Glenn Hauser logs January 24, 2018  View Printable Version
Wednesday, January 24 2018

** ANGUILLA. 6090, Jan 24 at 0222 check, there it went! Caribbean Beacon gone again just as expected. Meanwhile, Harold Frodge got this explanation from Brady Murray of WWCR:

``Harold: Pastor Scottâs crew has the transmitter in great shape. As they are able, they run the transmitter when not repairing infrastructure. Though I have not seen the site personally, I suspect that continuous operation could cause significant risk of injury or death, if operated while repairs continue. Iâm guessing it broadcasts only when workers are off-site. WWCR has not broadcast on either CBB frequency. CBB is intermittent for now, but will be back as soon as possible.``

OK, but that doesn`t really explain why it needs to be off the air overnight, and for weeks straight at a time. Richard Langley also replies to my comment, ``"Richard Langley says the local newspaper reports. . ."

Actually, it was an article in the British newspaper The Times. Don't hear them on 6090 kHz tonight at 0245 UT``

OK, I didn`t think there was a Times on Anguilla but unspecified, there are Times all over (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. Tuned the NDB LW band on R75 and besides a triple of non-Okie USAmerix, q.v. got these in MCW; reference dxinfocentre.com:

248 kHz, Jan 24 at 0317, WG and dash, from Winnipeg, MB
346 kHz, Jan 24 at 0325, YXL and dash, from Sioux Lookout ON

** COLOMBIA [and non]. 5910.233, Jan 24 at 0225, AlcaravÃn Radio is making a big het with weakened Romania, the latter presumably very close to 5910.000. For fun this time, instead of measuring the carrier directly on the R75, I compare the pitch to my keyboard, and it`s very close to Bb below Cmiddle, i.e. 233 Hz.

Then I do it another way, I hear the het in AM mode, then in LSB mode off-tune until the HJDH carrier is making the same pitch against the RRI carrier, and the frequency reads out 5910.230, close enough (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, UT Wed Jan 24 at 0530, RHC English is a little more readable here than 6165, no Arnie Coro. Ian Millett, Baltimore, N3CVA, notified me earlier:

``Hello Glenn, Radio Havana Cubaâs middle of the week Dxers Unlimited program was missing at 0230 UT (9:30 p.m. EST) tonight Tuesday 23rd January, 2018. The announcer said that Arnie Coro is recovering from surgery and hopes to be back with the program soon. I continued listening to 6000 kHz when the transmission suddenly went off air at 0254 though parallel 6165 was still on air. Transmitter came on again at 0300. Ian Millett in Baltimore``

We heard about his surgery a few weeks ago; maybe it was delayed, rather than a second one. GWQ! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MADAGASCAR. 6065, Jan 24 at 0306, sounds like children`s drama or story, in African language with music, S8 to S9+10; then ID as ``Ah-doble-ve-err`` almost like it were Spanish, but really AWR in Malgache this hour, 100 kW at 20 degrees. I guess Talata can`t go non-direxional or better yet, NVIS, for domestic coverage (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 39, KWTV ``9``, OKC, January 24 at 0420 UT, David Payne`s national weather map with a few major cities labeled, includes SAN JOSE about where Corpus Christi TX should be. Strange as it seem, there is no San Josà town of any size, anywhere in Tejas, per Rand McNally large-scale atlas!

Further online research finds a San Josà barrier island just up the coast from CC, but these map titles were of cities, not islands. Historically there were San Josà somethings-or-others in Bexar and Duval counties (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SWAZILAND. 3240, Jan 24 at 0342, African choir at S6-S8, 0345 TWR music box IS once and off (uncovers a JBA carrier, but it`s local overload). This is Manzini at 0300-0345, in ShaNdc per HFCC, 50 kW at 3 degrees. WRTH shows 0330-0345 is really in Ndau without a c, after 0300-0330 daily in Shona. EiBi readme.txt language reference shows Ndau is spoken by twice as many in MoÃambique as in Zimbabwe,
``NDA Ndau: Mocambique (1.6m), Zimbabwe (0.8m) [ndc]``

