atlas index. Search finds them just NE of QC City on the north shore

Batesville - Almond, Arkansas; mixing with YLD and dash, 1000 watts

I was tuned to 380-USB.

Not to be confused with another SP, on 386, which is 50 watts on St.
Pierre, the French one with Miquelon. I also see another target on
386, HAU, 25 watts at Helena - Hauser, Montana. Hauser is the name of
a dam/lake/reservoir north of Helena. There is also a pop. 700 town
Hauser on the Oregon coast north of Coos Bay.

I am hearing very little below 300 kHz, maybe something to do with my
R75 sensitivity and/or LW antenna; but plenty tonight above 300; see
also CANADA. Of course at dozetime I am only hitting here and there,
instead of trying to log and re-log everything possible like some guys

** U S A [and non]. 7290-LSB, Dec 26 at 1951, the 7290 traffic net is
wrapping up by NCS WA5VAS; says it`s at 10-12 Mon-Sat and 1-2 M-F.
Must be referring to CST. Mentions QRM from foreign broadcaster, and
that it has gone off by 2001 when the net is closing anyway. Also gave
website http://www.7290trafficnet.org

I was really checking for that foreign broadcaster, IRRS 7290 via
Romania(?) and indeed could hear it on DSB AM while the hams were only
on LSB, despite 7290 being a preferred hangout for hAMs.

I suspect I myself could be QRMing them on Mondays until 1930 now in
midwinter, but I`ve yet to hear me direct on IRRS, which inboooms to
Utwente.

I daresay that ham traffic nets are a bit anachronistic with so many
more efficient ways for third parties to communicate, even from
isolated locales. More of a social gathering. At closing a couple of
messages were still outstanding with no one to take them on.

I gather this is centred in Texas; the only YL I heard, who relayed
some contacts the other NCS could not hear, is Jo Ann Keith, KA5AZK in
rural Gilmer TX, while WA5VAS is Gary Caywood in Hondo TX, per
ARRL/FCC lookups.

Cuba Radio report, Thursday Dec 26, traced at 13.50 to 14.40 UT,
noted in various remote SDR rx installations in North America:
at Edmonton Alberta CAN, in Massachusetts and at New Jersey US states.
CUBA  5025even  Radio Rebelde Bauta site, S=9+35dB in Alberta, 13.50 UT,
Spanish female locutora. Perseus antenna selection switch set to ATT- at
30dB, rightest selection button set. 20 kHz wide audio block in peaks,
well audio quality at S=9+35dB signal level.
5999.996  RHC Spanish from Quivican San Felipe TITAN 250 kW site.
Quality technicalwise mixed feeling, low distorted modulation,
though very strong signal at 13.56 UT on Dec 26.

9835 kHz festival, hi:
IRAN  9835 exact minus a half Hertz. Noted at 17.21 UT on Dec 25.
IRIB Russian language section at new time,
S=9 in central and northern Europe,
but signal peak more southwards from Iran,
heard rather S=9+15dB strength in Italy, Greece
and Austrian-Yugoslav border area.
Former IRIB Russian given as Sirjan site 500 kW at 336degr azimuth.
The whole technical and program schedule moderate IRIB behavior
in Iran can only be accepted with a violent shake of the head.
On the other hand to compare, Cuba SW Radio is an oasis of wellbeing.  😊

MALAYSIA  9835 even exact, seemingly acc Aoki Nagoya list 100 kW at 93degr
azimuth straight eastwards signal. Poor at remotes in Qatar and Delhi India.
But much stronger at S=8-9 this Dec 26 morning at 10.10 UT in Hiroshima,
Nagara River and at SDR rx in Tokyo Japan.
Likely RTM Kajang 'FM Sarawak' px. Pop mx heard at 10.11 UT. But much poorer
across Kamchatka peninsula, Alaska path into Edmonton, Alberta western
Canada at S=4-5 or -104 dBm level.

KUWAIT   7249.854  usual odd fq.  Radio Kuwait Persian service from Kabd
site noted at 09.38 UT on Dec 26. S=9+30 in Doha Qatar,
19.2 kHz wideband excellent audio quality from Radio Kuwait installation.
Non-directional ITU #935 antenna of quadrant type.

CHINA/MONGOLIA  7259.990 / 7260 nearly even fq.
7259.990 PBS Xinjiang Chinese program from Urumqi Changji #523 bcast center.

Isn`t it incredible how so many stations are incapable of fulfilling

but very undermodulated, hard to follow. 2256 recheck slightly better

``until later today``. 9980 can blast in earlier, but MUF has now
dropped, and such degraded modulation is very unusual for WWCR. #4
transmitter is scheduled on 9980 for only 10 hours a week, M-F 21-22
Financial Survival and 22-23 Chosen Generation, supposedly with Pastor
Gregory Young per pdf skedgrid. This is the same transmitter as on
