Hauser
** ALASKA. 11670, Nov 5 at 1440, JBA carrier, so maybe KNLS English be
really here instead of 11760 per its own website; in any event no good
for winter night polar propagation west or east (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 7380, Nov 4 at 2215, RHC English on now, so the ``African``
service stays on same frequency but an hour *earlier* from 2200 than
in A-19, 2300-2400. Since 7380 is off after 2300, probably French and
Portuguese have also been earlied to 2100-2200. No, it`s Arabic and
Portuguese per J-M Aubier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, Nov 5 at 0057, RHC in Spanish as the weekday TV
simulcast of `Mesa Redonda` is now a real hour later, so no more early
English in the 00-01 hour; nor is 6165 on yet. The evening English
span has also shifted an hour later to 0100-0800, as still on in
English at 0724 check only on 6100, VG S9+30; and 6165 undermodulated
S9/+10. I am not saying anything is wrong about this, since it seems
to be an intentional if unpublicized seasonchange
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15370, Nov 5 at 1513, surprised to hear this frequency now so
temprano as it had been a tarde channel only. Replacing 15140 which is
not on, or maybe that closed earlier. 15230 is also on. Now during
`Sonido Cubano` music I also survey what other RHC Spanish frequencies
are still running: 13700 (no spurs), 11760, 9640, 9535; and a JBA
carrier on 6100 which could be Cuba or Asian remnant. At 1601, 13700
is off but 11760, 9640 and 9535 are still on. At 1602 Nov
5, 15370 still on with 11:04 timecheck, 15230 off.

15370, Nov 5 at 1900 recheck, now opening Arabic, ex-1800 on 15140
which is still off. // 11760 but modulation soon cut, and 1901* off.

Tho it was still an all-day frequency yesterday, 15140 is still not on
by 1930 Nov 5, so we`ll see where 2000 English can now be found.
Things are changing day to day as the shakeup develops. See last
report with Jean-Michel Aubier, France, monitoring for November 3.

Strangely, 15370 was carrying the second half of English from 2030 on
both Nov 3 and 4. Jean-Michel Aubier in France observed on Nov 4:

``1900-1930 Arabic 15140
1930-2000 Creole 15140
2000-2100 English 15140
2030-2100 English 15370
2100-2130 Arabic 7380 15140 15370 (3 fréquencies!)
2130-2200 Portuguese 7380 15370
2130-2200 Spanish 9880 (needs to be verified)
2200-2400 Spanish 15370
2200-2300 English 7380
2300-2400 Portuguese 11700

French not heard since Oct 27. Have the broadcasts disappeared? other
frequencies?`` I, gh, wonder if no French could be connected to the
ascension of French department person Tania Hernández to direct the
entire emisora, as reported yesterday; no time to do French programs?

Wolfgang Bueschel says he`s not heard from ailing Arnie with new sked
info, but did his own RHC survey today, q.v., with similar results to
mine (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 6125, Nov 4 at 2331, TV Martí still unjammed here,
ex-5980, where its audio soundtrack appeared months ago, separately
from RADIO Martí frequencies --- but now, it`s always // RM, so no
more TVM to be heard on SW? Now it is // 7355 and 7435 (while jamming
continues on ex-7335 heavy, 7375 lite). At 0057 Nov 5 I notice that
6125 is off, and confirming there is NO jamming; break for antenna
and/or transmitter change? I think 6125 was back a few minutes later
but failed to log it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** FRANCE. 17800, Nov 5 at 1519, JBA YL talking, while 17825 is a JBA
AM carrier, i.e. Issoudun with Mini Transat yacht weather info, still
not in DRM on either. Maybe vital info for the racing contestants but
how many of them have portable DRMs aboard?? So much for a DRM
Consortium publicity stunt (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** JAPAN [non]. 7410, Nov 5 at 0507, NHK English is poor, S8-S9 via
AUSTRIA; higher // are out of question here, 9860 Vatican JBA carrier,
and 11970 France zilch. Radio Japan has only three English SW
broadcasts left, and this may be our best chance, considering the two
bad frequencies no longer Palau at 1400; and 1100 on 11825 via
Singapore (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Nov 4 at 2331, JBA carrier under wall-of-noise jamming
against no Martí which has moved to 6125. That could be Radio Chaski,
as nothing is in HFCC B-19 on 5980 between 2200 and 0200. No carrier
detected at 0006, so maybe closed in the meantime.