** U S A. Tuned the NDB LW band on R75 and besides a couple of Canux, q.v. got these non-Okies in MCW; reference dxinfocentre.com:

385 kHz, Jan 24 at 0328, UWL, which is in New Castle IN
407 kHz, Jan 24 at 0330, HRU, which is in Herington KS
414 kHz, Jan 24 at 0333, MSD, which is in Mansfield LA

** U S A. 5985, Jan 24 at 0256, WRMI, DX program in Spanish with a bunch of logs correlating with what Manuel MÃndez, Spain reports, about Conciencia, Congo, Guinea Ecuatorial. Scheduled UT Weds from 0230 as `Frecuencia al DÃa` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 6115, Jan 24 at 0223, very poor signal from algo, something exotic? No, WWCR merely has faded way down, weaker than 5935 which is also in deep fading (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ZAMBIA [and non]. 5915, Jan 24 at 0229, 1 kHz tone on carrier here, not a het, from ZNBC-1 of course. Not too much ACI from 5910 or 5920 stations. Tone stops at 0238:20, but carrier still on with a slight SAH, from what? HFCC shows CRI in Russian, via Kashgar, East Turkistan, 100 kW at 0 degrees, this hour only. But so weak as not to bother much with ZNBC-1 at S7-S8; the Fish Eagle cries start at 0240, and last 11 minutes! I wonder if they are in a loop or if the FE axually kept calling that long in real time. 0251 brief music, presumed national anthem, 0252 announcement and music, then yelling with bells, 0254 into a speech (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ALBANIA [non]. 5850, Jan 23 at 2259, WRMI playing Greek music fill, S9+20, 2300.0 Dino Spanish ID, 2300.5 NOT Radio Tirana relay but 29 minutes of World Music fill, starting with harp, Paraguayan? But it`s Christian hymn tune; then the long Ode-to-Joy/European Union piece. I let this be my nap accompaniment with VG reception. 2929.5, ``Okeechobee Ocean`` ID, 2330.0 into Radio Prague relay in English. Nevertheless, please bring back Tirana`s only relay spot on WRMI, audiblizing it beyond the low-power German relay in Europe (if that is still running) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ANGUILLA. 11775, Jan 23 at 1820 check, Caribbean Beacon DGS still active for a second day; the clock is ticking for another shutdown. Richard Langley says the local newspaper reports that electrical power has been restored thruout the island, so that`s not the problem for sporadic activity (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15370-AM, Jan 23 at 1530, RHC is S9+30 and undermodulated, but NO FM SPURS all over the 19m band for the first time in weeks! As if they finally took note of my almost daily reports, and Kai Ludwig`s explanation of the likely cause. But could be a fluke; we`ll keep checking (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1914, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KIRITIMATI. 846, Jan 23 at 0646, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISITENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6940-USB, January 23 at 2345, heavy beat rock music from some pirate, good at S9; 2351 synthyl DJ says it was Iron Maiden, then heavily produced jingle for ``Cool on the Airwaves``; next song something about Ukrainian unrest. 2355 refers to website ?fateunrest.com --- not sure of first word; a human voice might have been more readable. 0000 Jan 24, full ID with address coolamradio@hotmail.com says it is a music special, next something by the group Propaganda. Still going at 0031 recheck. Cool AM is an established Euro-pirate but this is obviously a North American relay. These say it`s via Clever Name Radio:

For SSB it sounds really good, and here`s how digitalmod evaluates it: ``Great audio compressed into 3 kHz. Really sounds great on my POLKS :P By the look of the sideband dance, the music is expertly equalized at and below 1500 Hz``

Then Cool AM itself replies: ``TnX CNR for the Relay! Program was made in 2016 - it was also airplayed on the German station Radio Channel292 (with 292 jingles ) Presentation by DeeJay Samantha Jones!
AndrÃ, CoolAM Radio - ShortWave
Transmitters Do It On Air!!!

