A propagation issue? Anyway, 7850 kHz is there today (17 March) when checked here in NB at about 18:50 UTC. -- Richard Langley _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

I had not noticed a signal there, but one on 15350 which would be TRT in Turkish; also at 1425 check, a fast SAH on 11815 which is 15350`s successor after 1400, mixing there with NHK; so lack of 12035 cannot be blamed on propagation. 5960 is another VOT frequency often AWOL, for English at 2300, but it`s present March 16 at 2316 check, S9+10/20 into UTwente. Jeff White replies that it seems like an audio switching error as they have no new programs from PCJ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, March 16 at 1419, world music from WRMI, not Brother Scare; but 1429 ID and 1430 JIP TOMBS, becoming // 9395 & 9455. Sked grid claims BS starts on 9955 at 1400 M-F. This keeps happening, but any reduxion in Brother HyStairical is a good thing. Seems like whenever I tune across him, he`s prompting for phone calls. 9395 is much stronger here than 9455, which doesn`t compute if the respective azimuths really be 355 and 285 degrees, as we are roughly halfway between them. Originally both were on 355, but at some unknown point, 9455 allegedly changed to 285. Even when both were at 355, they sounded unequal. There must be a disparity in the nominal 100 kW powers for all WRMIs and/or in some other parameter(s) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0010 UT March 17 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

** CUBA. 4765, March 16 at 0031:05 open carrier cuts on music as I assume R. Progreso nominally starts now a UT hour earlier for DST; but then mod cuts off and on again. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11880, March 15 at 2222, RHC is on in French, S9+20/30; 2237 check Portuguese; 2301 English. So the 21-23 block to ``Africa`` has been shifted one UT hour later; despite 11880 absence on March 14, the first day of Yanqui DST when checked at 2209 UT. With that bigsig here to the NW, is 11880 really aimed at Africa, where it`s after midnight in most English-speaking countries? HFCC will never know, being boycotted, but Aoki thinx it`s 100 kW at 100 degrees from Bauta. The usual pattern, this broadcast alone shifted one UT hour *later* instead of earlier. But there could be an eventual frequency change after A-21 start, by first or second week of April, depending on circumstances. Also as usual, English at 23-24 again resynchronizes it with // 5040 which has just moved its English one UT hour *earlier*. Is this shift shown on the website? Of course not! Something`s always wrong at RHC. Spanish only, dated effective Nov 17, late for B20: https://www.radiohc.cu/de-interes/frecuencias Undated, including other languages but obviously outdated: https://www.radiohc.cu/de-interes/programacion 6000, March 16 at 0035, RHC already in English, S9/+10 but very undermodulated // 9700 also reading S9/+10 but well modulated for thin-voiced YL, who, unlike ``Ed Newman``, never ad-libs, sounding much louder. Evening English presumably starting on these two only, at nominal 0000. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 15 at 2303, no signal from VOT English into Virginia SDR; is it on but not propagating? No, nothing at UTwente Holland either. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. And yes, with HFCC tentative A21 schedule now public, VOT does plan to resume 9830 when shifted to 2200, oblivious of the RTTY. Other English thisaway: 1230 on 15450; 0300 on 7275 --- like last summer INTRUDING into our hamband, rather than 9515 which might work with uptick in solar cycle. Correxion: This one was really on 420, not 418 kHz; fixed: 420-MCW kHz, March 15 at 0545 UT, ND beacon FQ, 25 watts from Fairmont, Minnesota. I was tuned to 418-USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2077 monitoring: confirmed Monday March 15 at 1900:41.5 on IRRS 7290 Bulgaria via UTwente SDR, good but with inevitable splash from both sides, 7280 Vietnam and 7295 East Turkistan, land of ChiCom genocide. Earlier: *1854:53.5 carrier on with heavy ACI from 7295 but 7280 Vietnam off in a temporary break; 1857:21.5 hum on carrier added; 1859:48.5 modulation cut on with 3 words of a preceding program, and IRRS sign-on with Milano PO Box and phone number; 1900:12.5 three FSN headlines before WOR start. Timings could be slightly earlier vs internet delay. (Correxion factor added to my watch at 2338 when I can`t get any WWV frequency on noisy rx next to the computer, but CHU JBA on 7850-RCUSB.) ** U S A. 4980, March 16 at 0058 no signal from WRMI, nor has there been JBA past few nights whenever checked, not even JBA carrier. You never know what they are doing with this frequency, on transmission skedgrid as Transmitter 4, 160 degrees for Carib/SoAmerica --- but with NO entries the entire 24 hours. Nevertheless had been audible at night with SMTV or something; thought to be very low power, exciter? Current skedgrid does show 4980 below twice more, Argentina relays effective 1 January, M-F 08-09 Japanese, 09-10 Chinese for WNAm and Asia. Maybe, but those two are more effectively shown atop on 9455. But further confusion: the System D/Blue skedgrid says Chinese at 09-10 is on 5950, while Japanese at 08-09 is on 9455 System F/Red! BUT: 5950 Transmitter 8 at 355 degrees on xmsn grid claims to be TOM at this and many other hours. 9455 now #5 at 285 degrees for SW US and Mexico, whatever may really be on it, misses east Asia by long shot. When I first checked tonight at 0058, there were equivalent JBA carriers on 4980 as well as 5060, 4850 and 4500, i.e. the matching quartet of Xinjiang PBS, Urumqi, circa sunrise in East Turkistan, land of ChiCom imperialist genocide. Recheck at 0205, they have all faded out and still no WRMI on 4980 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1090, March 14 at 0507-0509 UT, clip of WENR TN DX test vs KAAY, tuning with R75 passband boosting the LSB, including: phone-off-the-hook, repeated Morse code IDs: VVV DE WENR and upward sweeps; as sent to the CPC with complete original report, for QSL: https://www.w4uvh.net/WENR_1090_DXtest_2021_0314_0507.mp3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0421 UT March 16 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