I wish Claudio Galaz or someone in South America could confirm the
Chaski cutoff time. You may recall a few years ago when it was later
around 0100 with no CCI, I would track it slipping 5 seconds or so
later from one night to the next, quite fun! Until they would reset
their timer earlier, starting a slipcycle all over again. Now we can
only hope that the incompetent Cuban jammers will turn off 5980 before
RM really comes on at 0600.

Even Cubans in favor of jamming should be livid about the electrical
expense wasted on jamming against nothing; which could be spent on
e.g. improving the diet of the poor population (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [non]. 11610, Nov 5 at 1600, Somali on VOA as mentioned,
S7-S9. It`s 1600-1800, 250 kW, 126 degrees from Woofferton UK, thus
close to off-the-back here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: Richard Langley
now confirms heard on all three 7780 WRMI airings, Sunday Nov 3 at
2130, UT Monday Nov 4 at 0130 & 0230; with some cutoffs.

Following up last report that WOR was underway at 1902 UT Monday
November 4 on IRRS 7290, heard via OH5AE SDR:

I note the time of the mid-break as 1913:30, but that was 14:40 into
the program, so playback must have started more than a minute early at
1858:50 --- hope the transmitter was already on with this input.

And Alan Gale, England reports: ``Hi Glenn, Much to my surprise World
of Radio was broadcast again this evening (Monday) on IRRS 7290 kHz at
1900 UT. I missed the start of the programme but it was on when I
tuned in at 1913 and continued right to the end at 1928, so it looks
like it was the full programme this time. Alan``.

Also confirmed UT Tuesday November 5 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, JBA. Next:
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v [ex-2100] to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 6060, Nov 4 at 2328, WRMI activated new frequency, but poor
S7-S9 in Chinese, music, SMTV ex-5800, ex-4980; and undermodulated
like 5800 was. At 0000 UT Tue Nov 5, seems dead air or maybe JBM; 0002
some talk in English, music, Vietnamese, the off-putting language
mixture of SMTV with no captions. NO RHC reactivated on 6060. WRMI
chose 6060 to further the legacy of RAE which was on 6060
sesquidecades ago, and said would move their Spanish relay hour to
0100 Tue-Sat. At 0056 dead air? 0058 algo JBM; 0100 what? At 0104-0107
I am barely hearing on 6060 Christian hymns, definitely not RAE! 0201
still JBA but probably about to turn off 6060, unless it`s now Iran in
Arabic as scheduled 1730-0230, 500 kW, 289 degrees from Zahedan for
Arabia and North Africa, but likely QRMing WRMI/RAE in Latin America
beyond. BTW, RAE continues hinting they will be getting a new SW
transmitter of their own. Other WRMI monitoring:

5010, Nov 4 at 2329, is on with algo, Fámily Radio?

9395, Nov 4 at 0100, not RAE in English when it has been, but VP M&W
talk. Oldies and BB ID late past 0200, then RAE multi-lingual opening
and theme into English now an hour later. 0256 check Qur`an ---
recognized as part of the WRMI `World Music` fill loop --- I wonder
what genuine Moslems make of this insert -- what is this passage in
mandatory Arabic about? Radio Tirana now scheduled too an hour later
at 0230, but ends early; 0258 WRMI Spanish ID and bit of music, 0259
another ID JBA, 0300, Prague theme opening English.

The WRMI skedgrid, http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs reminds us that XMTR
6, 355 degrees on 9395 runs System G until 0230 including RAE ATTW
English, and from 0230 System H with Tirana, 0300 Prague.

Also, the programs grids mostly in UT, but System G is in EDT/EST,
which accounts for the one-hour-later shift, like always happens with
System B on 9955. Yet System H is in UT, but times are now wrong,
still with Tirana at 0130 and Prague at 0200 (except for music show
pre-emptions on certain days. At least we now have Tirana unscathed at
new 2030 time M-F on 15770, which I have yet to run across.)