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1913 monitoring: confirmed final SW broadcast Tuesday January 23 at 2030 on WRMI, 7780 very poor, 9455 poor to fair. We are already getting into longer days, making a return to 11580 a good idea already, at least in this direxion.

** U S A. 9395 // 7780, Jan 23 at 2130, music, apparently Oldies on WRMI, rather than `Power Hour`; what happened?

9395 // 9455, Jan 23 at 2302, now this WRMI pair are // with network news, at first assumed VOA but there`s a commercial break and soon reference to townhall.com --- that`s a relatively new network which has also appeared on WBCQ (or at least when duplicating its AM or FM station), and also shows up on far-right talk stations such as KZLS 1640 OK. In fact its website is titled ``conservative news, politix`` --- if it`s conservative, it`s not news, but openly slanted. Can you imagine something proudly calling itself ``liberal news``? For us it`s just NEWS, facts without a slant. Who`s behind townhall? They admit on the aboutus page that it`s Salem, i.e. cool with witchhunts (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ANGUILLA. 11775, Jan 22 at 2058, University Network is back after another long hiatus, DGS at S9+10/20, // 13845 WWCR. Causes ACI to 11780 Brasil even with USB tuning. Recheck at 2153, DGS with a Greek lesson (as applied to Biblical interpretation, of course), about the roots `tel` and `krat`, right thru hourtop, 2205 finally usual canned ID for PMS website, ``You are watching the University Network``, phone 1-800-338-3030; 2207 Dead Gene Scott resumes. Tired of waiting for them to QSY to 6090 at 2200 nominal, tune out.

Harold Frodge, MI, also caught this and reports: ``BARBIELAND:
11775, University Network; 2040-2133+, 1/22; Dead Dr. Gene on a roll, focusing on the resurrection; "If you believe what Gene tells you, youâre on a rock. Believe anything else, youâre lost." No ToH break. 2122:10 music break with reservation phone #; never mentioned University Network.

2125:10 into Rev. Barbie on how "saved" people look at those who are not. "God can pluck us from the wreckage of life." S20+ peaks with xmtr? hum + minor 11780 Brasil splash. There seems to be a building consensus that this is not coming from Anguilla. Not there at 1500 check. Last logged on 11775 12/6/17. // 13845 via WWCR(p), poor

6090, University Network; 2254-2305+, 1/22; Rev. Barbie on when/why to celebrate Xmas. R.B. never gets as carried away as Dead Dr. Gene. S20+ peaks with xmtr? hum. 6090 last logged 12/5/17 (Frodge-MI)``

6090, I also find this back on with PMS, Jan 23 at 0030 check. Usual VG signal. Previous reactivations have lasted only a few days at most, since it was ``destroyed`` by August hurricane (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, Jan 22 at 1900, RAE starts its third week of non-relays via WRMI, rather World Music fill, different than Oldies on very poor 7780 (for music, 9420 Greece is better). 9455 is OFF rather than // 7780, leaving a JBA carrier, presumably CNR1/Firedragon jammer and/or Radio Free Asia, which are capable of interfering with WRMI all day on 9455. 2056 recheck, 9455 back on // 7780, and 9395 still World Music, the fado, not RAE Italian. I`ve notified Jeff about this, and my numerous reports are published in Argentina, but apparently no one cares.

If they are still producing new German and Italian programs every weekday, maybe at least a few web listeners are served. O yes, per RAE website, German has a ``Dienstag-Samstag: 1000-1100 UTC (Wiederholung) auf 6005 kHz`` via a Germany transmitter, likely better than 9395 would be heard there anyway.

