I doubt VTR is mixing with a station 230 miles away

Beacon VTR 350khz |
|
Friday, November 20 2020
3rd harmonics of NDBs can be a real problem on the 160 meter amateur band also. Several have caused QRM (interference) to stations there, and had to be shut down temporarily for repair. The NDB transmitters are rather primitive affairs, without much attention paid in design to spurious or harmonic generation.
Incidentally, VTR is more likely mixing with the carrier of KFQD in Anchorage on 750 kHz, and producing output on 1050. 73, Fred W2AAB On Thu, Nov 19, 2020 at 2:38 PM Paul B.