This shift may have edged out WORLD OF RADIO, which had been running
at 0130 UT Monday, a day off for Tirana on 9395. Now WOR is not shown
on 9395 at 0130 or 0230, which need to be monitored next week. Should
still be on 7780 at both times.

Also displayed in ET rather than UT are System C, nothing but TOMBS on
all his frequencies. And System L, very incomplete on 9455.

It would be very helpful if someone outside WRMI with plenty of spare
time, could reorganize the WRMI program skedgrids by FREQUENCY,
instead of by System --- so one could pick a frequency and see all the
programming on it in UT ONLY, no matter from what system! But this
could be problematic as the System skeds are not complete nor 100%
accurate. Yet the playback computers must know what they are supposed
to do (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490+, UT Tue Nov 5 at 0000, WBCQ is VP S6-S7, but I can
recognize the intonations of Uncle Bill, so indeed his `Melting Pot`
is getting another play as filler, 25 hours after normal airing, most
of which I missed, but by 0015 I`m hearing it well on webcast. He`s
back at 0100 UT Tue now with his othershow, `From the Isle of Music`
which includes a lot of talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. It`s way too late for a detailed JBA TA MW carrier
bandscan, Nov 5 at 0717, but a few spotchex before dozing: 774 with
beat, presumed Spains; 693, 621; and 846 which I assume is really
Kiritimati TP; rather than low-powers in Denmark, Ireland, Italy;
medium powers but too far into dayside now, Iran, Saudi, UAE, South
Africa (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 1951 UT November 5

WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST UPDATE

Hi Glenn, my latest Hitlist update.
https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm

1) Australia - Reach Beyond: Updated links to frequency and programme
schedules
2) Germany - R Marabu: Updated link to programme pages
3) Spain - REE: Updated link to current frequency schedule
3) USA - VOA: Updated links to frequency and programme pages
4) Updated UTC offset notations (due to summer time changes) for Cuba
and USA

Unless there's a major change anywhere, the next update will be early
December. Best wishes and 73 (Alan Roe, UK, Nov 4)

** ALASKA. 11670, Nov 4 at 1413, I finally get around to checking KNLS
English hour scheduled here for B-19 per HFCC --- ZERO signal; so
maybe it`s really on 11760 buried under Habana as on own sked:
https://www.worldchristian.org/welcome/who-we-are/how-to-listen/

Either way it`s unlikely propagating backward across night path. NOR
as intended westward for E Asia across the dark winter night path.
They should be on 6 or maybe 7 MHz band, propagation 101. The 1200
English is also allegedly on 25m, and the other transmitter on 9665,
without contradixion: can we detect it then? zzz (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** AUSTRALIA. 11874.977, Nov 4 at 1352, South Asian talk,
off-frequency; what`s it? HFCC shows Reach Beyond on 11875 at
1200-1400, 100 kW, 310 degrees in English. So what is it really?
Convoluted B-19 sked via Alan Roe shows this quarter hour only on
Mondays is in Urdu, 1359 closing with a .org address and off after
1400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 362 kHz, Nov 4 at 0649 UT, NDB sending dash and SB. It`s
500 watts from Greater Sudbury, Ont., per dxinfocentre.com

366 kHz, Nov 4 at 0650 UT, dash and YMW, i.e. 500 watts from Maniwaki,
Quebec (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [non]. 13650, Nov 3 at 2320, Chinese music fill instead of
CRI Portuguese via CUBA, but now it`s overmodulated/distorted like so
many other such incompetent Cuban relays. Something`s always wrong at
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15140, Sun Nov 3 at 2009, RHC English confirmed an hour later
than summer, 20-21 UT and still on 15140. ``Ed Newman`` is introducing
a panel discussion at some institute, with big names such as Ricardo
Alarcón, former? foreign minister, etc., two of The Cuban Five (spy
heroes, not frequencies), and Tania Hernández, who is now director of
RHC, rising from the French department. Taking questions from
audience, subject seems to be The Blockade, with usual anti-American
sentiments; in English as long as I listen for a few minutes. Seems
special rather than regular programming, could even be live.