There are also various podcasts, one labeled ``puntata di oggi``, maybe really as recent as last week, as I hear one headline mentioning Papa in Chile; plus evergreens:

** CUBA. 5040, Jan 22 at 0707, this RHC English is now off, unlike some other nights, leaving only the Cuban Four of Five: 6060 VG, 6000 undermodulated, 6100 dead air, 6165 DA or maybe JBM. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15576, 15508, 15439, 15302, 15234, 15166, 15098, 15031, 14963, Jan 22 at 1517 check, the approx. centers of RHC-FM spurs out of 15370-AM. 15234 manages to QRM both RHC 15230 and algo legally on 15235. During `Sonido Cubano` music show, but still sounds better on AM. Something is always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA [non]. 5850, UT Mon Jan 22 at 0659, WRMI S9+30 carrier on, // 7730 also VG; 0700 `Broad Spectrum Radio` for January, 2018. James Branum says he has thrown out original plans, instead to deal with Drumpf and his s-holes; for starters, quotes at length FCC rules on profanity and obscenity. Never obscenity, but mere profanity is OK between 10 pm and 6 am local time (but how does that apply to SW stations covering multiple timezones? Didn`t think of that, did they? But BSR profanity should be OK at this hour unless you`re in the UT -10 zone or beyond!) Still quoting at 0707, when I can`t stay awake much longer, so will have to get it later via
but site still hasn`t been updated since December as of Jan 23 at 0209. Probably WRMI will replay this episode for a few more weeks Mondays at 0700. Is/was this also on any other SW station, like WINB or WBCQ? Who knows? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PALAU. 9960, Jan 22 at 1436, delighted to hear some classical music, `La Gazza Ladra` overture by Rossini, S9+20 fading to S9, and QRMing much weaker 9955 WRMI --- not my problem anymore since WOR at 1415 Wednesdays has been canceled. This is Furusato no Kaze, 1430-1500 the only time anything is on 9960, via T8WH. Maybe played whole 10-minute piece, to conclusion at 1442 and Japanese back-announcement mentioning Rossini, but not sure how you say La Gazza Ladra in JJ. Soon some more unfamiliar classical music, 1448 interview in Japanese. What has this to do with North Korean abduxions of Japanese? but more, more! O, I get it, the Juches are like thieving magpies. No US SW station would dare to play classical music beyond incidentally, and of course LeSEA gets no credit for this done by one of its clients (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1913 monitoring: not confirmed UT Tue Jan 23 at 0030 on WBCQ, no signal audible on 9330v-CUSB. But at same time VG S9+20/30 on WRMI 7730. Next:
Tue 2030 WRMI 7780 to NE, 9455 to WNW [or #1914?]

I expect to have 1914 ready for Tue 2130 on 9455
Full WOR schedule via all media, podcast access:

** U S A. 9455, Jan 22 at 1447, WRMI `Viva Miami` episode still replaying the Allan Weiner visitation; not unusual for VM not to be refreshed weekly. Clear here, away from the Thieving Magpie on 9960 vs // 9955; see PALAU (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5830, Jan 22 at 0658, WTWW-1 is back on with PPPP, having been absent earlier in evening as late as 0425, and daytime from 9475 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM [non]. 7315, Jan 23 at 0057, VOV 00-02 UT relay problems via WHRI continue: praise music fill in English, and dumps off the air at 0058:50*. Back on for only a few seconds of music at 0102:35. By 0124 check, 7315 is back on but weaker signal, maybe backup transmitter, only S9, VOV in English; 0129 usual break filled by WHR`s ad for Voice of the Martyrs, 0130 music fill? again, 0133 YL DJ in English, now really fading down and almost out, but at 0134 I can tell it`s VOV in English with their Vietnamese accent; instead of VOV Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ZANZIBAR. 11735, Jan 22 at 2058, presumed ZBC is talking on poor signal, cut off abruptly at 2100:30* (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 0340 UT January 23

Monday, January 22 2018

** COLOMBIA. 5910.237, Jan 22 at 0335, VP signal with music, no doubt the sporadic AlcaravÃn Radio, typically way off-frequency. 0427 much better S7-S9 with song, Spanish announcement (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ERITREA. 7181.553, Jan 22 at 0351, S7 carrier, trace of talk, from VOBME on typical split frequency. INTRUDERS in the 40m ham band.

