``This is the latest information about RHC`s shortwave service. As of
yesterday, broadcasts resumed from the Nauta {sic: Bauta} Center on
transmitters 4 and 5 on frequencies 11760, 15140 and 11950 kHz. We now
have programs on shortwave. The 2:00 a.m. English program, which was
scheduled to air on 6100 kHz, is now being broadcast on 11760 because
there is no antenna for that frequency``
Then I check 15140 at 1846 and get a JBA carrier direct. After 1900
into Georgia? remote it is RHC in English but VP signal. The 1900
English broadcast had not been heard for many months.
Further chex at 2159 direct: 15230 is on with algo, no 15140 or 13780.
At 2350, none of all these frequencies audible into Maryland SDR

content, and handles network ad insertion).
If their STL (studio-to-transmitter link) or satellite receiver
hiccupped, the Skyview receiver could have defaulted to its test loop,
thus being heard on air mixed with program.
The “call the operations center” message is meant for engineers when
the receiver is out of sync.
Another Skyview affiliate bleeding in
KSPI Stillwater, OK, is indeed on 780, but it’s a daytimer (500 W). It
should have been off the air at 0640 UT (01:40 CDT). If it wasn’t,
maybe it was running satellite network feed (via Skyview) unattended
overnight.
However, with equal strength to WBBM in Oklahoma, that would be
unusual—KSPI runs only 250 W at night if authorized (but FCC shows
daytimer).
Imposter / spur / crossfeed
Less likely, but another station in the region could have been airing
Skyview’s loop due to automation misconfiguration.
If it was truly “equal strength” with WBBM in Oklahoma, that points
toward a local/regional source, not just WBBM alone.
My take
Most likely it was WBBM itself briefly radiating the Skyview test loop
due to a network receiver failure. The fact you heard both WBBM and
the loop “equal strength” could have been their audio chain mixing the
live program with the backup/test channel.
KSPI or another Oklahoma station seems less likely at that hour,
unless it was mistakenly left on at night running satellite
automation.
📌 What you might do:
Check KSPI’s official FCC license (it’s indeed daytimer only). If they
were on at 01:40 CDT, that would be unauthorized nighttime operation.
If this repeats, it’s more probably WBBM itself having an
uplink/network receiver issue.`` (via Ron Howard)
This is more or less to be expected, except AI does not know that from
my previous experience, KSPI daytimer *can* be on overnight, and at
nearby groundwave range, will be steady and as strong as WBBM via
skywave. KSPI is 250 watts, not 500. It was not very brief, but maybe
5 minutes before I tuned away. No such problem 24 hours later (Glenn

KOTV IBOC noise peaking 1183. No doubt still KZOT Bellevue NE from

** U S A. 1360.025 approx., Aug 30 at 0627 UT, LAH = low audible
heterodyne from offset carrier. I fear previous logs as 1360.28 or
1360.29, may have been mistaken without the 0. In this case there is
now a very recent entry in mwoffsets for 1360.033 from WWOW Conneaut
OH as of 2025-08-13. I also suspected WWOW in an August 9 log, q.v.
Aug 30 at 1540 UT I check the KiwiSDR at Southington OH, and bingo, it
has a nostalgia station +33 Hz from 1360; calibration not checked
precisely, but neighboring frequencies are closer to .00 either side
of channel. NRC AM Log shows OLD format rather than NOS, but ``I love
you because you`re you`` and ``You are the sunshine of my heart`` are
more like NOS than OLD which applies to early rock (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** U S A. 1570, Aug 31 at 0650 UT, ``WLRS`` mentioned immediately as I
pause on this frequency. This is it: New Albany IN, U1 1500/233 watts,
``Kentuckiana`s True Oldies``, address in Clarksville, per NRC AM Log.
There are many, many UStations at night on 1570 under 500 watts, or
under 100 watts, even two in TX at 6 and 11 watts: tough luck, XERF!

which is 50 Hz off compared to WWV 10000, so exact readings have been
corrected: 7490 -55 Hz = 7489.945, S9+20 with FKB. 9330.005, S9+30
WLCR Brazuguese but off for rotation at 2357. 6160 +20 Hz = 6160.020,
S5/S7 with CRI, but BCQ on by 2356 with IS & ID loop, S9+15/20 and
0000 into something else. 5130 by 2357 somebuzz not BCQ still past
0000. 3265 totally off.
UT Sat Aug 30 at 0000 announces that following AAAWWW was originally
broadcast March 28, 2025 - never mind, see my log on that date. Now
joined by 9330 only. On Thu Aug 28, Allan said ``listen tonight`` for
more about the ``Laser Broadcast System`` he had been publicizing, but
I assumed he really meant Friday night - not. Did anyone hear him with

UNIDENTIFIED. 252 kHz, my JBA carrier where no beacons are likely,
could well be the 750 kW broadcaster in ALGERIA, I have just realized.
I have so little luck with any LWBC DX that I didn`t even consider
that: ``252 kHz, Aug 27 at 0357 UT, LW beaconscan hits only one
unusual, 252 kHz; trouble is, dxinfocentre.com shows only two
possibilities, in SC and NS; and RNA list shows none anywhere. Now
wondering if I were really tuned to 251 AM but I think not``. The
remaining active EurAfrican LWs are on: 153, 162, 171, 198, 225, 252.
Gedas in Indiana has been getting 198 and 225. And E Asia = all
Mongolia: 164, 209, 227, per WRTH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 17435-17470, Aug 29 at 2213, S9 multi-carrier,
multi-tones beating against each other over this approx. range. Often
heard for long time but have not relogged it for quite a while. What