Jean-Michel Aubier, France, elucidates on the WOR iog: ``English is
now at 2000, still on 15140, but also on 15370 from 2030 (?),
frequency which was expected to be in French. At 2030, the programme
is a speech (with translation into English). After, another speech in
Spanish (without translation). Seems to be a special programme
(Mentions of Maduro and Lula Da Silva). Arabic was aired at 1900 on
15140 followed by Creole on 15140 too (both // = live stream)`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 7380, Nov 3 at 2315, RHC is off the frequency which had had
English to ``Africa`` at this late hour in A-19. Then it coincided
with English hour on tropical 5040, but that is now in Spanish; still
slightly off-frequency+plus, 5040.052 and undermodulated at 2322. As
usual however, 5040 English has latened an hour as heard at 0001 Nov 4
repeating the Blockade discussion aired earlier at 2000 on 15140.

So what has become of the second English broadcast of the day? Nothing
now on previous frequencies 9720 or 11880. Could have shifted one hour
*earlier*, opposite of what one would expect post-DST, as in previous
winters to be at 2200-2300 somewhere. Need to search for it then.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** FRANCE. 17800 & 17825, Nov 4 at 1507, JBA AM carriers, as yacht
weather for Mini Transat racers from Gran Canaria to Martinique has
resumed since Nov 2, now on higher band for greater distances from
Issoudun. One of them supposed to be in DRM, but I have AM carriers on
both and too weak to detect DRM noise, surely none as it does not mix
with AM. 1522 quite better at S8 and S7 respectively, YL in French.
Better than 17775 KVOH. There is also supposed to be some English, and
altho registered a full hour, winds up long before then; and maybe
long before Nov 30 if all go well (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** IRAN. 9835, Nov 4 at 1404, S2-S7 carrier with flutter, open or JBM?
At first hoped Malaysia could be back but scheduled at 1320-1420 is
VIRI Sirjan in Russian also USwards (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11540, Nov 4 at 1345, SW Asian music, S3-S5, SAH
from two stations, no doubt the Kurdo-Turco radio war, only active
frequency around here at the moment (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 9985.035, Nov 4 at 1356 song in English,
Carly? 1400 VOA jingle, and Korean, fair-good. Only 9985 is USAGM
scheduled 13-22 UT via SAIPAN: another off-frequency (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 11855.036, Nov 4 at 1347, sounds like S
Asian discussion about Pakistan and Kashmir, S9-S7, 1350 brief bit in
English about same. Aoki/NDXC and HFCC say 11855 this hour only is RFA
Tibetan via SAIPAN; which is typically inexact in frequency (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SPAIN. 774 kHz, Nov 4 at 0554 during JBA TA MW carrier search, this
is strongest and bearing some audio; at 0601 sounds like Castilian
intonation, YL talking and some music; 0628 still talk, 0630
timesignal typical on half-hours from RNE1. Except for some very low
power UKs, the RNE1 synchros on 774 are the only signals in W Europe,
eight of them ranging from 100 kW Valencia down to 10 kW at four
locations, adding up to 270 kW. Since I was hearing a beat, at least
one of them must be slightly off-frequency. 774 is also just about the
best split, near evenly with nothing big on 770, but plenty splash
from 780 WBBM, even tuning LSB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** THAILAND. 9940, Nov 4 at 1403, HSK9 with news in English, S4-S7
with flutter, not very good but better than nothing on the so-called N
American service on 13750 at 0000-0330; 1400-1430 & 1230-1300 on 9940
are for SE Asia/Australia, 250 kW, 132 degrees. No CCI or ACI here,
unlike ex-9390. We should try for the temporary? English at 1300-1315
which is at 55 degrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TIBET [non]. 15745, Nov 4 at 1341, unknown language marred by
modulation drop-outs, S5-S8. Only HFCC/Aoki listee is RFA Bod/Tibetan
via TAJIKISTAN; but no jamming heard here. Off after 1400 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 5960, Nov 3 at 2310, NO signal from VOT English to N
America; but 2331 recheck now it`s on with song, S8-S9; 2352 music, I
guess it`s their nondescript ``interval signal``, from 2356
interrupted about twice a minute for IDs in GERMAN, and sure enough
stays on air with 5+1 timesignal 2.5 seconds late past 0000 UT Nov 4,
and opening German hour, ``Hier ist die Stimme der Türkei``. Don`t
know how much longer stayed on, but often a foulup as German may be
available on their program feed from Ankara to Emirler but NOT
supposed to go on SW at this time. If this ever happen on Saturday
into UT Sunday, will collide with weekly Mighty Farty KBC via Germany,
which is obviously willing to risk it by repeatedly choosing 5960 in
winters (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 379 kHz, Nov 4 at 0652 UT, ND beacon RUE. It`s 25 watts from
Russellville, Arkansas. I was tuned to 380. See also CANADA for two
more (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: WoR on IRRS 7290 kHz
Saturday now --- Alan Gale, England, reports at 1903 UT Sat Nov 2:

