17710, nothing listed 17720, nothing listed 17725, nothing listed 15625, KSDA Guam 15920, CNR1 jammer, SOH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs August 10-11-12, 2025 |
|
Tuesday, August 12 2025
** CUBA. 15230, Aug 10 at 2219, RHC is S9/+10 and very suptorted, unreadable; and 13780 is off. Likewise Aug 11 at 2208, but 15230 only S5/S8 direct. Somethings always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 640, Aug 11 at 1403 UT and later, dead air from KWPN Moore - is with ESPN, ``Sports Animal`` like 930 WKY and 98.1 WWLS, whose ID is often heard on both. Not sure to what extent these three be identically programming stupid sports talk. 640 was reported recently to have resumed full power 5/1 kW after an STA; NRC DX News Aug 5: ``Termination of STAs: 640 KWPN OK Moore – Back to licensed operations July 12; STA for low power moot.`` Remodulating at next check after 1600, and not // 98.1. Even at low power it blocked KFI and anything else. 640 was originally OK`s most worthwhile AM channel, WNAD Norman, early `public` radio at OU; eventually replaced by KGOU 106.3 not full power and a few inadequate relays, not including Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 87.9, Aug 11 circa 2050 UT, dead air in $ tereo from LP transmitter somewhere in my neighborhood, idle RF feeder? Rarely have heard any modulation on it but sometimes (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 95.5, Aug 11 circa 2030 UT, very low power pirate/part 15 with country music, stereo pilot, undermodulated and hum, still active, audible only and barely overcoming real distant Okies, within a few blox of intersexion of S Cleveland and W OKGarriott in Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15390 JBA carrier, 17715 S9+10/20, Sun Aug 10 at 2220, REE into UTwente, and still missing from 15500 & 15520. Somethings no good at Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15520, Mon Aug 11 at 2159, this SNR is back on in time for token English after accurate timesignal 2200. Also 15390 and S9+20/30 on 17715 but 15500 for NAm still AWOL. Preview feature to be about 250th anniversary of American Revolution and how Spain supported. 2201 news leads with UN Security Council, except USA, condemning Israel`s plan to take over Gaza completely (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.010-, Sun Aug 10 at 2222, VOT English not off the air, S9+10/20 in `Letterbox` which I already monitored on the 1630 broadcast. 2247 into UTwente when measured, S9+35/45 music. 2253 s/off as if 17620 at 1230, awry at Ankara, 2254 IS to 2256* off just in time to avoid restart in extraneous German (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.004, Aug 11 at 2158, VOT IS & ID, S9+10/20 direct. At 2233 into UTwente when measured, S9+50 in music. 2253 s/off as if 17620 at 1230, awry at Ankara. 2254 IS first notes once and chop 2254.5*, no finesse. Look, the ~55 minutes has lots of music fill, so they could certainly have time to, at least occasionally, at sign-off, mention *all* the few English times and frequencies; obviously it would be *too much trouble* to edit each playback to refer to the axual time and frequency of that very broadcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2307 monitoring: confirmed Sunday August 10 at 2000 on WRN Europe stream. Previous DW show chopped off for ID and WOR on time.
Also confirmed Sunday August 10 at 2100 on WRMI 15770, S8/S9 noisy into UTwente.
Also confirmed Sunday August 10 at 2139 the 2131 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 3975.002- at S9+10/15, and 6160.000+ at S9/+10.
Also confirmed Sunday August 10 at 2300 on WRMI 9395, S9/+10 into Knoxville SDR.
Also confirmed Sunday August 10 at 2330 on WRMI 9455, S9+10/20 into Knoxville SDR.
Also confirmed UT Monday August 11 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+40/45 into S TX SDR.
Also confirmed UT Monday August 11 from 0301 on Area 51 webcast, while WBCQ 5130- was already signing off.
Missed checking Mon Aug 11 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975 & 6160; anyone hear it? Next:
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 2330 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

** U S A. 15150, Aug 11 at 1427, WMLK not off the air again. 17525, Aug 11 at 2206, WMLK back on air with DEJOM, S9+10 direct, gone at next check 2239, no signal into UTwente where it`s aimed, whilst 17790 WRMI audible S5/S7. Registered sked for 17525 is 1730-2230. On May 20 I noted that 17525 had not been heard since March 8. Possibly has been on sometimes but off before 2200 when I usually start monitoring. 9274.999-, Aug 11 at 2306, WMLK`s 3rd frequency is also on with hymn soprano solo, S9/+20 into UTwente. 2307 another to the tune of ``Danny Boy``. 0206 Aug 12, still on huxtering, S9+20/30 into Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
