Laramie, WY TP DX Report Nov 21  View Printable Version
Thursday, November 21 2019

HCDX

Thanks for the reports Paul and Richard. Here, "normal" conditions
prevailed until about 1440UT (big guns with audio, little guns
popping up from time to time), but by 1500UT (30 minutes before local
sunrise) things had gotten very thin indeed.

I notice the auroral zone has fattened up in the last few hours, so I
suspect only the earlier birds got much DX.

best wishes,

Nick

747khz JOIB started producing audio about 1240UTC, but just enough
and mired in noise enough to know I had program audio there but
couldn't tell what it was.

693khz JOAB started producing audio about 1245UTC and there was
enough quality there for at least a brief time to almost tell what
they were saying. WEaker then 774khz JOUB, but less noise and
clearer audio. About 1300UTC, 693khz had fair signal and started
producing some halfway decent audio but with splatter from KGGF but
JOUB Was soon ravaged away by that schlop splatter and faded into
the ether but came back a few minutes later with audio but it wasnt
very understandable.

It's now 1402UTC and I think mostly anything useful has burned off

As for Nov 20th, nadda... I slept in because I was so tired and
didn't get up till 1530UTC

ARMENIA/IRAN This afternoon 16.30 UT on Nov 20 via

http://9k2ra.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/

Kiwi SDR rx in Kuwait noted 10 kHz up today on
6220even kHz S=9+30dB -51dBm strong signal locally of
Persian IRAN INTERNATIONAL TV audio relay via (probably) Yerevan Gavar
site.
13.4 kHz wideband audio block measured in Kuwait remote reception.

But today no IRIB Sirjan Arabic jamming noted at 16.30 UT,
some scrating data noise underneath like STANAG NATO signal.
Even in Europe the scratch jammer is not very strong,
some equal level of IRAN Internat at S=8-9 or -77dBm level.

ARMENIA/IRAN Persian IRAN INTERNATIONAL TV audio relay via
1395 kHz Yerevan Gavar site, and via
6210.000 even kHz, - probably also via Yerevan Gavar relay site
(and jammed-covered by IRIB Arabic Sirjan program on 6210.003 kHz).

Confirms the station ID IRAN INTERNATIONAL, I heard at 21.02 UT
on shortwave 6210 kHz at Kiwi SDR rx in Kuwait

with Kiwi SDR rx net at Kuwait

Between 00.30 and 01.00 UT I checked the IRAN INTERNATIONAL TV
program on 12322H Hotbird 13B signal

against SW 6210 kHz, latter shortwave signal was 39 seconds later than
TV.
http://9k2ra.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/ S=9+40dB or -38dBm signal strength.

against MW 1395 kHz, latter mediumwave signal was 42 seconds later than
TV. S=9+30dB in Mauno's place in Finland.