``Hi Glenn, [7290 Romania] IRRS has just come on air at 1900 UT, and
the first programme on is World of Radio, so it looks like Saturday
evening is the new slot for your show now``

I reply: ``Alan, Good, but sked does not show it, rather vague:

https://www.nexus.org/member-services/radio-and-tv/schedules/saturday-program-schedule/
May be one of the ``random`` times, so need to see if it continue.``

``Hi Glenn, It seems to be a bit truncated too, it switched to another
programme around 1918 UT. I seem to recall they used to do something
similar once before, and it was mainly in A-19 when it
became a regular in the 1815 - 1845 slot on Mondays. The programme
that followed it tonight was called Global Voice or something like
that, sounded like some sort of podcast. I listen most evenings if I'm
in so I'll keep monitoring it. Alan``

And again on Sunday, from Alan Roe, Teddington UK: ``ITALY [non]. An
unscheduled partial airing of World of Radio being heard today (Sunday
3 November) in progress on tune-in at 1949 UT on 7290 kHz, with items
on China and Cuba and cutting of just before 2000 when IRRS
signed-off. I guess WOR must have started at around 1945``

Configured as it is with unrelated items in alfabetical order, I know
it must be tempting to air fragments of WOR as filler, but I would
rather the show be aired complete or not at all. A little schedule
juggling should find continuous 29-minute slots for it (gh)

Still maladjusting to Standard Time (but which should be always), I
miss checking the Sun 2130 and UT Mon 0130 airings of WOR on WRMI,
which are presumed to continue at the same UTs. Expect soon to have
results of Richard Langley`s regular recording/monitoring of 7780
Sunday evenings.

Confirmed UT Monday November 4 at 0230 WRMI 7780, JBA.

Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 4 starting at 0400 (ex-0300) on Area 51
webcast, and at 0422 check of WBCQ 5130-, S9-S8 but noisy.

Also confirmed UT Mon Nov 4 after 0430 (ex-0330) on WRMI webcast, and
poor S5-S7 at 0446 check of 9955.

Also confirmed Monday Nov 4 at 1902 on IRRS 7290, well underway so
maybe started close to 1900; no connexion to UTwente, so I get to it
via OH5AE SDR in Finland. Need AM Narrow or LSB due to heavy splash
from 7295. Audio is skipping, hope an output rather than input problem
at OH5AE. Hope; assume the whole WOR play at this time. Next:

0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v [ex-2100] to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
[now updated for standard season]
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. 6060, Sun Nov 3 at 2312, NO signal yet from WRMI
as planned from Oct 28, then delayed until Nov 4; and still on 5800 VP
with talk, SMTV? Ex-4980. 0002 Nov 4 recheck, still on 5800 and no
6060. However I do have a JBA carrier on 6060, which per latest HFCC
could be Iran in Arabic, or CNR from CDU site in China (not keyed in
WRTH 2019 tables; Chengdu?).