7140.018, Jan 22 at 0353, JBA carrier even weaker from the other VOBME. No DRM jamming audible around either but that too could be so weak as to be indistinguishable from band noise level. Hargeisa is much stronger (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** JAPAN [non]. 9455, Jan 22 at 0428, I`m standing by for a WOR check on WRMI, as R. JapÃn NHK World is wrapping Spanish semihour with music, talkover complete Spanish SW schedule which is only: 0400 on 6195, 5985; 0930 on 6195. She doesn`t even know they are on an additional good frequency, 9455! 5985 is JBA here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MADAGASCAR. 7330, Jan 22 at 0341, S9+10/20 two quick features in Spanish from AARP (but initials pronounced in English), about juventud, 0343 choir hymn with aleluyas, 0346 ``ArqueologÃa BÃblica`` feature, from La Voz Alegre, the Spanish service of Madagascar World Voice. Aoki names this KNLS of World Christian Broadcasting --- but KNLS is the Al`aska station ONLY, which never has and never will, broadcast in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950.44-AM, Jan 21 at 2324, pirate music, seems to go off at 2326. Captain Morgan Shortwave, per this thread:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935-USB, Jan 21 at 2326, rock singer. This thread says it`s Moonlight Radio:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935-USB, Jan 22 at 0357, heavy beat music, S4-S6. At 0414, now stronger S9 with rock, ``You`re the Only One``, 0415 interrupted, and bits of some more music with cuts, apparently off for good at 0419*. Clever Name Radio was on frequency:
but no reports later than 0232, and would not expect them to cut around like this (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOMALILAND. 7119.997, Jan 22 at 0355, R. Hargeisa is S9 to S9+10 with undermodulated talk, slightly below frequency as best I can measure it; much stronger than the neighboring Eritreans, all INTRUDERS (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U A E. UNIDENTIFIED? 7285.095, Jan 22 at 0348, open carrier with some flutter, maybe trace of modulation; no breaks while I listen, so not a ham? RSA? No, Sonder Grense is still on 3320. Gone after 0400 recheck. Aha, Aoki shows 03-04 is a BBC Arabic frequency via UAE, which are renowned for off-frequency-itis (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1913 monitoring: Ivo Ivanov reports: ``GERMANY, Reception of World of Radio via HLR on 9485 CUSB, Jan 21
1131-1200 9485 GOH 001 kW / 230 deg to CeEu English Sat, weak/fair``

I missed checking 0030 UT Monday Jan 22 on WBCQ 9330v-CUSB, but chances are high it would have been inaudible.

Confirmed UT Mon Jan 22 starting at 0401:20 on Area 51 via WBCQ 5129.834, S5-S9 but R2 at best. Also confirmed UT Mon Jan 22 at 0430 on WRMI 9455, seamless transition from NHK Spanish // 5985 until 0430, now // 9955. A bit earlier at 0412, 9455 was S9+10/20 while 9955 was S6-S8 with something in English, so I was expecting 9455 to be much stronger than 9955 for WOR --- but, now, 9955 has surged up to S9+20, while 9455 is S9+10 at best! As if 9955 had made an antenna switch, but that`s not something WRMI ever does on a single frequency, according to own schedules. Next:
Tue 0030 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Tue 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW
Tue 2030 WRMI 7780 to NE, 9455 to WNW [or #1914?]

Full WOR schedule via all media, podcast access:

** U S A. 7489.93, Sun Jan 21 at 2314, WBCQ with `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot` in progress with Greek-sounding music, then a Mystery Song prompting listener response, really too easy. Always a fun show (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9395, Jan 22 at 0408-0410, VOA News relayed by WRMI Oldies, S9+10, better than anything now from VOA itself. Caster is Jonathan Jones, and he stumbles in one of the stories. I often hear VOA newspersons stumble, and can only wonder about their experience and professionalism. Maybe they are distracted with a bad situation on their minds. Not that I never do so, but recording, I back up and correct most of them; while VOA news is presumably read live. Not necessarily: for best results, some commercial network news would be recorded a few minutes before airing. After perfectly canned Bob Biermann ID, 0411 ``Alice`s Restaurant``, which is the name of the song, not a restaurant (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9475 & 5830, Jan 21 at 2320, WTWW-1 missing from both frequencies, and 5830 still AWOL at 0425 check Jan 22. 5085 WTWW-2 not on either; and of course 12105 WTWW-3 has not been heard at all since a December spurt of activity with Xmasmx (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, Jan 21 at 0702, RHC English hour restarting, this-day-in-history about Guinea-Bissau; VG, like last night rather than off by 0700. But too sleepy to check whether it stayed later in this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11820, Jan 21 at 1428, as I am bandscanning up the 11 MHz band, weak music and talk, S5 --- it`s a second-order spur, 2 x 10 kHz below // RHC 11840 fundamental which is S9+40. First-order ones at plus and minus 10 kHz are always there, 11830 & 11850, today achieving S9+10 each. Matching +20 kHz on 11860 is S6, about equaling weak Yemen [non] signal, CCI! All-out, let`s go for plus and minus 30: JBA carriers on 11810 & 11870 could well be RHC too.

Strange that only 11840 exhibits such companionship, as same transmitter likely used on other frequencies at other dayparts. And these are at exact 10.00 kHz intervals, as if intentional, not random spurrage. O yes, adding to the mix is pulse jamming on 11845, years after Radio Martà quit ever using it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15574, 15507, 15438, 15303, 15235, 15167, 15100, 15032, 14961, Jan 21 at 1439 during `En Contacto`, indeed, RHC-FM spurs roughly on these center frequencies, at ~67-68 kHz intervals, and all except the lowest two capable of being heard more or less clearly with FM mode tuning, plus the constant F# tone, which can also be heard in AM; all out of the prolific 15370-AM transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [non]. 5980, Jan 21 at 0701, R. Martà still on here with jamming, unlike last night`s anomalies. 7355 & 7435 with jamming only; 6030 RM + jamming too (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INDIA. 11560, Jan 21 at 1435, Bollywood music at S8-S4, certainly better than 9690 AIR GOS is doing. This one is AIR Pashto at 1415-1530, 500 kW, 312 degrees from Delhi-Kingsway, somewhat favorable azimuth for us beyond (also 1315-1415 in Dari). (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5850, Sunday January 21 at 0707, WRMI is on tonight with preacher from Main Street Church of Christ about Acts and // 7730, both VG but modulation slightly distorted, from program source? Says he has 21 international radio broadcasts to all the Earth including multiple times to Africa; then referencing Galatians 3:16 (which is about the seeds of Abraham --- didn`t know about spermatozoa then). Skedgrid shows these two at 07-09 now on air Sun & Mon only, this hour being `Worship in Your Home`. Same 07-08 hour on Mon is labeled `Broad Spectrum Radio`, and it`s overdue for a new monthly edition, but nothing yet on BSR website since December`s Xmas music mashup. `Shortwave Radiogram` also expects to radiate beeps on both, Mon at 0800-0830 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7780, Jan 21 at 1524, poor signal from WRMI with the exuberant steel drum tune, i.e. World Music fill, and not Oldies which are not // this but // each other on 9395 & 9455. 15-16 UT on 7780 is scheduled Sundays only as `Yeshua Messiah Ministry`, which must be a no-show (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. From David Frantz, WWRB, at 1336 UT Jan 21: ``Greetings!! Our main transmitter went up in smoke. Hope to have it up today Sunday with all the cold weather then warming up. We think moisture got us.

We have many programmers that want to take advantage of our $ 25.00 airtime rate per hour. It is a great rate for 100,000 watts of transmitter power with frequencies that people can HEAR!

Most of my time now is giving flight training for instrument students. We have on site a full ILS, NDB, VOR DME aircraft approaches saving plenty of time and money for our students as no time is wasted getting vectored around and sequencing with other aircraft.

The shortwave station is nothing more than a hobby station now. We keep it on for various programmers on days that make sense``

Hi David, Many thanks for keeping us informed. Please continue to do so. I assume ``up in smoke`` was not literal, if you can have it back on today. What exactly happened to it? We were wondering why no signals heard last night (Glenn to Dave, via DXLD)
