Kiribati; while no trans-Atlantic signals are making it. A few nights
ago, 846 was stronger than usual, but never able to pull any audio

few seconds before I could measure it. Nothing comparable among few
week known signals on 16 mb. Most likely it`s VOA Grimesland NC
testing prior to scheduled service on quite different frequency, 17655

** ANTARCTICA [and non?]. 15475.98 RCUSB, Wed Feb 9 not tuned in until
1558, feared too late, but LRA36 still on air with music, VP S3 into
Campo, Brasil SDR, no better at Brasília #2. Still going at 1601, but
1602 QRMed by unID 2-way on 15475.00 USB exactly. Maybe Spanish but so
colloquial I can`t be sure. Then nothing more from LRA36. I wonder if
the 2-wayers and LRA36 are aware of each other. Occasional 2-way
contacts next few minutes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13740, Feb 9 at 2310, S9+25/40 of dead air in Spanish from
RHC. 13680 is off; something`s always wrong at RHC. 13650 is on with
usual Chinese music replacing CRI in Portuguese (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** EGYPT. 9899.605, Feb 9 at 2155, R. Cairo S9+5/15 and suptorted in
English, via Maryland remote tuned to 9900 showing SAM offset -395 Hz,
same as stable direct readout daily from UTwente. Something`s always
egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6920-, February 9 at 0346 from music into ID as
``--- radio station``, then sounds like Russian rock; 0357 hard rock
song sounds with Russian lyrix past hourtop 0403+. Probably R. Pushka
[gun/rifle], I`ve heard previously on this offset frequency slightly
low, maybe from western USA, but no HFU reports of it at this time.