The open question is whether Arnie will reactivate 6060 for RHC`s
delayed B-19 sked, after unceremoniously dropping it early in the A-19
season. The WRMI skedgrid shows 5800 at 21-24, and 6060 only at 00-02.
The reason for WRMI choosing it is to ``reactivate`` an old General
Pacheco frequency when RAE was direct from Argentina, with the Spanish
relay already retimed to 0100-0200 Tue-Sat, instead of 2200-2300 M-F
on 5010, but in the first week should have been on 5800, when we heard
only dead air. Maybe all this will be sorted out by Nov 4 into UT Nov
5? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490.07, Sunday Nov 3 at 2326, tail end of `Uncle Bill`s
Melting Pot` via WBCQ, S9/+10. Hope like last week he will get a
secret repeat 25 hours later, which now would be 0000 UT Tuesday
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 3215, Sunday November 3 at 2325, very poor open carrier,
S7-S9, presumably WWRB but much weaker than normal. Has always been
unclear what time their weekend-only emissions start; but 2332 recheck
now with hymn, like Hammond organ, and 2336 undermodulated gospel
huxtress. WWRB may now use 3215 until 0200 when WWCR takes over, and
WWRB then shift to 3195 instead of using that only in the first place
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 17775, Nov 4 at 1507, JBA carrier, presumed KVOH now opening
an hour later M-F. Have the Simi Valley fires and power cuts abated?
Program sked still as of Sept 1
http://voiceofhope.com/schedule/kvoh_program_grid.pdf
so not updated for standard time, but DX shows should now be at 1600
UT: M & F Frecuencia al Dia; Sat Wavescan (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1560 & 1520, replies to my log of KGOW and not KYND:

``Glenn, KYND is still off. Haven't heard anything out of them since
September 24. Also KGOW still using its night site during the daytime,
at least all the times I have checked recently (Stephen Luce, Houston,
Texas, 2206 UT Nov 3, WOR iog via DXLD)``

``I don't see anything at the FCC website where KYND has applied for
any type of STA (Special Temporary Authority) to be silent (Bob
Biermann, WRMI, ibid.)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN [non]. 5930, Nov 4 at 1437, undermodulated talk past 1507.
Aoki/NDXC and HFCC show it`s Vatican News/Radio at 1430-1530 in
Hindi/Tamil/Malalayam, 250 kW due west via Tinang, PHILIPPINES;
violating Separation of Church and State (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. TA conditions must be VG, as earlier Mark Connelly in MA
reported Syria ``inbooming`` (where did he get that?) on 783 kHz. Too
late for that now, but at 0550-0600 I decide to perform a JBA MW
carrier search on the R-75 with E/W longwire, and find plenty of them:
531, 549, 558(2), 567, 585(2), 595.9, 621, 639, 684, 693(2), 711, 729,
738, 747, 756, 774(2: See SPAIN), 801, 837, 882, 909, 936(2), 954, 963
(both sides of my 960 local), 999, 1053, 1062, 1089, 1125(2), 1134,
1215, 1305, 1566 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Hauser
** BRAZIL. 10000, Nov 2 at 2229, pips every 10 seconds under WWV, and
confirmed on USB only, not LSB, as from PPE, O.N., Rio (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 15034-USB, Nov 2 at 1836 UT, Trenton Military timecheck as
1735 zulu, no report received from some but not all. Will resumption
of standard time get their clock back in whack? NO! Nov 3 at 1451,
still 61 minutes slow as ``1350 zulu`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CHINA [non]. 15700, Nov 3 at 1447, CRI English via CUBA is S9+20
with good if not full modulation for a change (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13766 & 13633 approx., Sunday Nov 3 at 1442, RHC amid `En
Contacto` at ``sección técnica`` with Arnie, FMish spurblobs out of
13700-AM, but first-order only, none heard further out; and 13740-AM
is also still on. At 1450 transitioning to medical show, also on 15230
suptorted S9. and good modulation on 15140, S9+10/20.

So as a running dog of Yanqui imperialism, matching DST offdate with
Miami gusanos, RHC has made its annual timeshift, the Spanish DX
program at 1435 ex-1335; and which will also affect other Spanish
programming, and many other but not all language broadcasts; also any
significant frequency changes post B-19 for the rest of us should now
start emerging by monitoring if not RHC website skeds still from B-18*
season displayed thru A-19!
http://www.radiohc.cu/interesantes/frecuencias
Something`s always wrong at RHC.

First airing of English should now be at 2000 ex-1900, but still on
15140? Before 1900 Nov 3, 11760 & 15140 both in Spanish; after 1900,
11760 off and 15140 continues in Arabic, ex-1800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11760, Sun Nov 3 at 1501, RHC still in Spanish. 15140 OK //
11760 overmodulation distortion at 1627, RHC in Esperanto, so expected
one-hour-later shift of that weekly language to 1600 is confirmed. Two
other airings will have to be confirmed Sundays circa 0700? 2230? on
whoknowswhat frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 13605, Nov 3 at 1445, wall-of-noise jamming remains
here a week after totally predictable and public B-19 Radio Martí
change to 13820 which is VG unjammed during song in English lyric ``I
know`` over and over. Something`s always wrong at DCJC.

11860 Grimesland VG and weaker // 11930, Nov 3 at 1456, RM ending song
vs no jammings here either, into oft-heard PSA about the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, which the Republic of Cuba sponsored and
ratified at the UN, Dec 10, 1948, dig dig about lack of H.R. in Cuba
since (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** JAPAN [non?]. 9890, Nov 2 at 2224, NHK in Japanese, VG S9/S9+25
peaks. Still hard to believe this be direct from Yamata as scheduled
aimed away from us; rather an eastern relay like Madagascar or Europe;
signal equivalent to 9690 Spain, and as strong or even stronger than
9505 WHRI, 9395/9455/9955 WRMI. No other E Asian signals on band
anything like this (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MADAGASCAR. 11985, Nov 2 at 2127, ``Battle Hymn of the Republic``
on organ, nice rendition if politically incorrect, and VG signal until
2128.5* off with no announcement. B-19 listed as AWR at 2100 in
Nigerian Pidgin, 250 kW, 305 degrees also USward from Talata (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. RF-16, Nov 3 at 1515 UT, routine DTV bandscan finds no
signal from Daystar`s KOCM ``46`` in OKC market; it`s normally weaker,
but seems to be off as everything else is normal, and no tropo DX. Or
underpowered? By 1740 a Bad bar occasionally appears on the STB (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 4775-, Nov 2 at 2329, JBA carrier, also later in evening into
UT Nov 3; R. Tarma was just reported at 2228-2301+ ID by Bruce
Churchill with a good signal on 4774.9 into Iceland SDR, assumed the
new 2 kW transmitter, and no Congonhas; but no better here and still
off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PHILIPPINES. 9335, Nov 2 at 2221, poor signal in Khmer, USAGM via
Tinang, due west. Nothing on 9330 WBCQ (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** SPAIN. 12030, Nov 3 at 1457, REE IS and sign-on for weekend sked,
best here off the back of ME beam tho with some long-path echo, as REE
has never figured out that North America needs a higher full-day
frequency than 9690, which is poor S3-S7 also echoing; first audible
on 11940 to S America also weaker than 12030; and detected on 11685,
new African frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 11815, Nov 3 at 1454, silly ballgame coverage with
enthusiastic crowd noise, S9 but SAH of 5 or 6 Hz. Still gamy at 1500.
It`s VOT in Turkish as now sked 14-17 UT at 310 degrees USward,
overcoming NHK in Japanese at 10-17. Before 1400 TRT is on 15350
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [non]. 15460, Sunday Nov 3 at 1448, African song, good S9-S7.
HFCC shows USAGM, i.e. VOA in Kinyarwanda, via VATICAN Sat & Sun only
1400-1500; violating Separation of Church & State (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also PHILIPPINES

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2006 monitoring: Ivo Ivanov,
Bulgaria reports that none of the Hamburger Lokalradio broadcasts were
on the air this Sat or Sun. Also absent last week. What`s going on? I
have inquired of HLR, but no reply. From website, this ``ticker`` item
implying it is current or late news altho not dated. Does this affect
shortwave?

http://www.hamburger-lokalradio.de/

HLR – Ticker
„Liebe Hörerinnen und Hörer, bedingt durch eine schwere Erkrankung
unseres Chefredakteurs ist der Programmablauf ein wenig anders, als
sie es von uns vielleicht gewohnt sind! Wir bemühen uns aber weiterhin
Ihnen ein hoffentlich unterhaltsames Programm zu präsentieren! Danke
für Ihr Verständnis! Ihr Team vom Hamburger Lokalradio“

translated: "Dear female and male listeners, Due to a serious illness
of our editor in chief, the program is a little different than you may
be used to from us! We are still trying to present you a hopefully
entertaining program! Thank you for your understanding! Your team from
Hamburger Lokalradio". Is this about Herr Kraske? We hope he is
recovering!

New secret WOR broadcast on WRMI 15770, Saturday 1300 since Oct 12:
``Reception of World of Radio#2006 via WRMI-09 on November 2:

https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2019/11/reception-of-world-of-radio2006-via.html
1300-1330 15770 RMI 100 kW / 044 deg to WeEu English Sat, fair``

Not confirmed on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Wentzville MO. Checked at 0330 UT
Sunday November 3, but at 0333 `This Week in Amateur Radio` starts and
runs all the way to 0455 (with ID breaks inserted every dekaminute),
then `Amateur Radio Newsline`, and 0513 `Handi-Ham World`. Maybe WOR
ran earlier around 0300, or really late, or not at all? I`ve asked
Vern, and how early/late WOR could appear because of other
programs/podcasts of variable length. The ones I heard and WOR are not
cited on the outdated? WA0RCR websked. TWIAR`s podcast site
http://twiar.net/?paged=2
shows this week`s duration was supposed to be only 1:09; the weeks
before, 1:22 and 1:33. Note: if 10:15 pm Sat remain the nominal time
for WOR, from next week due to CST instead of CDT that will be 0415 UT
Sunday. Next:

2130 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to NE
0130 UT Monday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 7780 to NE
0230 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to NE
0230 UT Monday WRN webcast & satellite [already last week]
0400vUT Monday WBCQ 5130v Area 51 6160v? [ex-0300] to WSW
0430 UT Monday WRMI 9955 [ex-0330] to SSE
1902 UT Monday IRRS 7290 Romania [ex-1816] to WNW
0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v [ex-2100] to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:

[to be updated shortly for standard season]
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5800, Sat Nov 2 at 2212, WRMI poor S3-S7 in English lexure,
music, presumably SMTV this hour; while 5950 is TOMBS. Ivo Ivanov
reports that as of Nov 3, WRMI is on 6060 ex-5800 at 2100-0200, as
originally planned a week earlier. I did not notice WRMI (or RHC) on
6060 early UT Nov 3. The skedgrid at
http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs
now dated Nov *4* does show XMTR 3 on 6060 at 0000-0200, but still on
5800 at 2100-2400! (Glenn Hauser, OK, Nov 3, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15770, Sun Nov 3 at 1446, WRMI with SMTV, indicating this
frequency will stay on same UT, i.e. variety programming hours still
13-14 & 20-21 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 17775, Sat Nov 2 at 1834, JBA carrier is the OSOB, so seems
despite fires/power outages, KVOH English is on today if not really
propagating (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Nov 3 at 0012 tune-in, WTWW-2 with `Theatre
Organ in the Ozarx` in progress, VG signal, but I immediately bring up
the stereo webcast. Soon obvious it`s an episode heard two or three
times before, Bob Heil with his Johnny Carson story at 0014.

Nice tunes but we are a bit tired of hearing the same ones again and
again. How about something new, like a song you have never heard on
organ or would never expect to? VG audio on webcast until the canned
outro at 0038-0039 with distorted sound. If about 35 minutes long,
must have started circa 0004 UT. Website still claims this show is at
8 pm Saturdays; no timezone, but everything else is expressed in
Central, i.e. UT-5 now, UT-6 henceforth. For a while it was really
starting circa 2330 UT Saturdays. Have not heard TOITO for several
weeks in sporadic chex, but might have missed it; just ham radio
stuff. Of course, TOITO appears here because Heil is also a well-known
ham (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
